  NORWAY - John I. "Jack" Depew, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. l, 20l2, with his loving family by his side in Niagara, Wis.
  Jack was born in Munising, on April 27, l935, the son of Bertha "Bert" (Hixon) and Willard "Boy" Depew. After graduating from Wm. G. High School in 1953, he worked at Kimberly-Clark in Munising until he joined the U.S. Army (paratroopers). Following his discharge, he returned to Munising and resumed working at K-C. Jack married Linda Prato on June l3, l959. Their son, David was born in l96l. They moved to Detroit where Jack worked at Scott Paper while he attended Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. He took the position of material nanager at Niagara of Wisconsin Paper Mill in l975, where he worked until he was promoted to vice-president of pulp and paper, relocating to St. Paul, Minn. Jack travelled extensively in and out of the country procuring pulp for Pentair's mills. He retired in l990 and resided in Norway.
  Jack was an avid sports fan and a devoted Green Bay Packer-Backer. His very favorite was the game of golf which he greatly enjoyed playing both before and after retirement. He loved to sing, and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and choir in Vulcan.
  Jack was always an upbeat guy, preferring to see the good side of everything and everyone. He woke up every day with a smile.
  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Linda; their son, David (Allison) Depew of Appleton, Wis.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jackson; brother, Jim (Laurie) Depew of Newberry; sisters, Beverly (David) Ghiardi of Munising and Molly (George) Schmidt of Appleton; father-in-law, Kenneth Prato of Munising; brothers-in-law, Allen (Judy) Prato of Munising and John (Marcy) Prato of Appleton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends.
  Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha; father, Willard; brother, David; and mother-in-law, Vida Prato.
  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Timothy Ekaitis at St. Barbara Church in Vulcan on Tuesday at 12 noon. There will be visiting time with family and friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
  Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising

Helen Marie Pipkin

  Helen Marie Pipkin was born on October 5, 1925 to Philip Elwood and Minnie Lee Pipkin in Walker County, Texas. A fourth generation Walker County native, Helen was one of five siblings. Growing up in Huntsville, a Saturday night treat was to walk to "town" to the movies which cost a nickel. A 1943 graduate of Huntsville High School, she passed on many fond memories of being in the Hornet band under the direction of Dr. Elliott Bowers.
  Helen Pipkin married Homer Grisham in 1944 and together they had six children. As residents of the small community of Pine Prairie, Homer and Helen were active in the Pine Prairie school and Walker County 4H where she dedicated her life to making the household function. The Pine Prairie house was always full of her children, neighbor children and city cousins.
  Later in life Helen helped raise many children that came through the First Baptist Church Child Development Center where she continued her life calling to minister to children. A lifetime member of the Walker County Fair, she frequented the fair supporting numerous grandchildren.
  Helen married B.R. Murphy in 1983. "Pepaw" Murphy passed away in 1996.
  Helen is survived by her five children; Sidney Grisham, Carol & husband Eddie Smith, Elwood Grisham & special friend, Pam Wilcox, Nancy Christian & husband Gary all of Huntsville and Mike Grisham & wife Val of Mansfield; her sister Margaret and husband Irl Coyle; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by an infant child, Gordan Wayne Grisham, two brothers, Bill Pipkin and Marvin Pipkin and one sister, Dortha Lee Sylvester.
  Helen's grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Kelton Grisham, Kirk Grisham, Larry King, Jeff Smith, Wes Allison, Greg Grisham, Brian Grisham and Brian Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Helen's granddaughters: Kay Grisham King, Shannon Grisham Bethea, Jennifer Smith Allison, Brandy Grisham Smith, Katie Parrish, Mallory Parrish and Abby Christian.
  Her family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Huntsville Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carrol Williams officiating; interment will follow at Black Jack Cemetery.

  Lena Faye Grisham Malone-Shook, a wonderful Grandmother, Mother, Wife, Sister and Friend, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at a hospital in Nassau Bay surrounded by her loving family.
  She was born October 10, 1938 in Trinity, Texas, the baby of nine children, to Thomas and Elizabeth Dupree Grisham. She was preceded in death by her son, Kerry Malone; husband, Jimmy Malone; granddaughter, Kenady Faith Shook; sisters, brothers and parents. She is survived by her husband, Golden Shook; sons, Jammy Malone and wife Cindy, and Joel Malone; grandsons, Thomas and Michael Malone; granddaughter, Sherry Ann Malone; sister, Vera Troncin; brother, Bobby Grisham and wife Linda; special niece, Kimalee Frazier and husband Jim; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by husbands family, daughters, Beverly Cowan and husband Jeff, Mistie Koinm and husband Steve; son, Paul Shook and wife Kara; grandchildren, Savannah, Carly, Rocky, Karsyn, Jordan, Jessamine and Kooper.
  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 9AM to 11AM and a Celebration of Life following at 11AM at St. John's United Methodist Church 10000 Emmett Lowry, Suite 1414-1418 in Texas City, Texas 77591. Interment will follow at 4PM at Black Jack Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas. In-lieu-of flowers, please make donations to the Building Fund of St. John's United Methodist Church.
