Patricia Louise Dell

  Patricia "Pat" Louise Frakes, 67, Luverne, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., after a brief illness.
  Services were Wednesday, Nov. 22, in United Methodist Church, Luverne. The Rev. Bart Fletcher officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
 Patricia Louise Frakes was born to Frank L. and Vernie L. (Schumann) Dell on May 8, 1933, on a farm in Logan Township, Lyon County, Iowa. She grew up in the Lester, Iowa, area. She graduated from Lester High School in 1951. She graduated from Nettleton School of Business at Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1951. She worked for L & O Power in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
  She married Clyde E. Burke on June 6, 1954, in Rock Rapids. After their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville where they owned and operated a Coast to Coast store. In 1960 they moved to Luverne. Mr. Burke died in 1961.
  She married Dallis K. Frakes on Feb. 26, 1970, in Sioux Falls. After their marriage the couple lived in Luverne. She was a homemaker.
  Mrs. Frakes was a member of United Methodist Church in Luverne. She enjoyed many summers at their lake cabin on Lake Sarah. She loved her children. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, working in the yard and sewing, until vision problems the last couple of years slowed her down.
   Survivors include her husband, Dallis Frakes, Luverne; two sons, Rory Burke, Sioux Falls, Tim Frakes and his fianc'e, Pam Michaelis and Pam's children, Jacob and Amber and AmberÕs baby, Genaveive, all of St. Cloud; two daughters, Keely Frakes and her fianc'e Tom Rau, Avon, and Karen Ylvisaker-Ancil and her husband, Doug Ancil, and their children, Nick, Alayna, Gabriel and Wyatt, all of Marion, Ind., and two brothers, Daryl Dell, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Gaylen (Betty) Dell, Marathon, Iowa.
  Mrs. Frakes was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clyde Burke, one son, Perry Frakes, one brother, Milo Dell, and two sisters-in-law, Helen Dell and Connie Dell.
  Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation or an association for the blind.
  Holm-Dingmann Funeral Home, Luverne, was in charge of arrangements.

  RORY CLYDE BURKE, age 61, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Luverne, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Bethany Home in Brandon, SD. He was born May 25, 1955, in Rochester, to Clyde and Patricia (Dell) Burke. Rory graduated from Luverne High School in 1973. He then attended Augustana College, South Dakota State University and Southwest State University.
  He lived in Brookings, SD before moving to his home in Sioux Falls, SD. Rory enjoyed reading, watching movies and music. He owned an extensive album collection.
  Rory is survived by his brother, Tim (Pam) Frakes, St. Cloud; two sisters, Keely (Tommy) Frakes-Rau, Avon; and Karen Ylvisaker-Ancil, Marion, IN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and cousins; and his good friend, Jim (Rachelle) Hoh, Sioux Falls, SD.
  He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Burke; mother, Patricia (Burke) Frakes; step father, Dallis Frakes; and a brother, Perry Frakes in 1983.
  A gathering of family & friends will be from 3-5 pm Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private family committal of cremains will be at a later date.

Patricia Mary Sullivan

  Patricia Mary Nimens-Cox, 84, a Crookston, Minnesota native and former longtime resident, died at her home in Sun City West, Arizona on Sunday morning, June 20, 2010. She had been courageously battling cancer for the last several months and was under hospice care.
  Pat was born in Crookston on June 29, 1925, and was the daughter of Peter M. and Jennie (Conneran) Sullivan. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1943. Pat attended St. Michael's Hospital School of Nursing in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and received her degree as an R.N. in 1946. Her first nursing position was with the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. She later moved to Torrance, California and was employed at the Torrance Memorial Hospital before returning to Crookston. Pat was united in marriage to Wilfred C. "Bill" Nimens on June 29, 1949. Six children were born to their union- Billie Pat, Julianne, Tom, Mary Jane, Jon, and Jay. Sadly, Billie Pat died in a drowning accident in 1952, shortly before his 2nd birthday. For several years she worked at St. Vincent's Hospital, later known as St. Francis Hospital, and in 1957 became the first staff R.N. of the newly formed Polk County Nursing Service. Pat and Bill enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona for several years before his passing on July 28, 1990. She later moved to Sun City West to make her home, and in 1997 married James "J.L." Cox. Before J.L.'s death in 2006 they spent nine wonderful years together traveling the world.
  Pat leaves five children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren: Julianne (Tim) Rubley of Sun City West, AZ and children, Tate (Jodi) Rubley and their children, Cory, Braidyn, Landyn, and Dylan, Trisha (Jordan) Krantz, and Tana Rubley; Tom Nimens of Oakland, CA and sons, Ross and Paul (Nicole) Nimens; Mary Jane (Brian) Coe of Timnath, CO and children, Jenny and Brad; Jon Nimens (special friend, Shawn Hogenson) of Crookston, MN; and Jay (Cyndy) Nimens of Crookston and sons, Reid, Ty, and Ethan. Also surviving are a brother, Dennis "Spanky" (Mona) Sullivan of Sun City West; sisters-in-law, Vi Sullivan of Thief River Falls, MN and Betty Ohman of Hastings, MN; six step-children, twelve step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her husbands and son, Pat was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Rylan Rubley; her parents; and three brothers, Ralph, Peter, and Joe Sullivan.
  A memorial service for Patricia Nimens-Cox will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, Minnesota at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010, with The Very Rev. Bob Schreiner, officiating.

  Edna "Betty" Littlehale, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa, a former Ames resident, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at the Cherokee Villa Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. Rev. Magrey deVega officiated.
   Betty was born May 3, 1920 at Madrid, to Earl and Alta (Clement) Brown. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1938. After attending Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, she taught two years in a country school.
   Following the death of her husband Edward Bargfield in 1944, she helped her parents in their jewelry store. In 1951, she was married to Ivan Littlehale.
   She was currently a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, was a former Sunday School Superindendant in Madrid. She recently was honored with a 75-year certificate for her membership in the Order of Eastern Star at Madrid, Iowa, serving as Worthy Matron in 1951. She was also the Charter President of Beauceant in Ames.
   She enjoyed traveling with her two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward in 1944 and her husband Ivan in 1976 and two sisters Louise Cooper and Helen Partello
   She is survived by a son Edward Bargfield and his wife Beverly of Galesburg, Ill.; a daughter Mary Raveling and her husband Rod of Cherokee; four grandchildren: Doug Bargfield and family; Molly (Bargfield) Purcell and family; Robert Raveling and his wife Roxanne and family of Sioux City; Becky (Raveling) Elemond and her husband Todd and family of Cherokee; six great-grandchildren; one niece Susan Dove and family.
