FRANKFORT — Mrs. Pauline M. Schuyler, 51, of Ferguson Rd., RD 2, former owner of the Philander Nursing Home, died yesterday enroute to St. Luke's Hospital Center, Utica.
Death was attributed to natural causes by Dr. Preston Clark, Oneida County coroner. Born in Canastota, daughter Ronald of Philander and Mary Webber, she was educated there and also moved to Frankfort in 1942. She was twice married. Her first husband, Willard F. Schuyler whom she married in 1934, died in 1936. In 1937, she was married to Leonard A. Schuyler. Mrs. Schuyler was a member of the West Frankfort Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Sereday, Frankfort; a son, Willard, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Depot, Syracuse; Mrs. Mary Adams, Massachusetts; two brothers, William, Hayward, Wis.; Benjamin, Utica.
The Rev. Allen H. Lum, West Frankffort Methodist Church pastor, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday from the Ortner Funeral Home, Utica. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to p p.m. tomorrow.

DURHAMVILLE Sharon E. Schuyler, 75 Buck Street, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in the Extended Care Facility of Oneida Health, where she had been a patient for the past four and one-half months. Born in Port Leyden, on June 17, 1943, she was the daughter of Walter and Zilthia Armstrong Kiser. A resident of Durhamville since 1966, Sharon was a graduate of Port Leyden High School. She married Willard W. Schuyler in Rome in 1966. She was of the Catholic faith. Surviving besides her husband, Willard, are her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Bernice Kiser of Camden, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held, at the convenience of the family, at the family plot in Rathbunville Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.

The former Katherine Schuyler, of Frankfort, and Carl P. Johnston, were married May 2, 1942 in the Methodist Church in Frankfort.
Life-long residents of this area, he is employed at UNIVAC and she is employed as a nurse’s aide at the Masonic Home, in Utica.
The couple are parents of 10 sons, twins, Carl, of Little Falls RD 2 and Carlos, 26, of Louisville, Ky.; Leroy, 24, of Ilion; Leonard, 22, of Ilion; Tim, 19, in Michigan; Wayne, 18, U.S. Marine Corps; Roger, 17, Utica; Earl, 15, Little Falls; Dale, 12, and Danny, 9, both at home, and four daughters, Mrs. Terrance (Pumray) Sullivan, Ilion; Mrs. David (Edith) Shibley, in California; Mrs. Joseph (Susan) Napoli, Frankfort, and Laura, at home.

James (Buddy) Lesniak, 42, of 800 Oriskany St. W., a welder for the McCoy Iron Co., died yesterday in St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born In Clinton, son of John and Victoria Tatarek Lesniak. He attended Clinton schools. He married Marian Lawler in Pennsylvania in 1949. They came to Utica and have lived here since. He was employed by the iron company since 1956. Mr. Lesniak served in the Army during World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Howard J. Dennison, Utica, and Stephen B. Lesniak, Utica; a daughter, Marlynn Jane Lesniak, Utica.; two sisters. Mrs. John (Mary) Jasinski, Utica and Mrs. Joseph (Julia) Mitnyk, Clinton, and two brothers, Albert Lesniak, Chicago, Ill. and Stanley Lesniak, Utica.
The funeral will he at 10:30 Wednesday from the John S. Friedel Funeral Home, 6 Steuben Park. Burial wili be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

William Ronald Rehm, 85, passed away after a short illness, on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare of the MVHS.
William was born in Utica, May 24, 1935, a son of the late William Ronald and Pearl (Rushlow) Rehm. He was educated in local schools, graduating from T.R. Proctor High School in 1953. Mr. Rehm proudly served our country in the US Army, in Korea, until he was honorably discharged in 1957.
On September 12, 1970, Bill married the former Marian Lawler Lesniak, and the couple was devoted to each other until Marian’s passing on February 16, 2019.
Bill worked as a Body and Fender man at Beacon Body Shop in Utica, with longtime friend, Phil Gulla.
Bill was our father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who was a special man, always willing to help anyone and was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Knapp, Dawn Kealy, and Patricia and Anthony Viti; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Floyd Smith; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Nunes and Kenneth and Dawn Rehm; daughter, Kathy Rehm, with whom he resided; and son, Donald Rehm. He dearly loved Toby and Heather Tobin and family and Kenneth and Lonna Wilcox and family. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom he recently was able to meet and enjoy time together; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was so proud of them all and was so happy to have had the time they spent with him.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marian; brothers, Earl Lee and Jack Rehm; daughters, Donna Jean Johnston and Patricia Pearl Jackowski; granddaughter, Debra Ann Bayer; grandson, William Wayne Lawler; and great grandson, Antonio Curtis.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Painesville, and enjoyed Blue Grass Music, Sewing, Traveling, and Antiques

The wedding took place at 11 a.m. in Calvary Episcopal Church, the Rev. W. Aubrey Ariln officiating. The bride's sister, Miss Margaret Prespare, and the bridegroom's brother, William Lawler, attended the couple.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white sharkskin suit with white accessories and carried gardenias, lilies of the valley and roses. Her sister wore a pale pink suit dress with white accessories and carried a colonial bouquet.
A weddiag breakfast for the bridal party and immediate families was served in the bride's
home followed by a reception in Pete's Hall.
Following a short wedding trip the couple will make their home Utica.

Albert Lawler, 53, of 1128 Whitesboro St., died June 5, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born in Herkimer, son of Augustus and Bessie Hunt Lawler. He attended Herkimer and Utica Schools and married Marjorie Larmon in 1967 in Pa. Mr. Lawler was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a self-employed painter in the Utica area and a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Margie Bess Lawler; a son. Albert A. Lawler, both of Utica; three sisters; Mrs. Ronald (Marian) Rehm, of Frankfort, Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Aiken, of Marcy, Lillian Lawler, of Utica; five brothers, William, of Utica. Clarence, of St. Petersburg. Fla., James, Arthur and Robert, all of Utica; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorine Larmon. of Waterville. He also leaves two step-daughters; six step-sons; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother. Augustus Raymond Lawler, of Ohio.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 at The Friedel & Williams Funeral Home, Inc.. Court at York Sts. Interment will be in New Forest Cemetery

Mrs. Bessie M. (Aiken) Lawler, 81, of Whitesboro, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.
Bessie was born in Herkimer, NY on February 25, 1939, the daughter of Augustus and Bessie (Hunt) Lawler and received her education in local schools. On June 23, 1956, Bessie was united in marriage with Robert Aiken, Sr. At one time, Bessie was employed with Faxton Hospital in Utica, later with Lincoln Laundry, Smith Dry Cleaners, Mele Manufacturing, and for 15 years, as a home health aide in the Utica area. Bessie enjoyed crocheting, gardening, arts and crafts, and singing karaoke. She was of the Episcopal faith.
Mrs. Lawler is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bessie A. and Joseph Stooks of VA, Evelyn M. and Edward Ryczek of N. Utica and Lily L. Aiken of Marcy; two grandchildren, Christopher Stooks and Jason Stooks and one sister, Lillian Lawler of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Clyde Johnson, her son, Robert Aiken, one sister, Marian Rehm, and seven brothers, Raymond Augustus Lawler, Albert Lawler, Clarence Lawler, Arthur Lawler, William Lawler, Robert Lawler and James Lawler.
Mrs. Lawler’s funeral, was held privately at the convenience of her family.

FORESTPORT - Paul B. Edick, 62, Rt. 28. a retired N.Y.S. Department of Transportation employee, died at St. Elizabeths Hospital. Utica June 9, 1986, after suffering an parent heart attack.
Born in Fairfield, N.Y. on November 6,1923, he was a son of Arthur and Lila McLean Edick. His younger life was spent in Utica and Hinckley. Mr. Edick married Louise C. Hunt in Mohawk on October 28, 1950. The Edicks have lived in Forestport for the last 30 years. After 25 years with the D.O.T. at Alder Creek, Mr. Edick retired in 1982.
Besides his wife survivors include a daughter Janelle Zemeni, Forestport; four sisters Rosetta Christman and Diana Countryman, both of Mohawk, Dorothy Barrett, Hinckley and Shirley Marleau, Otter Lake; and three brothers Earl of Little Falls, Robert of Hinckley and Norman of Syracuse.
Funeral on Thursday at 8.15 a.m. at The Trainor-Funeral Home, Boonville, and at 9 at St Patrick's Church, Forestport. Interment in Beechwood Cemetery. Calling hours 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday. Memorial to Forestport Fire Department or Prospect Ambulance.

JORDANVILLE - Mrs. Anna (Hunt) Soposki, of Jordanville, NY, passed away peacefully, at Saratoga Hospital, on January 7, 2019 at the age of 85.
Ann was born to parents, William and Catherine Hunt, on July 26,1933, in Paines Hollow, NY. She grew up as the third oldest of ten and attended Mohawk Central Schools. She married Metro Soposki and they shared 50 years of marriage.
Through most of her adult life, she worked in LifeSavers, Beechie Dept., where she enjoyed so many wonderful, lifelong friends and had continued many of those friendships throughout her lifetime. Many thanks from her, for the extra special friendships of Maggie Etherton, Dorothea Sullivan and June Richvalsky. Ann was a volunteer in the Van Hornesville Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed visiting the casinos and hitting a jackpot here and there. Mostly just spending time with family and friends made her happy.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Soposki) Hoke, of Ballston Spa, NY; her grandson, Joshua Hoke, Saratoga Springs, NY; her brothers, Bill Hunt Jr. (Barbara Goodson) and Russell (& Marianne) Hunt; her sisters, Betty Smith and Jean (Bob) Mang; along with 42 nieces and nephews. She especially enjoyed her frequent visits by her great-nephews, Hunter & Cole Coveny.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Metro Soposki; her brothers, George and Lester Hunt; and her sisters, Louise Edick, Nancy Mitchell, and Dorothy Hunt.
At Ann’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in Mohawk Cemetery. While condolences are appreciated, no donations are requested.

Aubrey "Obbie" Smith, 63, of 213 Mount Area Drive, Bristol, TN, died Monday, April 27, 1998, in Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol TN.
He was a native of Mohawk, NY, and moved to Bristol TN in 1976. He was a senior Electrical Engineer for Unisys until he retired in 1989. He was also of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hunt Smith; two sons, Dennis and Kevin Smith, both of Bristol TN; one sister, Audrey Higgins, Beckley, WV; two brothers, Gareth Smith, Fort St. Lucie, FL, LaMont Smith, Mohawk; and several nieces and nephews.
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home is in charge.

MOHAWK — Miss Betty Joan Hunt, of 75 Columbia St., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Hunt of Mohawk RD 1, and Aubrey Frederick Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hillegas of Richfield Springs, RD 1, were married Oct. 4 in First Methodist Church.
The double ring ceremony was performed before an altar decorated with white gladioli by the pastor, Rev. Rollo D. Pierce. Mrs. Blanche Rankins was organist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of tulle and lace, fashioned with a basque bodice, stand-up collar, long sleeves ending in bridal points. The bouffant skirt was made with alternating tiers of scalloped lace and nylon tulle, ending in a chapel train. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with embroidered lace and rhinestones and caught to a crown of rhinestones and sequins. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and pompons.
Mrs. Marvill Higgins, bridegroom's sister, was matron of honor. She chose a yellow ballerina length princess style gown of nylon lace over taffeta styled with a scoop neckline ending in a V-back accented with long nylon chiffon streamers. She wore a matching head band with circular veil and carried a colonial bouquet of bronze pompons.
Bridesmaids, the Misses Nancy Hunt, bride’s sister and Jeanne Irving, wore dresses identical to Mrs. Higgins but in pink and blue. They carried colonial bouquets of orchid and yellow pompons. Juanita Anita Smith, bridegroom's niece of Richfield Springs, was flower girl.
The bride's mother was dressed in blue and the bridegroom's mother chose navy blue, with matching accessories. Each wore a red rose corsage.
Marvill Higgins was best man for his brother-in-law. Ushers were Metro Sopaski, bride’s brother-in-law, and S/Sgt. Norman Smith, bride's brother. Floyd Herbert Smith, bridegroom’s nephew of Richfield Springs, was ring bearer.
Following a reception in the Valley Tavern, the couple left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada. For traveling, the bride chose a green wool knit dress with a yellow rose corsage. They will reside at 75 Columbia St.
The bride is a 1954 graduate of Mohawk Central High School and is employed at Woolworth’s Store in Herkimer. The bridegroom, a 1953 graduate of Richfield Springs School, served three years in the Army and is employed at Sperry Rand.
Pre-nuptial events were given by Mrs. Russell Hillegas, Mrs. Audrey Higgins, Mrs. Metro Sopaski and Miss Jeanne Irving.
Guests were present from Richfield Springs, Forrestport, Buffalo, Wisconsin, Newport, Plattsburg, Sherburne, Bridgewater, Clayville, Sauquoit, Texas, and Valley towns.

William B. Hunt, Jr. 1937 - 2021 Beloved Father and Grandfather
MOHAWK - William B. Hunt, Jr., age 83, formerly of Johnson Ave., Mohawk, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Foltsbrook, Herkimer.
He was born on September 7, 1937, in the Town of German Flatts, the son of William B. Hunt, Sr. and Katherine (Mosher) Hunt and attended Mohawk schools. Bill was a veteran, serving in the US Army. Bill also served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Alexander Hose Company for several years. On August 15, 1959, he was married to Ellen Desgrosielliers, at the Paines Hollow Church. She died on January 10, 2005. Bill was employed as a heavy equipment operator at NYSDOT, Herkimer, for 37 years, retiring in 1992.
Surviving family members include his companion, Barb Goodson, with whom he resided; three sons, William B. Hunt, III and his wife, Susan, Ronald A. Hunt and his wife, Shari, Randel S. Hunt, Sr. and his wife, Dawn, all of Mohawk; twelve grandchildren, Kristin, Amanda, Courtney, Alexandra, Jacquelyn, Hayley, Zachary, Emily, Randel, Jr., Ryan, Kaylee and Amanda; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Mang; his brother, Russell Hunt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife; his parents; his sisters, Ann Soposki, Louise Edick, Betty Smith, Nancy Mitchell and Dorothy Hunt; and his brothers, George and Lester Hunt.
In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be a graveside service held later this spring of 2021, at Mohawk Cemetery, depending on COVID restrictions at that time.
