ILION - Mrs. Bertha Helmer Fink, 69, 21 Pleasant Ave., died yesterday in a Utica hospital.
She was born in Cooperstown. She was married to John Fink in Utica in 1917.
She leaves her husband, three sons, John Fink, Chadwics: Howard Fink, Frankfort, and Raymond Fink, Clio, Mich.: six daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Evans, Mrs. Florence Crewell and Mrs. John Regina Evans, all of Mohawk; Mrs. Wallace (Pearl) Kimball, Tonwanda, Pa.: Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Kimball, Erin and Mrs. Alice Fink, Ilion.
Also three sisters, Mrs. Charles Clark and Mrs. Nelson Mercer, both of Albany and Mrs. Jack Oldick, Richfield Springs; Six brothers, Robert Helmer, Williamsport, Pa., Edward Helmer, Chittenango; Clifford Helmer, New Jersey; Gordon Helmer, Connecticut; Harry Helmer, Sharon Springs; and Leon Helmer, Ilion.
The Funeral will be at 2 Thursday from the Murphy Funeral Home, Mohawk. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today and tomorrow.

ILION—Miss Alice Marie Fink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fink, 21 Pleasant Ave., today became the bride of Leo Griffin, son of Mrs. May Griffin, Richfield Springs.
The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Roland Osgood, minister, in the Methodist Church.
Miss Nancy Clements, Herkimer, was maid of honor and Roy Fink, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Louis Clemens and Ray Fink, brother of the bride.
The bride wore a white lace dress of ballerina length and a headdress of white roses. Her bouquet was also of white roses.
The maid of honor was dressed in yellow net with hat to match and she carried a Spring bouquet.
Following a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, the couple left far a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada. Upon their return they will live at 21 Pleasant Ave.
The bride attended Ilion Schools and is employed at Derby Sportswear Inc., Herkimer. The bridegroom is employed by Herkimer Tools and Model Works, Inc.
Mrs. Dema Fink, sister-in-law and Miss Nancy Clemens entertained at prenuptial showers in honor of the bride.

Mrs. Florence Helmer, wife of Charles Faulkner, of White Plains, died at a hospital at Salisbury Center on Wednesday, October 11th, following an illness of five years.
Mrs. Faulkner was born in Utica on October 26, 1907, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Helmer. She was a former nurse at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, and married Mr. Faulkner in that city in 1927.
She is survived by her parents who now reside in Mohawk, her husband, a daughter Nancy; four sisters, Mrs. John Frink of South Edmeston, Mrs. Nelson Mercer and Mrs. George Clark of Albany, and Mrs. Harold Oldish of Herkimer; six brothers, Edward Helmer of Syracuse, Clifford and Leon Helmer of Newark. N. J., Robert Helmer of Richfield Springs, and Harry and Gordon Helmer of Mohawk; and several nieces and nephews.

Old Forge - Mrs. Charles Faulkner, 30, Old Forge, died in Pine Crest Sanitarium, Salisbury Center, Oct. 11, 1939, after an illness of five years.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Helmer, Frankfort. Mr. and Mrs. Faulkner have lived here four years.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Nancy, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. George Beckingham, this community; her parents, and several brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be conducted from the Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home at White Plains today. Burial will be in White Plains.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Edna A. Oldick, 83, formerly of Bronner Manor Apartments, passed away on Wednesday evening, Oct. 9, 2002, in the home of her daughter, Diane Buell, of Route 51 in the town of Exeter.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1918, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Samuel and Lula Maulkins Helmer.
She was a lifelong area resident and was educated in Mohawk schools.
On Sept. 1, 1939, she married Harold J. Oldick in Mohawk, a loving and devoted union of 51 years until his passing on June 1, 1991.
For a short time, she worked as a nurse's aide for Clark Nursing Home in Richfield Springs.
Edna had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Episcopal life. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Springfield Center, a member of Arbutus Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Richfield Springs, and the Richfield Springs Senior Citizens.
In her leisure time, she was an avid card player.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Donald and Nancy Oldick of Warren, Charles and Dale Oldick of Little Falls, and Stephen and Linda Oldick of East Springfield; one daughter, Diane, and her husband, Kenneth Buell, of West Exeter; a brother-in-law, George Oldick of Albany; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Mercer, and a brother in law, Howard Oldick.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Springfield Center, with the Rev. Persus Williams officiating.
She will then be laid to rest in the Springfield Center Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends and relatives on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs.
Members of the Arbutus Chapter Order of Eastern Star are asked to gather at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. for ritualistic service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Arbutus Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Richfield Springs, Catskill Area Hospice or St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

The ceremony took place at Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, with the Rev. Henry Hogg officiating. The matron of honor was Mrs. Raymond Shaver and the best man, Raymond Shaver.
The bride wore white, crepe and carried a bouquet of white roses. Her attendant wore white silk and carried
white roses.
A reception followed at Hotel Martin, Utica. Following a wedding trip to Canada the couple will return to Herkimer to live. The bride is employed at the Hubbard Heel company and the bridegroom is a mechanic.
Prenuptial events were given by Hubbard Heel company employees and by Mrs. Samuiel Helmer.
