  South Otselic, Feb. 13— LeRoy Olds and Miss Marjorie Taylor, both of Cortland, were quietly married Wednesdav evening. Feb. 5, at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Olds of Otselic. by Rev. J. C. Whitney, the ring ceremony being used. The couple were attended by Clarence Olds and Delores Olds, brother and sister of the groom. Following the ceremony, a wedding luncheon was served. The groom is employed with the Cortland Steam laundry and the bride is a graduate of the Nurses' training class of Cortland hospital. Both are also graduates of South Otselic high school. The young couple are residing at 33 Greenbush street in Cortland.

  An Air Force officer, he is currently studying for his master's degree at Harpur College.
  After a honeymoon at Cape Cod, the newlyweds will live in Binghamton.

  Mrs. Jay Conley has been called to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Waghorn in Earlville, by the death of her brother, Pfc Robert Waghorn.
 - Obituary (Daily Sentinal, Rome, NY, Thursday, January 28, 1943)
  Oneida, Jan. 28.— Pfc. Robert G. Waghorn, 27, of Oriskany Falls, native of East Hamilton, Madison County, died at Camp Shilo, Manitoba, Canada, Tuesday, from pneumonia. He was serving with the U. S. Army ordnance department.
  He was the son of Victor and Marion Waghorn. Most of his life had been spent in Earlville, where he was inducted into service two years ago. In June, 1942, he married Emma Moon of Oriskany Falls.
  Surviving besides his wife and parents, are a son, Robert Douglas, by a former wife; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Conley of Earlville, Mrs. Harold Platz, Texas, and Miss Joyce Waghorn, California. The body arrived last night in Rome and will be taken to the Oriskany Falls home for rites.

  Niles Wilbur Churchward, son of Henry and Nancy Churchward, was born November 13, 1894, at Dodge Center, Minnesota, and passed from this life Sunday December 28, having reached the age of 47 years, 1 month and 15 days.
  Most of his life has been spent in the vicinity of Dodge Center. He was baptized as a young boy, and in 1911 joined the Methodist Church. He attended Dodge Center schools, graduating in the class of 1914. He attended the Electrical School of Engineering in Milwaukee, and had only four months of his course to finish when he was called into service in the first World War, serving overseas in Company F, 115th Engineers.
  Mr. Churchward was united in marriage with Miss Mildred Sperling of Dodge Center September 1, 1919. One daughter Marieta was born to this union.
  Mr. Churchward has operated a truck farm near Dodge Center for many years, and for the past six years has owned and operated the Churchward Hatchery. He also recently opened a feed store in Dodge Center.
  Mr. Churchward was a charter member of Wells-Peterson Post No. 384 of the American Legion, and a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 41.
  He is survived by his aged mother, his wife Mildred, his daughter Marieta, two brothers, Clayton of St. Paul, and Vern, of Muskegon, Michigan, and many relatives and friends. His father and three brothers have preceded him in death.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. D.S. Tyron officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery with the American Legion conducting services at the grave.
  The church was not large enough to accomodate all who wished to attend the funeral and several were turned away. (Andrews)
 - Niles Churchward Killed In Auto-Train Accident

  While making a despeate attempt to escape injury when it appeard his automobile would run into a passenger train at the Great Western railroad crossing at east Main Street Sunday morning. Niles Churchward lost his life when he was thrown under the wheels of the moving train when the impact swerved the car in another direction.
  Niles, who has a hatchery and a small farm on the edge of town at east Main Street, was on his way home from a trip downtown whe the accident occurred. He had gotten his mail and spent a short time visiting with friends before leaving in his auto on the trip to his home.
  Apparently he deep in though and did not notice the 11:10 Great Western passenger train about to pull over the crossing on its way to the depot. Attempting to avoid running into it, he pulled the emergency brake of his car, and then as the auto slid on the slippery road, opened the door to jump out. His auto struck the second baggage car and was turned in such a manner he was thrown under the wheels of the train.
  Niles death removes from the community a good and respencted business man. The hatchery which he established has continued to grow each years, and last summer he established and office and warehouse downtown in the creamery warehouse building. In his downtown office he kept several batteries of chicks and his large stock of feeds. (Andrews)
