  Ralph (Jack) Jones, 66, rural Albany, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 1983, in University Hospitals, Madison, following a lingering illness.
  Born Jan. 25, 1917, at rural Evansville, Rock County, he was the son of Arthur and Jennie Higday Jones. He attended local schools. He married the former Lorraine Falk Oct. 28, 1942 in Dubuquw, Iowa.
  He was a retired farmer and carpenter and had always lived in the Albany area. Mr. Jones was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church.
  Surviving are his wife, Lorraine: a son R. Curtis Jones, rural Albany, a daughter, Mrs. Dan (LaVon) Flynn, Orogon; two brothers, Clifford of Brodhead and A. Morton of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Stewart, Janesville, and Mrs. Ovyind (Jane) Wilkum, Stoughton, and foru grandchildren.
  He was preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lynn and Robert, and two sisters, Mrs. Forrest (Helen) Purintun, and Mrs. Earl (Beth) Hopkins.
  Funeral rites wil be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the Albany United Methodist  Church, the Rev. Pat Lyon Officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany.

  Dorothy was the daughter of Arthur and Jenny (Higday) Jones. She moved to Janesville in 1937. She married Robert Stewart on November 11, 1950 in Madison, Wisconsin. She worked as a pie baker for a Janesville restaurant and also at Borg Industries in Delavan, Wisconsin. During WWII she worked at the Janesville Cotton Mills. She was a member of Saint William Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Southern Wisconsin Chapter of the American Ex Prisoners of War. She was survived by her husband; two daughters; a son; 10 grandchildren and a sister. She was preceded in death by nine brothers.

She was born Jan 18, 1919, in Albany Township, the daughter of Arthur and Jenny (Higday) Jones, and had been a Janesville resident since 1937. Dorothy married Robert Stewart Nov. 22, 1950 in Madison. She worked as a pie baker for a Janesville downtown restaurant, worked at Janesville Cotton Mills during World War II and was employed at Borg in Delavan. Dorothy was a member of St. William Catholic Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Southern Wisconsin Chapter of the American Ex POWs.
  She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Janesville, 2 daughters, Sandra K. (William) Hein of Janesville and Katherine S. (David) Durrant of Janesville; a son Gary J. (Mary Ann) Breese of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a sister, Jane (Oyand) Waum of Stoughton. Dorothy was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters and a grandson, John Hein.
  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wed., June 9, 1999, at St. WIlliam Catholic Church, with Fr. Del Klink officiating Interment wll be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Schneider Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.

Robert J Stewart

  He was the son of Robert and Edna (Hanley) Stewart. He graduated from high school in Baraboo, Wisconsin. In his senior year he played on a high school football team that was undefeated and never scored upon. He attended the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. He moved to Janesville in 1940. He married Dorothy Jones in Madison Wisconsin on November 11, 1950. Robert served in the 32nd Infantry Division from 1940 to 1945 with the 192 Tank Battalion Co. A [the ''Janesville 99''] . He was a prisoner of war of the Japanese Imperial Army for 4 years and was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. Robert was employed as a rural mail carrier for the US Post Office until he retired and he owned Peening Processing Inc., for many years. He was a charter member of St. William Catholic Church and a member of the VFW, Southern Wisconsin Chapter of Ex POW's, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Golden K's. He is survived by 3 children.

  Mrs. Suzanne "Sue" Clark, 79, of Brodhead, died on Friday, May 29, 2009 at Collinwood Home.
  She was born on August 3, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Hein) Osborne. She was an Albany High School Graduate. In 1968 she was joined in marriage to Mr. Charles Clark in Mindon, Illinois.
  Mrs. Clark was a hard worker and lived a life of service. She also had a love for traveling and was able to see the Holy Land. She spent the part of many winters in Florida. Mrs. Clark's life was marked by her love for her children, grandchildren, great grand children and her church. She did not fear death, indeed she embraced the idea of being with her husband and her Lord Jesus Christ.
  Mrs. Clark was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Living Word Church.
  She is survived by her children: Phil (Toni) Jones-Albany, Timothy (Victoria) Jones-Brodhead; Jill (Larry) Hanson-Albany; Scott (Monica) Jones-Lake Mary, Florida; Rick (Barb) Clark-Brodhead; Tracy (Sylvia) Clark-Chula Vista, California; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
  Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles Clark.
  The funeral service for Mrs. Suzanne Clark will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Living Word Church, Brodhead. Time 11:00 a.m. Pastor Rob Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Lanore Florence Alderman

  Lanore F. Jones, 78, of Monroe, WI, formerly of Albany, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 19, 1932, in Boscobel, WI, the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Hagen) Alderman, and attended Beloit, WI schools. Lanore and Jack Creighton were married in 1957 in Beloit, WI, and she later married Arthur "Mert" Jones on Nov. 14, 1969, in Monroe, WI. Lanore owned and operated the Soda Fountain, Edgewater Café, and Hobby Time Ceramics in Albany, and was a Foster Parent for 18 years. She was a member of Albany EMS, Green County Auxiliary Police, McDermott-Steindorf American Legion Auxiliary, served on Various Albany Village Committees, and Green County Nutrition Site.
  Surviving are her children: Darlin (Jeff) Foulker of Monroe, WI, Charles "Chuck" Alderman of Janesville, WI, Sandy Deegan of Roscoe, IL, Bobbie (Karl) Hulbert of Albany, WI, Cindy (Corey Turner) Jones of Monroe, WI, Phil (Toni) Jones of Albany, WI, Jill (Larry) Hanson of Albany, WI, Tim (Vicki) Jones of Brodhead, WI, and Scott (Monica) Jones of Orlando, FL; daughter-in-law, Theresa Creighton of Evansville, WI; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mert; brothers: Donald, Robert, Charles, Ray, and Richard "Dick" Alderman; son, Jay Creighton; and grandsons, Dale and Jason Creighton.
  Lanore's family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Monroe Clinic Hospice. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, with Pastor Pat Soddy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany, WI.

  Jane Elaine Jones Wikum, Age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 29, 2015. She was born on December 7, 1922 in rural Evansville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Jennie (Higday) Jones.
   Jane graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1940, and then earned her clerical degree from MATC in Janesville. After her schooling she was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Janesville and later transferred to the USDA office in Madison for six years. On June 10, 1950 she married the love of her life and together they raised four children. She was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light for 21 years. She was a member of the Stoughton Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for many years in the Stoughton Hospital gift shop. She also worked for many years as an election clerk for the Town of Rutland. Along with her husband she was a life-time member of the Son's of Norway and together they attended many National Conventions.
  Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oyvind in 2012, daughter Carol Ann in 2004. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

  Shirley Y. Blumer, age 90 of Albany, Wisconsin died October 14, 2014 at her home with her family after a short illness. She was born May 19, 1924 in Albany Township the daughter of Vern and Blanche (Davis) Jones and graduated from Albany High School in 1941 and Whitewater Teachers College. Shirley married William “Billy” Blumer on April 25, 1945 at Williamston, South Carolina. Shirley was the first Green County Dairy Queen, School Teacher in Albany and Brodhead, was a Special Education School Bus driver, served on the Albany School Board, was a member of Albany Baptist Church where she was Sunday and Bible School Teacher, Lifetime member of Albany Historical Society, Albany American Legion Auxiliary for 62 years, Albany Alumni Association, and was Albany and Green County Cancer Chairman. Shirley farmed with her husband on the family farm all their lives and they Co-hosted Green County Dairy Days in 1992 and Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in 2007. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.

  William E. "Billy" Blumer, 87, of Albany, WI, died April 22, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1922, in Monroe, WI, a son of Fred and Bertha (Keller) Blumer and attended Peebles School and UW Farm Short Course at Albany School. William entered the United States Marine Corps on October 24, 1942, at Milwaukee, WI, served in the Pacific Area, was a member of the War Dog Regiment, and was discharged on October 26, 1945, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, as a Private 1st Class. William and Shirley Jones were married April 25, 1945 at Conway, SC. Bill was a truck driver for Luedy Livestock and farmed his entire life on Highway 59 in Albany Township. He was a member of PMA, NFO, Union Coop, Green County Farm Bureau, First Baptist Church in Albany, lifetime member Albany Historical Society, and McDermott-Steindorf American Legion Post #144 in Albany. He was the Green County Milking contest Winner in 1981, co-host of Green County Dairy Days in 1992, co-host of Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in 2007, and Bill and Shirley were Green County's oldest active dairy couple in 2009.

John Robert Stenson

  A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, for John Robert Stenson Sr. of McMinnville. Pastor Jim Peterson will officiate. Visitation in the chapel will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
   Mr. Stenson died Jan. 10, 2004, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. He was 82. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery at Bethel.
   He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Elsie, Neb., son of Francis and Anna Lee McMurray Stenson and was raised and educated there. He farmed until joining the Army during World War II.
   After the war, he moved to the McMinnville area and worked as an auto mechanic, including 30 years for Gilbert Tilbury Ford and Chuck Colvin Ford.
   Mr. Stenson and Mary Gladys Turner married July 14, 1961, in McCoy.
   He owned and operated his own mechanic's business until his death. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Elks Lodge. He loved to hunt and go deep-sea fishing.
   Survivors include his wife of McMinnville; two sons, John R. Stenson Jr. of McMinnville and Lyle Stenson of Janesville, Wis.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Mr. Stenson was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Ridge; a brother, Francis Stenson; and a sister, Nellie Miller.

  Born in Yakima, Washington, on March 5, 1925, he attended high school in Rainier, Oregon. He served in the United States Navy from July 15, 1943 to December 19th, 1946. He attended college in New York for photography. He was a professional photographer and owned his own studios in Ephrata, Washington, and Moses Lake, Washington.
  He is survived by his wife, Anne Mischel of Amity, OR; son, James R. Mischel, Jr. of Sheridan, OR; daughter, Marie Yoesel of McMinnville, OR; three grandchildren: Jeri Turgesen, Jason Frankenburger, and Sandy McDaniels; and three great-grandchildren.
  Services will be held on Tuesday, September 1st, 1:00pm, at St. James Catholic Church, with interment at Bethel Cemetery. A viewing will be held the day prior, Monday, August 31st, from 4:00-7:00 pm, at Macy & Son.
