Miss Maryland Vrooman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Vrooman, 8 Water street, was united in marriage to Alan M. Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker, Albany, yesterday afternoon at 5. The ceremony was performed at St. Patrick's rectory, by the Rev. Edward Sheedy.
Maid of honor was Miss Luella Vrooman, sister of the bride, who was attired in a pale, yellow chiffon gown, and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. James M Walker, brother of the groom, was best man.
The bride's gown consisted of a white net skirt and satin brocaded top with a sweetheart neckline. She also had a finger tip veil with a crown of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white roses.
The bride's mother was attired in black crepe with rose colored accessories, and wore a corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a grey wool dress with black accessories and a corsage.
A reception was held at the Club Delmar immediately after the ceremony. Sixty relatives and friends were served a chicken dinner. Out-of-town guests were from Albany, Schenectady. Utica, Elmira, Saratoga and Fort Plan.
Following the reception the newlyweds left on their wedding trip, which will include visits to New York City and Providence, R. I.
Mrs. Walker's going-away outfit consisted of a gold woolen dress and a black topper, with gold and black accessories.
The bride was a recent guest of honor at several pre-nuptial affairs in which she received many gifts.
A graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1943, the bride is now employed in the office of Leon F. Swears, Inc. Her husband is a graduate of Albany High School, class of 1941, and is now employed with the George Randall Construction Co.
The latter is also a veteran of World War II, having served three and a half yean with the Marine Corps. Two of these years were spent in the South Pacific area, where he was a participant in several major battle engagements.
After returning from their wedding trip, Mr. and Mra. Walker will reside in a newly furnished apartment at 902 West street, this city.

Miss Linda Gail Oaksford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Roger Oaksford of 442 North Perry Street, was united in marriage to Thomas R. Kumpan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kumpan of 103 Prospect Street, at 5:30 Saturday afternoon at St Patrick's Church. Rev. James D. O'Neill, assistant pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
The altar of the church was decorated with baskets of gladioli and pompons. Organist Gene Zilka of Gloversville played traditional wedding music and "Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full gown of white velvet trimmed with white satin ruffles at the high Cameo neckline and the cuff of the long sleeves. The empire waistline was also accented with a white satin ribbon and the chapel length train of white velvet was lined with white satin. Her chapel length veil of silk illusion was attached to a triple white Dior bow and she carried a white orchid on a prayer book.
Miss Marilyn Oaksford, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a full length gown of beige crepe and forest green velvet. The crepe bodice was accented with ruffles at the neckline and down the front of the bodice. The green velvet skirt was gathered at the waist and covered with a black sash. She wore a monogramed broach at the neckline to complete the old fashioned design of the gown.
Her headpiece consisted of green velvet ribbons that streamed down the back and she carried a cascade bouquet of yellow miniature carnations with a center of yellow and bronze sweetheart roses, old gold wheat, grapes, and gold tapestry ribbon streamers.
Miss Mary Ann Pierce of Gloversville and Mrs. Sharon A. Hill of Fort Plain RD 1, were attendants. They wore gowns designed the same as the gown of the maid of honor only with dark green sashes. Their headpieces and bouquets were similar as those of the maid of honor.
Timothy Kumpan, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Fred R. Oaksford, brother of the bride, and Stanley Banovic were ushers.
The mother of the bride wore a gold lame coat dress with brown and gold accessories and a white cymbidium orchid corsage.
The mother of the bridegroom wore a romance blue coat-dress ensemble of karate with blue and beige accessories and a white cymbidium orchid corsage.
A reception for 175 was conducted after the ceremony at Pine Tree Rifle Club with music provided by Ralph Gardner and his orchestra.
Guests attended from Johnstown, Gloversville, Fort Plain, Minaville, Frankfort, Ballston Spa, Schenectady, Canandaigua, Caroga Lake, Amsterdam, Fonda, Syracuse, Brooklyn, Canajoharie and Rome.
For the wedding trip through northern New York and Canada, the bride wore a peacock blue and green ensemble with black patent leather accessories and a white orchid corsage.
The wedding attendants were presented gifts at an after-rehearsal party Friday night at the home of the bride's parents.
The gowns for the bridal party were designed and made by the sister of the bride, Miss Marilyn Oaksford, and all were styled in die old fashioned mode.
The bride is a 1966 graduate of Johnstown High School and is employed as a secretary at the Johnstown Branch of the First Trust Company of Albany.
Kumpan is a 1966 graduate of Johnstown High School and is employed by Fleming-Joffe Johnstown Corporation.

Bruce S. Vrooman, 72, of N. Melcher St., Johnstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Ellis Hospital. Born June 21, 1937 in Johnstown, he was the son of Willard and Arbutus Waterman Vrooman. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1955, then SUNY Oswego in 1964. He was a teacher for Broadalbin and then Broadalbin-Perth school system, retiring in 1995. He was of Catholic Faith. He loved his homes in Florida and Johnstown. He was a former member of the FulMont Road Runners Club. He is survived by: his wife, Jacqueline Karl Vrooman of Johnstown, whom he married Dec. 24,1993; one daughter, Lisa Weiderman of Broadalbin; one son, Lawrence W. (Debra) Vrooman of Johnstown; four stepsons, Raymond Jarabek of Speculator, Randall (Kathi) Jarabek of Ocoee, FL, Jeffrey (Clara) Jarabek of Allen, TX., Jay (Patti) Jarabek of Johnstown; two sisters, Maryland Warner of Johnstown and Louella Morley of Caroga Lake; eight grandchildren, Brynn and Brent Weiderman, Jasmine and Cameron Vrooman, Elizabeth, Joshua, Danny, and David Jarabek; one great-grandson, Dillon Stevens. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church Johnstown with Rev. James Fitzmaurice as celebrant. Friends and Family may call Thursday 5-7 p.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Johnstown. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the United Way of Fulton County.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleto J. Brunetto and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Vrooman, all of Johnstown.
Mrs. Maurice Saheet, organist, played and sang traditional nuptial music. The church was decorated with palms and vases of gladioli.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by her mother. The princess gown of skinner satin was styled with a front panel trimmed with sequins and seed pearls; the full skirt formed a cathedral train.
Mrs. Brian Martenson was matron of honor. She wore an orchid embroidered gown of silk organza and carried a cascade of orchid pompons and white roses.
Bridesmaids were Miss Carole Scheemann and Miss Kathleen Pemrick. The ensembles were Identical with the honor attendant's and they carried cascades of orchid pompons with red roses.
Miss Rebecca Califano, cousin of the bride, was miniature bride.
The best man was Gary Cerrone. Ushers were Anthony Salamack and Robert Hauser.
A reception for 300 guests was held at the church's social center after the wedding. The bride's mother wore a dress of imported mink-colored Chantilly lace over pink satin. The mother of the bridegroom wore imported gray and white silk. Each had black accessories and an orchid corsage.
Now on a trip through New England and Canada, the newlyweds will reside at 15 North Melcher street. Johnstown.
Both are graduates of Johnstown high school.
The bride attended Plattsburg State Teachers Collerge and is employed as an accountin g clerk by the General Telephone Co, of Upstate New York, Inc.

Miss Carolyn Jean Beck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton W. Beck, Ephratah, was united in marriage in this city Saturday afternoon at 2 to Edwin Walter Goody, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin G. Goody, of Ephratah.
The double-ring ceremony was performed in the First Reformed Church by the Rev. Leonard Braam.
The chancel was decorated with palms and white gladioli. While the guests assembled and during the ceremony appropriate wedding music was played by organist Joseph Walsh. Mrs. Phillis Burke sang "Oh, Promise Me" and during the ceremony "The Lord's Prayer.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white nylon tulle with a fitted scalloped lace bodice and long pointed lace sleeves The bouffant skirt of tulle over satin with inserts of handclipped chantllly lace in front and back formed a chapel sweep, Her hand-rolled fingertip veil of silk illusion was affixed to a queens' crown trimmed with orange blossoms and seaquence. She carried a white orchid on a prayer book with baby's breath attached to the white satin streamers.
Mrs. Nita Bell, cousin of the bride, was matron of hohor. She wore a yellow gown of nylon net that had double layers of nylon tulle with lace panels and a bouffant skirt. She wore mits and a crown to match.
Bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Goody, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Bernice Christman, cousin of the bride. They wore identical gowns of nile and pink respectively, styled of nylon net over taffeta with lace bodice forming portrait necklines. They wore queen's crowns to match and white wrist length gloves.
The flower girl, Miss Bonnie Heroth, cousin of the bride, wore a white gown of nylon net with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, short sleves and bouffant skirt with a white bonnet to match.
The maid of honor, bridesmades, and flower girl carried colonial bouquets of mixed flowers with matching streamers.
Donald Wiltey, uncle of the bridegroom, was best man and Joseph Mead and Robert Edwards friends of the groom were ushers. Larry Preston, cousin of the bride was ring bearer and carried the rings on a pillow.
The bride's motherwore a navy blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue dress with navy blue accessories and a corsage of red roses.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held for 200 at Ephratah in the firemen's hall. The couple cut a four tier wedding cake. Guests were present from New Jersey, North Carolina, Johnstown, Gloversville, Meco, Mayfield, St. Johnsville, Ephratah, Rockwood, Amsterdam and Boston.
For going away the bride choose a light blue linen suit with white accessories. She wore a white orchid corsage.
After a week's honeymoon in Maine the couple will reside in Ephratah.
The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1952, and is employed by the General Telephone Company of Upstate New York Inc.

The attendants chose gowns and headpieces of matching design. The matron of honor was in lilac, with pink accessories, and carried a colonial bouquet of blue, pink and lilac roses and daisies. and roses.
The mother of the bride wore a steel-gray dress with Navy blue accessories. The mother of the bridegroom chose a blue dress with white trim and Navy and white accessories. Both had corsages of red roses.
A reception followed in the church parlors, after which the couple left on a tour of the state. They will reside in Herkimer.
