Edna M. Wager, 86, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31st at home. Edna was a homemaker, and resided most of her life in the Watertown area until relocating to Syracuse. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Wager in 1996, sisters, Rosalind Patchen and Beatrice Davis, and brother, Kenneth Stevens.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Steven Wager of Syracuse; Cheryl (Gary) Stout of Baldwinsville; grandson, Ryan Rogers of Buffalo, NY; her sisters, Norma Seymour of Depauville, NY; Alice Lont; brothers, Lyle Stevens; Raymond Stevens; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday February 6, 2014 from 4 to 7pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Route 31 Baldwinsville. Spring burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edna’s memory may be made to the Rescue Mission PO Box 11122 Syracuse, NY 13218-9903.

Howard J. Kaufman, son-in-law of Mrs. Carleton Comins, 655 Emerson St., retired April 30 following 31 years service with the U.S. government.
Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman with children, Kristine, 15, and Thomas, 13, will live in Watertown. Mrs. Kaufman is the former Louise Wager and a native of Watertown.
Mr. Kaufman's federal employment began in 1940. At the time of retirement he was chief of the manpower and procedures branch at the Defense Contract Administration Services Region. Los Angeles, an element of the Defense Supply Agency. For 12 years, 1942-1954 Mr. Kaufman was a member of the Army and held the rank of major at the time of discharge.

Arthur C. Kincade, 88, of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2008, at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua after a brief illness. Mr. Kincade was born in Buffalo and raised in Syracuse. He went to Purdue University, where he graduated from the School of Pharmacy. In 1942, Mr. Kincade joined the U.S. Navy and became a naval aviator until he ended his commission in 1963. He married Leona Updike in 1947, and they had four children. Mrs. Kincade passed away in 1994 in Canandaigua. He is survived by his sons, Craig "Chet" Kincade of Stuarts Draft, VA, Gary Kincade of Wayland, NY, and Steven Kincade of Charlotte, NC; and grandson, Adam Kincade of Stuarts Draft, VA. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 27, at Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse. Please use the cemetery entrance at 940 Comstock Ave., and you will be directed from there. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., Canandaigua.

FORT PLAIN - Robert Cook, 37, R.D. 1, died early Tuesday morning while at work with the Jake Stegwh Construction Co. of Little Falls, near Oneida.
Born in Little Falls he was an area residentfor the past 15 years. Mr. Cook was employed as a construction worker.
Survivors inclued his wife, Jane Weiss Cook; three sons, Robert, Edward and Albert Cook; a daughter, Sara Cook; his mother, Mrs. Mae Getman Cook, Fort Plain and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Cora Getman, Fort Plain.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Swartz funeral home with Rev. Frederick Thome, pastor of the Little Falls Baptist Church, officiating.
39 Burial will be in the Fort Plain cemetery.

Nov 8 Miss Shirley Jane Swartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charels Schwartz, Fort Plain, was united in marriage to Robert Getman Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cook, Fort Plain at the home of the bride's parents on Saturday, November 3, at 3 P.M. by the Rev. H. H. Mahl, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The double ring ceremony being used.
The ceremony was performed under a canopy of blue and pink in the living room of the home. During the ceremony, Mrs. Ray Leitt, Fonda, sister of the bride, song "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly" accompanied by Mrs. Bernard Swartz, sister-in-law of the bride.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father wore a white gown of marquisette with finger tip veil attached to tiara of seed pearls and carried a colonial bouquet of white ----. The Matrons of honor were Mr.s Willard Hayes and Mrs. Alton Saltsman, sisters of the bride. Mrs. Hayes wore a gown of pink net with matching veil and carried a Colonial bouquet of --- pompons. Mrs. Saltsman wore a blue gown with veil to match and carried a Colonial bouquet of pink pompons. Willard Hayes brother-in-law of the bride was the bridegrooms attendant, and Alton Saltsman, brother-in-law of the bride was usher. Mrs. Swartz and Mrs. Cook, mothers of the bride and bridegroom both wore gowns of air force blue with corsages of pink carnations.
Moth Mr. and Mrs. Cook atteded the Fort Plain High School. Mrs. Cook as been employed in the Beech-Nut Packing Company, Canajoharie, and the bridegroom ia on the farm with his father. They will make their home on the farm.
On Friday evening a shower will b eheld at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swartz for the newly-weds.
