   Shirley M. Krings, age 95, of Omro, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. She was born May 17, 1920, in the town of Rushford to the late Ralph and Avis (Hackney) King. In 1940 Shirley married Alvin Krings in Oshkosh and beginning in 1949 they farmed together in the town of Omro.
   She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Omro and its Altar Society, the Omro Women's Service League, and the Red Cross who awarded her for over 30 years of service. Shirley made wedding cakes for many people and catered parties with her friend Frances Markert. She enjoyed baking and ruined many diets with her homemade pies, chocolate chip cookies, caramels, and fudge.
   Shirley is survived by a daughter and three sons, Karen (Tom) Weeks, of Renton, Washington; Robert Krings, of Omro; Richard Krings, of Pewaukee; Mark (Wendy) Krings, of Omro; dear friend, David Faust, of Florida; two sisters, Ardyce Zillges, Phyllis Williams, both of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Florence King, of Omro; eleven grandchildren, Bradley (Jackie) and Bryan (Pam) Weeks; Mary, Paul (Donna), John, and David Krings; Ronelle Krings; Tiffany, Ross (Elizabeth), Rod (Suzie), and Scott (Liz) Krings; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous close nieces and nephews; and friends.
  Along with her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband Alvin December 22, 2003; five brothers, Orrin (Mil), Philip, Sidney (Betty), Robert (Jeanette), and Ronald King; two sisters, Marion (Earl) Hall and Alyce (Floyd) Gorr; and brothers-in-law, Eugene Zillges and Lyle Williams.
   A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave. Omro. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Edward Looney and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery.

  Ronald C. King December 24, 2005 Ronald C. King, age 83, of Omro, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, December 24, 2005.
   He was born December 12, 1922 in the Town of Rushford, the son of Ralph and Avis (Hackney) King. On May 26, 1945 he was united in marriage to Florence Kallas at the St. Mary’s Parsonage in Winneconne. Ronald was employed at Kraft Foods in Omro for 17 years, Jet Car Wash in Oshkosh for 10 years, Treleven Electric Service for two years, and Omro Care Center for 10 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Omro, past member of the Omro Jaycees, Omro Kiwanis, member of the Omro School Board for two terms, active in the consolidation of the Enterprise School and the building of the new High School. His favorite pastime was watching sports of all kinds, whether it was grade school, high school or college. He has attended almost all football games in Omro since his sons started playing in 1967. He did this right up until the time he became ill. Ronald was an avid U.W. Titans fan. If you participated in any sports in the Winnebago County area, he and his good friend, Donnie Bohn, probably saw you there. Ronald always had plenty of praise for the hometown athletes. His hobbies included wood working projects, framing pictures, yard work, gardening, growing raspberries, picking hickory nuts, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ronald always did maintenance and was very handy.
   Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Florence; two daughters, Kay (Jim) Demler of Palmyra, WI., and Sallie (Dick) Porto of New Berlin, WI; four sons, Tom King of Menasha, Dennis (Chris) King of Oshkosh, Alan (Kerry) King of Oshkosh and Kelly (Debbie) King of Butte des Morts; 13 grandchildren, Mandee and Kendra Demler, Tristan and Angela Porto, Blythe King, Leah (Waldner) Saint-Fort, Robert, Riley, Adam, Lucas, Mariah, Abby and Clayton King; one brother, Sidney King; sisters, Ardyce Zillges, Phyllis Williams, and Shirley Krings; sister in law, Dorothy Coats; brother in law, Harry Kallas, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Orrin, Robert and Phillip King; and sisters, Marion Hall and Alyce Gorr. In respect to Ronald’s memory, a visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2005 at the funeral home in Omro from 4-8 p.m. and then on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Parish in Omro from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial in his name has been established

26208. Theodore Wallace Schaar

  Theodore Wallace Schaar, age 54, Wittenberg, died Monday, April 12, 1982 at his home.
  He was born January 2, 1928 in Wittenberg, the son of the late Arthur and Iva (Williams) Schaar.
  On November 3, 1951 Theodore was united in marriage to Joyce Bessette in Birnamwood. She survives.
  Theodore was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
  In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Vicki Schaar, Lockport, IL; two brothers, Arthur (Madelene) and James (Mona), all of Wittenberg; and two sisters, Mary (Donald) Benson, Rockford, IL and Marge (Reuben) Nousen, Birnamwood.
  Funeral services were held April 15, 1982 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Claude Zabinski, OFM officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

35931. Nancy Lou Buntrock

  Nancy Lou Buntrock, 72, Tigerton, died on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Appleton Medical Center.
  She was born on June 13, 1943, in Wausau, the daughter of the late Norman and Delores (Kutchenriter) Buntrock.
  Nancy worked at Lakeland Industries in Shawano for a few years. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Nancy, was a great speller and enjoyed watching the bird feeders, watching Wheel of Fortune and visiting with the neighbors. She also enjoyed her weekly visit to McDonald's. Nancy loved children, and especially enjoyed the time spent with her nieces and nephews.
  Survivors include her siblings, Dale Buntrock Sr, Frank Buntrock, Norman (Irene) Buntrock Jr., all of Wittenberg, Lynn Neuman, Joan (Mark) Carlson, all of Tigerton, Sandra (Jeffrey) Lang, Wittenberg and Robert Buntrock, Tigerton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and aunt, Shirley Kutchenriter, Elderon.
  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Janice Buntrock; brother-in-law, Paul Neuman; nephew, Norman Buntrock III and a niece in infancy.
  The funeral service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:30PM until the time of service at the church.

Robert Lee Whitworth

  Robert Whitworth, 86, of rural Putnam County, MO, passed away at Arbors of Kirksville Residential Care Center in Kirksville, MO, on Sunday, November 15, 2009. He had been a resident there for about two months. Robert Lee Whitworth was born in Kirksville, MO, on October 11, 1923, the son of Grover and Esther (Leonard) Whitworth, who preceded him in death. He joined the United States Navy in January of 1943 and served as an aviation machinist mate in the Port of Chicago. He married Wilma Kutchenriter in Chicago on October 23, 1943 and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2008. Robert was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945 and he and Wilma moved to Burlington, IA, where Robert worked first as an auto mechanic for Studebaker and then at Sylvania where they made televisions. He once received an employee award for innovation while working for Sylvania. In 1957 Robert and Wilma moved to a farm south of Martinstown, MO, where they made their home until Wilma's death. Robert was a man of varied interests. He was an avid reader, especially of WW II literature, and he was a good story teller. He was a jack-of-all trades, having built his family's home in both Burlington and Martinstown. Robert was a general handy-man who could build birdhouses, fix electronic appliances, or repair farming equipment. He loved to watch the hummingbirds and he and Wilma liked to travel. They were members of the Good Sam Club and also spent winters in Texas from 1990 – 2007. Robert Whitworth is survived by five children: Terry Whitworth and his wife Faye of Tacoma, WA; Troy Whitworth and his wife Beth of Gardner, KS; Susan Jones and her husband David of Waynesboro, VA; Linda Davis and her husband Darl of Unionville, MO; and Tammy Thiel and her husband Joel of Columbia, MO. A son-in-law, Dennis Merritt of Lake Elsinore, CA, also survives. His five surviving grandchildren are Tony Jones, Melanie Wagner, Jeffrey Davis, Thaddeus Thompson, and Tia Thompson. Other survivors are Robert's six great grandchildren; a sister, Norene Ryder or Pasco, WA; and two half-sisters, Mabel Meyers of Ft. Myers, FL, and Irene Burcham of Louisburg, KS. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was also preceded in death by two daughters, Rebecca Whitworth, who died in childhood, and Patricia Merritt. A half brother, Victor Whitworth, also preceded Robert in death as well as a son-in-law, Rick Ralston, and a grandson, Tarence Thompson. Funeral services for Robert Whitworth will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:30 am. Visitation will Tuesday, November 17 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Martinstown Cemetery.

  The Lord called the soul of Margaret Emma Spiess to his side on June 12, 2017 at Rennes in Rhinelander, WI. She was born to Edward and Blanche Krause on September 5, 1921 in Wauwatosa, WI. Her baptism and confirmation took place at Lincoln Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She was married to Rudy for 65 years before his death in 2008.
   Margaret was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle River, WI, taking part in the Ladies Afternoon Guild for many years. She and Rudy loved the community and were members of Sno Eagles, SERVE, the Eagle River Historical Society and the American Legion. Margaret was a charter member of Creative Homemakers and enjoyed being a part of the Red Hats.
  She was preceded in death by brothers; Ed, Otto and Sam. Survivors include her son: Norm (Lenette); sister: Lucille Evanow; grandchildren: Jacob, Beth (Randy) Wesener and Nathan (Mettie) and 3 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 Am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 Am until the time of the service. Memorials to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
