Mrs. Ferne E. Sherwood Mrs. Ferne E. Sherwood West Winfield Ferne E. Sherwood, 84, a lifelong resident of West Winfield died June 5, 2008 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. She was born May 5, 1923 in Nelson, NY daughter of the late Charles Albert Hughes and Bell Jones Hughes and graduated from Utica Free Academy and the Excelsior School of Business. Ferne married Raymond T. Sherwood on June 19, 1948 in Utica.
She worked for many years as a secretary for the Mt. Markham School District. She was a lifelong member of the Federated Church of West Winfield and was a member of the Winfield Chapter # 418 Order of the Eastern Star.
Ferne is survived by her husband Raymond of West Winfield, her children Robert Sherwood and his wife Barbara of North Creek, NY, Bruce Sherwood and his wife Beth of Morrisville, NY, Four Grandchildren, her brother Gerald Hughes and wife Mary of Colorado Springs, CO, and her sister Muriel Crane of Ithaca, NY.
Calling hours are on Sunday from 1 -3 PM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home 365 West Main St., West Winfield. Winfield Chapter # 418 OES will conduct services at 3:00 PM. The funeral with Rev. Dr. Richard Tulip, officiating, will follow the Eastern Star Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Federated Church, West Winfield, NY.

News Release
J. Carl Wilcox, 71, of Hattiesburg, Miss., formerly of Fulton, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at home.
Born in Fulton, Mr. Wilcox moved in 1985 to Greenville, S.C. and to Hattiesburg in 1987. He retired in 1996 as the manager of engineering
at Georgia Pacific Mill Services in Hattiesburg after 10 years. He had previously worked as the manager of engineering at Black Clawson for
28 years.
Mr. Wilcox was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg and a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Fulton where he had
served on various committees. He was a member of Fulton Shirts and Skirts Square Dance Club and Jubilee Squares in Hattiesburg. He was a
former member of B.P.O.E. Lodge in Oswego and Hiram Lodge 144, F.& A.M. in Fulton.
He was a graduate of Fulton High School, Canton College, and had attended Syracuse University. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was the son of D. Ceamer and Freda Wilcox. He was predeceased by his son, David Wilcox, who died in 1973.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Sally Ketchum Wilcox of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two daughters, Lynne (James) Leach of Fulton and Sherrie
(Donald) Major of Simpsonville, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Katie Apicelli of Fulton, and McKenzie and McKel Major, both of
Simpsonville, S.C.
Services were held this morning, Oct. 23 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Fulton. Burial was in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, South First and Academy Streets, Fulton, N.Y. 13069.

David J. Wilcox, 18 of Fulton RD 3, Town of Granby died unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Bartlesville, Okla. he was the son of J. Carl and Sally Ketchum Wilcox. He resided in the Fulton area most of his life.
He was a senior at G. Ray Bodley High School and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where he was an acolyte.
He was a member of the local chapter, Order of De Molay, and Boy Scout Troop 13.
He was a stock boy at Mirabito's Supermarket.
Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, the Misses Lynne and Sherrie Wilcox; his parental grandparents Mr. and Mrs. D. Ceamer Wilcox of Fulton; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ketchum Jr. of Syracuse, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hazel E. Ketchum of Fulton.
Services were in All Saints Episcopal Church. Burial was in Mt. Adnah Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Foster Funeral Home.

Honor attendant was Raschelle Pitcher, Hannibal, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Karen Pasiak, Oswego, sister of the bride, Diane Germain, Oswego, sister of the bride, and Jean Hough of Rochester, sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid was Cristy Germain, niece of the bride.
Sam Doss, Fulton, friend of the bridegroom, was Best Man.
Ushers were Bill Crook, Fulton, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Don Hough, Fulton, brother of the bridegroom, and John Fleming, Fulton, friend of the bridegroom. Junior usher was Thomas, Ure, Oswego, brother of the bride.

Organist and soloist was Frank Warren.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Masonic Temple, Fulton.
The couple will reside at 33A Wine Creek Apartments, Oswego.
A 1980 graduate of Oswego High School and Oswego County BOCES, the bride is presently employed at J.C. Penney's in Oswego.
The bridegroom graduated from Phoenix High School and Oswego County BOCES. He is employed at Bill's Exxon in Oswego.
