  St. Mark's Lutheran Church was the scene of an attractive late Summer wedding Saturday evening at 8 when Miss Hilda E. Beck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Beck, 232 East Main street, became the bride of Lewis O. Theurer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Theurer, 105 East Fourth avenue. The wedding took place amid a bower of palm, and cut flowers arranged by Wallager, the florist.
  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Andrew L. Dillenbeck, D. D. pastor of St. Mark's Church. While the guests were assembling a prelude of organ music was rendered by Everett Spawn of New York city, former Johnstownian, who has gained national eminence in the musical world. As the wedding party entered the church, Mr Spawn played the wedding march from Lohengrin.
  The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, presented an attractive appearance in a gown of tea rose moire with sandals to match, an arm bouquet of Johanna Hill roses, and a small velvet hat with finger tip veil. Her attendant was Miss Ruth Stoller of this city. Miss Stoller was attired in blue moire with a small velvet hat to match and carried an arm bouquet of roses.
  The bridegroom and his attendant, William Wiers, wore brown suits with boutonnieres of roses.
  Mrs. Clinton Beck, mother of the bride, wore dark blue chiffon with accessories to match and a corsage of American Beauty roses. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Herman Theurer, wore an ashes of roses gown with white accessories and also chose American Beauty roses for her corsage.
  Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Saltsman Hotel, Ephratah, where a chicken supper was served. For the decorations at the hotel a general color scheme of green and yellow was carried out A large bridal cake was used for the table centerpiece.
  Later in the evening the newlyweds left for a honeymoon which will be spent in the mid-western states and Canada. Following a visit to the Great Lakes Exposition at Cleveland Ohil, they will motor to points of interest in Canadian cities. The bride's going away outfit consisted of a beige sharkskin suit with brown accessories and a sholder corsage of Tailsman roses. The bridesmaid was presented with a black Fall bag while Mr. Wierse recieved a meerschaum pipe from the bridegroom.
  Mrs. Theurer is a graduate of the Johnstown High school, Broadalbin Teachers' Training Class and Oneonta Normal school. At Oneonta she was a member of Clionian sorority. For the past three years she has been engaged in teaching in the town of Johnstown.
  The bridegroom is also a graduate of the Johnstown High school and attended Union college. While at Union he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He is connected with his father in the grocery business.
  Upon returning from their wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Theurer will take up their residence at 132 East Main street. Both have a legion of friends who will unite in extending congratulations.

 Miss Pamela J. Theurer, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Lewis Theurer of 141 Fifth Avenue, was united in marriage to Leif B. M. Josephson son of Professor and Mrs. Bertil Josephson of Stockholm, Sweden, at a ceremony at 4:30 Saturday afternoon at the Christ Lutheran Church, Johnstown. Rev. James Ziegenfus, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
  Baskets of white carnations, candelabra and large palms provided the background for the ceremony. Orville Batty of Gloversville played "Nocturne," theme from "Midsummer Night's Dream," "0 Perfect Love," "Ich Liebe Dich" and theme from "Romeo and Juliet"
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white rosepoint lace gown fashioned with bands of lace dotted with sequins and pearls on the wedding ring collar, outlining the yoke of the bodice at the cuffs of the long sleeves and edging the skirt. A full cage back ending in a chapel-length train completed the gown. Her tiered English illusion veil was held by a profile headpiece of orange blossoms. She carried a Colonial bouquet of white carnations, white sweetheart roses and baby's breath.
  Mrs. Judith Jones of Johnson, Vt., was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a white linen weave Aline gown with a three-quarter inverted pleat at the back. The jewel neckline, short sleeves and hem were trimmed with lavender and pink embroidered lace. She wore a light pink pleated picture hat with a bow at the back. She carried a Colonial bouquet of light pink carnations and cornflowers with pink streamers.
  Miss Carolyn Clute of Syracuse, Miss Sandra Howell of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Jane Nystedt of Diursholm, Sweden and Mrs. Adreta Philipson of Stocksund, Sweden, sisters of the bridegroom, were attendants. They wore gowns and hats designed like those of the matron of honor, the first two wearing azalea pink hats and the other two deep lavender hats. They carried bouquets of light pink carnations and streamers with cornflowers and azalea pink carnations and streamers with cornflowers, respectively.
  Dr. Bo Philipson of Stocksund, brother-in-law of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Emond Jones of Johnson, Vt, brother-in-law of the bride; Lars Nystedt of Djursholm, brothers-in-law of the bridegroom: Thomas Kerr of Wyckoff, New Jersey, John Kerr of Westfieid, N. J. and Peter Kerr of North Hamilton, Mass., cousins of the bridegroom.
  The mother of the bride wore a turqoise blue embroidered organza Aline dress with a wedding ring collar over taffeta. She wore matching accessories. The mother of the bridegroom wore a white organza dress adorned with dark blue silk flower embroidery. Both wore corsages of white cymbidium orchids.
  A reception for 145 was held at Nick Stoner Inn, Caroga Lake, after the ceremony with music provided by Fred Clute and his orchestra. Guests attending were from towns in New York, New Jersey. Vermont, Massachusetts and Sweden.
  After a cross-country trip to California, the couple will reside at 518 Dryden Road, Ithaca. For her going away outfit the bride chose a pink Aline crepe dress with short sleeves and a militant collar. She wore matching accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
  Attendants were presented gifts at a rehearsal dinner given prior to the wedding by the parents of the bridegroom at the Johnstown Motor Inn. The bride and bridegroom were honored at a recent his and hers shower at the home of Mrs. Frederick Crate, 64 East Boulevard.
  The bride attended Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, O. and received a bachelor of science degree in home economics at Cornel University. Ithaca, 1968. She is completing her requirements for a master's degree in elementary education at State University at Cortland. She will be teaching first grade at Moravia, Cayuga County, in September.
  The bridegroom, a graduate of Sigtuna Gymnasium. Sweden, served with the Royal Swedish Armed Forces. He will be a senior at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in September.

  Miss Marjorie M. Astle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Astle, 2802 Sunset avenue, Utica, was married to Edward W. Atty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Atty, 12 South Chase street, this city, Saturday night at 7 in New Hartford. The ceremony was performed at the Baptist church by Rev. George Bennett.
  The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Astle, brother of the bride and his wife, and the ushers were Frank S. Pyne of this city, student at Clarkson Institute and George Hatsenbuhler, also of Johnstown, student at Syracuse
University.
  Both the bride and her matron of honor wore white wool, the bride having a corsage of white roses and her attendant red roses. The mother of the bride wore brown crepe and the bridegrooms mother black silk wool crepe, each with a corsage of yellow roses.
  A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, attended by fifty guests.
  The young couple left later in the evening on a honeymoon to New York city and upon their return will take up their residence at the Astle home, 2602 Sunset avenue, Utica, where both are employed by the American Telephone &
Telegraph Co.
 The bride is a graduate of Utica Academy, class of 1938, and was the guest of honor at several pre-nuptial parties. Mr. Atty is a graduate of Johnstown High school, class of 1930, and after attending a school conducted by the A. T. A T. Co. in Boston was connected with that firm in Albany abour one year, and was later transferred to Utica.
  Among those present were the following guests from Johnstown: Mr. and Mrs, Ward Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Beck, Mrs. Elisabeth Getman. Mr, and Mrs, Harry Staley. Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Atty, Mrs. Selma Atty, Douglas Atty, Miss Doris Allen and James Haggart.

  Miss Planck, a graduate of Canajoharie High School and Plattsburgh State Teachers College, is on the faculty of the Delmar Grade School.
  Mr. Sparry, a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, served two years in the Navy and attended Champlain College. He is a graduate of Midland Central Radio School, Kansas City, and is with Thomas A. Edison Inc., Albany.

  CANAJOHARIE- Miss Gwenyth Jean Planck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Wesley Planck, 131 Walnut St., and Page W. Sperry Jr., son of Mrs. Page W. Sperry and the late Mr. Sperry. 139 Dove St., Albany, were married Saturday afternoon in Canajoharie Methodist Church. The Rev. Albert M. Brockway, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white Skinner satin, with a fitted bodice of chantilly lace, long pointed sleeves, a Queen Anne neckline, a skirt edged with lace and a chapel-length train. Her fingertip veil fell from a cap of satin and lace. She carried a prayerbook on which was a cascade bouquet of white roses with a white orchid insert.
  Her matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Planck of Sherrill, a sister-in-law, and her maid of honor, Miss Nancy Anne Planck of Canajoharie, a sister, wore identical gowns of red velvet with nylon net overlay, hoop skirts with a bow of velvet, fitted bodices of red velvet, and small headbands with matching veils. They carried cascade bouquets of white pompons with holly.
  Her bridesmaids were Miss Joan Dicks of Syracuse and Canajoharie; Miss Anne Lee of Barneveld; Miss Patricia Rutishauser of Canajoharie; and Miss Margaret French of Scotia. They wore identical gowns to those of the maid and matron of honor only in green.
  Kenneth Knapp. West Orange. N.J., was best man. The ushers were Phillip Sperry, brother of the bridegroom; Thomas Planck of Sherrill, brother of the bride; James Agar of Delmar; George Evans of Delmar, and John W. Randall of Albany.
  Mrs. William Johnstown, [sic] Palatine Bridge, sang "At Dawning," "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. James King, cousin of the bride, Fort Plain, played traditional wedding music on the organ.
  The church was decorated with baskets of white gladioli and snapdragons, Christmas greens and trees and candles.
  The mother of the bride wore a street-length dress of seafoam blue with white accessories. The mother of the bridegroom wore an orchid dress with matching accessories. Both were corsages of pink roses.
  A reception was held at the Fort Rensselaer Club. For her wedding trip to Florida, Mrs. Sperry chose a brown wool suit with matching accessories and an orchid corsage. On their return the couple will reside in Slingerlands.
  The bride is a graduate of Canajoharie Central School, Cazenovia Junior College and Plattsburgh State Teachers College. She is a teacher in Delmar Elementary School.
  The bridegroom is a graduate of Bethlehem Central School at Delmar, served in the U.S. Navy for two years, attended Champlain College, and graduated from the Midland Central Radio School, Kansas City, Mo. He is employed by the Thomas A. Edison Inc., Albany.

  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ralph A. Curtis, pastor, before an altar decorated with white mums, gladioli and white candles and candelabra. Mrs. J. Edward King, Fort Plain, organist, played a recital of traditional wedding music. Mrs. William W. Johnstone, Palatine Bridge, sang "Lord's Prayer," "At Dawning," and "I Love You Truly,"
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza with a portrait neckline, elbow length sleeves and a chapel train. The bodice, sleeves and front panel were embroidered with seed pearls. A queen's crown of crystals and pearls held her veil of silk illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.
  Serving as matron of honor was Mrs. Page W., Sperry, sister of the bride, from Hyde Park. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Thomas W Planck, Sherrill; Mrs. Fehmy Elmasry, West Hempstead; Mrs. Robert Ells, II, Boston, Mass.; with Miss Beth Ellen Sperry, niece of the bride as flower girl. Gary E. Planck, ringbearer, is a nephew of the bride.
  The attendants all wore floor length gowns of blue silk with matching hats and white wrist gloves and carried cascade bouquets of lavender and white asters with ivy.
  The best man was John S. Howard, Campbell, Calif. Seating the guests were Thomas W. Planck and Lt. Ronald Planck, brothers of the bride, and Page W. Sperry Jr., brother-in-law of the bride.
  The mother of the bride chose a blue silk, sheath dress with lace and pearls, blue hat and a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom's mother wore an aqua silk linen sheath with an aqua hat and a corsage of pink roses.
  Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Fort Rensselaer Club, Canajoharie, with out of town guests attending from Albany, Delmar, Hyde Park, Syracuse, Schenectady, Oneonta, Johnstown, Fort Plain, St. Johnsville, Los Gatos and Campbell, Calif.; Boston, Mass., and Heninker,

  The bride graduated from Canajoharie Central School and Wheeloclt [?] College, Boston, Mass., with a BS in education and has taught for two years in the Bethlehem Central School, Delmar, N.Y.
  The bridegroom graduated from Los Gatos Union High School, University of Hawaii and San Jose State College with degrees In advertising and journalism. Presently he is serving with naval intelligence attached to Carrier Air Group 21.

  ROME - Charles H. Edkins, 61, of 607 Beech St., business administrator for the Rome public schools, was pronounced dead on arrival yesterday at Rome Hospital Oneida, County Coroner, Thomas Cox, attributed death to a heart attack.
  Edkins had served on the Rome Board of Education for five years and was president for one year. He retired in 1967 to become the first business administrator for the school system.
  A former physical education teacher, Edkins came to Rome in 1942 and had served as coach of the football, basketball and track at Rome Free Academy and later as director of the physical education program for the Rome school.
  He was born in Hamilton, and in 1937 married Adelaide Case in New Baltimore, N.Y. He was graduated from Hamilton High School in 1931 and Cortland State Teachers College in 1936. Before moving to Rome he had taught in Greene and Hamilton.
  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rome, Roman Lodge, F&AM; the Scottish Rite, and has served as an elder for the church for many years.
  Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. James Cynthia Anno of Crofton; two sons, Warren E. of University Park, a., and Neil Edkins of Rush, and a sister, Mrs. James (Dorothy) McFarlane of Stuart Fla.
  The funeral will be at the convience of the family. There are no calling hours.
  Arrangements are by the Prince and Boyd Home for Funerals, Rome.

  Warren C. Edkins was best man for his brother. Ushering were Joseph A. Tosti, the bride's brother, Edward D. Dake and Robert Campbell all of this city; and John Steinbrenner, Lowville.
  After a reception in The Beeches, the couple left for Cape Cod. They will make their home in E. Henrietta.
  The bride was graduated from the State University at Buffalo and he husband was graduated from the State University College at Cortland. They will teach in the Rush Henrietta Central Schools.

  Alma Luella Fusmer Klein, 90, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Westbury Nursing Home in McDonough, Ga.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Klock Wilbur and Benjamin Charles Fusmer and her husband, John Matthew Klein.
  She was the mother of John Matthew Klein Jr., Luella Klein Ballew and the late Warren Dennis Klein. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
  Alma was a native of St. Johnsonville, N.Y., and a long time resident of Metairie and LaPlace.
  She has been in McDonough since Hurricane Katrina.
  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service conducted by Elder Mark Murret at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lakefront Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 301 Veteran's Highway, Kenner.
  Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time.
  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201-2483 or your favorite charity, are preferred.
  Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell was in charge of arrangements.

   Warren Dennis Klein, a lawn care worker, died May 12 of heart disease at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 55. Mr. Klein was born in New Orleans and lived in Slidell for the past 33 years. Survivors include his mother, Alma Fusmer Klein; a brother, John Matthew Klein Jr.; and a sister, Luella Klein Ballew. Private services are planned. Honaker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
