Born in St. Johnsville, a daughter of Georg and Jennie Dempster Weaver, she graduated from Albany State Teachers College and was married in 1920. She had taught in Sayville, L. I., and East Creek and retired two years ago as an employe of Beech-Nut Life Savers, Canajoharie.
Surviving is a son, George Leonard, at home; another daughter, Mrs. Ethel Manclow, Azuza, Calif. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow from the Smith Funeral Home, St. Johnsville, with burial in St. Johnsville Cemetery.

ILION — William J. Leonard, 89, of 12 N. Division St., St. Johnsville, a Remington Arms Co. employe here for many years before retirement in 1959, died Saturday in Little Falls Hospital.
He was born in New York City, son of William B. and Anna Maria (Jenny) Leonard. As a boy he sang in the choir at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City.
Mr. Leonard married Hester S. Weaver in 1920 in Faville. He was a member and past commander of the Morris J. Edwards Legion Post, charter member of the Fort Plain VFW, member of St. Johnsville Masonic Lodge for 43 years and of the Methodist Church.
He served with the 306th Machine Gun Battalion of the 77th Division in World War I, winning several decorations, including the Purple Heart, for his action in battle during offensives in France.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Mandow, Azuza, Calif.; Mrs. Hester Shumway and Mrs. Lois Miner, Dolgeville, and a son, George D. Leonard, Ilion.
Rev. Charles Montgomery, St. Johnsville Methodist minister, will conduct services at 2 p.m. tomorrow from the Smith Funeral Home, St. Johnsville. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion. Burial will be in St.. Johnseville Cemetery this spring.

St. Johnsville - William Joseph Leonard Jr., 20, died Oct. 11, 1946 at Craig Colony, Sonyea, where he has been located for the past nine years.
He was born Feb. 9, 1926, a son of William J. and Hester Weaver Leonard. He attended the local Methodist Church and also had attended the Sound View School on the Hudson.
He is survived by his parents, this village; his maternal grandmothe, Mrs. Jenny Weaver, this village; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Bowman, Mrs. Floyd Manclow and Mrs. Stewart Huss, all of Fort Plain; one brother, George, St. Johnsville, and teo nieces.
The body was brought to the family home from where the funeral will b eheld today at 2 o'clock. Rev. L. Alden Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be made in Prospect View Cemetery.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Fred Kennedy, Johnstown, R. D. wore a street length dress of royal blue taffeta with a white hat and accessories. She carried a colonial bouquet of American Beauty roses.
Mrs. Helen Smith, Scotch Bush, Matron of honor, wore a street length dress of brown and white printed acetate with a white hat and accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.
Mr. Walter Smith, Scotch Bush was best man.
The bride's mother wore a street length dress of blue taffeta with a corsage of white carnations.
The bridegroom's grandmother Mrs. Jenny Weaver, St Jonsville wore a lilac dress of silk with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
A reception for fifty guests, given by the bride's parents, was held in their home following the ceremony.
The newly married couple left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls. For traveling the bride chose a lavender suit of linen with a white hat and white accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.
Mr. Leonard attended the St. Johnsville Central School and is employed by the Snyder Bicycle Company, Little F'alls.
After May 13, the couple will be at home at 13 North Division Street, St. Johnsville.

Clayton — Arthur N. Stratton, 80, Mercier Avenue, died Oct 4 at Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where he had been admitted Sept 29.
The funeral was Saturday at the Cummings Funeral Home Clayton, with the Rev Richmond Hutchins, rector, Christ Episcopal Church officiating. The body was cremated.

Born July 18, 1898, in Utica a son of George D and Bertha Pickney Stratton, he was graduated from Utica Free Academy and married R Madeline Sheldon in 1920 in Utica. He came to Clayton in 1966 after retiring from Bowes Brothers Wholesale Paper Co., Utica, where he was a general clerk.

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Franklin Downing of Delhi. Mrs. Downing was the former Miss. Beatrice Barry, daughter of the late Ernest Barry and Mrs. Barry who operated a farm in Sennett for many years before moving to Holland Patent. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the First Presbyterian Church Delhi. The Downings had two children, Rev. Barry Downing who is pastor of the church in Endwell, a suburb of Endicott and a daughter, Marcia, who is married and lives in Conn.

Holland Putent, Feb. 16.—Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Barry of Sennett, N. Y., former residents of this village, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Beatrice Anna Barry, to Franklin V. Downing, son of Dr. and Mrs. Vivian F. Downing of Poughkeepaie. The ceremony took place Friday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents with the Rev. George Gates, pastor of the Federated Church of Sennett, officiating. The bride was attended by her friend, Miss Frances Call of Norwich, and the best man was George Batt of Beacon, N. Y., a fraternity brother of the bridegroom.
The bride wore a gown of blue lace and wore a corsage of pink roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaid was dressed in a gown of green crepe and wore a corsage. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests were entertained at a luncheon in Auburn. The young couple left that afternoon for Ithaca where they attended the annual Junior Prom, the climax of Cornell University's junior week.
Mrs. Downing is a graduate of Auburn High School and attended Oswego Normal, after which she conducted a dancing studio in Norwich for some time. Mr. Downing took two years at Cornell in the agricultural course and is now engaged in farming with his uncle, D. LeRoy Tripp at Memphis.
Besides the bridal party the guests included Dr. and Mrs. V. F. Downing of Pougekeepsie, Mr. and Mrs. Tripp of Memphis, and Mrs. George Gates, Sennett. The bride was given a shower by the Tincknell sisters of Sennett and post-nuptial showers are to be given by Mrs. Charles Gates, Mrs. Steven Tripp and Mrs. Paul Moore. The young couple will reside at Memphis upon their return from a wedding trip. The bride is a niece of Mrs. C. J. Haigh, Lansing, Mich., were married at noon Saturday at the home of the bride's parents, members of the families being present. Rev. George N. Gates, pastor of Sennett Federated Church, officiated.
The attendants were Miss Beatrice Barry, sister of the bride, and Vasily D. Prianiehnikoff, of Harben, Manchuria, a classmate of Mr. Haigh at the University of Michigan. Miss Jean Sheldon played the piano.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory satin gown with lace sleeves. Her veil was shoulder length and attached to a satin turban matching her dress. She carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and white sweet peas. Her sister wore ashes of roses crepe, with matching accessories and carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses.
The wedding party took their places before a bank of ferns, palms and baskets of white chrysanthemums and pink snapdragon, arranged in the dining room of the Barry home.
A reception followed the ceremony, with dinner served at Springside Inn, West Owasco Lake Road. The tables were decorated with pink rose buds.
Mr. and Mrs. Haigh left in the afternoon for Binghamton, where they have taken an apartment at 6 North Street. Mr. Haigh is with the International Business Machine Company and will be in their service school at Binghamton until July 1.

The welding of Miss Marion Agnes Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morton D. Walker of East Genesee Road, and Leonard Alwin Brodt, son of Clayton A. Brodt of 78 Genesee Street, was solemnized at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 10 in First Presbyterian Church. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. A .Paul Wright, pastor, in the presence of many friends and relatives. Palms, fern, white snapdragon and candelabra effectively decorated the church.
The bride's father escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. She wore a gown of white bridal satin made with fitted bodice alencon lace-trimmed neckline, long fitted sleeves, and very full skirt terminating in oval train. Her headdress was a shirred silk illusion net bonnet trimmed with crystallised orange blossoms, fastened to a handrolled silk illusion full length veil extending over the train of her gown. She carried a shower bouquet of starlight roses and white Iris.
Attending Mrs. Brodt were her cousin, Mrs. Oscar H. Chipman, of Auburn, matron of honor; Miss Marion H. Smith of Auburn, Mrs. Louis Korth of Superior, Wisc, bridesmaids; and Marilyn and Sara Sue Depew, cousins of the bride, flower girls. James H. Cullen was best man, and ushers were Donald H. Walker, Albert C. Knight, Emery S. Osborn, and Frank E. Hill, all of Auburn.
Two solos were sung by Miss Doris Ridley, accompanied at the organ by William E. Swartz of Rutherford. N. J., cousin of the bride, who also played the wedding march.
Mrs. Chipman, matron of honor, wore a buttercup yellow jersey gown with matching accessories. Yellow roses and Boston daisies formed her bouquet and headpiece.
The bridemalds wore lee blue crepe gowns with pink mits. Their bouquets and headdresses were of mixed spring flowers. The two little flower girls wore pink marquisette gowns and carried colonial bouquets. Their poke bonnets matched their gowns, and they wore pearls given them by the bride.
Mrs. Walker, mother of the bride, selected a blue crepe dress with black accessories and an arrangement of briar cliff roses for her corsage.
A reception in the chapter house followed the wedding. About 250 guests were served by Mrs. Walter Casper, cateress, and her staff. Reception music was furnished by Miss Louise C. Titcomb, pianist, and Robert MacPhail, violinist.
The bride chose as her going away outfit a blue checked double-breasted suit with a matching topper and navy accessories. Her corsage was a gardenia, and sweetheart roses.
The bride gave her attendants gold open work bracelets. The ushers received gold tie sets, and the organist a leather billfold. The groom gave the bride a string of cultured pearls.Both Mr. end Mrs. Brodt are graduates of Auburn High School. The bride attended Arlington Hall, Virginia, and is a graduate of Central City Business Institute of Syracuse. She has been secretary at Cayuga County Farmers Insurance office. The bridegroom is associated with his father in Brodt's Jewelry store. He spent four years in the army, one with the forces in Iran. The couple will live at 44 Cayuga Street, after a wedding trip through the Greet Smoky Mountains and point south.
Mr. and Mrs. Brodt were entertained at many pre-nuptial events.
Out of town guests were present at the wedding from Corona, Calif.; Swampacott, Mass.; Passaic and Rutherford, N. J.; Cleveland, Ohio, and many nearby points.

The bride wore a long gown of white pure silk and Alencon lace over silk taffeta with a Sabrina neckline, short sleeves, princess style bodice and chapel train. A pearl Queen's crown held her imported silk illusion net veil. She carried a cascade of white roses, lilies of the valley and carnations with sprays of ivy.
Miss Susan C. Beachle was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Judith A. Slack and Miss Dianne Tomushumas. They wore ice blue aqua street length gowns of silk over taffeta. They wore large aqua rose headpieces and short veils. They carried colonial bouquets of roses and carnations.
Douglass R. Farry was best man. Ushers were Wayne Willis and Thomas J. Shea, the bride's brother.
A breakfast reception was held in Sherman's Restaurant, Syracuse, with relatives and close friends attending. The couple left on a trip through northern New York. Upon their return home they will be living at 12 Cardinal Path, Bayberry, Liverpool.
The bride graduated from St. Lucy's Academy and Powelson Business Institute. The groom is a graduate of Elbridge High school and Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam. Both are employed by the General Electric Co .
