Miss Pedd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving D. Pett, RD Ilion, Mr. Zuis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Zuis, 345 King.
Mrs. John Zuis, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was the matron of honorand Mrs. Alfred Llewellyn, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid.
Charels Zuis acted as best man for his brother, and Orrie Scalles ushered.
Valerie Zuis, niece of teh bridegroom, was the flower girl, and Irving Frederick, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown fashoned with a lace bodice, Peter Pan collar and long sleves ending in points at the wrist.... lace enced with a short train. she wore a fingertip illusion veil and carried a cascade of white roses centered with a white orchid.
The honor attendant wore and aqua gown with a full net skirt over taffera, and carried white pompons. the bridesmaid choose a similar gown in coral. both attendants wore tiaras matching their gowns.
The flower girl wore a green taffeta gown with a matching tiara, The attendants sarried cascades of white pompons and pink roses.
Following a reception at the VFW Home, Herkimer, the coupe left on a trip to Detroit. Upon their return the will reside in Gloversville, whenre the bridegroom is assistant manager of the Loblaw Store.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adlai B. Cole, 120 Mohawk St., Sauguoit. Her husband who lives ae 232 1/2 Mohawk St., Sauquoit, is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Jones.
Miss Margaret Williams, Utica, cousin of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Prentice, Sauquoit; Miss Nancy Murray and Miss Donna Murray, Utica, cousins of the bride, and Miss Mary Williams, Utica, cousin of the bridegroom. Deborah Ann Julian, Whitesboro, was flower girl for her aunt.
Philip Marmelstein, Utica, was best man. George Penree, James Babcock, Philip Nardell and David Marmelstein, all of Utica, served as ushers.
A reception was held at the Towne House, Utica. After a trip to Niagara Falls, the couple will live at 232 1/2 Mohawk St. Sauquoit.

A Canastoto man was killed yesterday on West Court Street. Rome, in a construction accident and a former Utica boy died in California when he was struck by a car on Saturday while skate-boarding.
Dead are Hubert Burdo, 52, of Canastota RD 2, who died when crushed between a dump truck and a backhoe, and George Julian, 10, Burlingame, Calif., who died on the patio of a house next to his home. The Julian youngster formerly lived in Utica and on Roosevelt Drive Whitesboro.

THE JULIAN boy and a playmate were skating-boarding on the patio at a house next to his parents home at 211 Humbolt Road when he was struck. The car narrowly missed th eplaymate. Police said the drive of the car suffered a siezure and the car went out of control.
The boy was born in Utica and attended schools here and in Whitesboro before moving with his parents to California two years ago. In California he attended St. Matthew's Episcopal Church where he was confirmed in April. He also served as an altar boy.
Besides his parents, he leaves five brothers, David, Utica and Michael, Walter Jr.. Jonathan and Joseph, all at home: two sisters. Debbie and Tammy Lou, at home. His paternal grandmother, Mrs. Tillie Julian, California; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Adlai Cole, Sauquoit and his paternal step-grandmother, Mrs. Michael Julian, Utica.
The funeral will be this morning from Sam Bruno Funeral Home, San Mateo, Calif., and from St. Matthew's Church. Members of his Cub Scout pack will be pall bearers.

GARRATTSVILLE ... Miss Doris Virginia Cole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Cole of Garrattsville and Howard L. Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gardner of West Laurens, were united in marriage in the Morris Methodist church Saturday at 2 p. m. by the Rev. Charles Dempsey.
The maid of honor was Miss Zaida Cole, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Leonard Petersen of Morris, Miss Virginia Allen of New Lisbon, Sandra Chase was flower girl. Ushers were Emerson Cole, Jr., brother of the bride, and Philip Giambalvo of Morris.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white marquisette over rayon taffeta with matching mitts. Her fingertip veil falling from a pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.
The maid of honor wore yellow net over taffeta with matching headdress and mitts. Mrs. Peterson wore lavender embroidered sheer over yellow taffeta with matching headdress and mitts. Miss Allen wore white embroidered sheer over yellow taffeta with matching headdress and mitts. All carried bouquets of white carnations.
The bride's mother wore navy blue print bemberg with white accessories, and her corsage was white carnations.
The groom's mother wore a navy blue and white suit with white accessories. Her corsage was pink carnations.
The organist, Miss Barbara Ann Hull, played, "Because," "Song of the Evening Star," and "The Green Cathedral." Mrs. Anne Mittlesdorf and Mrs. Emily Myers sang two duets, "O Promise Me" and " I Love You Truly."
A reception was held in the church parlors, after which the bride and groom left on a wedding trip to Maine and other New England states.
The bride graduated from Morris Central School in 1050. The groom attended Morris Central School and is employed by his father in the trucking business.
Out of town guests were from Sauquoit, Clayville, Franklin, Oneonta, Laurens, Mt. Vision, Hartwick, Schaghicoke and Westville.
A pre-nuptial shower was held at the home of Miss Virginia Allen at New Lisbon.

GARRATTSVILLE — Emerson L. (Sonny) Cole, 65, of Garrattsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital in Albany.
He was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Garrattsville, the son of Emerson C. and Bernice A. (Barton) Cole.
He graduated from Morris Central School, Class of 1952.
He was married to Anna C. Livesey on Aug. 2, 1953. He was married to her for 19 years.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952, and completed his specialized Air Training command at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. While in the Air Force he served in the Korean conflict and was injured in an airplane crash on the island of Hokkdido, Japan, resulting in a lifelong disability. After release from the active duty, Sonny returned to his hometown to build a home in Welcome Center for his family.
He worked for Raymond Corporation in Morris as a welder and for Austin Thompson Trucking in Mount Vision, as a driver before opening his own trucking business, E.L. Cole Trucking in the 1960s. He also ran a local milk route for farmers shipping canned milk and drove a mail truck for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a 4-H leader for many years in Otsego County and a member of the United Methodist Church of Garrattsville and the Garrattsville Volunteer Fire Department.
Sonny enjoyed the outdoors and exercising his creative talents. In recent years he spent his days hunting, gardening and building outdoor furniture and other novelty items. His compassion and concern for others kept him busy. He always there to lend a helping hand and was fondly known by his family, friends and neighbors as "the Mayor of Welcome." An all-American boy, Emerson maintained his allegiance to his country and flag through memberships in local chapters and military organizations. He was a member and officer of the American Legion post 1567 of Hartwick and a life member of the V.F.W. post 1417 of Morris and the DAV chapter No. 159.
He is survived by his mother, Bernice Butler of Apopka, Fla.; a son, George (Buster) Cole and his wife, Sun, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Melody Cole of South New Berlin, Annette L. Guinn and her husband, Timothy, of Norwich and Tammie Collins and her husband, Richard, of New Hartford; his dear sister and confidant, Doris Martin and her husband, Bill, of West Laurens; sisters, Elizabeth William of Apopka, Fla., and Zaida Welden of Richfield Springs; a paternal uncle, Harold Cole and his wife, Alice, of Old Forge; a maternal uncle, Leroy Barton of Salisbury Center; his grandchildren, Michelle and Thomas Cole, Rachel Pigg, Jason Geywits, Hope Berberick, Amy Winton, Tiffany, Tim Jr., Shawna and Jackie Guinn and E. Bryan and Christine Salie; and a great-grandson, Hunter Geywits; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Renee Weaver; and his canine companion, Sonya.
He was predeceased by his father, Emerson C. Cole, who died in 1981.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris with the Rev. William Highfield officiating. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon till service time on Sunday. Burial and military honors will be in the spring at the Bennett Cemetery in West Laurens.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Carl M. Truesdale in the Episcopal church of Morris.
The bride wore a white street length dress with white accessories and her corsage was white roses. Mrs. William Pentzien of Connecticut was her sister's matron of honor and Donald Hull, a friend of the groom was best man.
The bride's mother's dress was dusty rose with black accessories and her corsage red roses.
The groom's mother was attired in a blue irridescent taffeta dress with white accessories and her corsage, red roses.
A reception for the immediate family was held at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson C. Cole. The four-tiered wedding cake was made by Mrs. William Pickens, Garrattsville.
The groom is home on a 15-day furlough from cadet school in Harlingen, Texas. He leaves soon for mechanic's school in Cheyenne, Wyoming and the bride expects to follow soon.

Edward B. Hildenbrandt, 68, of Beverly Hills, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born on June 18, 1945, in Rome, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Dorothy Cheney Hildenbrandt; a son, Joseph Hildenbrandt; and sisters, Joan Burkhart and Joyce Dixon. He is survived by his partner, Patricia Barbour; two sons, Edward J. Hildenbrandt and Patrick Hildenbrandt (Dennis Kraft); his daughter, Kathleen Tafelski (Michael); sisters, Gail Bartell (Bernard) and Sandy Atwood (Robert); granddaughters, Chelsea and Courtney Tafelski; and his beloved dog. John Guy Reile of Oriskany Falls, NY, departed this Earth on Monday, November 30th at the age of 82 with his saddened family by his bedside. Although he left us with aching hearts, he also filled our lives with many happy memories.
John was born in Ilion, NY on November 18, 1933, the son of Guy Reile and Ada Skinner Reile. John spent his early childhood in East Utica and attended St. Mary Mount Carmel Elementary School. He graduated from Sauquoit Valley Central School in 1952, and after graduation joined the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Germany as a crew chief on an F-86, but also spent time in England, Spain, Italy, and Libya. In addition, he was stationed at bases in the United States from Samson Air Base in New York, to Texas and Florida.
John graduated from MVTI (currently MVCC) in 1960, with a degree in Electrical Technology. He was hired by General Electric where he worked for 33 years, initially as a Draftsman, and retiring in 1993 as a Specialist in Engineering Standards.
After retiring from General Electric, John pursued another adventure as the Supervisor of the Town of Marshall. He held this position several terms. He also served on and chaired the Board of Assessment Review.
John had many hobbies such as hunting, snowmobiling and traveling. He was a general handy man and there was nothing that he could not repair. He, as well, loved to make treasure chests for his grandchildren in his workshop.
John and Edith were married for fifty-eight years. They have five children, Cynthia Pleskach of Watertown, Michael and Patricia Reile of Whitesboro, Susan and Scott Jeffers of Oriskany Falls, Rebecca and William LaFlair of Canastota, and Deborah Curtis and Bruce Hairston of Whitesboro. He is also survived by eleven wonderful grandchildren: Laura and Michael Pleskach, Eric and Jacob (Meg) Reile, Jeremy (Sarah) and Thomas Jeffers, Zachary and Abigail LaFlair, and Wesley (Sarah), Cody (Alice) and Garth Curtis. He also has five great-grandchildren (Cassandra, Hayden, and Holland Curtis, Jackson and Harrison Jeffers). He is survived by his sister, Patricia Henault, step-sister-in-law and step-brother, Harry and Charlene Lane, half-sister Mary (Perry) Jones, and step-sister Goldie Lane. John was predeceased by his brother, Frank Reile, and his half-brother, Orrin Reile.
John will be missed by his family. Edith will miss John dearly as he truly was her best friend!
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 5th from the Oriskany Falls United Methodist Church, 201 Main St., Oriskany Falls.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
There will be no calling hours.

The marriage of Miss Edith May Skinner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton E. Skinner of Richfield Springs, R D to John Guy Reile, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Partko of Cassville. took place Saturday, May 4 at 11 o'clock in the Paines Hollow church. The Rev. S. Bowen Hawkins, pastor of the Jordanville Federated church performed the double ring ceremony before the altar banked with bouquets of white carnations and mums.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin floor length gown with a very full skirt and fitted bodice having a Sabrina neckline and long pointed sleeves. The nylon beaded head band had a finger tip veil of nylon net and she carried a white orchid and lily on a prayer book.
Mrs. Clayton F. Skinner, sister-in-law of the bride was the matron of honor. Her nile green floor length gown was complemented by a matching net head-band and she carried a colonial bouquet.
Eugene Reem of Clayville was the best man.
A reception for about 100 followed in the Town Hall at Columbia and the couple left on a wedding trip to Pennsylvania. For traveling the bride wore a gray suit with matching acceaories and white orchid corsage.
Upon their return they will live in Sauquoit.
The bride graduated in 1954 from RSCS and Central City Business Institute. She was employed for a time in the office of Myron A. Jordan and more recently in the Utica General Electric.
The groom is a 1952 graduate of Waterville Central School. He spent four years in the air force and is presently employed in the Utica Drop Forge in Clayville.

Frank J. Reile, 54, of Hudson, Fla., brother of John Reile, supervisor of the Town of Marshall, died Friday, Feb. 9,1996, in Columbia New Port Richey Hospital, New Port Richey, Fla.
He was born in Utica and lived in this area until 1987 when he moved to Tarpon Springs, Fla., from Verona. He Owned and operated the Land's End Shrimp & Oyster Bar in Tarpon Springs. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Sherrill Post, American Legion.
Mr. Reile leaves his wife, Deonne; his mother, Ada Gajdzis of Sauquoit; his father, Guy Reile of Remsen; two daughters, Tori Staiger and Brenda Reile, both of Hudson, Fla.; his brother, John, in Oriskany Falls; two sisters, Patti Henault of Orange, Calif., and Mary Jones of Oneida, and a grandchild.
The funeral was Tuesday from the Chapel of Family Funeral Care in Hudson, Fla.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at Gunset, Richfield Springs.

Robert J. Hopsicker gave his sister in marriage. The bride's sister, Miss Barbara
Hopsicker, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Josephine Lanasa, New Hartford and Miss Andrea Krol and Miss Mary Parteko, the bridegroom's sister, both of Sauquoit.
William H. Hyde, Sauquoit, was best man. Joel Folts, Richfield Springs, and Alfred Skinner, Sauquoit, cousins of the bridegroom, ushered with William Sheppard, Clayville.
A reception was held in White's Inn, Washington Mills. After a trip to the, World's Fair and Washington, DC, the newlyweds will live in Sauquoit.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a jewelled gown of lace over satin designed with high neckline, fitted bodice and long sleeves. Her full skirt ended in a chapel train, and her fingertip illusion veil fell from a lace crown. She carried a white bible with orchid.
Mrs. Peter Wilson of Little Falls, cousin of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a gown,of pale green net over satin, with a matching picture hat. The bridesmaids were Miss Patricia Reile of Waterville, Miss Anne Sarafin of Jordanville and Miss Sandra Monahan. In gowns and hats similar in design to that of the matron of honor, Miss Reile was in pastel pink, Miss Sarafin in light blue and Miss Monahan
in pale yellow. All carried colonial bouquets.
The flower girl, Lynda Baker of Old Forge, cousin of the bride, wore a full length net dress and a nylon lace half-hat and carried a small colonial bouquet. Wayne Welch, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Peter Wilson, Little Falls, was best man. The ushers were Joel Folts, brother of the bride, Paul Szeflinski, Warren and Robert Boepple of Little Falls, cousins of the bride.
A reception for 150 relatives and friends was held at the Tavern Restaurant, after which Mr. and Mrs. Skinner departed on a week's trip to Niagara Falls. They will be at home in their trailer on the Vickerman Hill Road in Mohawk.
The bride was a member of the June graduating class of the Richfield Springs Central School. Mr.Skinner was graduated from the local central school in the class of 1953.
Two pre-nuptlal variety showers were given, one by Mrs. Lewey Parteko in Waterville and one by the matron of honor in Little Falls.
