  Barbara A. Subik, age 85, of Johnstown, New York, passed away quietly on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.
  She was born in Gloversville on June 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Harold and Florence Allen. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1943.
  She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Subik; they were married on August 4, 1945.
  Barbara was a lifelong resident of Johnstown and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Johnstown, and also a member of the women's guild at church.
  She loved to socialize and was a member of several local card and bridge clubs. Barbara loved to cook and have all the relatives over to celebrate the holidays at her home.
  Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown in the spring.

  A wedding which united two popular young people was solemnized this afternoon at 1, when Miss Barbara Jane Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Allen, Johnson avenue extension, became the bride of Michael J. Sublk, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Sublk, 23 Rosewood avenue.
   The ceremony was performed in the rectory of St. Anthony's church, with the Rev Francis J. Salamon officiating. Members of the immediate families and a few friends were present.
   The attendants were Miss Constance E. Trumbull, close personal friend of the bride, and Robert A Subik, brother of the bridegroom.
   Mrs. Subik chose a dusty rose crepe street length dress for her wedding gown. She wore a matching hat with clusters of self-color flowers. Her accessories were white. A shoulder corsage of white gardenias added to the effectiveness of her ensemble.
   Miss Trumbull, the bridesmaid, was attractive in a gown of powder blue crepe. Her accessories were white and her shoulder corsage was of pink roses.
   The bridegroom and his brother wore white carnation boutonnieres.
   Mr. and Mrs. John L. Sublk, the bridegroom's parents, have taken up their residence on one of the farms belonging to the family and the newly-weds will make their home at 23 Rosewood avenue.
   Among the out-of-town guests present for the wedding were Milton B. Allen of Oneonta, the brides brother, and Mr. and Mrs. William Subik and family of Binghamton.
   Following the ceremony, the bridal party, and members of the immediate families, went to 'The Towers" on the Amsterdam-Schenectady road for dinner. In the center of the table was a large wedding cake surmounted with a miniature bride and groom.
   After the dinner members of the bridal party went to Gloversville where pictures of the group were taken and at this time the attendants were presented personal gifts.
   The newly-weds left by auto later this afternoon, for Lake George, where the honeymoon will be spent.
   Mrs. Sublk, who was graduated from Johnstown High school with the 1943 class, has been feted at several pre-nuptiel showers. For the past year and a half she has been clerk in the People's Bank.
  The bridegroom also is a Johnstown High graduate, class of 1941. With his father and brother he is operating the two farms owned by the family a few miles west of the city.
   Both young people are popular among a wide circle of friends as indicated by the vast array of wedding gifts which include money, linens, blankets, silver, glassware, electrical appliances and rugs. Their friends unite in extending best wishes.

  Miss Catharine Ann Ford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ford of 44 Miller Street, was united in marriage to David M. Subik, of Johnson Avenue Extension, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Subik of 22 Rosewood Avenue, at 1 Saturday afternoon at St. Anthony's Church. Rev. Andrew B. Cekovjsky, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
   The altar of the church was decorated with white Chrysanthemums and Gladiolas. Mrs. Ann Solar, organist, played traditional wedding music.
   The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of white velvet over taffeta desifmed with a circle neckline, fitted bodice, bracelet length sleeves trimmed with white fur and an A-line skirt with a full detachable chapel length train. Her bouffant veil of silk illusion was attached to a fur pillbox hat and she carried a bouquet of white mums and baby carnations.
   Miss Donna Fox of Johnstown, maid of honor, wore an aqua full length gown of saki and crepe over taffeta designed with a circle neckline, fitted bodice, long sleeves with a row of daisies accenting to semi-empire waistline. Her bouffant veil was attached to a crown of white pearls and daisies and she carried a bouquet of Bronze and Rust mums.
   Miss Julie Ann Burtman of Johnstown, bridesmaid, wore a gown designed the same as the maid of honor only in gold and carried a bouquet of yellow and white mums.
   Robert Wilbur of Pine Lake was best man and Phillip Palmateer of Johnstown and Michael Subik Jr., brother of the bridegroom, were ushers.
   The mother of the bride wore a pink sheath dress with a matching coat and a white feather hat and a cymbidium orchid corsage.
  The mother of the bridegroom wore an olive green wool sheath with brown accessories and a cymbidium orchid corsage.
   A reception for 75 was held from 2 to 4 in the afternoon at the home of the bride's parents. Guests attended from Johnstown. Gloversville, Endicott, New Jersey, Buffalo, Albany and Fonda.
   For her wedding trip through the New England states, the bride wore a gold wool suit, white feather hat and an orchid corsage.
   The bride is a gradaute of Johnstown High School and is employed at Gates-Mills, Inc.
   The bridegroom is a graduate of Johnstown High School and a dairy farmer.

  Miss Cheryl Kowalski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kowalski of Middletown was honored at a bridal shower at the Holiday Inn Monday night.
   A supper was served to the 33 guest attending the shower. The decorations were in pink and white. Prizes were awarded and the bride received gifts.
   Hostess for the party was Mrs. Michael J. Subik, mother of the bridegroom.
   Miss Kowalski will be married to Michael A. Subik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Subik of 22 Rosewood Avenue, on Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Anthony's Church.

  Miss Cheryl Kowalski of 34 North Market Street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Kowalski of New Hampton, Orange County, became the bride of Michael A. Subik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Subik of 22 Rosewood Avenue, at a ceremony at 2 Saturday afternoon in St. Anthony's Church.
   Rev. John L. Cairns, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony. The altar of the church was decorated with arrangements of orchid and white gladioli, and the family pews were marked with satin bows.
   Mrs. Anna Solar, organist, played the wedding music with James Subik of Johnstown, cousin of the bridegroom, as vocal soloist. The selections included "Our Father," "We've Only Just Begun," "Because," and "For All We Know."
   The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown of nylon organza over taffeta. A chapel train extended from a fitted bodice having a sweetheart neckline above a sheer yoke and sheer sleeves. It was accented with Chantilly lace panels on the front of the gown and an organza rose above the train.
 Her veil was 3-tier elbow length and the attached headpiece was of organza roses and petals. She carried a semi-cascade bouquet of white miniature carnations centered with Georgiana orchids.
   Mrs. Robert Praetorius of Portlandville was matron of honor and wore a pant gown of aqua and lavender georgette over taffeta. The bodice had a high rise neckline with long puffed sleeves, and the pant skirt was a floral print. She wore a matching headpiece of bouffant veils in lavender and carried an open colonial bouquet of lavender daisies and purple asters edged with white gladioli petals.
   Robert Praetorius was best man. Ushers were Robert Subik of Johnstown, cousin of the bridegroom, and Clarke Subik of Johnstown, brother of the bridegroom.
   For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Kowalski wore a rose polyester crepe gown with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The mother of the bridegroom wore a gown of azure blue eyelet with long sheer sleeves fitted at the wrist with blue velvet trim, and a corsage  of blue carnations.
   After the ceremony a reception for 75 was held at the Circle In. Decorations were white and purple gladioli and music was provided by Mrs. Edna Solloway. Guests attended from Johnstown, Gloversville, New Hampton, West Winfield, Goshen, Wawarsing, Campbell Hall, Middletown, and Mystic, Conn.
   For the wedding trip to the New England States, the bride wore a pink polyester A-line dress with white accessories and a corsage of two white Georgiana orchids.
   The couple will reside on Johnson Avenue Extension.
   Attendants were presented gifts at a rehearsal party Friday night at the home of the bridegroom's parents.
   Among showers given for the bride was one July 16 by the bridegroom's mother and another at her mother's home by her sister, Miss Karen Kowalski, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Edward R. Kowalski, both of New Hampton.
   The bride was a 1969 graduate of Minisink Valley Central School in Slate Hill and attended the State University Oneonta. She is currently substitute teaching for schools in the area.
  The bridegroom was graduated from Johnstown High School and the State University at Oneonta. He will begin teaching this September at Fort Plain Central /school.

  The altar was decorated with white gladioli, candles lined the aisle and the pews were adorned with white bows. The organist Carol Capper, Fort Plain, played the traditional wedding music.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white Sata peau draped over taffeta. Her high rise neckline was adorned with a wedding ring collar of scalloped Venise lace, while the fitted bodice was designed with rows of matching lace and bridal buttons in the front. Her softly controlled skirt was accented with three rows of matching lace and she wore a cathedral length mantilla edged entirely with matching scalloped lace. She carried ivy, an orchid and stephanotis on a Bible.
  The maid of honor was Miss Rachel Johnson, Cherry Valley, while the bridesmaids were Miss Ellen Armitstead, Fort Plain RD 3, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Sandy Douglas, Canajoharie RD 2.
   The maid of honor was attired in a full length gown of georgette over tafetta in romance blue with a high rise neckline of white lace over satin ribbon. It was designed with a fitted bodice and long puffed sleeves, while her A-line skirt was edged at the hemline with matching lace over satin. She wore a matching Dior bow and bouffant veil.
  The bridesmaids were similarly attired in gowns of petal blue. The attendants carried bouquets of carnations matching their gowns.
  The bride’s mother chose a gown of georgette over taffeta. The ring collar and mini-yoke, were hand-embroidered with pearls and matching beads. It was styled with long puffed sleeves and a semi-fitted skirt with matching overlay with a matching carnation corsage.
  Deo Young, Fort Plain, was the best man. Ushers were Charles Armitstead and Clark
Douglas.
  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Canajoharie Municipal building. Tom Canfield and his band provided the music.
  The bride is a graduate of Cherry Valley Central School and Oswego State University College. She presently is employed by the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Canajoharie.
  The bridegroom is a graduate of Canajoharie Central School and the Syracuse School of Embalming. He is employed by Central National Bank, Canajoharie.

William John McLoughlin

  TROY—William J. McLoughlin, a current resident of Shaker Pointe at Carondelet and a long-time resident of Troy, passed unexpectedly from this life on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the age of 78. Born in Troy on October 9, 1940, Bill was the son of the late Earl and Helen (Casey) McLoughlin. He was educated in School 2; St. Peter's Academy and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of 1958. Bill furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he earned a Masters degree in business administration. He later earned a Masters degree in public administration from Russell Sage College.
  Bill was an Army veteran and had served his country from 1961 until 1967. He was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation for 36 years and retired in 1995 as chief transportation project manager.
  Bill was a former member of the Troy Board of Education on which he served for seven years and from 1972-1976 he was president. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 516 Twin Rivers Council. Bill also had served on the Albany Roman Catholic Diocesan Pastoral Council. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed woodworking, picture framing and cooking. He loved his family and enjoyed the times spent with them both at home and at the family camp at Sacandaga Lake. Bill was a parishioner of the University Parish of Christ Sun of Justice at RPI and had formerly served as Trustee of the Rensselaer Newman Foundation.
  Bill is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother John McLoughlin.
  A funeral Mass for Bill will be celebrated by the Reverend Edward Kacerguis on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel+Cultural Center at RPI, 2125 Burdett Avenue, Troy. The Rite of Committal and interment will be held privately.

   The bridegroom's brother, Earl T. McLoughlin, Jr., of Troy acted as best man. Another brother, John Mclaughlin of Green Island, Thomas Myslow of Sherman, Conn., Anthony Costantino and Mr. Caponera of Albany were ushers.
   After a reception at The Ambassador in Albany, Mr. and Mrs. McLoughlin left for a motor trip through New England. They will be at home at 364 Eighth Street in Troy after Oct. 22.

   Miss Ella Jane Wohlgemuth, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Judith Ann Lasher, Germantown, and Miss Thelma Olmstead, Canajoharie, were bridesmaids. Miss Bonnie Case, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
   Donald A. Vedder of Johnstown, was best man and William Russo and Richard Wells were ushers.
   The bride's mother wore a black velvet dress trimmed with white satin and seed pearls and white accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue taffeta dress trimmed with black velvet and black accessories. Both wore lavender colored orchid corsages.
   Mrs. Case is a graduate of Fultonville High School, class of 1952, and is employed as an operator of the General Telephone Company of Upstate New York. The bridegroom is a graduate of Johnstown High School. He is employed by the R. Douglas Boyd financing concern, Gloversville.

  Leonard C. Wohlgemuth, 64, of Broad Street, died Friday, April 23, at home with his family present.
   He was born Sept. 1939, in Amsterdam, the son of Donald C. and Alma Wohlgemuth of Canajoharie.
   Leonard attended Canajoharie Elementary School, Fultonville Junior High School and Fonda-Fultonville High School.
   He enlisted in the Navy in 1958. He graduated from Great Lakes Naval Training Center and served at Barber's Point Naval Station in Hawaii.
   Leonard married the former Delores Zannitto of Fonda on May 7, 1960, at St. Cecilia's Church, Fonda.
   He was awarded the Navy's Good Conduct Medal in 1961 and was honorably discharged from the Navy in December 1962.
   Leonard moved to Fonda after his discharge. He and Delores raised three children. Leonard worked for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for 44 years and retired as a machinist in 2003.
   He was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter and gardener. He enjoyed skiing, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and horses. He also enjoyed attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
   Leonard was a member of American Legion Post 39 in Amsterdam, the Canajoharie Eagles Aerie, the Canajoharie Country Club, the Beech-Nut Bowling League, and BCT Union Local 50.
   Leonard was also a communicant at St. Cecilia's Church.
   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Layna Maher of Fonda; two sons and their wives, Leonard and Rose Wohlgemuth of Neptune, NJ, and Larry and Debbie Wohlgemuth of Rotterdam; four grandchildren, James, John, and Joseph Maher of Fonda and Lauren Wohlgemuth of Neptune, NJ; three sisters, Joan Esparza of Tucson, AZ, Ella Olmstead of Cummings, GA, and Donna Cruz of Norwich; an aunt, Jane Moulton of South Glens Falls; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda, NY. Burial will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held that day at 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Leonard's memory to the American Cancer Society or to St. Cecilia's Church Memorial Fund.

The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Damian Miller, OFM, Ckav.
pastor.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white nylon tulle trimmed with lace with an illusion neckline and lace collar. Her waist length veil fell from a crown of pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of white roses with a white orchid center showered with rosebuds.
Mrs. Tulllo Palleschi, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and wore an emerald green silk organza gown with fitted bodice and gathered skirt. Her headpiece was a crown of silk mesh with pearls on the top with a circular veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses centered with an orchid.
  The other attendants were Miss Catherine Zannitto, sister of the bride, Miss Kay Hammond, Long Island; Miss Joann Keller and Miss Mary Lusso. Fultonville, and Mrs. Joan Case of Ravena, sister of the bridegroom. They wore gowns identical to the matron of honor in wood violet and carried bouquets of yellow roses centered with an
orchid.
  Tuluo Palleschl, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Ushers were John Compani, Fonda, nephew of the bride; Robert Barker, Randall; Louis De Traglia, Fonda; Douglas Case, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Ravena, and Kenneth Olmstead, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Fultonville.
  The church was decorated with white gladioli, white pompoms pams with a white carpet on the aisle.
  Mrs. Richard De Santis, organist played "On This Day O Beautiful Mother and "Ave Maria" Ernest Di Prospero of Amsterdam sang "Ave Maria."
  The bride's mother was gowned in a blue lace dress and wore an orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother chose a light blue dress with an orchid corsage.
  A reception was held at the Community Hall. A breakfast preceded the ceremony at the bride's home.
  Mrs. Wohlgemuth is a graduate of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School and was employed at Amsterdam City Hospital. Wohlgemuth also graduated from the Central School and is stationed with the Navy at Balbers Point in Hawaii.
  Mr. and Mrs. Wohlgemuth left by plane at Albany Monday for Hawaii where they will reside for two and one-half. years. For traveling the bride wore a white suit with black and white accessories and an orchid corsage.
  A party was held following the rehearsal Friday night at the home of the bridegroom's parents.
