  DOLGEVILLE - Mr. Clarence J. Youker, 80, of 10 Howard St., passed away Saturday evening in Van Allen's Nursing Home, Little Falls, after a long illness.
   He is survived by his wife, the former Catherine Goodman; two sons, William C. and Zane Youker, both of Dolgeville; one daughter, Mrs. Timothy (Diane) Crowley of Dolgeville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
   Private funeral services Tuesday from the Roberts Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville. Burial in Doigeville Cemetery later in the spring. Friends may call today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Dolgeville Masonic Lodge will hold ritualistic services at 8 p.m. this
evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Youker's memory may be sent to the Dolgeville Ambulance Corp.

  Zada I. Furman Youker died Wednesday, February 15, at St. Luke Health Center, Oswego. Born December 21, 1904, she was the daughter of Lewis and Erma (Miller) Furman of Spring Valley, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold R. Youker, in 1976, and a brother, N. Lansing Furman.
  Surviving are two sons, James and his wife Linda of Pulaski, and John and his wife Barbara of South Glens Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Alan of Baldwinsville, Kurt of Sandy Creek, Phillip of Wallingford, CT, Stephen of South Glens Falls and Jennifer Begansky of San Antonio, TX; and nine great-grandchildren.
  "Pete", as she was affectionately known, graduated from Savage College and Cortland State College in 1927. That same year she married "Youk" and they moved to Pulaski where they settled and remained active in education, sports and the community all of their lives.
  Zada was a member of the First Congregational Church of Pulaski, the Tuesday Study Club and the Elm's Golf Course. She also taught physical education in several area school districts.
  Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, at 11 a.m. at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY. Spring Burial at Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name and memory can be made to the Harold R. Youker Scholarship Fund, c/o Pulaski Alumni Association, P.O. Box 344, Pulaski Central School, Pulaski, New York 13142.

  Clyde B. Vedder, 95, died Dec. 12, 1998, in Corvallis, Mont.
  A native of Schuylerville, N.Y., he was born April 10, 1903, to Floyd and Lena (Walker) Vedder.
  Vedder was an author of 16 books, including The Delinquent Girl and Juvenile Offenders. He taught at 25 universities in the United States and Canada and graduated with a Ph.D in sociology and criminal justice from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
  He was associated with 16 professional organizations and had seven state level assignments appointed by governors.
  Surviving are wife, Eileen M. of Yerington; sons, Merman and Dan and daughter, Dorrie Harbord, all of California; daughter, Virginia Zeckser of Kansas; stepsons, Jim Bush of Texas and Ray Bailey of Montana; stepdaughter, Jean Pfau of Indiana; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
  A private memorial service will be held in Montana and Nevada. Arrangements are under the direction of Daly-Leach Chapel, Hamilton, Mont.

  The bridegroom was graduated form Burlingame High school and the University of California at Berkley where he was affiliated with Acacia fraternity. a veteran of Army duty, he has been in business in Martinez for several years. He is the brother of Daniel D. Vedder of Burlingame and Mrs. Arthur H. Zeckser of Redwood City.
  The new Mrs. Vedder is the daughter of Mrs. George H. Stuart of Vancouver.

  Everett J. ''Buddy'' Beers, 89, of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore, KY, formerly of Owensboro, died Sunday, May 12 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Xenia Hunt Beers November 19, 1996.
  Mr. Beers retired as a hardware salesman; graduated from the University of Kentucky; and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher and was an Army veteran of World War II having served in Normandy.
  Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Anne Boklage of Louisville and Amanda Howard of Goshen, 4 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  Miss Xenia Louise Hunt and Mr. Everett J. Beers, Jr., were married at the First Presbyterian church at 3:30 p. m. Monday, the Rev. Robert W. Scott, pastor, officiating, in the presence of the immediate families and intimate friends. Miss Thelma Sacre and Mr. Warren Thomas Roark were the attendants.
  The chancel was banked in ferns as a background for the wedding party.
  Mrs. Henry Petit, organist, rendered a short program of numbers. Before the entrance of the bridal group Miss Olive Lashbrook, violinist, played "Oh Promise Me," by de Koven. The bridal chorus from Lohengrin was used as the processional, "I Love You Truly," by Carrie Jacobs Bond during, the ceremony, and Mendelssohn's wedding march as the recessional.
  The bride, wno was given in marriage by her father, wore the wedding gown of the groom's mother, made of white tulle and embroidered chiffon, edged with rose point lace. It was fashioned on princess lines, with high neck, long sleeves and a short train. Her long tulle veil was adjusted with a cap bound with sprays of gypsophila. She carried a shower boquet of Klllarney rose buds and gypsophila. Her only ornament was a strand of pearls. Her attendant wore a tea rose satin gown, made with drop shoulders, square neckline and bouffant skirt. Her head dress was a short veil, held in place with gold flowers and her other accessories were In shades of gold. She carried Souvenier roses and gypsophila.
  Mrs. Beers is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hunt, of Calhoun. She is a graduate of the Calhoun High school and is prominent in a wide circle of friends. Mr. Beers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett J. Beers, Sr., of Louisville. He attend ed the University of Kentucky, Lexington, and is a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, the Lances, Block and Bridle and the Dairy club. He is connected with Armour and Co., as a field supervisor with headquarters in Owensboro.
  Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Beers left for an extended Eastern wedding trip. Upon their return they will reside at 428 Allen street.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Freeman.
  Mrs. Freeman was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Carlisle, Ky., to the late Everett J. and Amanda Beers. She was a homemaker.

  Camp Quest on Moosehead Lake, Me., will be the scene of the wedding of Miss Ruth Peterson Beers to Harald Edward Kenseth on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The Rev. Robert B. Rock, associate minister of the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, will perform the ceremony which will be followed by a reception at the camp.
  Miss Beers, whose engagement was announced in June, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester David Beers, of Kenyon Ave. She is passing the season at her parents' camp in Maine. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Arnold M. Kenseth of Milton, Mass, and the late Mr. Kenseth.
  The bride-elect's maid of honor and only attendant will be Miss Mary Virginia Williams of Uniontown, Pa, a former classmate at Hood College in Frederick, Md.
  Judson E. Ruch of York, Pa, will be Mr. Kenseth's best man. He is a former classmate of the prospective bridegroom at Bucknell University. There will be no ushers.

Presbyterian Church to Miss Suzanne Virginia Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Eugene Murdoch Cook of San Rafael, Calif. The couple will make their home in Plainfield.
  The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harald Kenseth of Chatham Township.
  The ceremony was performed by the bridegroom's uncle, the Rev. Arnold M. Kenseth, poet, and pastor of the South Amherst (Mass.) Congregational Church.
   The bride was attended by her sister. Miss Nancy Cook, as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were two sisters of the bridegroom, Mrs. Christopher Surleau Hill of Cambridge, Mass., and Miss Joy Kenseth, and Miss Barbara Tiede of Chatham.
  Jonathan Rutledge Kenseth of Chatham Township was his brothers best man and ushers were Mr. Hill, his brother-in-law, and Lawrence Lambert of Chatham and Peter M. Turnbull of San Antonio, Tex.
  Both young people were graduated from Chatham Borough High School and on May 27 from Trinity University in ban Antonio.
  The bridegroom is associated with the Morgan Guaranty Trust Company in New York.
  After a reception at Stouffer's at the Short Hills Mall, Mr. and Mrs. Kenseth left for a wedding trip to Chilmark, Martha's Vinevard.

  Miss Maren Kenseth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harald E. Kenseth of Chatham, was married Saturday to Christopher Surieau Hill, son of the Rev. and Mrs. William S. Hill of East Lansing, Mich.
  Miss Kenseth is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Beers of 1035 Kenyon Ave.
  The afternoon ceremony took place in Webb Memorial Chapel of the Madison Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Arnold M. Kenseth, the bride's uncle and minister of the South Amherst (Mass.) Congregational Church, officiated. The reception was at the home of the bride's parents.
  Miss Joy Kenseth was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Ann Barton of Aurora, Ill., Miss Suzanne Cook of San Francisco, Miss Pamela Hill, the bridegroom's sister, and Mrs. Bruce, Riddington of. Randolph, Mass., the brides cousin.
  Roger Haverfield of Shelby, Ohio, was the best man. Ushers were Harvey Goldman of Detroit, Roger Hill of Detroit, the bridegroom's cousin, and Bruce and Jonathan Kenseth, the bride's brothers.
  The bride is also the grand daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold M. Kenseth of Milton, Mass. She is an alumna of Chatham High School and Michigan State University.
  Mr. Hill will study for a Ph.D. at Harvard University. The couple will live in Cambridge, Mass.

  The death of Mrs. Leola Grace Heller, 28, wife of Emery E. Heller, 722 Hill Drive, occurred Saturday morning at Asbury hospital at 2:40 o'clock. Mrs. Heller had lived in Salina 13 years, was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Fraternal Aid Union. Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Laura Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Walker, and her brothers, Francis, Donald and Eldon Walker, all of Salina. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church on Monday afternoon at 2_p_|clock with Rev. Herbert Scott in charge. Interment was made at Gypsum Hill cemetery.
  The Theo Walker family were former residents of Belleville. Mrs. Heller was born here in 1900 and lived here until three years of age.

  Th ebride was born and spent her childhood in this city and attended the Gypsum schools until a few years ago when with her parnts she went to Salina. The groom is an industrius young man and is wmployed as manager on one of the floors of one of the leaiding wholesale poultry houses in Salina.   Francis T. Walker, 92, Salina, died Sunday, June 9, 1996, at his home.
  Mr. Walker was born Nov. 30, 1903, at Gypsum and moved to Salina in 1915. He worked for the Salina Water Department for more than 25 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and K.P.E.R.S.
  A son, Jack, died in World War II.
  Survivors include his wife, Rena E. of Salina; and a nephew and niece, Steve Buchholz and Brenda Weldy, both of Salina.
   The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's, Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, the Rev. Allen Scheer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
   A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary.
   Memorials may be made to the church.
  Visitation will be at the mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

  Eldon Walker, 70, Reading,. Pa., a former Salinan, died Saturday in Reading following a heart attack.
  Mr Walker was born June 28, 1912, in Gypsum. He worked for the Epps Bootery in Salina as a shoe salesman before moving to California in 1938. He was retired from the wholesale shoe business.
  Surviving are his wife, Harriett, of the home; two daughters, Sally Morse, Newport Beach, Calif., and Kay Bogert, Glendora, Calif.; a brother Francis, 331 W. Kirwin; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
  The funearl and burial will be Wednesday in Reading.

  Harriett E. (Posey) Walker, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in her Reading home. She was the widow of Eldon Walker who died in 1983. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Alfred G. and Catherine R. (Hiester) Posey.
  A 1946 graduate of McCann’s School of Business, Harriett was a saleslady for Fun Striders, Inc., Los Angeles, CA, selling sandals and “Bare Traps” adult sandals. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and loved to cheer for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
  Harriett is survived by a sister, Edith F., widow of Theodore F. Jarsocrak, a niece, Patricia K. Moser, Bally, PA; a nephew, Theodore A. Jarsocrak, Wyomissing and her companion, John R. Miller, also survives her. She was predeceased by two sisters: Mildred F. Yerger and Gladys H. Kurtz.
  Services for Harriett will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with burial to follow at Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11a.m. at the funeral home.

  Eva Nettie Younkin, 101, of Imperial, formerly of Minden, died Feb. 19, 2006, at Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.
  Graveside services were held at Minden Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Bill Hunter officiating.
  Eva was born Oct. 7, 1904, in Belleville, Kan., to Francis and Sophia (Heintz) Walker.
  On May 7, 1922, she married Clifford Younkin. He died in 1977.
  Survivors include her daughters, June Steggs of Imperial and Carol Broz of Buhl, Idaho.
  Additional survivors include her son-in-law, John Broz of Buhl; daughter-in-law, Neoma Younkin of Minden; grandchildren, Jeff Steggs and his wife Dianna, Jan Leckway and her husband Chip, Steve Younkin and his wife Aleda, Joe Broz and his wife Jeanette, and Joni Broz; great-grandchildren, Jerry Steggs and his wife Tracy, Garret Steggs and his wife Nikki, Eliza Leckway, Nicholas Younkin, Kyle Younkin, Nicholas Broz, Julianna Broz, Walker Cannon and Rhoads Cannon; and great-great-grandchildren, J.C. Steggs and Kye Steggs.
  Her mother died in 1909, and her father married Olive Trudell. The family moved to Fairbury, and she graduated from Fairbury High School. She taught school one year in the Mullen area.
  Her husband was a rancher in the Mullen area. In 1947, she and her husband purchased the Radford farm at Newark and lived and farmed there for eight years before retiring and moving into Minden.
  After her husband's death, she moved to Cambridge Court in Kearney where she lived for eight years. In summer 2004, she moved to Bethany Home in Minden and lived there until she broke her hip. She moved to Imperial to be close to her daughter and family and lived at Imperial Manor and Heritage of Wauneta Nursing Home.
  She enjoyed crocheting caps for newborns, watching television, working crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden for nearly 60 years, Fort Kearney Chapter NSDAR and PEO Chapter N in Minden.
  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Walker Younkin; son-in-law, Jerry Steggs; grandson, Gary Younkin; great-grandson, Daniel Younkin; and stepsister, Virginia.

  Clifford M Younkin formerly a rancher in western Nebraska, died Thursday at St Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. Services will be held Sunday at the Layton Funeral Home in Minden where he had lived since 1948.
  Survivors include his wife, Eva, a son Walker, of Minden, daughters Mrs. June Steggs of Broken Bow, and Mrs Carol Broz of Denver; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  He was a member of the Methodist Church. The Rev John Minert will officiate and burial will be in the Minden Cemetery.

  Mrs. Younkin, is the oldest daughter of Mart Walker and who have lived in Belleville for a number of years, and are well known. She was graduated from the Fairbury High School last year and taught school one year.
  Mr. Younkin, is living on a ranch near Mullen, where he and his bride will make their home.
