  Piercy Kay Reibsamen, FAFI, passes from this life peacefully at home on September 11, 2017 of natural causes. He was 89, P.K. was born June 30, 1928, the onlyu child of Piercy F. Reibsamen and Grayce C. Dickinson, in Britt, IA. they moved to Long Beach CA. in 1945.
  He studied engineering at Long Beach CC, and graduated from CSU Polytechnic San Luis Obispo, 1952, with a BS, Architectural Engeering. In September 1952 he married Jacquelyn Andre, of San Luis Obispo, and moved to Los Angeles to begin married life, a alifelong career, and a family.
  In 1959, P.K. was named Assoc. Partner and Dir. of Archirtecture at Honnoid and Rex, Architects. He became managing partner in 1968, and served as president of the succeeding firm of Reibsamen, Nickels and Rex. He directed the sucdessful completion of many landmark projects and received of many award of excellence of design and execution from the architectual profession and civic organizations.
  From 1966, P.K. was a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects, astive in Educationa and Professional Development committees. He lectured and critiqued at Schools of Architecture and Environmental Design for CSU Cal Poly and UC Berkley and serves as library design consultant for UCLA and faculty advisor USC.
  P.C. was presented the 2004 Octavivus Morgan Distinguished Service Award for hi ssignificant volunteer contributions - as a commissioner for 40 years - to the California Architects Board. His interest in the education anad training of new architects led him to work in developing standards and evaluations for the profession.
  P.K. and his second wife, Jackie, moved to Valencia in 1988. He joined the Sunrise Rotary Club, where he was the editor of the newsletter, served as treasurer, and flipped pancakes for breakfasts for many years. He designed the SCV Veteran's Historical Plazza. He contributed many hours to the SCV Senior Center. He received commemorations from L.A. county and CA State Assembly for his service on the Board of Directors of the Sam Dixon Foundation. He served as tresurer until he resigned in 2017.
  P.K. Reibsamen will be missed for his strength and character, and mourned for his humanity by peers, associates, friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his children, Andrea Reibsamen (spouse Stephen Doyle), Venice, CA; Christopher Reibsamen (spouse Suzy), Moorpark, CA; Matthew Reibsamen (spouse  Michele), Fallon, NV; his stepsons, Stewart Sher (spouse Judy), West Hills; and David Sher (spouse Carol Lynn), Sylmar; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.

  PLAINFIELD - George James Dickinson, 56, died Feb. 17, 1997, in Plainfield.
  Dickinson was married to Ruth (Grant) Dickinson. she survives.
  Dickinson retired in 1993 after 25 years as assistant purchasing agent for Indianapolis Public Schools, He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Dickinson was a member of St. Luke's Church in Plainfield, Sertoma, and Purchasing Agents Association.
  Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Tanya Dickinson-Mahan; one sister, Shirley Faye Dickinson; and one grandaughter.
  Services were held Feb. 20 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Plainfield.

  TERRIL - susan Renee Schomaker and Mark Dean Phillips were united in marriage Sunday, July 10, at Wesley Place, Spirit Lake with Rev. Merlin Mather officiating.
  Partents of the couple ar Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schomaker, Terril, Melvin Phillips, Spencer and Mrs. Ted (Mary) Thelan, Spirit Lake.
  Given in marriage by her father and mother, Susan wore a mid-length sundress of white euelet trimmed with ribbon in shades of pink. She carried an arrangement of white carnations and pink rosebuds.
  The groom wore a dark green liesure suit with white carnation boutonniere.
  Matron of Honor and Best Man were the bride's brother and sister-in-law Steve and Bonnie Schomaker, Terril. Her dress was a blue floral knit.
  A reception was held in the Wesley Friendship Hall after the ceremony. Mrs. Duane Dodge and Mrs. Dale Schomaker were in charge of teh guest book and gifts. Penny Schomaker dipped punch and Brenda Tuttle served coffee.
  The three tier wedding cake decorated with pink dasieswas baked by Mrs. Pete Jepsen. Pink candles and crystal service accented the tea table.
  Guests were members of the couple's families: Mr and Mrs. Ron Schomaker, Murray, Penny and JoDee; Mel Phillips and Monty, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Telan, spirit Lake; grandparents, Mrs. Belle Schomaker, Sheldon; Mrs. Bonnie Higgins and Pete, Estherville; and Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Philips, Spirit Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Schomaker, Mr. and Mrs, Dale Schomaker and Jason.   Memorial services for Billie K. Schomaker, age 74 of Bloomfield, Nebraska, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lindy, Nebraska, with Pastor Kelley Pedersen officiating.
  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the church.
  Brockhaus Funeral Home of Bloomfield are in charge of arrangements.
  Mr. Schomaker died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield.
  Billie Kay Schomaker, son of Bill Karsten Schomaker and Arabelle Faye Dickenson, was born October 7, 1938, at Linn Grove, Iowa. Billie attended elementary school in Greenville, Iowa, and later attended high school at Rossie, Iowa. In 1960, he was married to Patricia Ann Borchard at Jackson, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with five children: Stephanie, Kristi, Wendy, John, and Darci. Billie started out his career working at Spencer Dairy in Spencer, Iowa. After the dairy, he worked as a mechanic for Case Implement and as a salesman for many years. Billie was also a hired hand for various farmers throughout the years, and owned and operated his own commercial cage systems company. Later in life after retirement, Billie worked as a greens keeper at Rolling Hills Country Club near Bloomfield, Nebraska. He also worked as a retail salesperson at Broadway Billie's Liquor and Convenience Store, which was named after him.
  Billie was a member of the Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He served in the Marine Corps for four years. Billie loved woodworking, golfing, gardening, playing poker, watching football, helping on the farm, and spending time with his family.
  Billie is survived by his children: Stephanie Peterson of Spencer, Iowa, Kristi Herrill of Spencer, Iowa, Wendy (Carl) McFarland of Mason City, Iowa, John Schomaker of Bloomfield, Nebraska, and Darci (Carsten) Barger of Bloomfield, Nebraska; siblings, Marybelle (Bob) Rhinehart of Baudette, Minnesota, Jack (Mary) Schomaker of Greenville, Iowa, and Jane (Cliff) Huss of Palm Bay, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patrician Ann Schomaker; parents; and two brothers, Ronnie and David Schomaker.

  David Lynn Schomaker, 68, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at his home in Avilla.
  Mr. Schomaker was born and raised on a farm in Spencer, Iowa, on March 31, 1943, to the late Bill and Belle (Dickerson) Schomaker. He married Uthelene Conley on Oct. 25, 1980, at the Community Baptist Church near South Milford. Dave was a semi truck driver for 40 years. He was employed with JB Hunt Transportation for 10 years. Before that, he drove semi for the Tyson Corporation for many years. In his earlier days, Dave worked with his dad on the farm and drove a school bus. He also owned and operated a trucking company. He loved going to church at Harbor Of Love Baptist Church where he faithfully attended. Dave loved fishing, watching NASCAR, and cooking and shopping with Brenda. He loved gardening and giving away all the vegetables from it. He enjoyed spending time in his garage, tinkering and fixing things and riding his moped all around town Avilla. Dave especially loved all his grandchildren and going to their ballgames and different events. He also loved his cat Sugar, and watching his favorite shows, Storage Wars and Swamp People, on television. He simply enjoyed being with people, making new friends, and sharing a good laugh or two.
  Survivors include his wife, Uthelene Schomaker of Avilla; two daughters, Brenda and Lynn Lash of Avilla and Jennifer Schomaker of Kendallville; two sons, Darris Schomaker of Queen Creek, Ariz., and David Schomaker Jr. of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Courtney and Alisha Schomaker of Mesa, Abbey Schomaker and a grandson James Ross, both of Kendallville, Ashley and Nathan Rodenbeck of Avilla and Aaron Lash and Austin Lash, both of Avilla; a great-granddaughter, Aryanna Rodenbeck; two sisters, Jane and Cliff Huss of Palm Beach, Fla., and Marybelle Rhinehart of Minn.; two brothers, Billy Schomaker of Nebraska and Jack Schomaker of Spencer, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Schomaker.
  Funeral Services will be Tuesday at noon at Harbor Of Love Baptist Church, at Lisbon Road and S.R. 3, south of Kendallville, with Pastor Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County, north of Wolcottville. Casketbearers will be Lynn Lash, Aaron Lash, Austin Lash, Nathan Rodenbeck and Darris Schomaker. Calling will be Monday after 4 p.m. at Harbor Of Love Baptist Church. There will be an evening service at 7 p.m. Preferred memorials may be made to family.

  Uthelene (Conley) Schomaker, age 76, of Avilla, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at her daughter's home. Mrs. Schomaker was born in Quicksand, Kentucky to the late Rev. Golden and Mae (Handshoe) Conley on July 16, 1944.
  She married David Lynn Schomaker on October 25, 1980 at the Community Baptist Church near Wolcottville.
  David preceded her in death on December 21, 2011.
  Survivors include: Daughter, Brenda and Lynn Lash of Avilla. Stepdaughter, Jennifer Schomaker of Kendallville and her companion, Duane. Stepson, Darris and Vicki Schomaker of Queen City, Arizona. Stepson, David and Jill Schomaker of Oak Park, Illinois. Three grandchildren, four step grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother, Willie and Wilma Conley of Stroh. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean McNamara; brothers, Cline Conley, Finley Conley and infant, Herman Conley.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 12 noon at Harbor of Love Baptist Church with visitation at 10:30 AM prior to the service. Pastors Charles Mosley and Matt West will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County.

  James H Brewer, 57, of 8 Waverly Pl . Wendsday, October 12, 1977 in St Luke's Memorial Hospital Center after a short illness.
  He was born in Litchfield, the son of Ray and Katherine Berberich Brewer, and was educated in local schools. In 1940, in the Town of Columbia, he married Gloria Draper. He was employed by the Associated Transport Company for 23 years, retiring in 1971, and was a member, of Local No, 181. Teamsters Union.
  Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs Katherine Kistner of Utica; two sons, Richard of Richfield Springs and Michael Brewer of Florida, two sisters. Mrs. Carleton (Mary)
Pryor of Cedar Lake, Mrs. Frances Griffiths of North Winfield, ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

  Miss Etta E. Knowles, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Douglas B. Knowles of Stratford Conn., became the bride of Daniel Paul Good, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Good of Watervllet, on Saturday.
  The wedding was held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at First Methodist Church in Stratford. Rev. Melville S. Blumer officiated. A single arrangement of white gladioli, snapdragons and lemon leaves was on the altar. Miss Ellen C. Williams, organist, offered traditional music.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ice blue peau de sole, princess style, with scoop neckline and three-quarter sleeves, The ballerina skirt was accented at the back with a draped pouf. Her veil was attached to a cloched of matching peau de sol, trimmed with pearls. She carried a cascade of gardenias and stephanotis.
  Mrs. Stewart Y. Knowles, sister in law of the bride, and matron of honor, wore a gown of bluebird peau de sol in similar style to the bride's, and a feathered pillbox hat and accessories of contrasting hue. Her bouquet was a cascade of pink sweetheart roses.
  Adam J. Good was best man for his brother. The ushers were David. J. Good, also a brother of the bridegroom, and Stewart Y. Knowles, brother of the bride.
  The mother of the bride wore a gown of Dior blue peau de sol with a white petalled hat and a corsage of white roses.
  The reception was held in the church, after which the newlyweds left on a wedding trip through Southern New England
  Mr. and Mrs. Good will reside at 908 McClellan street after Feb. 24. The bride is minister of Christian education at Trinity Methodist Church and the bridegroom is associated with the Albany office of Cargill Inc., of Minneapolis.

  Turin – Orrin W. Hill, 81, longtime resident of Lyman St., passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Luke's Home, New Hartford, following a brief illness.
  Orrin was born on September 26, 1934 in Lowville, a son of Miles and Mary Reed Hill. He spent his younger years in Turin and Rome, where he graduated from Rome Free Academy with the Class of 1952. Following graduation he worked as an auto mechanic for area car dealerships.
  On September 10, 1955 Mr. Hill was united in marriage with Helen Bowers at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rome. Orrin was drafted into the US Army in March 1957 serving until 1959. While stationed in Alaska, Orrin was a member of the Army Rifle Team. The couple moved to their current home on Lyman St. in 1960, where they raised their family and have since lived. Orrin was recalled into active duty in 1961 serving until his honorable discharge in August 1962. For several years Orrin was employed for the Hall Ski Lift Co., Watertown, retiring as shop supervisor in 1995. Mrs. Hill passed away on November 6, 2005.
  Orrin was an avid sportsman and enjoyed the time he spent hunting and fishing, especially around his log cabin camp on Tug Hill. For a time he served as secretary of the Fairchild Hunting Club, Turin. Orrin was proud of his lifetime membership in the NRA.
  He is survived by his daughters; granddaughter and great-grandchildren who he greatly adored; his brothers, his brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Helen, Orrin was predeceased by his brother Parmer, and special cousins Keith and Jeanne Gleasman.
  Interment with military honors will be held in Turin Cemetery in the spring...

  CLINTON- Robert “Bob” Miles Hill ,84, of Clinton NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home in Whitesboro.
  Bob was born November 3, 1936 in Lowville, NY, the son of Miles and Mary (Reed) Hill. He spent much of his early childhood with his parents in Turin, NY. In 1942, the family moved to Rome NY. In 1954, he graduated from Rome Free Academy; where he enjoyed and “lettered” in football and baseball.
  In 1957, Robert enlisted in United States Air Force and received Honorable Discharge for his service in 1958. Bob married Gail T. McGuire in 1993. They have enjoyed many happy and beautiful years living in Clinton and spending winters in Florida. For twenty-five years, they enjoyed golfing and were members of Barker Brook Golf Course in Oriskany Falls NY. Golfing was a passion of Bob’s that he shared with family and friends. Also, he enjoyed watching and attending New York Yankee games with family and friends. For thirty-five years, he was a member of the Roman-Hathaway Lodge 233 Free Accepted Masons in Rome NY.
  In 1985, Bob graduated from SUNY in Marcy with a B.A in Human Services, then in 1992 he received a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. For several years, Bob was a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor for New York State. He worked in the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for Rome Developmental Center and developed EAP for Madison-Oneida County BOCES. Also, he worked for McPike Alcohol Treatment Center in Utica, NY as Clinical Director and counselor for ten years, retiring from this position in 1995.
  Robert worked as the Director of the Alcohol Crisis Center of the Utica Rescue Mission. In 1999, he was presented with the Amethyst Award; this award is given to a member of the community as recognition for having made a significant contribution to the fields of mental health and chemical dependency. Also was Interim Director for The Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism. For forty-five years, Bob was a “friend of Bill W.”. In 1995, Bob, his wife and friends attended the World A.A. Conference in San Diego, California.
  Robert Hill will be remembered as a loving devoted husband, father, family man and friend. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Hill; his three children and their spouses, Colleen & Normand Provost (Whitesboro NY), Mark & Sue Hill (Altamont NY), and Randall & Vicki Hill (Sherburne NY); two step-children, James R. McGuire (Utica NY) & Kelly McGuire (Deansboro NY). His sister-in-law, Barbara Hill; brother-in-law, David Timian; and his former wife, Joyce Spencer Hill. He cherished his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Was predeceased by his three brothers; Orrin Hill and his wife Helen, Parmer Hill and Thomas Hill.
  A graveside service and interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton and at a later date to be announced. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to R.P. Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 10 East Park Row, Clinton.
  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made in his name “Robert M. Hill” to Hospice & Palliative Care Inc in New Hartford NY.

  He was born in Lowville the son of Miles and Mary Reed Hill.
  Parmer H. Hill, 68, of Rome, died on Sunday, February 24, 2008 in Faxton-
  St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford.
  He was born in Lowville the son of Miles and Mary Reed Hill.
  Parmer was a graduate of Rome Free Academy Class of 1957.
  On April 18, 1970 he married Barbara Olmstead in St. Paul's Church.
  He was Assistant Manager of Uni Select- Parts Plus and previously owned and operated along with his wife, Right Parts Corporation of Yorkville, for over twenty-five years.
  Parmer served in the United States Army.
  He attended St. Paul's Church and was a member of the Rome Bowling Hall of Fame and enjoyed golfing and photography. He was an avid sports fan, especially RFA Football.
  Surviving besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Parmer of Detroit; Christopher and Amy, Rome; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Orrin, Turin; Robert and Gail, Clinton; Thomas and Karen, Peterboro. He was loved by two grandsons, Tanner and Timothy, and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc.,418 N. George Street, Rome Thursday 11:00A.M. Interment Westernville Cemetery.

  Clair E. Pettit, 75 of Lake Wales, Fla., native of Johnson City, NY and moved from Newark Valley, NY to Florida 6 years ago, died Monday, September 2, 1996 at home. Survived by his wife, Nadine Peittit, Lake Wales; a son Larry W. Pettit, Owego, NY; two daughters, Cheryl Pitcher, Norridgewock, Maine and Janine Adams, Harpursville, NY; seven grandchildren. He retired form IBM Corp.; he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.

Marriage Notes for Nadine Helen Winslow and Clair Ellsworth Pettit

 - Wedding Announcement (Journal and Republican, Lowville, NY, Thursday March 5, 1942)
  Miss Nadine Helen Winslow, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Winslow of Johnson City and Clair Ellsworth Pettit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pettit. Johnson City were married Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21, in the All Saints Episcopal Church by the Rev. Walter M. Higley. Mrs. Pettit is a former resident of Turin having lived here with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Higby, moving to Johnson City about five years ago following her grandmother’s death. The church was decorated with daffodils, smilax and acacia and potted palms. The wedding music was played by Mrs. William J. Lucas, and Walter Lunt sang “Ava Maria” and “Calm As the Night.” They were attended by the bride’s sister, Miss Janice Winslow, and Harold Winters. The ushers were William J. Lucas and G. Frederick Stone. The bride who was given away by her father wore an Alice blue faille suit with a matching hat and black accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses and deep rose chattered carnations. Her sister wore a dusty pink suit with a matching hat and black accessories, and corsage of blue bachelor buttons and shattered pink carnations. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the IBM Country Club for the immediate families and the bridal party. Mr. and Mrs. Pettit left on a motor trip and upon their return they will reside in Johnson City.
