  Robert Bert Hamilton, age 68, of Cedar Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday morning from 10am until the time of service.
  Mr. Hamilton was born June 30, 1941 in West Amboy, New York to the late Robert E. and Esther Spalsbury Hamilton. He worked as a mechanic for “Wright’s” in Parish, New York for 25 years and served on the Parish, NY, Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. Here in Tennessee he was employed as an Environmental Service Specialist at NorthCrest Medical Center. Mr. Hamilton was of the Presbyterian faith.
  In addition to his parents Mr. Hamilton is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Hamilton and Brian Hamilton.
   He is survived by his wife; eight sons; two brothers; three sisters; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

  PARISH - Richard W. Hamilton, 26, of Route 104, Maple View, died Monday morning due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Route 69 in Colosse.
   He was the son of Robert and Esther Salisbury Hamilton and was a life resident of the Parish area.
  Mr. Hamilton was employed as an assemblyman with Carrier Corp. in Syracuse.
  Surviving are his wife Marie August Hamilton, three sisters, Karen Whitney and Florence Horning of Parish and Lori Steinrode of Mallory. Three brothers, Robert and Doug of Parish and Clark of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Marter-Olmstead Funeral Home.
  Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.

  He was a graduate of A.P.W. Central School. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Esther Spaulsbury Hamilton; four brothers; three sisters; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Zella Spaulsbury.

  Mrs. Clyde Lewis was matron of honor for her niece. Best man was Harold Wood. Her bridesmaids were Mrs. JoAnn Dunn and Janet Rio, sisters of the groom also Miss Margaret Ransom of Cleveland. Ushers were William and James Ransom, and Charles Tufts of Cleveland.
  The bride's gown was full length white chantilly lace over satin with full skirt and long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil was held in place by a beaded tiarra. She carried white and pink roses. Her father, Lester Tyler gave the bride away.
  Her matron of honor wore afull length gown of pink. She carried pink and red roses. The bridesmaids' gowns were full length yellow, blue and lavender.
  A reception was held at the Community Hall at Cleveland. Mr. and Mrs. Rio are living in the Clifford Fuller Trailer Park, Bernhards Bay.

Janet Rio was maid of honor for her sister, Mrs. Jack Goettel and Karen Wings being bridesmaids. Maerlise Rio was flower girl and Donald Rio ringbearer, both cousins of the bride. Richard Sterling of Bernhards Bay was best man while Jack Goettel and Vernon Peck were ushers. The reception was held in the American Legion Rooms in Central Square.
  The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rio of West Monroe and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Daisy Dunn of Syracuse and Wilbur Dunn of Broadway. He graduated in June from Central Square School. The couple are now living in their trailer in West Monroe and have the best wishes of friends on the North Shore.

  Kenneth D. Armstrong, 63, of Whitesboro, NY, and formerly of Oneonta, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family.
  He was born on August 25, 1948, in Fulton, NY, son of George E. and Mary (Dunbar) Armstrong. He was a graduate of Paul V. Moore High School of Central Square, NY, and Columbia College, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. Ken served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
  On June 24, 1972, in Caughdenoy, NY, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Salenske, a blessed union of over 39 years filled with much love and mutual admiration. Ken along with his wife Jeanne moved to Oneonta after he accepted a position with SUNY Delhi, a job that he truly enjoyed. After many years of dedicated service, he retired as the chief financial officer of the college. He was awarded the Chancellor Award for Excellence at SUNY Delhi in 1999. He also was employed at one time with the Solid Waste Authority in Jamesville as a financial officer.
  Ken was an avid reader, who also enjoyed music and gardening. He was always at his happiest when he was surrounded by his family, especially his adored grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Armstrong of Whitesboro; his children and their spouses, Amy Pabon and her husband Sam of Sauquoit, Tracey Barone and her husband Tim of Whitesboro, and Christie Scibior and her husband, Daryl of New Hartford. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Mathew, Rachel, David, Kenny, James, Anthony and Ryan. He leaves his father and stepmother, George E. Armstrong and Bertha Armstrong of Central Square, NY; his siblings, Lorraine LaSalle of Williamstown, NY, Elaine Steere and her husband Allen of Parish, NY, Suzanne Fortier and her husband Charles of Mexico, NY, and Bruce Armstrong of Central Square, NY; he also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Armstrong, and brother, Dale Armstrong.
  The family wishes to offer a sincere thank you to the nurses at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in the Emergency Dept., ICU and 3B, and especially Dr. Freiberger and Dr. Goldiner for the wonderful care and true compassion that was shown to Ken and his family during this time. Thank you also to the Whitesboro Fire Dept.
  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cross Point Church, 317 Oriskany Blvd., Whitesboro, NY, with Pastor Sam Macri officiating. Interment in Maple Flats Cemetery in Cleveland, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro.

  ONEIDA — Miss Wava June German, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle C. Getmau, Upper Lenox Ave., was married to Clark A. Pitcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen F.  Pitcher, 227 E. Grove St., at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, in the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. James J. Morley, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
  The bride was given in marriage her father.
   Miss Marianne Carney was maid of honor. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Susan Pitcher, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Karen Ann Unruh, Cleveland, a cousin of the bride Peter Dunn was best man and ushers were John P. Clements and Roy Getman, a brother of the bride. Bernard Quain was the ring bearer.
  Following a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Pitcher will make their home in Ithaca.
  Both are graduates of Oneida High School. Mrs. Pitcher graduated from Central City Business Institute in August, Mr. Pitcher as a junior at Cornell University.
  Guests were present at the wedding from New York, Canajoharie, White Plains, New Rochelle, Phoenix, Pa., Cleveland, O., Sherrill, Rome, Camden, Williamstown, Cleveland, N. Y., Hamilton and Groton.

  Richard Axe was best man. Ushers were Henry Steinbach, Allen Taylor, Sheridan Babikian, Kevin Lewis and John Carpenter.
  The reception was held at Wysocki's Lake Park Manor.
   Employed at Tru-Run Jewelry located in Dey Brothers, Syracuse, the new bride is a graduate of Baldwinsville schools. Her husband is a graduate of Phoenix schools, employed by Cummings Mohawk Diesel as a mechanic.
 They will reside in Baldwinsville.
