MR. AND MRS. Elmer Normandeau have announced the engagement of their daughter, Nancy lone, to Lieutenant j.g. Glenn R. Koch, U.S.N R, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Koch of Rochester, N.Y.
Miss Normandeau, an honor graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, received her bachelors degree from the University of Rochester in June. She will teach third grade in the Camp Springs Elementary School in Maryland this fall.
Her fiance received his AB degree in 1960 from the University of Rochester where he was a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity. After completing an eighteen month tour of duty in Morocco, North Africa, he is at present stationed near Washington, DC. with the U.S. Navy.
An October wedding is planned.

Reese A. Hughes, 55, of Granbury, Texas and formerly of New Hartford, died Monday, August 13, 2007 in Texas. He was born March 30, 1952 in Utica the son of Elliott R. and Elizabeth Wheeler Hughes. He graduated from New Hartford High School where he was on the Wrestling Team and played the tuba in the school band. He also graduated from Morrisville College and Cornell University.
He worked as a quality control engineer at Rome Cable when he lived in this area. On January 26, 2005 he married Lisa Mueller in Glen Rose, TX. He was formerly married to Diane Beach Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was a member of the New Hartford United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Lisa of Granbury, TX, his mother, Elizabeth "Libby" Hughes of New Hartford, a son, Benjamin Hughes of NC, a step daughter, Carmen Vass of London, England and a step son, Tristan Vass of Granbury, TX. He also leaves two sisters, Darlene Riley of Utica and Mary Hughes of Birmingham, AL, a half brother, Charles Cassel of Watertown, his former wife, Diane Hughes of Boonville and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Hughes.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, August 24 at 12 noon at the New Hartford United Methodist Church. A luncheon reception will follow the service in the church hall. A graveside service at Crown Hill Memorial Park will take place on Friday at 11 AM prior to the church service.

Wesley W. Hoyer, 74, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 at Hot Springs County Hospital in Thermopolis.
Mr. Hoyer was born May 30, 1933 in Sundance, the son of George and Betty (Sawyer) Hoyer. Raised in Sundance, he attended school there.
On Aug. 16, 1957, Wes married Marjorie Simpson in Casper. The couple followed highway construction, with numerous companies, all over the state of Wyoming until Wes went to work at Shirley Basin in Utah International in February of 1969. From 1975 to 1987 he was employed at Decker Coal in Sheridan. His next venture was in the gold mine in Elko, Nev. for a year. From 1989 to 1994 he was employed by Walnut Creek in Calvert, Texas. He retired and came home to Wyoming where he did a lot of haying for neighbors until the beginning of Alzheimer's. In 2004 Mr. and Mrs. Hoyer moved to Thermopolis.
His interests were fishing, hunting, horseback riding, farming and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mae and Fern.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Thermopolis; son, Wayne (Lottie) Hoyer of Greeley, Colo.; daughters, Tammy (Jim) Kibler and Brenda Hoyer, both of Sheridan; brother, Dutch Hoyer of Glenrock; sisters, Darlene Taylor of Spearfish, S.D. and Zelma Hoyer of Sundance; six grandchildren, Toni, Timothy, Brittni, Kristofer and Joshua; and one great-grandchild, Summer.
Cremation has taken place.

Coffeyville - Ronald Lee Caulkins, 73, of Cherryvale, formerly of Dearing, passed away Monday, August, 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Independence.
He was born October 19, 1939, east of Independence, to Wallace D. and Jessie Clara (Martin) Caulkins. Ronald grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School. Following high school he attended Coffeyville Community College.
On April 26, 1958 he married Patricia Gilstrap. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Coffeyville area where they raised their two sons and Ron was employed as a Machinist at Funk Mfg. Co now John Deere Coffeyville Works. Patricia preceded him in death on December 28, 1986.
On August 21, 1987 he married Carol (Jarrett) McGovney. After their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Following Ron's retirement in 1994 they moved to Grand Lake, OK where they lived until moving to South Coffeyville, OK. Ron worked for Montgomery County, driving a Road Maintainer and tractor for several years before retiring. In 2000 they moved to Dearing for 11 years, in 2011 they moved to Cherryvale.
Ron had attended Central Baptist Church north of Coffeyville, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Grove, OK, and the Retreads. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, and tractors, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; two sons, Russell Caulkins, and Martin J. Caulkins both of Coffeyville; one step-daughter, Stephanie Edens of Cherryvale; one step-son, Steven McGovney of Coffeyville; one brother, Verlyn Caulkins of Coffeyville; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patricia; and two brothers, Gene and Greg Caulkins. Graveside Services celebrating Ron's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery Veterans Memorial Patio, with Rev. Eric Lange of the Cherryvale Christian Church officiating.
Following Ron's wishes after the service, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Greg M. Caulkins, 53, of rural Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, March 17, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 26, 1954 at Coffeyville, Kansas, to Wallace D. and Jessie Clara (Martin) Caulkins.
He grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1972.
Greg was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1975 until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1977.
Following his discharge he returned to Coffeyville where he worked as an Operating Engineer at Farmland Refinery until retiring for health reasons in 2000.
On August 21, 2007 he married Susan K. Kirchesh in Coffeyville, Kansas.
He was a member of the International Association of Operating Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of the home; one son, Keith Caulkins of Coffeyville, KS; one daughter, Katie Caulkins of Coffeyville, KS; two step-daughters, Kerri Horton of Claremore, OK, and Katie Horton of Coffeyville, KS; two brothers, Ronald Caulkins of Dearing, KS, and Verlyn Caulkins of Coffeyville, KS; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be March 19, 2007, at the Springhill Cemetery, north of Coffeyville, Kansas, with Rev. Gerald Holden and Pastor Mike Graham officiating.
