  Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon. Pastor Randy Christian will officiate. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
 Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary E. Curry
  Mary E. Curry, age 92, of Brooklyn passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Countryside Care Center in Jackson. Mary was born on April 13, 1914 in Adrian, the daughter of Russell and Ava (Peters) Rider. She married George Curry on June 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death.
   She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Kenneth Kuhn, and two brothers. Mary is survived by two sons, David (Mary Lou) Kuhn and Michael (Lucy Edwards) Curry; one daughter, Rebecca (Timothy) DeWaters; four grandsons, George, Samuel, Zachary DeWaters and Kyle Kuhn; one great granddaughter, Susanna DeWaters. She was a life member of the American Legion, a telephone operator for Tri-County Telephone and Director of the Jackson Friendly Home for many years.
   Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were entrusted to Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Brooklyn.

  VAN WERT-Earl Sherer of 608 S. Franklin, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday in Van Wert County    Hospital following an extended illness.
  Born in Paulding County, he was a mechanical engineer. He was a son of Franklin and Ida Sherer.
  Surviving are his wife, Bernadine; his mother, Mrs. Ida Sherer, Haviland; two sons, Alfred, Butler, Ind., and Ronald, Van Wert; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Ann Hargesheimer, Bowling Green; two brothers, Lester, Haviland and Charles, Middle Point; and seven grandchildren.
  Mr. Sherer attended the First Church of God, and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Alspach Funeral Home. Rev. L. E. Foudy will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.

Minnie Blanche Kohn

 - Obituary - (Times-Bulletin, Van Wert, Ohio., Monday, Feb. 6, 1967)
  SHERWOOD -- Mrs. Minnie B. Frakes, 72, of Rt. 1, Sherwood, died at 3 a.m. today at Paulding County Hospital after an extended illness. Death was attributed to cancer.
  Born Jan 15, 1895, in Hoaglin Township, she was the daughter of Alfred and Anna Marie (Inwood) Kohn. Her marriage to Harry Frakes was solemnized Nov. 22, 1935. Mr. Frakes survives.
  Other survivors include a stepson, Don W. Frakes of Decatur, Ga., a son, Alfred Sherer of Butler, Ind; a daughter, Mrs. Philip (Ida) Hargesheimer of Bowling Green; a brother, Jasper Kohn of Wyandotte, Mich., and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Haviland Methodist Church. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery.
  Friends may call at the Stick-Frye and Lawson Funeral Home in Sherwood after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

  Charles N Sherer, 76, of Middle Point died at 3:20 a.m. today in Van Wert County Hospital. He had been ill two weeks.
  Born Jan 6, 1899, in Paulding County, he was the son of Frank and Ida (Goodwin) Sherer. He married the former Leona Whetstone on May 5, 1923, in Paulding County. She survives.
  Mr. Sherer retired as custodian of Lincolnview East School in 1969 and is also retired custodian of Middle Point United Methodist Church where he attended church.
  Surviving besides the widow are a son, Donald Gale of Middle Point; a brother, Lester Sr. of Haviland; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
  He was preceded in death by a brother and twin sisters who died in infancy.
  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alspachs with the Rev. Everett Thomas officiating and the Rev. Alan Barone assisting.
  Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, near Haviland.
  Preferred memorials are to the Heart Association.
  Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
