  Eugene R. Muller, president of Muller Foods, Jersey City died in his auto Monday from a heart attack returning from a weekend vacation in Montauk Point N. Y. He was 58.
  Mr Muller who lived in Brush Hill Road, Smoke Rise, came to this country from Germany when he was nine. Prior to founding the Muller company in 1946 he was employed by Wesco Foods of Detroit as a district manager. He was a member of the Jersey City Chamber of Commerce.
  Formerly of Upper Montclair, he moved to Smoke Rise eight years ago.

  Scott M.. Rider, 80, of 464 Jamesway, Marion, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 1990 in Marion General Hospital.
   Born Feb. 18, 1909 in Bridgeport, Ill., he was the son of McClain and Lissie (Powell) Rider. He was married Oct. 28, 1939 to Madeline Foreman, who survives.
  Also surviving are a son, Deryl D., Marion, a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Sharon) Ruffener, Bucyrus, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
  Mr. Rider had worked for the Bucyrus City Schools. He retired from Wittenberg University as a stationary boiler engineer. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Marion Concert Band and Bucyrus Community Band.
   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Boyd Funeral Home, Marion. Rev. James Urquhart will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus.


Madeline Mae Foreman

  Madeline M. Rider, 80, formerly of Maple-crest, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001; at Fairview Manor where she had lived since August.
  Born July 18, 1920, in Mount Victory, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Crystal (Little) Foreman. On Oct. 23, 1939, she married Scott Marvin Rider in Wapakoneta; he preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1990, in Marion.
  She was a homemaker and caregiver. She lived most of her life in the Bucyrus and Marion area. She was a 1938 graduate of Byhalia High School and 1939 graduate of Lima Beauty Academy. She attended Presbyterian churches in Marion and Bucyrus.
  She is survived by her children, Sharon Kay and husband, Gerald Ruffener of Bucyrus, Deryl Duane Rider of Delaware; grandchildren, Lesley and husband, Ned Shryock of Sunbury, Laura and husband, Jeff Rail of Bucyrus, Brad and wife, Mary Ruffener of Hilliard, Deryl Duane Rider II of Florida; and a sister, Evidene B.    Tillman of Mount Victory. She was preceded in death by a brother Walter I. Foreman.
  The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus, with Pastor Bob Hamilton officiating.
  Burial is in Oak-wood Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Manor, Council on Aging or Martin Luther Lutheran Church..

  Mrs. Hazel May decker, 45, former Lima resident died Manday at 9 p.m. at her home in Cridersville after an illness of 11 years. She was the wife of Harold Decker and was born in Lima, moving to Cridersville 18 years ago, She was a member of the Cridersville Methodist church.
  Surviving in addition to the husband are a son, Thoms, at Camp Gruder, Okla., a daughter, Mrs. Robert Kohler, at home; her mother Mrs. Emma Crumrine, 1032 Hughes-av, Lima: three sisters and three brothers. they are Mrs. Ruth Oswald, Mrs. Helen Houseworth and Mrs. Mildren Johnson, all of Lima; Lee Ralph and Everett Crumrine, all of Harrod.
  The body will be taken from the Bayliff funeral home, cridersville to the late residence Tuesday where it will remain until services planned for Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Cridersville Methodist church. The Rev. L. C. Shaver will officiate, assisted by Rev. Cecil Fogle, of Lima. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Lima.

  EDNA NAOMI CROFT, 92, died at 12:05 p.m. Dec. 2, 2006, at Shawnee Manor.
She was born Feb. 3, 1914, in Spencerville, to John and Naomi Rider Decker, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 11, 1931, she married Benjamin Franklin Croft, who died Dec. 19, 1987.
  Mrs. Croft worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. during World War II and retired as a manager for Nickles Bakery. She attended Spencerville High School. She was a member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Lima. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and sewing. Survivors include a son, William (Karen) Croft of Lima; a daughter, Joan (Thomas) Haines of Lima; three granddaughters, Ann (Michael) Lawrence of Wapakoneta, and Kim (Andy) King and Kari Masters, both of Lima; and six great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Decker; two sisters, Odes Jenkins and Letha Vorhees; and a great-granddaughter.
  Services will begin at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Lima. The Rev. Ed Rinehart will officiate. The body has been donated to the Ohio State University Medical School. The cremated remains will be buried in Spencerville Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersvile.

  MAURICE L. SIMPSON, 67, died at 5:20 p.m. March 19, 2002, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
  He was born June 3, 1934, in Auglaize County to Russel and Millie Bowers Simpson, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 1, 1976, in Mendon, he married Betty Thomas.
  Mr. Simpson retired as a farmer and as a sexton at Mendon Cemetery.
  Survivors include a brother, Loyd Simpson of Mendon; a sister, Virgina (Ross) Webb of Mendon and a sister-in-law, Frances Simpson of Phoenix.
  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Harold; and two sisters, Addie and Pauline.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. The Revs.
  Dane Bruce and Dr. Paul Bunnel will officiate. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.

  She was born October 2, 1933 in Mercer Co., Ohio to Waldo and Ella Mae (Book) Thomas (deceased). On August 1, 1976 she married Maurice Simpson who died on March 19, 2002.
  Other survivors are three brothers; James (Jean) Thomas, Convoy, Ohio; Carl (Mary) Thomas, Columbus, Ohio; Wayne (Connie) Thomas, Bowling Green, Ohio; a Brother in Law; Donald Hellwarth, Marysville, Ohio; four sisters; Lois Joseph, Lima, Ohio; Joan (Fred) Hasis, Mendon, Ohio; Eunice (Glen) Richardson, Lima, Ohio; Jeanette Hellwarth (deceased).
  She was preceded in death by her sister in law, Mart Thomas; a brother in law Gene Joseph; and a nephew, Greg Joseph.
  Betty graduated from Mendon High class of 1951, and graduated from Lima Memorial School of Nursing in 1956. She was a retired register nurse, from Lima Memorial Hospital. Betty was the head emergency room nurse at Lima Memorial.
  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-6 on Friday December 17, 2010 at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Clinger officiating.

   Mrs. Crider was a lifelong resident of Jennings twp. She is survived in addition to the husband, her mother Mrs. Frank Simpson; two sons, John Crider of Spencerville and Gail Crider of Lima, Route 2; 5 grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.
  Funeral services were held Saturday at the Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos with Rev. Gerald Erter officiating.
