The bride was given in marriage by her stepbrother, Herbert Graham of Gloversville. She wore a white marquisette and lace gown over taffeta trimmed with sequins. She wore a matching petal headpiece with a bouffant veil and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations, roses and daisies.
Miss Kitte Rouse of Whitesboro, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She wore a yellow satin and white lace gown with a yellow satin bow headpiece and carried a bouquet of yellow carnations.
Miss Mary Rouse of Whitesboro, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Elaine Ciani of Gloversville, step sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore pink satin and white lace gowns and matching headpieces and carried bouquets of pink flowers.
Brian Rouse of Whitesboro, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Herbert Graham Jr. of Gloversville and Jerry Jackson of Marcy, Oneida County, were ushers.
The mother of the bride wore a blue dress with lace trim, a white hat and an orchid corsage. The mother of the bridegroom wore a blue, red and green dress.
A reception for 40 was held at the VFW hall after the ceremony with guests attending from Gloversville, Johnstown, Amsterdam, Utica and Rockwood.
For a trip to Texas and other southern states, the bride chose a yellow linen dress and a yellow carnation corsage. The couple will reside at Utica.
Attendants were presented gifts prior to the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Gloversville High School and the Manpower Training School, Utica. She is employed at Star's Department store, Utica. The bridegroom is employed at the school.

Susan Joyce Romaine passed away suddenly at her home in Gloversville on June 11, 2015.
Born in Gloversville, New York on November 30, 1947, she is the daughter of the late William and Kathleen Reynolds Scott.
Susan was pre-deceased by her husband Gary J. Romaine, Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Romaine) Ambridge of Orlando, Florida and Sharon (Romaine) Caputo of Gloversville, two sons, Gary Romaine, Jr. and Erwin Romaine both of Gloversville; a sister, Janice Miller (Leonard) of Rockwood; grandchildren, Blake Ambridge, Gregory Playford, Stacia Hayner, Robert Bishop, Jennifer Romaine, Nicholas Caputo, Andrew Caputo and Cassandra Romaine along with 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her uncle, Duane Reynolds, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also predeceased by a brother Marvin Scott.

Helen R. Surnear, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born March 6, 1925 in St. Johnsville, a daughter of the late Samuel Polenski and Rose Krissa Polenski. Helen attended St. Johnsville Schools and later worked for many years as a sales clerk for Woolworth in Little Falls. She was of the Catholic faith, a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Johnstown Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one son Samuel Surnear, Sr. and his companion Tammy Blackwood of Gloversville, two daughters Patricia Gardner and Susan (Chuck) Hickok, both of Gloversville, one sister Anna Javarone of Mohawk, one sister-in-law Lena Polenski of Gloversville, grandson Samuel Surnear, Jr. and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two daughters Joan Surnear and Jane Brumaghim and one son Kenneth C. Surnear, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Friends and family may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown.

Both civil and religious ceremonies were performed to unite Miss Helen Polenski, daughter of Mrs. Rose Polenski, Ann stret, and Pfc. Kenneth Chester Surnear, son of Mrs. Etta Surnear, Canajoharie. They were married on Sunday, February 4, by County Judge William J. Crangle, and on the following Tuesday night had a religious ceremony performed at the parish house of St. Patrick's Catholic church by Rev. Michael Scully.
Attendants were Miss Anna Clement of Llttfe Falls and Seaman Michael Kane. Canajoharie, a cousin of the bridegroom.
The bride attended local schools, and has been employed In the Woolworth store in Little Falls. The bridegroom attended school in Canajoharie, and was employed in the Beech-Nut Packing Co. there before he entered service three years ago.
Mrs. Surnear will reside with her mother, while Pfc. Surnear will return to Atlantic City, N. J., where he is stationed.

CANAJOHARIE --- Mrs. Marguerite L. Whltbeck, 32, wife of Robert Whitbeck, 60 Otsego Street, died yesterday in Albany Hospital where she was taken Saturday.
She was born Oct 20, 1921, in Nelliston, daughter of William and Etta Cromer Surnear. She had lived m Canajoharie since childhood. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Besides her husband she leaves four daughters, Judith, Roberta, Linda and Sandy; one infant son, Robert; her mother, Mrs. Jewett Whitbeck, all of Canajoharie; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Ballou and Mrs. Lincoln Fralick, both of Canajoharie; two brothers, William Surnear Jr (sic)., Canajoharie, and Kenneth Surnear, Johnstown; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Moyer, Johnstown.
The funeral will be at 2 Wednesday from her home, with the Rev. Albert M. Brockway, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
