  DOWNS - Inez M. Griffith, 91, Downs, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005.
  Mrs. Griffith was born Inez M. blanding, on Sept. 11, 1913, in Barnard. She was a bookkeeper.
  She was preced in death by he rhusband, A. R. Griffith, in 1990.
  Survivors include her son, James R. of Downs; a step-daughter, June Kees of Tulsa Okla.; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandghildren.
  Th efuneral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Downs United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Downs Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to Downs Senior Center or the church.

Albert Ray Griffith

  DOWNS - Albert "Al" R.. Griffith, 82, Downs, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1990, at his home.
  Mr. Griffith was born Jan. 30, 1908, in St. Louis. He was in the meat packing business all of his life starting as a sausage meker with Armour & Co. in Chicago. In 19476, he and his wife purchased a locker plant in Barnard and began operating Griffith Provision. In 1985, the moved the business to Downs and operated it with their son Jim. He retired in 1985.
  He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Senior Citizen's Center, borh of Downs.
  Surviovrs include his wife, Inez of the home; a son Jim of downs; a daughter, June Kees of tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Glenn and Walter, both of Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Lillian shorty of Peoria; and five grandchildren.
  The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Downs United Methodist Church; Rev. B. Wayne Crist officiating. Burial will be in the Downs Cemetery.

  LINCOLN - Lucile N. Pruitt, 87, died Sunday, april 23, 2000, at Lincoln County Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Lincoln.
  Mrs. Pruitt was born Lucille Wallace on April 20, 19134, ar Barnard and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church and Jolly Neighbors Club, both of Barnard.
  Her husband Joseph died in 1992.
  Survivors include a daughtrer, Debra Rosebrook of Lincoln; four brothers, Rex Wallace of Mulvane, John Wallace and Frank Wallace, both of Barnard, and Kenneth Wallace of Minneapolis; and three grandchildren.
  The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Barnard, the Rev. Jonathan Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Milo Cemetery Barnard.

  Mr. Wallace was born July 20, 1917, at Barnard. He was a retired farmer and highway department worker.
  Survivors include hie wife, Helen of the home; two daughters, Barb Myers of Newton and Valarie Warkentine of Topekia; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

  MINNEAPOLIS - Kenneth Dale Wallace, 82, Minneapolis, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
  Mr. Wallace was born March 4, 1921, at Barnard, the son of Robert and Nettie (Blanding) Wallace. He graduated from Barnard High School in 1938. He served in the Army Air forces from 1942 to 1945, serving as radio operator in the South Pacific. He married Ellen O'Neill on Nov. 13, 1948 at Lincoln. He worked at Blanding Hardware in Barnard and at Blanding Motors and Nelson Ford in Minneapolis, retiring as parts manager in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church, serving as treasurer and deacon for many years.
  He was preceeded in death by his parents; five brothers, Wilber, Rex, John, Keith and Leo; and a sister, Lucile Pruitt.
  Survivors include his wife, Ellen of the home; three sons, Dennis and wife Carol Athey of Durham, N.C., Kirk and wife Carol of Katy, Texas, and Bret of Salina; two daughters, Marcia Iseminger and husband Steve of Olathe and Susan Fry and husband Phillip of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Frank of Barnard; 11 grandchildren, Tara and Pam Iseminger, alex, Allie, Candace and Copurtney Fry, Matthew,Michael and Mark Wallace, Kimberly Perkins and Heather Puckett; and three great-grandchildren.
  The memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baprist Church, Minneapolis, the Rev. Ron Walker officiating. Private family inurment will preced the serviceds in Milo Cemetery, rural Barnard.

  Frank D. Wallace, 81, rural Barnard, passed away Sun., Mar. 2, 2008 at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1927 on the Wallace family homestead east of Barnard. He graduated from Barnard High School in 1945 and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Helen M. Knudsen Nov. 6, 1953 at Concordia. They farmed on the family homestead all their married life. Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnard, the Salina Harness Club, the Kansas Draft Horse and Mule Association and the Kansas Shorthorn Association. He was well known for his Belgian horses and showed cattle for several years. Survivors include his wife Helen of the home; a son Max and wife Tammy of Barnard; two daughters, Lynnette and husband Mack Larrison of Topeka and Leesa and husband Ray Harshaw of Holton, 3 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and one sister. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM Thurs. at the First Baptist Church, Barnard, with Pastors Dennis Finch and Jim Nelson officiating. Burial in the Milo Cemetery, Barnard.

  Robert Blandins, 79, Salinas, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center, Salina.
  Mr. Blanding was born Dec. 29, 1921, at rural Barnard and was a former resident of Beloit, moving to Salina in 1997. He was a farmer and machenery mechanic for Balanding Implement Co., Beloit. He attended First Baptist Church, Barnard and First Christian Church, Beloit. He was a past master of Barnard Lodge AF&AM and past worthy patron of Barnard Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
  Survivors include his wife, Eula of Salina; a son, Roanld of Salina; a daughter, Roberta Burgess of Scott city; a brother, John of south Coffeeville, Okla.; a sister Annore Wolting of Barnard; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
  The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit, the Rev. Rick Grace officiating. Burial will be in Milo cemetery, rural Barnard.

Delmar Leroy Wolting

  Delmar Leroy Wolting was born on February 27, 1923 on the family farm in Lincoln County, Kansas, the son of Henry and Laura Reinert Wolting. He died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Lincoln Park Manor in Lincoln at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 13 days.
  Delmar grew up and spent his entire life in Lincoln County, where he farmed until he was nearly 90 years old. On June 16, 1946, he was united in marriage with Mildred “Ann” Blanding at her family’s farm. Four wonderful daughters were born to this union. They were privileged to spend more than 69 years of marriage together.
  He was a charter member of the Barnard Lions Club, and was an active member for more than 60 years. He was baptized in the St. John Lutheran Church, was a member of the Barnard United Methodist Church, and also served on the Barnard School Board for many years. After he retired, he and Ann loved to travel throughout the country. Delmar was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Milford; his sister, Melba Hart; and his granddaughter, Darlynn Kemling.
  Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Barnard United Methodist Church followed by burial in Milo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time Saturday at the Church. Memorials may be given to the Church.
