Miss Judith A Nellis, daughter of Carleton V. Nellis of Northville and Mrs. Ruth Moray of Piseco was united in marriage to Roy D. Palmateer of Johnstown RD, son of Mrs. Helen Whipple of Johnstown RD and Russell Palmateer of Gloversville RD, at 7 Thursday night, Nov. 11 at the First Methodist Church, Northville.
Rev. George H. Klohck, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Donald Cheney of Gloversville, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.
Milton Meyers of Syracuse was the best man. The ushers were Russell Palmateer Jr. brother of the bridegroom of Hope and David Johnson of Gloversville.
A reception for 75 guests was held at the Northville Fish and Game Club Rooms following the ceremony.
The bride attended the Northville Central School and is employed at the Idle Hour Restaurant, Johnstown. The bridegroom is a graduate of Mayfield Central School and attended Victorville College in California. He is now in service and is stationed at George Air Force Base, California.
The couple will be at home after January at Apple Valley, Calif.
Guests were present from Syracuse, Sharon Springs, St. Johnsville, Piseco, Fonda, Hope, Johnstown, Gloversville, Mayfield and Northville.

Marriage Notes for Kenneth Zemken and Sunday D Blodgett
-Wedding Announcement (Leader-Herald, Gloversville-Johnstown, NY, Saturday, August 31, 1974)
Miss Sunday D. Blodgett, daughter of Mrs. June Blodgett of Perth and the late Donald Blodgett, was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Zemken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zemken of 24 North Melcher Street, at a ceremony last Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Alice Stein, 58 East Main Street.
An archway of pine boughs, white daisies and wedding bells provided the setting for the double ring ceremony performed by Town of Johnstown Justice Emeron Maneth. Mrs. Stein played "The Wedding March" and other selections at the organ.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Albert Lee of Gloversville. She wore a pale yellow crepe Empire-waisted gown trimmed with white lace. It was designed with a chapel train.
The bride's headpiece was a crown of daisies, white sweetheart roses and baby's breath from which hung yellow satin streamers. She carried a bouquet of similar flowers.
Mrs. Pamela Lee of Gloversville, sister of the bride, was attendant in a gray-blue gown and matching headpiece. She wore a corsage of yellow roses.
Rebecca Zemken of Johnstown, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl in a rose taffeta gown and matching headpiece. She carried a nosegay bouquet of mixed summer flowers.
The mother of the bride wore a purple chiffon dress. The mother of the bridegroom wore a pale blue crepe dress.
After the ceremony a dinner was served to the wedding party and members of the immediate families at the Rainbow Restaurant.
The bride was honored at a recent patio shower at the home of Mrs. Stein with another sister of the bride, Mrs. Thomas Ambrosino of Gloversville assisting.
The bride attended Gloversville schools. The bridegroom attended Johnstown schools. He is employed by the Yost Moble Home Trailer Court at 69 Chestnut Street, where the couple is residing.

Miss Gladys E. Handy, 90, formerly of School Street, Nelliston, New York died, Monday, August 15, 2011 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, NY. Born on August 30, 1920 in the Town of Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Lester Handy and Mary Mowrey Handy. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1938 and was a lifelong area resident. Miss Handy was employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, working in the office for 35 years until 1981. She later worked part-time at the Nelliston Post Office for 10 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church. Miss Handy was a past member of the Mohawk Valley Women's Business and Professional Club.
She is survived by her son Brian D. Handy of PA; grandson, David M. Handy of Canajoharie, NY; niece, Michele Whiteman and her husband Ed, who were her devoted caretakers, of Nelliston, NY; 1 niece, 1 nephew; several cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews; her cats, Tiger and Lil One.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:00am at Fort Plain Cemetery with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Mrs. Doris H. Jarvis, 73, of Rocky Ridge Loop, Canyon Lake, Texas, died suddenly August 2, 2007 at her home.
She was born in Nelliston, New York, on December 6, 1933 the daughter of Lester Handy and Mary Mowrey Handy. Doris was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1951 and received as AAS Degree in Dental Hygiene from SUNY Farmingdale in 1953. Doris was most recently employed as a dental hygienist for Dr. A.F. Pineyro for over 30 years, previously working for Dr. William Meuhleck for over 20 years. Doris was a life long area resident previously of Northern Terrace, Fort Plain, NY, until recently moving to Texas with her husband. She worked for the Democratic Woman of the Town of Minden for over 10 years and served as an election inspector. Doris was a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church; served as a Deacon of the Fort Plain Reformed Church and was a choir member, she also served as President, Vice President and Secretary for the former Business & and; Professional Women's Club. Doris and Everett were first married on May 13, 1955 and then again on July 1, 2007 at the Fort Plain Reformed Church.
She is survived by her husband, Everett A. Jarvis of Canyon Lake, Texas; her children, Kay A. Moylan of Fort Plain, New York; Gary F. Jarvis of Albany, New York and Michele J. and her husband Edward Whiteman of Nelliston, New York; step children, Christine Freburg, Renee Montgomery, Lynn Jarvis and Marc Jarvis; a sister, Gladys Handy of Nelliston, New York; four granddaughters, Marla and her husband, Shane Lathers, April Moylan, Jolene and her husband, Kyle Carpenter, and Robin Landefeld and her husband, Robert Stine; two grandsons, Jeremy and Justin Whiteman; step grandchildren, Tracey Freburg, Eddy Freburg, Whitney Jarvis, Rylee Jarvis, Donell Montgomery, and Josh Sierra; three great grandchildren, Maecee Lathers, Dylann and Tyler Landefeld; a nephew, Brian Handy; She was predeceased by her parents and step mother, Lottie Handy.
A 10:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Fort Plain Reformed Church, 165 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. There are no calling hours. CANAJOHARIE - Miss Catherine Margaret Ellerby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine W. Ellerby, Sr., 20 Rock street, Canajoharie, was united in marriage August 20 to William David Jones, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Jones, Sr., 10 Lincoln street, Fort Plain.
The marriage was performed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, by the Rev. Kenneth Dingman.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a princess type gown with a lace overlay and long sleeves and a long French illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of daisies and summer flowers trimmed in white.
Serving as maid of honor was Mrs. Cynthia Ellerby, the bride's sister-in-law. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Patricia Boyer and Mrs. Gail Higgins.
The best man was Valentine Ellerby, Jr., brother of the bride. James Higgins ushered.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Canajoharie Moose Lodge where the couple cut a large tiered wedding cake made by Mrs. Helen Hoetzer.
The couple is residing at 17 Rock street, Canajoharie.
