Olivette Osterwalder Fuess, 93, died Saturday, September 29, 2012. Olivette was born in Rock Island, Illinois on December 6, 1918 to Christian and Ruth Osterwalder. Olivette graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, TX. As a young woman, Olivette studied journalism and was a reporter for the Houston Chronicle. She married Carl Andrew Fuess, Jr. and lovingly raised their four children. Olivette adored spending time with her family and cherished friends. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and bird watching. She was especially proud as a Member of the Memphis Chapter of the Panel of American Women, a collective effort to combat racial and religious discrimination in the years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Olivette was a devoted member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was also a member of Madonna Circle and Les Passes. Olivette was a devoted, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Andrew Fuess, Jr.; by two children; Christine Henry, and Carl Fuess III. She is survived by two children, John Fuess (Monika Fuess), Peter Fuess (Aline Fuess); by eight grandchildren, Ashley Henry, Erica Allen, Shelly Ising, Ryan Fuess, Elliot Fuess, Healy Fuess, Matt Fuess, Carl Fuess; by her great-grandchildren, Brooke Allen, Caleb Allen, and Declan Fuess; by her sister, Margaret Anne Fuess of Houston, Texas. A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, October 1, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 2 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Road, Memphis, TN 38117; (901)682-6606, followed by interment in Memorial Park and reception at St. Louis Catholic Church. The family requests memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

LAKE KIOWA - Patricia Fuess, 85, of Lake Kiowa died Nov. 8, 2006, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville. No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
She was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Sherman to Patrick and Alma Smith. On Sept. 12, 1942, she married Burnett Fuess in Dallas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bernie Fuess of Lake Kiowa; sons, David Fuess of Livermore, Calif., Mark Fuess of Bedford, Kevin Fuess of Trophy Club, Paul Fuess of Rowlett and Vincent Fuess of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Sister Alma Thie of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Fuess; and daughter, Jan Fuess.

LAWRENCE JOSEPH FUESS, SR.was born in Dallas November 25, 1925 to Carl Andrew Fuess and Mary St. Clair Fuess. He was drafted into the army air force before being allowed to complete his senior year of high school at Dallas Jesuit. He served as a tailgun instructor for B-24s until 1945. He moved to Houston where he married Margaret Anne Hayden, his wife of 53 years. He graduated from The University of Houston. Larry went to work for Aetna Life Insurance company and later opened his own insurance agency and real estate company. He rejoined Aetna in 1983 and retired from there in 1990. In retirement Larry and his wife traveled extensively. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and working at West Houston Assistance Ministries which provides care and assistance with housing and utilities. He is predeceased in death by his son Mathew Gerard Fuess, brother, Carl Andrew Fuess, and his sister, Hazel Fuess Wing. He is survived by his wife Margaret Anne Hayden Fuess. His daughters Mary Ellen Fuess, Dr. Theresa Anne Fuess, Ruth Fuess Keegan and husband Peter, Patricia Fuess Nicknish. He is also survived by sons, Larry Fuess Jr. and wife Janyce and, Gregory Taylor Fuess. His grandchildren to whom he was devoted are Jose Ruiz, Lawrence Ruiz, Mary Ellen Fuess, Carl Andrew Fuess, Joe Nicknish, Chris Fuess, Rachel Fuess, Miranda Fuess, Trevor Keegan and Claire Keegan. He was also survived by his brother Burnet Fuess and his wife Pat, sister-in-law, Olivette Fuess, and numerous nieces and nephews There will be a private graveside service followed by a memorial mass for Larry, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Our Lady of Walsingham, 7809 Shadyville Lane in Spring Branch. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Houston Assistance Ministries, 10501 Meadowglen Lane, Houston, Texas 77042.
