Anna E Colosky
Colosky, Anna E., Vassar, Michigan. Mrs. Colosky, age 82 years, passed away Friday, April 30, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. She was born in Millington Township on Sept. 12, 1921 to the late Roy and Maude (Ellithorpe) German. On November 2, 1940, she married Loyal Colosky and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1991. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, Red Hens Chapter of Millington. Survivors include five sons, Loyal (Arlene) Colosky Jr., Fred (Linda) Colosky, William (Treesa) Colosky, Matt (Linda) Colosky and Richard (Jackie) Colosky, all of Vassar; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don German and Carl German; three sisters, Dorothy Hemingway, Gertrude Tkatch and Mildred Maxwell; several nieces and nephews and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home/Hanlin Chapel, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Pastor David E. Wermuth will officiate and burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.

COLTON — Joanna T. Harter, 75, formerly of Colton, died on the afternoon of April 17 at the home of her daughter, Jennifer Harter, in Wilmington, NC, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Harter was a registered nurse and worked at several hospitals in the Rochester, NY, area before taking employment at a private physician's office in Pittsford, NY, where she resided with her family for 20 years before moving to Colton.
Born June 27, 1933, in Potsdam, NY, daughter of Donald and Shirley Trayser, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1950. She attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Manhattan, graduating with her RN degree in 1953. She married Philip J. Harter of Watertown on December 22, 1956.
Surviving besides her husband, Philip, of Colton, are three daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Harter, Wilmington, NC; Laurie and Stephen House, Hannawa Falls; and Lisa Harter-Saunders, Baldwinsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Judy Harter, San Francisco, CA; and three grandchildren. Her parents, a grandson, Christian House, and a sister, Patricia Farley, died before her.
Mrs. Harter enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, and playing bridge.
There will be no services or calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to the Potsdam Humane Society, Madrid Avenue, Potsdam, NY.

COPENHAGEN, N.Y. — Keitha M. Chapa, 64, of 9940 Route 12, died Sunday evening at his home under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. She underwent a liver transplant nine years ago and had been on dialysis for three years.
Born Nov, 20, 1943, in Watertown, daughter of Niles and Lola Wright Harter, she graduated from Adams Center High School.
She married Guadalupe Chapa on Nov. 17, 1967. Mr. and Mrs. Chapa moved to Houston, Texas, in 1982 and returned to the north country in 198
A previous marriage ended in divorce.
Mrs. Chapa was employed at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital now Samaritan Medical Center and Chapin’s Florist, both of Watertown, for several years in the 1970s and early 1980s.
She was a member of the Parkside Bible Church. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, surviving are three sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Lisa Oatman, Camden, Andrew S. and Tina Chapa, Anniston, Ala., Joseph M. Chapa and his companion, Diana Yauchler and her two children, Copenhagen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Suzette Parker and her companion Ken Clarke, Julie and Joseph Deveines, all of Copenhagen; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Diane Russell, Watertown; and a niece and nephew.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to Lewis Co. Hospice, Renal Care of Northern New York, Washington St., Watertown, or to the American Diabetes Association.
