- Norbert Trautner is the son of Matthew and Teresa Opitz Trautner and was born in Marshall County. He lived with his parents on their farm in McKinley township until 1934. When h is Dad and brothers and sisters moved to Minnesota, Norbert drove a team of horses and wagon from the farm to Roy Lake, Minn. The wagon contained feed for the trip and extra horses were tied to the wagon. Mike Janisch moved at the same time and Norbert Trautner, Bill and Adolph Janisch drove up together to Minnesota, taking 26 horses with them on the trip. The cattle were taken up by truck and a trailer was pulled behind the car which contained some household goods. On the way, the trailer became unhitched and ran into a ditch but no serious damage resulted.
Norbert married Catherine Mary Garland of Windom, Minn. in Jan. 1940. They farmed with his Dad for three years as the other sons were in the service. In 1943 they moved to a farm near Beaulieu, Minn. Later they moved to Bejau, Minn. , where they reside at the present time. Norbert is employed at Mahnomen Concrete and has been with the firm for 18 years. Catherine has been employed in the past at the Detroit Lakes Hospital. Their children are Clarence, Theresa, Darlene, Frances, LeRoy, Lucinda, Catherine Nora.
Clarence is married to Janie Halverson and they have one son, Craig. Clarence is employed at Red Wing, Mn. as electronic technician on Cable TV. Theresa went to Goose Bay, Oregon, after graduating from high school. She married Don Engel and their children are Gary and Timothy. Theresa works for the school in Goose Bay and Don is employed with the highway department. Darlene married Lester Reichenbach and li ves at Isanti, Minnesota. Darlene works for a plastic fabric company and Lester is employed at a sheet metal plant. Their children are Michelle and Kevin. Frances married Jim Gleason of Bismarck, N.D. Frances is a receptionist at the clinic at Bismarck and Jim is a sheet metal plant employee. T hey have two children, Sherry and Troy. LeRoy married Lanell Geijle of Bejau and they have two girls, Stacey and Hallie. They live at Big Lake, Minn. and LeRoy is a salesman for Weathershield Window Company of Wisconsin. Lucinda married Kim Berger and has one girl, Tracy. Catherine works at W .W. Woolworth in Fargo. Lucinda and Kim Berger live at Underwood, N.D. and he is employed at a sheet metal plant. (Bird)

Lennen Naley
Funeral services for Lennen Naley, 84, of Nisswa were held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.
Lennen was born on September 19, 1919 to Magnus L. and Manda A. Naley.
He married Ilene Madison on February 28, 1943 while on military leave.
They had lived in St. Paul for six years, in Eagle Bend for eleven years, in Staples for eighteen years and in their Gull Lake home for seventeen years.
Lennen served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1940-1945 and attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
He held BS and MA degrees in agricultural education from the University of Minnesota. He was an adult farm management instructor at the Staples Technical Institute until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, the Golden "K" Kiwanis in Brainerd, the Planning & Zoning Commission, Lakeshore and a life member of the MEA.
Lennen was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene; his parents, Magus and Manda Naley; and an infant brother, Donald.
He is survived by a sons, Dr. Rolf (Dr. Lilly) and Lowell (Linda); a daughter, LeAnn (Dave) Pottebaum; grandsons, Kyle and Drew Crawford, Alex and Erik (Kirstin); granddaughters, Krysta and Alyssa; great-granddaughter, Ella; and sisters, Margery Schmidt and Frances Finnay.
