Visitation Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, IA 50701. Burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
Karen Rae Stratton was born on June 29, 1941, in Waterloo, the daughter of Ray and Hazel (Hughes) Ocheltree. She grew up in Dysart and graduated from Dysart High School. On November 19, 1960, Karen was united in marriage to Barry Lamont Stratton.
Karen worked at Canteen Food Service as a truck and kitchen manager, Cadillac Lanes as a manager, and retired from Velocity Express. She was an avid bowler and was one the best female bowlers in the 1970s and 1980s. She was also a season ticket holder for the Waterloo Blackhawks for decades. You could not find anyone who loved dogs more than Karen.
Karen died at the age of 71 on March 1, 2013 at her home in Waterloo.
She is survived by a son, Barry (Jody) Stratton of Hudson; a granddaughter, Kaitlin Clark of Hudson; and many other family members and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; and a special friend, Lynde.

James Michael Colbert, 61, of Phoenix, NY, died Monday. Born in Gloversville, graduated from J.C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, served in the US Navy 1962 to 1968 and retired as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Phoenix. James was a communicate of Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, served the Phoenix Fire Department as assistant chief and instructor for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, George H. and Iva M. Getman Colbert.Survived by his wife of 37 years, Joanne Colbert; daughter, Milissa Adams of Phoenix; sisters, Nora "Rick" Ostrander of North Syracuse; Katie "Gary" Schaus of Liverpool and Meg "Mitch" Bullis of Phoenix; granddaughter, Annabelle Adams; several aunts; one uncle and several cousins.
Services Friday at 8:30 a.m. Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 NYS Route 31 at Moyers Corners. Burial Constantia Rural Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 431 Main St., Rt. 57 Phoenix.

Loretta Huntley Smart , 60, of Baldwinsville, passed away Sunday at her home. She was born in Syracuse and has lived in the Baldwinsville area all her life. She was a 1961 graduate of C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville and was a graduate of CCBI Business School. She retired as an administrative assistant after 15 years at the VA Hospital, Syracuse. Loretta was predeceased by her father Nelson Huntley in 1996.
Surviving: one daughter Stephanie Smart Jackowski of Fairmount; two sons, Eric Smart and Peter Smart , both of Baldwinsville; her mother Isa G. Huntley of Baldwinsville; one sister Cynthia Guy of Homer; two grandchildren, Ryan and Noah.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville.
