 - Death announcement (Fulton County Republican, Johnstown, NY, 1908 ----)
  GAROGA
Lawrence Weaver, aged 78, whose death occured last Saturday, the 21st, was one of the oldest residents in this vicinity. He served in the Civil war, and was a member of Co. E., 13th reg., also Co. K. 8th Reg. N. Y. Vol., heavy artillery, and was pensioned by the government. He had been gradually failing in health for teh past year, or more, in which his trips to this place have been much more infrequent than formerly, and uopn each occasion of which, his increased feebleness became more apparents to his friends here. The news of his death, however, came somewhat as a surprise as it was only a few days since he drove to this place and it was not thought he was so near the end. The little home of Mr. and Mrs. Weaver situated in a romantic spot on Royalk hill, was a frequent resort for pleasure seekers, before whose cameras the aged couple often posed. Mr. Weaver was highly esteemed and will be missed by many in this community. He leaves a widow and two children and two grandchildren, also four brothers and one sister.
