Miss Battisti was graduated from Ithaca High School and is a senior at State College ofr Teachers, Albany. She ia a member of Pi Omega Pi, national honor society in business education; Myskania, honorary judicial society, and Chi Sigma Theta, social sorority.
Mr. Streeter was graduated form State College, Albany with a bachelor of science in commerce and a master's degree in guidance. He is a member of Edward Eldred Potter Club social fraternity. He is now serving in the United Staztes Army at For Dix, N,J,

Miss Mary Louise Battisti, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Frank J. Battisti. 413 Spencer Rd., Ithaca, and Francis Orason Streeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orason Streeter, 337 Harter St., were married at 11 a. m. Saturday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ithaca.
The Rev. Francis Des Rosiers, Old Forge, uncle of the bridegroom, officiated at the ceremony and Nupital Mass. A blessing from Pope Pius XII was read.
The sanctuary was decorated with bouquets of white gladioli and pompons, with a banking of palms, and the pews were tied with white satin bows. Adriana Rubens, organist, played "Wedding March." by Kieckle; "Recessional," Rossini; and "Meditation" by Thais, and sang Bach-Gounod's “Ave Maria’’ and Franck’s “Panis Angelieus.” Music for the Nuptial Mass eas Montani's "Missa Brevis."
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace, with bateau neck, fitted bodice and long pointed lace sleeves. The scalloped lace skirt styled with pleated nylon tulle ruffles down the front, over a double ruffle of pleated ulle, with a cathedral train. Her French illusion fingertip veil was caught to an open crown of pearls and sequins and she carried a white prayerbook topped with a white orchid, stephanotis, liliesof-the-valley and ivy.
Mrs. Frank L. Battisti, Ithaca, matron of honor, wore a floorlength gown of pink crystalette, with scoop neckline and short sleves, the boddice fashoned with a diamond detail of the same fabric. Her pink open crown was embroidered in pearls with an illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of blue delphinium with pink garnet rose accent.
Bridesmaids were Miss Helen Grant, Hamilton; Miss Beatrice Engelhardt, Merrick, L. I.; Miss Vivian Schiro, Gardner; Miss Linda Streeter, Herkimer, sister of the bridegroom. All wore light blue gowns and headpieces, styled like the matron of honor's and carried cascade bouquets of pink garnet roses with blue delphinum accent.
The mother of the bride wore light gray lace over pink taffeta, with matching accessories, while the mother of the bridegroom chose a navy and white sheath with white accessories. Both had corsages of laventer pink orchids.
Carl Streeter, Ilion, was his brother’s best man, while ushers were John Allasio, White Plains; Frank L. Battisti, brother of the bride; Francis Rodgers, LeRoy; Philip Streeter, Herkimer, brother of the bridegroom.
After a wedding breakfast and reception at the Ithaca Hotel, the couple left for a trip to New England. The bride wore a powder blue linen suit with white accessories and her bridal orchid.
The bride, a 1950 graduate of Ithaca High School and 1955 graduate of Albany State College for Teachers, for the past year has taught at Ithaca High School. He is a 1949 Herkimer High graduate and has received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Albany State. He will teach at Liverpool during the coming school year.
Showers for the bride were given by Mrs. Harlan Bliss and Mrs. Frank Battisti; Mrs. Carl Streeter and Miss Linda Streeter; Mrs. Robert Kellogg; Horizon Club; a dinner at O’Brien’s by the Ithaca High Commercial Department; rehersal dinner at the Ithaca Hotel.

Miss Linda Mary Streeter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orason W. Streeter, 337 Harter St., today became the bride of Ralph R. Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Carter, Willow Ave., at 11 a. m. in a Nuptial Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul Amos, assistant pastor, with altar boys, Lawrence and Thomas Shaffer.
The church was decorated with white gladioli and pompons. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Catherine Hadcock, soloist, accompanied by Miss Ann Brennan, organist, rendered traditional wedding music. The Choral Mass was also sung.
The bride was attended by her cousin, Mrs. Nancy Prior, Sauquoit. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Margaret Streeter, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Gail Brown of Endicott, college classmate. Miss Deborah Streeter, Ilion, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Serving as best man was Philip Streeter, brother of the bride. Ushers were Eugene Carter, brother of the bridegroom and Carlton Vielhauer, Jr.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length, princess styled gown of imported Italian silk, fashioned with a baton neckline accented with Alencon lace and seed pearls. The long pointed sleeves, waistline and front panel of the skirt were also appliqued with Alencon lace. Her bouffant skirt ended in a chapel train. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was attached to queen s crown of Alencon lace. The matron of honor wore a full-length gown of yellow chiffon oyer taffeta fashioned with a shirred bodice and short sleeves. She wore a snail matching headpiece with a face veil. The bridesmaids were gowned in pale blue of the same description. They also wore matching headpieces. The flower girl’s dress was identical to that of the matron of honor. She wore a spray of yellow baby’s breath in her hair.
The bride’s bouquet was a cascade of carnations and stephanotis centered with a white orchid The attendants carried cascade bouquets of white carnations with tufts of lacelon to match their dresses.
The bride’s mother chose a sheath dress of delphinium blue silk organza and lace. She wore white accessories and a white orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a navy blue embroidered linen sheath. She also chose white accessories and a white orchid corsage.
Both the bride and bridegroom are 1957 graduates of Herkimer Central High School. She attended State University of N. Y. at Buffalo and is employed by the Oneida National Bank A Trust Co. Utica. The bridegroom is employed in the Finance Department, Grifflas Air Force Base.
An afternoon reception at the Palmer House followed the ceremony. After a trip through the New England States, the couple will reside at 6 Auburn Ave. Utica.
Pre-nuptial events were given by Mrs. Paul Earl, Sr., Ilion; Mrs. Garfield Herring, Vernon, aunts of the bride, Mrs. Naney Prior, Mrs. Carl, Philip and Francis Streeter, and also by Mrs. Claude Carter, Mrs. William Murray and Mrs. Eugene Carter. Co-workers entertained the bride at a dinner party at Dibble’s Inn, Vernon.

Miss Margaret Finehout, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Finehout, of 314 Foils St., became the bride of Philip Streeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orason Streeter, 337 Harter St, last Saturday in St. Francis de Sales Church.
The double ring ceremony and Nuptial Mass were conducted by the Rev. John R. Kehoe, pastor, before an altar decorated with pink and white gladioli. Miss Anna Brennan, organist, accompanied vocalist Miss Mary Falk.
Attendants were Miss Elaine Pelow and Carl Streeter, while ushers were Francis Streeter and Robert Zappia.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a fitted gown of imported Chantilly lace over white satin, styled with a scalloped neckline, long fitted sleeves ending in bridal points, and a bouffant skirt trimmed with a large back bow. Her fingertip veil was caught to a pillbox hat of lace and tiny seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white baby mums attached to a prayer book.
Miss Pelow wore a street length pale green silk gown, fashioned with a fitted bodice and full skirt, and wore a matching headdress, She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Following a reception at the American Legion Home, the couple left for a wedding trip to Florida. They will reside at 446 N. Bellinger St., when they return.
The bride is a graduate of Herkimer High School and is employed by the New York Telephone Co. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Herkimer High School and is employed at Swatling-Peattie, Inc.
Pre-nuptial events were given by the bride's co-workers, and by Miss Linda Streeter, Mrs. Francis Streeter, Mrs. Streeter, Misses Marilyn Jean Shearer, Miss Elaine Pelow, Miss Emma Dibble and Mrs. David Miller.

The Memorial Baptist Church was the setting at 2 o'clock this afternoon for the wedding of Miss Janette Geddes Thomson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Thomson of 15 South Ave., and Gordon Arthur Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gilbert of 9 1/2 Winter St.
The Rev. James H. Eldridge officiated at the double ring service, and David Fairbanks, organist, played traditional music.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white lace and net over satin designed with a lace bodice, illusion neckline, lace standup collar, long pointed lace sleeves and a bouffant net skirt with lace panels in front and back. A small crown of sequins and seed pearls held her fingertip veil. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace from Scotland which belonged to her grandmother. She carried a bouquet of white roses centered with a corsage of pink roses.
Her maid of honor, Miss Betty O'Brien wore a gown fashioned of two shades of blue chiffon, and matching gloves. The bridesmaids, the Misses Jessie Cruickshank and Linda Miller, wore pink gowns. Each attendant carried a bouquet of spring flowers to match her dress.
James Gilbert, Virgil, was best man for the bridegroom, and the ushers were Calvin Gilbert, Virgil, and James Thomson, Utica.
The bride's mother wore a blue silk dress, a navy blue duster and a corsage of pink roses The bridegroom's mother chose a gray suit and also had a pmk rose corsage.
The wedding was followed by a reception in the church parlors and a four-tiered wedding cake was featured. Miss Jean Cruickshank, Miss Shirley Syvertsen and Miss Kay Matson served.
After a wedding trip to Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert will be at home at 12 Squires St. on May 5. For her going-away outfit the bride selected a blue suit and black accessories.
A graduate of Cortland Hich School, the bride is employed by the Crescent Corset Company. Mr. Gilbert attended Cortland High School and is employed by the Brewer-Tichner Corporation.
As a bride-to-be, Mrs. Gilbert was honored at showers given by the Misses Betty O'Brien and Jessie Cruickshank, Miss Linda Miller, Mrs. Gilbert and the girls in the stockroom and shipping department.

Mrs. Madeline Gilbert. Mrs. Leony Avery, and Mrs. Mara McDermitt, all of Cortland, Mrs. Eleanor Green of Marathon, Mrs. Vivian Calhoun of Ludlowville. Mrs. Zelia Predmore of Ithaca, and Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds of California; six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the H. Patrick McEvoy and Bush Funeral Home, 122 Tompkins St.. with the Rev. Loren G. House of the Preble Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in the Cortland Rural Cemetery.

SENECA FALLS - Maynard A. Predmore, 63, of Townline Rd., Fayette, died last evening in Seneca Falls Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the funeral home, 32 State St. The Rev. Kay E. Wolke, pastor of the Fayette Federated Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Catherine.
A native of Townsendville, Mr. Predmore was born Aug. 5, 1911, the son of Wardes and Elizabeth Wilcox Predmore. A mechanic, Mr. Predmore was last employed at Cayuga Lake State Park until his retirement in 1973.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zelia Gates Predmore of Trumansburg; three sons, Charles A. of Johnson City, William W. of Trumansburg, and James A. of California; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Mary) Poormon of Fayette, and Miss Nancy L. Predmore of Trumansburg; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Eleanore) VanGelder of Bath; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Robert K. Daugherty, 66, of 114 Pleasant Valley Rd., Groton died early Sunday morning at his home.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908 in Cortland, the son of James and Margaret Getman Daugherty.
He was a former employee of the SCM Corporation and for many years was a cattle dealer in this area.
He is survived by his wife. Norma Teeter Daugherty of Groton: two sons. Jack and Richard Daugherty, both of Groton: nine grandchildren; a sister. Mrs. Russell Morey of Summerton. S.C.: two brothers; Arnold Avery of Auburn and Robert Avery of Waterloo: and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Booth Funeral Home in Groton at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Ronald S. Place, pastor of the Groton Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Groton Cemetery.

Arnold M. Avery, 69, of 177 Seymour Street, Auburn, died Friday, November 21. 1986, in the V.A. Medical Center, Canandaigua, New York.
Mr. Avery was born in Cortland, NY. and resided in Auburn all of his adult life. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Army. He is a retired 30 year employee of Alco.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia D. Avery of Auburn; one son, Thomas Avery of Waterloo; one step-son, Jonathan Chapman of Boston, Massachusetts, one brother, Robert Avery of Waterloo; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 25, 1986 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming, New York.
There will be no calling hours. The Brew Funeral Home, 48 South Street, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Morey were married May 19, 1935, by the Rev. Montag of Clyde with Helen Morey Wilsey and Clarence VCiviney as attendants.
The couple have 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One Hundred and fifty guests came to the party, some from New Hampshire, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

WATERLOO — Miss Joyce Marie Morey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell J. Morey, Old State Rd., Phelps RD 2, was married to Ronald Miller Swarthout, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Swarthout, Nine Foot Rd.. Phelps RD 2, at 2 p.m. last Saturday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Waterloo.
The Rev. Hubert S. Wood Jr., rector of the church, performed the double ring ceremony.
Altar decorations were baskets of white chrysanthemums and palms.
John King was at the organ and accompanied Ronald Cox, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a chapel-length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta. It was designed with a close-fitted bodice, featuring a scalloped neckline and long pointed sleeves at the wrist. The full bouffant hoop skirt with scallops at the sides fell into a ruffled train. Her fingertip veil of French illusion was attached to a crown trimmed with sequins and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations centered with a white orchid.
Miss Carol Morey of Phelps, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a ballerina-length gown of cherry red chiffon taffeta It was fashioned with a scoop neckline, fitted bodice with inserts of velvet ard short cap sleeves. The full bouffant skirt was accented with velvet inserts. Her headpiece was a matching cap of velvet leaves with a nosetip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white and red carnations.
Miss Sharon Avery and Miss Rita Avery, of Phelps, cousins of the bride, were bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid respectively. They were gowned identical in color and design with the maid of honor. They carried cascade bouquets of white carnations with varigated red and white carnations.
Carlton Swarthout, Seneca Falls, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Richard Morey, Phelps, brother of the bride, and Paul Smith of Clyde, were ushers. The bride's mother wore a gray lace over pink taffeta street-length dress with gray and pink accessories and a pink carnation corsage.
The bridegroom's mother wore a black lace and taffeta street-length dres with red and white accessories and a corsage of variegated red and white carnations.
After the wedding a reception for one hundred relatives and friends was held at Junius fire hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Swarthout left on a one-week wedding trip through the south. The bride's going-away outfit was. a light tan wool jersey dress with pink accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.
Upon their return the couple will make their home at 42 White Springs Rd., Geneva.
The bride and bridegroom are both graduates of Waterloo High School, class of 1957. The bride is employed in the main office at the Commercial Bldg., Newark. Mr. Swarthout is employed at Shuron Optical plant in Geneva.
Guests present for the wedding and reception were from Hammondsport, Cortland, Union Springs, Dundee, Penn Yan, Caledonia, Savannah, Clyde, Rochester, Lyons, Syracuse, Geneva, Waterloo and Seneca Falls.
Pre-nuptial events included a variety shower by the bride's attendants at the home of Mrs. James Avery in Phelps. The bride was entertained at a dinner in the Old World Inn, Newark.
The bridegroom was given a stag party at the Seneca Restaurant in Waterloo by the best amn and ushers.

Miss Avery is a graduate of Waterloo Central School, class of 1961.
Mr. Rumsey is also a graduate of Waterloo Central School, class of 1960. He ie employed as timekeeper at Greenwood Foods.

Waterloo - Constance Mary Avery, 91, formerly of 23 Locust St., Apt. A , died Tuesday (July 10, 2012) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, with family by her side.
Honoring Connie's wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterloo.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, 13165 or a charity of one's choice.
Connie was born September 19, 1920 in Pittston, Penn., the daughter of Joseph A. and Jennie Matthews Zawacki. She was a graduate of Pittston High School. She then served in the U.S. Army in 1944. Returning from the service she and her husband moved to the Finger Lakes. She then graduated from Freeman Business School in Geneva. She was employed at Seneca Army Depot for a number of years. Later she retired as Senior Account Clerk from the NYS Department of Transportation in 1974. She was a member of CSEA/AFSCME Retiree Program. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Theresa #806.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Janie) Avery, Sr. of Bradenton, Fla. and Leo (Arlene) Avery of Lake Charles, La.; daughter-in-law, Elaine Avery of Waterloo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Bea) Zawacki of Dupont, Penn.; sister, Theresa Oliver, of Pittston, Penn.; several niece and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband, Robert O. Avery, April 6, 1990; a son, Jerome "Jerry" P.
