FRANKFORT _ SCHUYLER - Mr. Paul Bunce, 76, of 3588 State Route 5, passed away Friday, July 11, 2003, in Faxton Hospital.
He was born in Ilion Jan. 18, 1927, the son of the late Paul and Clara Miller Bunce and attended Frankfort-Schuyler schools. He was married to Jane Rowell Oct. 12, 1945, in Frankfort.
Paul is survived bvy his beloved wife, Mary Jane Bunce; also by five daughters and son-sin-law, Sherry and Blase De Sano of Frankfort, Evelyn and Jack Mower, Mary Lou and Robert Louis, all of Schuyler, Paula and Alan Ricci of Florida and Sheila and James La Fountain of Schuyler; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothe Ulysses Bunce and two sisters, Vera Bunce and Ruth Congdon.
Interment wil be in East Schuyler Cemetery.

Miss Evelyn J. Bunce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bunce Jr., Schuyler, became the bride of John James Mower, son of Mr. Glenn Mower, 4 Warren Road, Mohawk, on July 1 in the Frankfort Methodist Church.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Karen Hughes was her maid of honor. Attending as bridesmalds were Mrs. Vonnie Louis, Mrs. Patricia Roberts, the bridegroom's sister, and Miss Mary Lou Bunce bride's sister. Carrie Waseleski, the bridegroom's niece, served as flower girl.
Daniel Hughes, Schuyler, was Mr. Bower's [sic] best man and Lloyd Hight, William Mower, the bridegroom's brother, and Donald Louis, Herkimer, were the ushers. Master James Jacobs Jr., the bridegroom's nephew, was ring bearer.
The bride is employed by the General Electric Co. and her husband is with the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. They will make their home in Mohawk.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Miss Doris M. Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis E. Wood, and Arthur G. Miller, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. Miller, all of Richfield Springs, were married Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. C. Frederic Fraser, pastor.
The bride's cousin. Miss Mildred Bailey, of Cedarville, was maid of honor, with Miss Gloria Chapman as flower girl. Gordon L. Wood, the bride’s brother, was best man. Robert Dufloe and Edward Kurkowski were ushers.
A reception at the Millstone Tavern followed. Guests attended from Herkimer, Little Falls, West Winfield, Cedarville, Jordanville and other places.
The bride, a 1951 graduate of Richfield Springs Central School, is employed at the Shurkatch Fishing Tackle Co. He attended the central school here, served in the U. S. Army, and is employed at the General Crushed Stone Co., Jordanville.
After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and White Face Mountain, they will reside at 26 River St., here.

ILION—Mildred Alice Bailey, Cedarville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bailey, today became the bride of Edward Gregor,. son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Gregory, 447 Otsego St.
The double ring ceremony was performed in St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church by the pastor, the Rev. Robert W. Withington. White carnations and white gladioli decorated the altar. Mrs. Nellie Snell was organist and Walter P. Griswold, violinist.
Miss Frances Conklin was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Shari and Judith Gregory. Donald Bouck acted as best man and ushers were Gerald Hardy and Gerald Sanderson. Jody Janicki, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl and Donald Farber, cousin of the bride, ring bearer.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of lace and tulle styled with a portrait neckline, lace bodice and short sleeves. The floor-length skirt was of tulle with large scallops. Her silk illusion hand rolled finger-tip veil was caught to a lace hat trimmed with sequins and pearls. She carried a white orchid, and pale pink carnations with white ribbon streamers.
The maid of honor wore a gown of blue nylon organza with fitted bodice and a roll collar trimmed in white and edged in lace. The bouffant ballerina skirt was edged with white organza and trimmed with lace and her picture hat matched and gown. The bridesmaids’ gowns were similar in pink and aqua. They all carried white carnations with ribbon streamers matching their gowns.
Following the reception in Big Pine Inn, the couple left for a wedding trip to Maine.
The bride is a graduate of West Winfield School and attended Utica School of Commerce. She is employed at Ilion National Bank and Trust Co. The bridegroom, a graduate of Ilion High School, is an apprentice toolmaker at Sperry Rand.

ONEIDA Edwin C. Thornton, 54, Lenox Avenue, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, shortly after his admission as a medical patient.
Born in Oneida, on Aug. 26, 1960, he was a son of Le Roy V. and Mary Myers Thornton, Sr. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Ed was educated in Oneida schools.
Prior to his retirement, due to disability, Ed was employed with the Mc Intyre Paper Company in Fayetteville and was of the Christian faith.
Surviving besides his father, Le Roy, Sr., are his stepdaughter, Barbara Wright of Durhamville; his stepson, Kevin Rood of Syracuse; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marguerite and Clifford Olcott and Bambi and Michael Collins, all of Oneida and Janice Burton and her fiancé, John of Leesburg, Fla.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Le Roy V. and Terri Thornton, Jr., Leslie E. and Donna Thornton, Sr. and Terry L. and Christine Thornton, all of Oneida; one step grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary, his sister, Tina Marie and his brother, Gene Raymond.
Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc. 260 Main St., Oneida, 5-7 p.m., Friday. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family

PHOENIX — Miss Kathleen M. Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson of 823 Jefferson St., became the bride Saturday, Oct. 15, of Lance McGee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer McGee of 984 Lock St. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. William J. Lynch in the retcory of St. Stephen's Catholic church in the presence of the families of the two young people.
The bride wore a beige dress with brown accessories and a rosebud corsage. Her attendant, Miss Lynn Buskey of Syracuse, wore a blue suit. Mr. McGee was attended by his
brother, Robert McGee of Phoenix.
Following the ceremony there was a wedding reception held at the home of the bride's parents. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the couple will make their home at Lakeport.
The new matron is a graduate of the Phoenix Central School and of a computer school in Syracuse. She has been employed in the Marine Midland bank in Syracuse. Prior to her marriage she was honored at a miscellaneous shower given by Miss Buskey in Syracuse.
Mr. McGee, also a Phoenix graduate, is employed by a printing firm in Syracuse.

Catherine "Kate" Margaret (Demoski) Holden of Glen Aubrey, New York. It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Kate fell asleep, at home with her loving family by her side and departed to the mercy of God on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Catherine, 87, graduated from Norwich High School, where she was head cheerleader. Her classmates described her as "active as the day is long"; "passion for purple"; "Pep, Vim and Vigor"; sports minded; always cheerful, friendly with irrepressive energy and "are you ready?!" and that is how she lived her entire life. Catherine moved to Glen Aubrey where she met the love of her life, Leslie James Holden, who predeceased her. Mom said "I married your father because he always made me laugh." Catherine is also predeceased by her granddaughter, Stacy Ann Morgan; son-in-law, Michael Thayne and an honorary daughter, Judy (Hank) Petrick. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Ann Thayne and Nancy (Gary) Bidwell; son, William Holden; grandchildren whom she was very proud of, Jill (Chris), Steven (Wendy), Billy and Amy and Jennifer (Ben); great grandchildren, Brandon and Sean, Emma and Ava, Aiden, Kyle and Hunter; 2 brothers, Paul and Jim (Olga) Demoski and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine lived a full life as a wife of a dairy farmer, a beloved mother and grandmother and as a postmaster for the United States Postal Service. Catherine worked in Glen Aubrey and retired from Kirkwood, NY with 37 years of service. She was on several occasions mentioned in The Evening Press as "The Champion Moonlighter of the Southern Tier" pumping gas, selling groceries and stocking shelves at the once Glen Aubrey Store. All while running the Post Office, cleaning, cooking, baking, sewing and attending evening classes for her postal career. Catherine instilled in her children and grandchildren strong family values and selfless love. Our Mother and our children's grandmother will forever have a special place in our hearts. Catherine was a member of St. Stephen and St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Whitney Point.

Leslie (Les) James Holden, 82, of Glen Aubrey died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 15, 2008, at his home. He was born in Elmira, New York, the son of the late Clarence and Rose (Walters) Holden. He was predeceased by his sisters, Eleanor Holden, Marge (Holden) Shrauger; and a granddaughter, Stacy Anne Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine Margaret Holden; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Ann (Michael) Thayne, Nancy (Gary) Bidwell; one son, William Holden; one brother, Walter (Linda) Holden; one sister, Elizabeth (Ronald) Gorham; four grandchildren, Jill (Chris) Kelly, Steven (Wendy) Morgan, Billy and Amy Holden; four great-grandchildren, Brandon and Sean Kelly, Emma and Ava Morgan; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family friends, the Petrick's. Leslie was a graduate of Whitney Point High School, Class of 1943, with honors in agriculture and outstanding scholastic achievements in Future Farmers of America. His career was in dairy farming and upon retirement he chose an additional career in Real Estate. His first love was his family and his deep concern for their well being. He enjoyed going to the Spot Restaurant and visiting his friends. Leslie had a grand sense of humor and was "master" of the one line jokes. Everyday was a beautiful day to Leslie. He sincerely enjoyed life.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. from Nichols Funeral Home, 7323 119th Street, Whitney Pont, New York with Father Jerry Katz officiating. Interment will be in Glen Aubrey Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home. Some 300 guests will be invited to attend a reception from 7 to 11 p. m. in En Joie Clubhouse, Endicott.
Miss Demoski was graduated from Norwich High School and attended Broome County Technical Institute. Her fiance is a graduate of Whitney Point High School.
