  WORTHINGTON, Marjorie Elizabeth of Woodbury, NJ passed away peacefully March 17, 2011 at Churchmans Village in Newark, DE surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 26, 1920 in Ilion, NY to Joanna Burrill Fay & Hamilton Lucius Fay. Following one year of nurses' training at Holyoke Nursing School in Holyoke, MA, she followed her heart and in 1940 married her husband, Lester Peirce Worthington Jr. and moved to Woodbury. She was a loving homemaker and mother of four children. She was a lifetime member of the Central Baptist Church, and in her children's early years she was a primary Sunday school teacher. Marjorie was past president of the Junior Women's Club of Woodbury. In her middle years she worked for Dr. Richard Leedy as a clerical receptionist. Her greatest joys in life were found in spending time with her children and their families.
  Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Donald F. (Janet) Worthington of Ontario, Canada, Carol W. (Philip) Keiffer of Newark, DE, Judith W. (Johnny) Mitchum of Snead Ferry, NC & William E. (Marie) Worthington of Mantua; 8 grandchildren, Douglas S. Worthington, Susan M. Perkins, Elizabeth F. Carey, Scott W. Keiffer, William R. Long, William Worthington Jr., Jeffrey & John Worthington; & 5 great grandchildren. Others who will remember her with much love and affection are a great many nieces & nephews, her husband's siblings, Elizabeth Chamberlain of LaConner, WA, Norton Worthington of Woodbury, John Worthington of Foxboro, MA, Cynthia Hatt of Albany, NY, and, additionally, Judith Stewart Worthington of Moorestown. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, & her brother Hamilton Burrill Fay. Visitation Tuesday 10am until the Service at 12noon at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 171 Delaware Street Woodbury, NJ. Interment Eglington Cemetery.

  Mrs. Mary (Bump) Fay, aee 47, of 4 Kenwood Dr.. Goffstown, N.H., died early Monday rnorning at her home following a long illness.
  She was born in Kearny, N.J. She has been a resident of Goffstown for the last four years. She previously resided in Waseca, Minn and Dayton, Ohio. She was educated in the Catonah, N.Y. elementary schools, and then the Ilion High School. She graduated from the Potsdam State Teachers College, where she received her degree in music She received her Masters degree in ELementary Education from the Brockport, N.Y. State Teachers College. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Goffstown. She was active on the board of Christian Education and served as a teacher in, the Sunday School Dept. and was a member of the church choir.
  Member[s] of her family include her husband. Hamilton B. Fay; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Bissonnette and Miss Christinia Fay; two sons. Curtis D. Fay and Timothy G. all of Goffstown, her parents. Horace and Marion (Crook) Bump, they are from Mohawk, N. .Y; two sisters. Mrs. James Thabet, from Berkley Heights. N.J. and Mrs. James Bartleson, Rocherster, N. Y.
  Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Congregational Church. Goffstown. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Goffstown.

  Margaret F. Ainslie (nee Fay), 89, of the Cedar Community in the town of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
  She was born Sept. 9, 1916 in Dolgeville, N.Y., to the late H. Stuart and Ellen (nee Futherup) Fay.
  In 1934 she graduated from Ilion High School in Ilion, N.Y. and one year later, in 1935, she graduated from the Utica School of Commerce.
  Margaret's ambition was to become a nurse, and in 1939 she graduated with an MS in nursing from the Presbyterian School of Nursing and began working at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y.
  She was united in marriage to Robert B. Ainslie, on Dec. 28, 1940, at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Ilion.
  Together she and her husband lived in Syracuse for six months before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in 1941 where her husband completed a fellowship in surgery at C Cleveland Clinic.
  In 1942 Margaret and Bob were appointed as missionaries to China. Bob left in March of 1943; however Margaret was unable to get passage because of the War and she returned to Ilion.
  In 1947 Margaret followed Bob to West China with their daughter Susan, where they lived until May, 1949 when they had to leave due to Communist infiltration.
  From 1949 to 1952 Margaret set up home in the Philippines and taught student nurses at the American Baptist Hospital in Iloilo.
  She and her family returned to the United States in 1952 and moved to Cleveland, where they lived until 1954.
  The family then moved to Madison, where they remained until 1983.
  Margaret was not only a skilled nurse, but also a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
  She loved sewing, knitting, embroidering and gardening; she served many hours as a member of the Methodist Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary in Madison.
  Margaret was also an active member at Lake Edge United Church of Christ, Madison.
  When she and Bob moved to Penney Farms Retirement Community in Florida in 1983, Margaret was again active in sewing and quilting activities.
  She also reestablished herself as a trumpet player, which she had played in high school.
  Margaret returned to Wisconsin with Bob in December of 2002 where they resided at Cedar Community in West Bend.
  Survivors include by her daughter, Susan (Roy) Sellars of Sheboygan; three sons, John (Christine) Ainslie of Sun Prairie, Fred (Christine) Ainslie of Ironwood, Mich. and William (Vicki) Ainslie of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Terry Ainslie of Milwaukee; a sister, Dorothy (William) Slocum of Belleview, Fla. and two brothers, Robert Fay of Carrabelle, Fla. and William Fay of Little River, S.C.
  She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
  Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Robert, a son, Tom, and her great-great-granddaughter, Breanna Maree Loomis.
  A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at Lake Edge United Church of Christ, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, with Rev. David Michael officiating.
  Visitation will be at the church on Dec. 3 beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 6130 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, 53214 or to Cedar Community, 5595 Highway Z, West Bend, 53095.
  Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend, is assisting the family.

   Miss Fay is on the nursing staff of Mary Imogene Bassett hospital at Cooperstown.
  Dr. Ainslie, who recently returned to Ilion after serving as a medical missionary in China, has accepted a position on staff of the Syracuse Memorial hospital and will begin his duties on July 10.
  No date has been set for the wedding.

  Ilion - Miss Margaret Ellen Fay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Stuart Fay, 10 Grant St., and Dr. Robert Brown Ainslie, son of Rev. and Mrs. Fred W. Ainslie, 110 West St. were united in marriage at 3:30 p. m. Saturday in St. Augustine's Episcopal Church.
  The Rev. L. R. Benson assisted by the Rev. Mr. Ainslie officiated at the ceremony which was performed before members of the families and friends.
  Mrs. Frederick Fay Smith, sister of the bridegroom was the matron of honor and Robert Fay, Brother of the bride, was the best man. Bridesmaids were Miss Clarissa Walsh, New York City, and Miss Dorothy Fay, sister of the bride. Actiing as ushers were William Fay, Malvin Applegate and Leonard Hagen.
  The bride was attired in a gown of white silk jersey with a finger-tiv veil of white tulle. she carried white roses and gardenias tied with streamer ribbons. The matron of honor wore dusty rose chiffon and carried blue iris tied with silver streamer ribbons.
  The bridesmaids gowns were of silver-blue moire taffeta and they carried bouquets of American bauty roses tied with ribbons. Mrs. Fay, mother of the bride, wore a saphire blue chiffon velvet dress and wore a corsage of white pompons and gardenias, while Mrs. Ainslie, mother of the groom, wore wine-red crepe trimmed with sequins and had a corsage of white roses.
  Mrs, Luella Schwarts played the organ during the ceremony which was followed by a reception at thehome of the bride's parents, after which the couple left on a short wedding trip.
  Dr. Ainslie is a resident member of the Syracuse Memorial Hospital and the couple will reside at 211 Clarenden St., Syracuse, upon their return.
  Dr. Ainslie was graduated from the Ilion High School, Colgate University and the Rochester Medical School. He served as a medical missionary in China for 18 months before returning to this county. He is a member of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity.
  The bride was gradusted from the Ilion High School, the Utica School of Commerce and the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and 1938.

  Ilion . . . Robert H. Fay, teacher of physics and chemistry at llion High School for the last eight years, has accepted a position at Yale University to do research work in physics, beginning July 1.
  His resignation from the llion school system was confirmed this morning by Superintendent of Schools George Purple, who said the system regretted the Ioss of such a capable teacher but that officials were personally happy for the promotion of Fay.
  Mr. Fay, a native of llion graduated from llion High School and attended Columbia University and graduated from Colgate in 1942. During World War 2 he served with the Navy m the Carribean and Pacific Theatres and was commanding officer of the YMS 40 and the, AM 384.
  He is presently the commanding officer of the Naval Reserve Surface Division 3-100 at Utica.
   Mr. Fay has done graduate work at the University of Virginia, Utica College and Colgate University and was a member of Psl Upsllon fraternity.
  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Fay, 23 Kenyon Court, Utica, and is married to the former Norma Wheelock of llion. Mr. and Mrs. Fay have three children. Robert 8, Norma S, and Charles 3.
  The family will move to New Haven during the summer.

  The bride wore a gown of organza and Chantilly lace over taffeta, the scalloped neckline edged with lace, a side draped bouffant skirt appliqued with lace. A pearl pillbox held her Illusion veil. She carried stephanotis and a white orchid on her prayerbook.
   Mrs. Peter B. Albertsman, matron of honor, wore a waltz length gown of yellow chiffon over taffeta and carried yellow roses. Peter B. Albertsman was best man for his brother. Ushers were Scott Kenerson, the bride's brother, and Raymond J. Miller.
   Guests were present from Buffalo, Rochester, Endicott and New York City.
  After a reception at Ulysses Grange Hall, the couple left for Washington, D.C. They will live in Trumansburg.
  Mrs. Albertsman was graduated from Trumansburg Central School in 1962. She is employed at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell. Mr. Albertsman was graduated from Trumansburg Central School in 1960. He is employed in the Supply Division of National Cash Register Co.

  Marian Polo of 20 Sylvan St., Richfield Springs, passed away on September 3, 1977 at Bassett Memorial Hospital, Cooperstown.
  Born in Jordanville, NY on March 18, 1918, the daughter of Asa and Eleanor House Geer. She attended schools in Jordanville and Richfield Springs. She married Peter A. Polo in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs on September 27, 1941. At the time of her death she was employed by the Waterville Knitting Co. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Richfield Springs.
  In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie Polo of the home address; a brother, Merritt Christman, Lorain, OH: three sisters, Mrs. George (Margaret) Quayle of Mohawk, Mrs. Virginia Jacquays of Ilion, and Mrs. Patricia Bruce of Richfield Springs; several nieces and nephews.
  Visiting hours at the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Sunday September 5 at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Christian Wake Service will be said at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 PM.

  Richfield Springs - Peter Anthony Polo, 68, died on Friday, October 10, at Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion, where he had been a patient for one week. He was born on October 17, 1917, in Richfield Springs, a son of Dominic and Rose Lorenzo Polo. He married the former Marian Geer on September 27, 1941. She died on September 1, 1977. He graduated from Richfield Springs High School in 1937. He served in the Army during World War II. For several years, he worked for J. K. Neuschel Tire Company. In the early 50's, he was the Village Policeman. In 1967, he retired from the Town of Richfield Highway Department, where he had been a heavy equipment operator. His life long interest in sports and youth included football referee and baseball umpire. He was active with the local little league. For many years, he was the announcer for the home football games at R.S.C.S. In May of this year, he was honored by the Sports Booster Club with a Plaque of Appreciation. Since 1939, Mr. Polo has been a member of the Richfield Springs Fire Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post 616, Richfield Springs.
  Survivors include a daughter, Miss Rosemarie Polo, of Richfield Springs; an aunt, Margaret Polo, of Oneonta and nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, at St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
  Friends may call at the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs, Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil service, 7:30 p.m. Fire Department service 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the R.S.C.S. Sports Booster Club or the Richfield Springs Fire Department.

  — Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Polo entertained at a variety shower at their home in Prospect Street Sunday afternoon in honor of Miss Marian Geer, who on September 27th will become the bride of their son, Peter Polo.
 - Wedding Announcement (The Otsego Farmer, Cooperstown, NY, Friday, October 3, 1941)
  The marriage of Miss Marian Sarah Geer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Christman of this village, to Peter Anthony Polo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Polo, was solemnized in St. Joseph's church Saturday morning, September 27th, at 10 o'clock by the Reverend Arthur Y. Kelly. The bride wore white crepe de chine with lace inserts, a tulle veil of shoulder length attached to a tiara of gardenias and carried white roses and white pompoms. Her maid of honor, Miss Angeline Agresti, wore blue brocaded satin with a tiara of blue and carried pink roses. Miss Elizabeth Rickard of Little Falls was bridesmaid and her gown was of pink brocaded satin with a tiara of the same shade and her flowers were pink roses. Anthony Famulare was best man and Merritt Christman, a brother of the bride, was usher.
   A reception was held at the home of the groom's parents, after which Mr. and Mrs. Polo departed on a trip in the Western part of the state. On their return they will live with Mr, and Mrs. Dominic Polo in Prospect street.

  UNADILLA FORKS - Mrs Addie J. Land, wife of William G. Land of this community, died Saturday, December 18 at St Luke's Memorial Hospital Center.
  Private Funeral services will be conducted on Monday from the Wilcox Funeral Home. West Winfield. There are no public calling hours.
