Clarksville, Tennessee – Charles E. Drake, 76, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Drake was born in Oswego on August 27, 1933, the son of the late Garnet and Laura (Parkhurst) Drake. He had worked at the Alcan Aluminum plant in Scriba and, after retiring, settled down in Clarksville. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Navy. Chuck was a very talented and popular musician, and had his own band for 35 years. During that time, family and friends enjoyed hearing his music both locally, and in the surrounding counties. He took special pride in his cars, trucks, and motorcycle. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Paul Drake Sr. He is survived by his wife, Barbara McLaggan Drake of Tennessee; sons Charles "Dick" (Lisa) Drake of Oswego, and Trent Drake of Fulton; daughters Darnece Tetrev of Lagrange, Illinois, Melinda (Rich) Davies of Pulaski; and Lorena (Mike) Malone of Hannibal; sisters Audrey (Robert) Lawton of Surprise, AZ, and Sherry Rice of Oswego;17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. No service were planned. McReynolds - Nave and Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville had charge of arrangements.

LYCOMING - Ther marriage of Miss Shirley Jane Crymer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crymer of Martville, to Charles Ernest Drake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Drake of Lycoming, took place Jan. 29 [sic] at 3 p. m. in the Lycoming Methodist church with the Rev. William Loan of Cape Vincent, assisted by Rev. Charles Townsend perforning the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Ernest Fuller of Red Creek. A program of traditional music was rendered by Edward Goodness, cousin og the bridegroom. Verne Upcraft, cousin of the bridegroom, sang Because and The Lord's Prayer.
The bride wore a street length dress of pink taffeta trimmed with silver. She wore pink gloves and a small veiled hat of pink satin. Her flowers were orchids. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Audrey Drake, sister of the bridegroom. Her dress was light blue taffeta, trimmed in silver. She wore light blue gloves and hat to match. Her floweres were orchids.
Billy Crymer, brother of the bride, acted as ring bearer. The rings were carried on a white satin pillow, Teddy Myres was best man. Ushers were Glenn Guyle Jr., and Vern Upcraft.
The mother of the bride selected a dress of orchid with a corsage of red roses. The bridegrooms mother chose a navy blue taffeta dress with red roses.
A reception wa held at North Scriba Grange hall for 250 guests. Music has furnished by Curtis Coon and his Lycoming Hillbillies.
Upon returning from a brief wedding trip to Niagara Falls the bride will make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Drake while Seaman Charles Drake will return to duty in Rhode Island.

The wedding of Miss Theresa Marlene Davies and Charles Richard Drake, took place Saturday, June 12, in the Mexico Methodist Church, before the Rev. Kenneth Lord.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. James H. Davies. Central Square, RD 2. The bridegroom's parents are Mrs. John Cavallier, Bunker Hill Rd., Oswego, RD 7, and Charles Drake, Lycoming.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown fashoned by her grandmother, Mrs. Lella Sherman, Syracuse.
Matron of honor was Betty Jane Davies, Pulaski, sister-in-law of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Davies and Miss Sherry Davies, Houston, Tex., nieces of the bride. Miss Darnece Drake, Lycoming, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Brenda Davies, Cicero, sister-in-law of the bride.
Joe Lawton, Lycoming, friend of the bridegroom, was best man.
Ushers were John Lawton, Lycoming, friend of the bridegroom, Richard Davies, Central Square, brother of the bride, Paul Berlin, Oswego, and Mark Ochsenbein, Lycoming, friends of the bridegroom.
Miss Jeannine Davies, Pulaski, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid with Trent Drake, brother of the bridegroom, as junior usher.
Flower Girles were Heather and Mandy Davis, Cicero, Nieces of the bride. Ring bearer was Jeff Davies, Cicero, nephew of the bride.
After a reception at the Gay 90s, New Haven, the couple left for Niagara Falls, Can. Mr. and Mrs. Drake will reside in Fulton.
The bridegroom is employed with H.H.F.E. Bean at Miller Brewery.

Airforce. Mrs. Lawton has been spending a few weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Drake. The family returned the last part of October from a three-year tour of duty in Germany.

Donald A. "Poopsie" Rice, 58, of 121 W. Bridge St.4 Oswego, died Friday, Dec. 13, at Oswego Hospital from injuries after being struck by an automobile while crossing West Bridge Street.
Born in Oswego, Mr. Rice was a retired member of the Labors Local 214 and had been employed on many local construction projects.
Mr. Rice was a member of the Oswego Moose Lodge. He served in the Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sherrie Drake; three daughters, Brenda Rice of Fulton, Connie Rice and Pamela Rice both of Oswego; four sons, Brian and Wayne both of Lycoming, Robert and Garnet "George" both of Oswego; two brothers, George of Oswego and Clarence of Humble, Texas; five sisters, Jenny Rice of Martville, Ruth Owen of Fulton, and Pearl Taylor, Mary Gummer, and Ellen Burnswick all of Oswego; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street-length dress of white nylon with a fitted bodice of white satin and lace. She wore a headband of white flowers and carried a colonial bouquet.
Miss Judy Gibson was maid of honor. She wore a green taffeta street-length dress with headpiece to match. She also carried a colonial bouquet
Gene Bailey, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Leo Dillenbeck of Lycoming and Richard Proctor were ushers. Ringbearer was Charles Richard Drake nephew of the bride.
Darnice E. Drake, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore a dress of white satin with 1ace and pink trimming and a matching headpiece of pink rosebuds. She carried a bouquet of pink and white rosebuds.
Reception was held at the home of the bride. The bride chose a blue dress with white accessories for her trip to Lake Placid.
The new couple will make Their home at 176 East Seneca St.

Brenda L. Rice, 46, of Liverpool, NY and formerly of Oswego, passed away Saturday March 22, 2014, at her home. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of Sherry Drake Rice and the late Donald Rice.
Brenda had worked for many years with Oswego Industries in Fulton, NY, and more recently she'd worked as a telephone operator with CNYDSO.

Susan J. Blake Miniaci, 51, of Cuyler, New York, died Sunday suddenly at her home. Born in Fulton, Susan was a life-resident before moving to Cuyler three years ago. She worked as a dental assistantfor Dr. Michael Botty in Fulton for 19 years, PHP Health Center, Radisson and Family Medical Practice, Cortland, Susan was a 1970 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, Fulton and attended Rochester Dental Assistant School, Rochester. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Fulton and Athena Triangle, Fulton where she was past beloved queen. Surviving are: a son, John W. Miniaci of Baldwinsville; her parents, Barbara and Harold A. Blake Jr. of Fulton; her companion, Marvin Meissner of Cuyler; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
