  LaGrange, Philo B., 84, of Largo, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 2007) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast He was born in Rotterdam, N.Y., and came here in 1986 from Schenectady, N.Y., where he worked 42 years as a supervisor for General Electric. He was a Coast Guard veteran. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Geraldine; a son, Andrew, Garland, Texas; a grandson, Geoffrey LaGrange; and a great-grandchild. National Cremation Society, Clearwater.

Joyce E Bell

  VAN PATTEN, Joyce E. (Bell) Sept. 16 1932 - Sept 16 2010 Joyce passed peacefully early Thursday morning after a full and loving life. She would have been 78. Joyce was born in the small town of Fish House, New York. Her father and mother were Elwood and Anna Bell. Recently she resided in Folsom and Auburn, California. Joyce was married to John Van Patten in 1950 until his passing in 1993. Joyce also had a loving relationship with her partner Ray Nadeau of Auburn until his passing. Joyce has four loving children, her daughters, Diana Van Patten, Dawn Lechuga, Debbie Steinbar and her son Bruce Van Patten plus their spouses Gary Lechuga, Jerry Steinbar and Karen Van Patten. She is a grandmother and great grand mother with grand kids in New York, Colorado, Arizona and California. She is survived by her brother Doug Bell and preceded in death by her two brothers Harold and James Bell, all from the upstate New York area. In addition to her brothers and her sisters-in-law, she has many nieces, nephews and fam- ily members spread out in the New England area. To her dear friends and family, a celebration of her life was held on Sunday the 19th where your love and friendship was remembered and celebrated. A special thanks to her Hospice team for their special care. Her ashes will be buried at a later date in Broadalbin, New York. Joyce is deeply loved and will be missed everyday.

 - Wedding Announcement (The Leader-Herald, Gloversville and Johnstown, NY, Saturday, December 16, 1950)
  Miss Joyce Evelyn Bell, 409 West Main street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Bell. 36 Hoosac street, became the bride of John B. Van Patten, son of Mrs. Howard Van Patten, 18 North Broadway, Fonda, in a ceremony performed this afternoon at 2 at the Fonda Reformed church by the Rev. Gerard J. Roster.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a flamingo colored gabardine suit with black accessories. and a corsage of white roses.
  Her maid of honor was Miss Katherine Zelezniak, who wore a black suit with pink accessories, and a corsage of pale pink roses.
  The best man was Charles Leitt of Fonda.
  The traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Putman Cady, organist, of Fonda, and the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. Esther Bell, sang "Always" "Because" and "Oh Promise Me."
  The bride's mother wore a navy blue dress with matching accessories and the mother of the bridegroom wore a wine-colored dress with grey accessories. Each had a corsage of red roses.
  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church and the couple cut a three-tier wedding cake and presented personal gifts to their attendants. Another reception was held later for members of the immediate families at the home of the brides brother, Douglas Bell, in Hagaman.
  The couple left on a wedding trip to New York city. On their return they will set up residence in an apartment on the Fonda-Johnstown road.
  The bride attended Gloversvllle High School and the bridegroom was graduated from the Fonda High School. He now is employed with the U. S. Naval Supply Depot in Scotia.

Marriage Notes for Betty Ann Welzmiller and Charles William Anderson

 - Wedding Announcement (Niagara Falls Gazette, NY, Friday, July 3, 1953)
  Marriage vows were exchanged last Saturday between Miss Betty Ann Welzmiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harold Welzmiller, Seventy-third street, and A/ 1C, William Anderson, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W . Anderson. Eightieth street. White shasta daisies and baby tears decorated the altar of the First Methodist Episcopal church where the Rev. Shirley I. Travis officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of while Chantilly lace and tulle over bridal slipper satin, fashioned with a matching lace jacket. A fingertip veil of imported French illusion with a border of Chantilly lace was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white orchids encircled with white carnations.
   Miss Jane Welzmillcr, sister of the bride as maid of honor, entered the church carrying a colonial bouquet of yellow carnations and roses. A fitted jacket featuring a portrait neckline and short sleves complemented a green strapless gown fashoned of nylon net and matching picture hat.
  In similarly styled dresses of yellow and carrying colonial bouquets of green carnations and roses were the bridesmaids, Miss Patricia Welzmiller, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Oscar Clint. They also wore matching picture hats.
  Mr. John Beishline was best man. Mr. Erwin Broeker and Mr. Warren Carr, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, were ushers.
  The bride's mother wore a waltz-length gown of dusty rose Chantilly lace featuring navy blue accessories. She wore a corsage of white roses. The mother of'the bridegroom favored a Chantilly lace gown in a powder blue shade with pink accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
  Mrs. Howard Furrow, grandimother of the bridegroom was attired in a lace gown of gray over pink taffeia, with a rose corsage.
  A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Prospect house for more than 200 guests.
  For a trip through Canada the bride chose white linen suit with matching straw hat, white accessories and corsage of orchids.

  Jane A. (Welzmiller) Hartley, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012. She was 78. She was born in Niagara Falls on June 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Taggart) Welzmiller. She attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle High School in the Class of 1951.
  Mrs. Hartley was employed after graduation at Marine Trust Bank on Falls Street. After her children were born, she was a stay at home mom and enjoyed watching children of working mothers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, The Cayuga Island Garden Club, Red Hatters Society and a former member of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower arranging and was honored to receive the prestigious Tri Color Award in the artistic division.
  For the past 20 years she and her husband enjoyed their winters spent in Lady Lake, FL. Her other interests included traveling, including 10 Caribbean Cruises; gardening, camping, knitting, crocheting and going to the casino, but her greatest joy was her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
  Mrs. Hartley is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arthur F. Hartley; two children, Bruce (Lisa) Hartley of Cartersville, GA and JoAnne (Scott) Hailey of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren,Crystal and Alexander Hailey of Niagara Falls, and Juliana and Nathan Hartley of Cartersville, GA; and her sister, Betty Ann Hinchey of Bellevue, WA. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Woodean in 2010.

  Miss Rosalee E. Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Durward Miller of Bath, and Sgt. Gerald P. Keeney, USMCR, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Keeney of Hammondsport, were married at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Hammondsport, Wednesday by the Rev. Joseph McDonnell. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Thedrow Cole of Pulteney.
  The bride is a graduate of the Bath Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. For the past three years she has served as assistant superintendent of nurses at the Bath Hospital. Sergeant Keeney recently returned from two years' service in the South Pacific.
