  Mary Lee Harter Gayne, 59, Largo, Fla., formerly of Watertown, died Friday at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Fla. She had been ill with cancer.
  Mrs. Gayne taught school at Adams Center-Adams Central School and for the Watertown City School District and retired after more than 15 years with the Dunedin (Fla.) Elementary School.
  Born Oct. 29, 1944, in Watertown, daughter of Ralph W. and Emily W. Harter, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1962, attended the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and graduated from Potsdam State University College in 1967.
  She married Vernon B. Gayne Jr. on Feb. 18, 1967, at Holy Family Church with Monsignor William J. Arby and the Rev. John B. Smiley officiating. The couple moved to Dunedin, Fla., in 1977, and later to New Orleans.
  She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater, was a volunteer coordinator for Start the Adventure in Reading, New Orleans, and received the St. Louis Order Award from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for her work with STAIR.
  Surviving besides her husband are a son, Mark, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Valerie Gayne and Sara Spiva, both of Clearwater; a sister, Nadine Finkelstein, Pinellas Park, Fla., and three grandchildren.
  A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. today at St. Cecelia Catholic Church.
  Arrangements are with Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, Dunedin.

  Sydura Cross, 79, of 213 Burdick St., Fayetteville, died Monday, June 19 at a local nursing home.
  A life resident of the Fayetteville area, he worked for the Fayetteville Department of Public Works and retired 14 years ago. He was a member of Fayetteville Methodist Church.
  Mr. Cross is survived by his wife, Jessie; four sons, James of Manlius, Samuel of Cazenovia, Richard of Howlett Hill and Donald of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Janet Bloss and Mrs. Marion Davison, both of Manlius, and Mrs. Louise Dupra of Fayetteville; sister, Ada., and a brother, Joseph, both of Manlius; 36 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June. 21 in Fayetteville Methodist Church, the Rev. James B. Spear officating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

  MANLIUS — Miss Janet Cross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Sydura Cross of Fayetteville and Charles Bloss, son of Mrs, Anna Bloss of Cazenovia were united in marriage at the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Frank Cross, East Seneca street, recently.
  Rev. Howard E. Adamy. minister of the Methodist Church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a white wool street-length dress, trimmed with black sequins and matching hat, her bouquet was red roses.
  Miss Marian Cross, sister of the bride; was maid of honor. Her gown was pink wool street-length, and her bouquet was red and yellow roses. Joseph Zupan of Cazenovia was best man.
  A reception for 50 guests was held following the ceremony, and the couple left for a honeymoon trip, and are now making their home with the groom's mother in Cazenovia.
  The bride attended Manlius high school and is employed in the office of the Precision Castings Co., Fayetteville. The groom is a graduate of Cazenovia central high school and is also employed at the Precision Co. plant.

  MANLIUS—A very lovely wedding in the Manlius Methodist Church last Saturday morning united Miss Marion Jean Cross of this village, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sydura Cross of Fayetteville, and William Allen Danforth, son of Mr. and Mrs. DeWftt Danforth also of Fayetteville. Rev. Howard Adamy performed the double ring ceremony, Mrs. Donald Dailey presided at the organ, and Mrs. Ethel Wainwright sang "O Promise Me", and "I Love You Truly."
  Mr. Cross gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a white satin gown fashioned with white laco inserts in the yoke, long full sleeves, full skirt with a train. Her veil was shoulder length and was attached to a tierra with lilies of the valley. She carried an arm bouquet of white baby mums.
  The bride's attendants were her three sisters, Mrs. Charles Bloss, in white net with matching headdress and an arm bouquet of fuchia gladiolas, as matron of honor; and the Misses Dorothy and Louise Cross in aqua net dresses and headdress, carrying white gladiolas, were bridesmaids.
  Donald Danforth, twin brother of the bridegroom, was the best man, and the ushers were Charles Bloss, brother-in-law of the bride, and Robert and Douglas Danforth, also brothers of the bridegroom. Little Barbara Jones was flower girl, and Clifford Warner ring bearer.
  Mrs. Cross chose a brown ensemble for her daughter's wedding and had a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom's mother was attired in dark green with black accessories and wore a corsage of white mums.
  A reception for 75 guests was held in the church parlors following the ceremony, after which the couple left on a wedding trip to Buffalo. For her going away, the
bride wore a navy blue, ensemble and had a corsage of red roses.
iiiUpon their return they will reside at 312 Seneca street, Manlius.
  The bride attended Manlius high school, and Mr. Danforth was graduated from Fayetteville high sehool after which he served three years in the Marine Corps. Both are employed at the Precision Castings Co. in Fayetteville.
  Among those present from out-of-town were Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Danforth of Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Danforth of Speculator, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Danforth of Endicott, Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Rex of Frankfort, and Mrs. Almeda Knapp of Cazenovia.

  Mr. Post lived in Florida for the past nine years. He was employed by the News Press of Fort Myers. Before he went to Florida, he was a machinist in this area.

  Mrs. Post was born in 1912, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hand. She lived in Phelps for many years where she was a hairdresser. She moved to Florida 22 years ago.
  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George (Lolita) Lingle of North Fort Myers; one son, Richard Post of Fairport; six sisters, Mrs. Harold (Doris) Siegwaltof Englewood, Fla., Mrs. Alberta Cattieu of Dundee, Mrs. Lillian Krager of Waterloo, Mrs. Edna Putman and Mrs. Zella Palmer, both of Phelps, and Mrs. Madeline Harvey of San Bernardino, Calif.; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews

Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Chase of Geneva RD 3 at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, in St Francis Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward B. Simpson, pastor, performed the double ring service. Mrs. Robert Facer of Phelps, played wedding music. Baskets of white gladioli and snapdragons decorated the altar.
  The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a f l o o r  l e ngt h wedding gown of  silk organza with chapel train, fashioned with fitted bodice, short sl e e v e s  a n d round neckline trimmed with embroidered flowers.  H e r three-quarters length veil of nylon tulle was caught to a croen of sequins and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and lillies of the valley.
  Miss Loleta Post of Fort Myers, Fla., was maid of honor for her sister. Mrs Kenneth Pedersen of Phelps, cousin of the bride, Phelps were bridesmaids. [sic]
  Donald Goodman of Oaks Corners was best man. Ushers were: Kenneth Phillips, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Geneva RD 3, and Roger Taney of Oaks Corners.
  An open house followed the ceremony at the home of the bridegroom's parents. A reception followed at York Inn at Phelps for 250 guests from Geneva, Oaks Corners, Newark, Canadaigua, Clyde, Rochester, Fairport, Florida, Pennsylvania and Passachusetts and Phelps.
  After a wedding trip to Cape Cod and through the Adirondack Mountains, the couple are residing at 2 Church St., Apt. 1. both are graduates of phelps Central School, the bridegroom in 1950 and the bride in 1952.
  The bridegroom is engaged in farming and is substitute bus driver at Phelps Central School and the bride is employed at the office of Empire Crafts Corp. in Newark.
