Miss Rose Phyllis Zucker and David A. Schempp were united in marriage on Feb. 6 at Temple Emanuel Synagogue in Kingston with the Rabbi Jonathan Eichhorn officiating. Miss Zucker is the daughter of Mrs. Frank R. Baker Jr. of Roscoe, Ill., and the late Morton D. Zucker. Mr. Schempp is the son of Mrs. Arthur Schempp of Plum Street and the late Mr. Schempp.
The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Mr. Baker, and wore a peau de sole gown fashioned with a high neckline and long, full sleeves cuffed at the wrists. Appliques of alencon lace trimmed with seed pearls accented the neckline, sleeves, empire bodice and full, A-line skirt of the gown. The chapel train was accented with matching appliques. She wore headpiece of lace petals edged with seed pearls which held a three-tier chapel-length illusion veil and she carried a cascade of gardenias, stephanotis and red and white roses.
Attendants for the bride included Miss Lauren Gertner, maid of honor; Miss Joyce Klein and Miss Jane Klein, junior bridesmaids. The maid of honor was attired in a burgundy velvet skirt with a pink crepe bodice. She carried a colonial nosegay of pink and white miniature carnations and baby's breath. The junior bridesmaids wore similar gowns with blue skirts and white bodices and carried identical nosegays.
Jay Heigle served as the best man, and the guests were ushered to their seats by Stephen Schempp and Frederick Schempp, brothers of the bridegroom. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Capri 400 Restaurant in Port Ewen. The couple then left on a wedding trip to the Bahamas. Mr. and Mrs. Schempp will reside at Apt. 9, Wemple Building in Netherlands Village.
Mrs. Schempp is a recent graduate of the State University College at Potsdam where she majored in French. Her Junior year was spent at Tours, France. She was a member of Zeta Gamma Sigma Sorority.
Mr. Schempp was graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He is credit sales manager of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

BROWNVILLE — Pearly H. LaLone, 67, of 217 Main St., died 2:45 this morning in Mercy Hospital, Watertown, where he was admitted Monday. In failing health since January, 1966, he was seriously ill one month.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Hart Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Adams Center.
Friends may call at The funeral home 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Fern B. Fetter1ey LaLone; nine children, Clifton, Pillar Point; Loren, Adams Center, R.D. 1; Byron, Adams, R.D. 2; Fred, Watertown, R.D. 2; Mrs. James (June) Holder, Brownville; Mrs. Leon (Dora) Herron, Belleville; Pearly S., 214 E. Main St., Brownville; Mrs. Carl (Emma) Howell, Syracuse; Mrs. William (Sally) Lane, Adams Center; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Simmons, Carthage, Mrs. Julia Snyder, Hamburg; a step-brother, Arnold Fetterley, Carthage; 40 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. LaLone was born Sept. 1, 1904 in North Wilna, one of 13 children of Joseph and Marion Rivers LaLone. He was educated in the Town of Pinckney. On Aug. 16, 1924, he married Fern Fetterley, when both were living in Watertown. Rev. Albert R. Lambert, then pastor of the First Methodist Church , Watertown, officiated.
They operated farms in the Theresa section after their marriage. Mr. LaLone worked for a time for the late Anthony Marzano in construction. Until November, 1970, when they came here Mr. and Mrs. LaLone had lived five years near Adams.

Mrs. Myrtle Cox, 7759 Black River Road, has been appointed grand representative of the Grand Chapter of Saskatchewan near the Grand Chapter of New York for the term from this past Feb. 2 through Dec. 31, 1977.
Mrs. Cox is a past matron of Bethany Chapter 343, OES, at Black River. She has been a member, for 41 years and has served as chaplain for the past 18 years.
Mrs. Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Getman, 850 Morrison St., Watertown, is the wife of John P. Cox, who recently retired after 43 years of service from the General Crushed Stone Co.
Mr. and Mrs. John P. Cox are the parents of two children, John D., Black River Road, and Mrs. (John) Carolyn Shields, Quartz Hill, Calif.

PHILADELPHIA — A spring graveside service for Bruce L. Getman, 94, Irish Avenue, will be held in Dexter Cemetery. Mr. Getman died Saturday afternoon at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where he had been a resident for a week. There will be no calling hours. The ar-rangements are with Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Mr. Getman worked at the former Taggart Brothers Paper Mill in Watertown and owned and operated Getman's Diner and Store, Brownville, with his wife, Pearl, for many years. Mr. Getman was a past member of Brownville American Legion, where he served as vice commander, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5344 in Adams and the Papermakers Union. He enjoyed reading non-fiction and history literature of all kinds. Born May 20, 1914, in Watertown, son of Ross and Anna Belcher Getman, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1933 and served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a radio mechanic serving in Algeria, Morocco, Naples, Rome and Sicily, and received the American Order French Croix DeGuerre. He was discharged as a sergeant. He married Pearl Squires Combs on Aug. 20, 1950, in Brownville. She died Aug. 4, 2001. Surviving are a brother and his wife, Robert and Mary, Depauville, two sisters, Rene Getman, Brownville, and Marilyn Getman, Watertown; a stepdaughter and her husband, Shirley and Noah Prior, Watertown; a stepson and his wife, Edwin and Sue Ann White, Galloway, N.J.; many grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Earl and Lloyd, two sisters, Myrtle Cox and Marion Monica, a granddaughter-in-law and great-granddaughter, died before him.

Shirley passed away Monday morning at Samaritan Keep Home after many years of struggling with Parkinson's , with her family at her side.
Shirley was born July 12, 1934 in Belleville the daughter of Walter and Pearl Squires Getman Stahl. She was a graduate of Lyme Central School in 1954. She married Noah A. Prior on July 31, 1954 in Brownville.
She worked at various restaurants, Puritan Clothing Store in Watertown, Brownville Paper Co. She also worked at Price Chopper in Guilderland, N.Y. She was an instructor for Diet Workshop and owned and operated with her husband Springledge Dairy Farm, Evans Mills. She and her husband moved to Guilderland in 1987 and returned to the Watertown area in 2000.
Shirley was a member of Brownville American Legion Auxiliary, former member of Pamelia Grange, and St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society of Evans Mills. She enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting jewelry( especially rings) and her clock collection.
She is survived by her husband Noah, five sons and their spouses; Rick and Sue Prior of Mohawk, N.Y., Noah Jr. and Terry Prior of Theresa, Bruce and SueAnn Prior of Watertown, Jeffrey and Christine Prior of Johnstown, Todd and Debra Prior of Harpersfield; two daughters and their spouses; Rebecca and Randy Bushaw of Antwerp, and Natalie and Robert Powell of Middleburg. She has a brother and his wife Edwin and Suzanne Wagner-White-Galloway of N.J., 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather Bruce Getman, a daughter-in-law Tammy Greenwood Prior and a granddaughter Mary Angelica Prior and a grandson Micah O. Prior.
Funeral services will be Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Fr. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.

Marriage Notes for Barbara Jeanne Getman and David Earl Compeau

Miss Barbara Jeanne Getman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Getman, Glen Park, was married to David Compeau, son of Mr and Mrs. Earl A. Compeau, Brownville, this afternoon in the Brownville Methodist church, with Rev. John Jacobs, pastor, officiating.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of handclipped Chantilly lace and silk organza styled with a fitted bodice with a round neckline, long sleeves, and a sheath skirt accented with a detachable train of silk organza. A floral head piece held her bouffant veil of silk illusion. She carried two white orchids on her white Bible.
Miss Linda Compeau sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid, and Gary Compeau, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. William Szturma, Bridgeport, Conn., was usher.
After a trip through the New England states the couple will live in Glen Park. For traveling the bride will wear a white sheath dress with white accessories and an orchid corsage.
Mrs. Compeau is a 1964 graduate of General Brown Central school and is employed at the Acme Market, Seaway shopping center. Mr. Compeau is a 1960 graduate of General Brown Central and is employed by Eveleigh Motor Sales. He served in the navy four years and is a member of the Glen Park fire department.

Marion Agnes Monica, 59, of North Manlius Rd., Kirkville, died Tuesday, November 30.
She was a native of Watertown and had lived in Kirkville for 26 years.
Mrs. Monica was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Watertown.
Surviving are her husband, William Monica; a son, William R. Monica of Chittenango; a daughter, Marion Donna Monica of Kirkville; a sister, Myrtle Cox of Watertown; three brothers, Bruce Getman of Brownville, Lloyd Getman of Chaumont and Robert Getman of Depauville; and a grandson, William.
Services were Friday at the Russell H. Schepp Funeral Home, Minoa. The Rev. James LaGro officiated. Burial was in Pine Plains Cemetery, North Manlius.
