- Obituary of Richard K. Getman
WATERTOWN – Richard K. Getman, 82, of Leray Street, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Samaritan Medical Center.
Richard was born on November 28, 1937 in West Carthage, NY, the son of the late Frank and Ethel (Sullivan) Getman. Richard graduated from West Carthage High School and went to serve in the United States Air Force. He later retired from the Air Force after 28 years as an Air to Ground Gunnery Official.
Richard married Ann Kibbe, they were married 37 years before her passing in 1999. On July 22, 2000, Richard married Sara Payne in Antwerp, NY.
Richard loved woodworking, gardening and telling stories.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Getman, Watertown, NY; a son, Scott Getman, Cookeville, TN; a daughter, Shari Culbertson, Felts Mills, NY.
He is predeceased by a daughter Sandra E. Getman who died in 2018; two brothers, Donald and Terry Getman; a grandson, Jordan Culbertson.

Getman is a 1966 graduate of Carthage Central School, State Agricultural and Technical College at Morrisville and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is director of Food Service at little Falls Hospital.

Mr. Cain is a 1962 graduste of Augustinian accademy. He recently completed two years active duty in the Army, bieng stationed in Fulda, Germany. A summer wedding is planned.

COPENHAGEN — Marcia I. Clemons, 84, NYS Rte 12, died Saturday morning at her home.
Born in Carthage on April 16, 1926, the daughter of John and Cora Willard Keenan, she graduated from Carthage High School with the Class of 1944. She married E. Stanley Clemons at the Copenhagen Methodist Church on July 26, 1946. Mr. Clemons died at home on October, 21, 2007 after 61 years of marriage.
She was active in many organizations, including the Copenhagen American Legion Post #723 Auxiliary, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Lowville, the Denmark and Champion Granges, the Senior Citizens Club in Copenhagen and the United Methodist Church in Champion. She was employed by the Lewis County Board of Elections for many years.
Mrs. Clemons is survived by her children, John E. Clemons, Minoa, Janet E. DiStefano, Watertown, Jolie Wood-Thomas, Chestertown, NY and Jeffery L. Clemons, Copenhagen. She has 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley, her brothers, Elmer "Ozzie" Keenan and James Michael Keenan, her sister, Doris Powers and one grandson, James P. DiStefano III.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 AM at the Second United Methodist Church in Champion, with the Rev. Linda J. Harris, Pastor, officiating and the Rev. Tracy Cook and the Rev. Joyce Woodcock co-officiating. There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Champion Grange Hall immediately following the service.

She will carry a bouquet of Fuji palms, and baby's breath centered with white roses.
Miss Jolanda Clemons will be her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids will be Mrs. Frederick Norfolk, Mrs. Anthony DiStefano, Miss Sharon Storey, Calcium, and Miss Bernadette DiStefano, sister of the bridegroom.
John DiStefano will be his brother's best man. Ushers will be Frederick Norfolk, Anthony DiStefano, brother of the bridegroom; John Murabiand, John Clemons, Syracuse, brother of the bride.
Following a reception at the North Side Improvement League , the couple will leave for Virginia Beach, Va. For traveling the bride will wear a blue wool pantsuit with midi-vest.
The bride, a 1967 graduate of Copenhagen Central School, was graduated from Jefferson Community College in 1969 and from Buffalo State University College in January with a bachelor of science degree. She teaches distributive education at the Jefferson-Vocational Technical Center.
Mr. DiStefano, a 1967 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School, attended Jefferson Community College and is employed with the Prudential Insurance Co. He is a member of the Army Reserve.
