  Irene L. Brush, 72, of 149 Berkshire Ave.,Oswego,died Tuesday at Crouse Hospital.
  Born in Cicero, she lived in Oswego most of her life.
   Survivors: Her husband, Joseph R.; three daughters, Sharon E. Brush and Mary M. Brush, both of Syracuse, and Linda A. Lizzio of Skaneateles; eight sons, Andrew F. of Homer and Frederick W., William J., Joseph R. Jr., Robert J., Harold C., Peter J. and Edward J., all of Syracuse; a sister, Freda Dempsey of Bridgeport; 19 grandchildren.
   Services: 9:45 a.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in Assumption Church. Burial, Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse.


Joseph R Brush

  Joseph R. Brush Sr., 92, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at the V.A. Medical Center. He was a communicant at Assumption Church. In 1979, Joseph retired from Rockwell International. Joe served with the Civilian Conservation Corps, with the Army and in the Marines during WWII in the Pacific Campaign, including Iwo Jima.
  Joe was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Irene L., in 2000 and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughters, Sharon E., Linda A. (Tony) Lizzio, Mary M. (Frank DiMinno), all of Syracuse; his sons, Andrew F. (Teresa) of Homer, Frederick W. (Debbie), William J. (Beth), Joseph R. Jr. (Sue), Robert J. (Michelle), Harold C. (Brenda), Peter J. (Ann), all of Syracuse, Edward P. (Genette) of Liverpool; his sisters-in-law, Freda Dempsey of Liverpool and Alice Andrews of Chili; brother-in-law, Pat Pallone of Manlius; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Bob Dempsey.
  The family would like to thank Dad's neighbors for all their help through the years and also to the V.A. Medical Center, 5 East Staff. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse.
  Services will be 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Assumption Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

  Mrs. Muriel D. Williams 57, of 6300 East Mud Mil Road, Brewerton, died  Wednesday, Dec. 15 in St. Joseph's Hospital.
  She had been employed by the Eraser Co. for 27 years.
  Mrs. Williams was a life resident of the town of Cicero.
   Surviving are three sons, Frank and Raymond, both of Brewerton, and Ronald R. of Bridgeport; a daughter, Muriel D. Taylor of Chittenango; her parents,, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Kingsbury of Brewerton; two brothers, Raymond I. Kingsbury of Central Square, and Irwin H. Kingsbury of Pennellville; two sisters, Margaret Sims of Clay R.D., and Shirley Rice of Hastings; and nine grandchildren.
  Services were held at the Hilton - Krueger - Maxwell Funeral Home, Brewerton. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery.

  FULTON— Donald Edward Halstead, 18, a sophomore at Fulton High School, died Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sopher, 208 Utica St., after an illness of six weeks. Born May 25, 1921, he had been a life resident of this city, and had been a member of the First Congregational Church, the Young People's Society of the church and Boy Scout Troop 62 of the church. He had been a second class Scout of the troop, as well as senior patrol leader. Surviving, besides his parents, are a sister, Dorothy Halstead; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Halstead, all of Fulton, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sopher home Tuesday at 2 P. M. and at 2:30 P. M. in the First Congregational Church, Burial in Mt Adnah Cemetery

  Floyd Boynton, 78, of Fulton, died Thursday at home surrounded by his family. A native of Fulton, Floyd was a life resident. He worked as housing inspector and sealer of weights and measures for the City of Fulton. He was a real estate broker through Lebro's Real Estate and formerly owned and operated Boynton's Hotel, Fulton. Floyd served as chairman and vice-chairman of the Oswego County Legislature and Legislative Representative for Fulton. He was a member of the Fulton City Republican Committee and was the recipient of the Distinguished Citizenship Award in 1999 by the Fulton Republican Party. He was also a member of the Fulton School District Board of Education; Oswego County B.O.C.E.S. Board of Education, where he was past president, and Oswego County Opportunities Board of Directors. Floyd served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army Air Force.
  Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Joyce of Fulton; four children, Floyd III of Fulton, Mary Reta (John) Smith of Hannibal, Wendy (Michael) Whitney of Fulton and Cheryl Boynton of Fulton; three grandchildren, Michael Smith, Stephanie Smith and Tricia Boynton. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, 13126.

Raymond Herbert Mapes

  Raymond Herbert Mapes, of Stickney Bridge Road, Au Sable Forks, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York. He was born in Deposit, New York, September 6, 1944, the son of Raymond and Josephine (Madugno) Mapes.
  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Independent Baptist Church, Keeseville, and enjoyed playing guitar and singing gospel music. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening.
  Ray worked for more than 14 years as a State Police officer and retired. He was also a member of the Au Sable Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars #8958.
