Maurine Edna Clark

 - Obituary (unsourced)
Maurine E. Maltsberger, 88, of Ontario, passed away on Jan. 6, 2013 at the Presbyterian Community Care Center in Ontario where she resided. For the last three years she has suffered from the effects of dementia and related issues.
The service to celebrate Maurine's life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Maurine was born in Wichita Falls, TX, but her parents moved back home to Stickney, SD for three years and then to Boulder, CO due to her dad's asthma. Three children were born into the family, each three years apart. They all attended Boulder, CO schools, with Maurine graduating from Boulder High School in 1943.
She attended the University of Colorado for one year before marrying Ivan E. Getman. He went into the Merchant Marines four months later and served for two years. He resumed farming in the Longmont, CO area when he returned home. In 1956 Ivan moved the family to Lafayette, CO to manage a Purina Feed Store then in 1961 the family moved to Ontario, OR where Ivan accepted a position as Sales Manager of Ranchway Feeds.
Maurine and Ivan had four children, Susan "Sue", Kathleen "Kathy", Gary, and Randall "Randy". All of the children attended Ontario schools. Maurine and Ivan were divorced in 1971.
She worked at a number of different jobs during her life. When she was first married she worked at Mountain States Telephone Co. for several years in Colorado. When they moved to Ontario she worked at Ore-Ida in Data Processing for eight years until they moved their head office to Boise, ID. She then worked part-time for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance until she got a job with Children's Services. A year later she had the opportunity to move up a class and transferred to Oregon State Police in the Ontario, OR office.
In 1982 she got a small apartment and commuted a couple of times a week to Baker City, OR where she was the District Secretary for the District Office. She retired in 1983.
In 1980 Maurine and John Maltsberger were married. They loved dancing and attended all of the Senior Citizens dances they could. They also wintered in Arizona for about five winters where Maurine loved to hike, bike, take side trips and do the EZ Exercise pool class.
She even got certified for teaching and did so in Ontario at the Senior Citizens for five years. She became a Mary Kay Consultant and loved her customers and the products she sold. The Senior Citizens was also one of her favorite places to be. She served on committees, ate many meals with friends, and danced her heart away with many friends for 30 years. Maurine and John divorced in 1987.
She was devoted to the Lord and her church, Christian Life Fellowship. Her favorite pastor and wife were Pastor Jack and Kay Becker. She helped with the little ones when she was younger, served on the Welcoming Committee and co-ordinated Meals on Wheels for their church for several years. Maurine was very verbal with all she came into contact with about how good God had been to her for her family and friends and as long as she could communicate she would bless everyone who took care of her.
She is survived by her brother, Carlyle C. Clark; daughters, Susan "Sue" Griffin and Kathleen "Kathy" Bingham; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Phyllis Billings; her two sons, Randall "Randy" and Gary Getman; one grandson, David Llona; and one great-great grandson, Ryan Roth.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Maurine by giving to a Christian charity of your choice, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
