Lassellsville--Mrs Marjorie Satterlee, 66, widow of Chris Satterlee, died yesterday in Little Falls Hospital
She was born in Mayfield, daughter of John and Minnie Kline Cross. She was married to Mr Satterlee in 1916. He died in 1955
The couple operated a grocery store in Ilion for a number of years and then a fuel business in St Johnsville. The couple established their home here where Mrs Satterlee was a member and organist of the Methodist Church and also of its WSCS
She leaves two daughters, Mrs Richard (Helen) Leek, Lassellsville, and Mrs Alvin (Dorcas)Conklin, Ilion; her mother, Mrs Minnie Bower, St Johnsville and a brother Lauren Cross, St Johnsville
The funeral will be a 2 Sunday from the Lull Funeral Home, St Johnsville withe the Rev Charels Montgomery, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in St Johnsville Cemetery

St Johnsville--Mrs Helen M leek, 55, of Lassellsville, wife of Richard Leek, died yesterday in Johnstown Hospital after a short illness
She was born in Utica, the daughter of Chris and Marjorie Cross Satterlee. She graduate from St Johnsville High School and for several years operated the Satterlee Fuel Co for her father. She was last employed by the Little Falls Felt Shoe Co in St Johnsville. She married Richard Leek in 1939
Mrs Leek was a member of the Lassellsville United Methodist Church, the St Johnsville Chapter of the DAR and the St Johnsville Eastern Star Chapter. Besides her Husband, she is survived by a sister Mrs Alvin (Dorcas) Conkling, of Ilion
The funeral will be at 1 Saturday from the lull Funeral Home, with burial in St Johnsville Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight. An Easter Star service will be conducted at 7:30 tonight in the funeral home.

St Johnsville--Loren C Cross, 73, of 17 Washington St, a widely known Mohawk Valley orchestra leader for more than 30 years, died Sunday night in Nollison. Dr Aubert Sentochnik, coroners physician, said death was due to a heart attack
Mr Cross was born in Mayfield, son of John A and Helen M Cline Cross. He spent most of his life in the St Johnsville area. He played the violin and bass and for many years had conducted his own orchestra. The group played at many social functions throughout the area
He was also a bookkeeper and auto salesman and retired last October after 25 years with Capace Motor Sales in St Johnsville. He attended St John's Reformed Church and was a member and past roaster of St Johnsville Masonic Lodge. His marriage to Nellie M Nellis was in 1920 in St Johnsville
Beside his wife he leaves a son , Loren N Cross of Las Vegas, Nev, a stepdaughter, Mrs Edwin (Dorothy) Maier of Fort Plane

Inez M Crocker Cole, age 91, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007, at the Methodist County House in Greenville, DE
She had been an active resident at the County House for over 20 years until a recent illness
Born in 1915, she was the daughter of William John and Celestia Melisa Bolster Crocker of Ilion, New York. He husband of 53 years, Starr L Cole, passed away in 1987. He was the former music director of the Mount Pleasant High School District. As an accomplished vocalist and pianist, Inez had been active in musical activities in her hometown of Iliion, as well as actively participating in her husband's church choirs while raising a family of 4 children. she was also talented in many different creative endeavors such as died flower cultivation and arranging, quilting, painting and sewing
She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Dr Dennis G Cole and Barbara of Erie, PA, Janet Cranmer and Carl of West Chester, PA, Kathleen Wandersee and Edward of Chadds Ford, PA, and Jon S Cole and Sue of Clifton Park, NY. In addition she leaves 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren ranging in age from 19 years to 2 weeks.
Burial will be private.

Ilion--Richard H Maurice, 65, of 37 Woodland Ave, a retired Ilion mail carrier, died Thursday, June 2. 1983
He was born on February 17, 1918 in Ilion and graduated from Ilion High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. On May 11, 1946 he was married to Helen Bunce in Ilion. Mr Maurice was a member of the Ilion Methodist Church
Survivors include his wife Helen, one daughter Kathleen of Ilion; three sons, Kenneth of Rochester, Keith of Penn, and Kevin of Ilion; a grandson Daniel of Rochester; two sister, Mrs Esther Williams of Long Island, Mrs Starr (Inez) Cole of Penn; also several nieces and nephews
Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer

Lexington, SC —
Audrey Kraft, of Lexington, SC, formerly of St. Johnsville, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2011, after a brief illness.
She was born in Little Falls on May 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mable (Carr) Windecker. She was married to Leland Kraft on March 11, 1944, until his passing on Dec. 8, 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Smith and her husband, David, of Lexington, SC. She also had three grandchildren, Wendy Thomas, Kyle Smith and Kevin Smith. She also had five great-grandchildren all in the Carolinas, Joshua and Alyssa Smith, Maverick Smith, and Hailee and Taryn Thomas. She is also survived by a brother, Russell Windecker, of Fort Plain.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Smith and Edna Cool, and two brothers, Walter and John Windecker.
There will be a memorial service on April 8, 2011, at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC. Interment will take place at a later date in Orange Park, Fla.

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Miss Audrey Windecker daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Windecker and Leland Kraft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Kraft, of Shells Bush, were married in St Pauls Lutheran church at 2 Saturday. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Franklin J. Shweiger. Both families are residents of Snells Bush. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The church was decorated with snapdragons and carnations, with two large altar bouquets, and baskets of blossoms elsewhere in the church.
The bride wore a white satin gown, with sweetheart neckline and with short puffed sleeves and a long train. Her fingertip length veil was of tulle and Irish point lace, with headdress of pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
The matron of honor waa the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. Kathleen Windecker of Indian Castle. She wore a gown of pink embroidered cotton with sweetheart neckline, and short puffed sleeves. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Edna Cool, sister of the bride, and Miss Pat Hart and Miss Helen Klock of Little Falls. The bridesmaids were attired in powder blue gowns, similar to that of the matron of honor. The attendants wore Dutch style hats with tulle veils, gathered at the sides with small flowers in colors matching their gowns. All carried bouquets of pink aad white carnations.
The best man waa Earl Burkdorf of Snells Bush, and the ushers George Kraft, a cousin of the bridegroom, Avery Van Slyke and Donald Shuster.
The organist, Miss Edna Quackenbush. played the traditional wedding music and Herbert Kraft, brother of the bridegroom, sang "O Promise Me."
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the home of the bride's parents. The bridal table was set for 16, including the parents of the contracting couple, Rev. and Mrs. Schweiger and members of the wedding party. Decorations were in pink and white. The reception waa attended by flfty other relatives and cloae friends from St Johnsville, Amsterdam, Fonda, Broadalbin and Rochester.
The newlyweds will make their residence in Snells Bush, where Mr. Kraft is the owner and operater of a farm.
The bride'a gift to her attendants were of costume Jewelry.
Mrs. Kraft ia a graduate of Little Falls High school in the class of 1942, and formerly was employed by the F. W. Woolworth Co. in that city.
Pre-nuptial events for the bride included showers given by Miss Helen Klock. Miss Pat Hart. Mrs. Wesley Kraft, Mrs. Raymond Bolster and Mrs. Roy Snell, Mrs. John Windecker. Mrs. Walter Windecker, Mrs. Edna Cool and Mrs. Arthur Mosher.

Oppenheim, N.Y. — Mr. Leonard C. Young, 82, of Oppenheim, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, Dec. 5, 2010, at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation Center, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1928, the son of the late Chauncey and Edna (Clemons) Young. He was educated in Oppenheim schools. On June 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Gray at the Lassellsville Methodist Church. They shared a blessed union of 62 loving years.
At an early age, Mr. Young worked for Fred Clemons Lumber Yard. For many years, Mr. Young was employed as a salesperson and machine setter for Compo Shoe Machine Company and held a similar position at Beech-Nut Corporation. He retired in 1985. After his retirement, Mr. Young worked many years at the Oppenheim Transfer Station. He was also elected to the Oppenheim-Ephratah Central school board in 1962. In 1970, he was elected president of the school board and served in that capacity until he resigned in 1980.
Mr. Young was of the Methodist faith. He also liked to work outdoors and go hunting. Leonard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed dearly by them.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy, at home; his three loving children and their spouses, Alan Young and his fiancée, Joanne Kumpan, of Oppenheim, Karen Mettler and her husband, Fred, of Lassellsville, and David Young and his wife, Teri, of Oppenheim; eight special grandchildren, Heather Young, Melissa Young, Nicole Ellis, Ashley Mettler, LeAnne Rubas, Shaun Brown, Chauncey Young and Emily Young; four cherished great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Fitzpatrick and her husband, Leo, of St. Johnsville; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, G. Arthur Young and Grant Young; and a sister, Betty Montana.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf St., Dolgeville. Funeral services for Mr. Young will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 12 Van Buren St., Dolgeville, with Rev. Leonard Byerly officiating. Interment will be in Dolgeville Cemetery following the funeral, where he will be laid to rest.
In lieu of floral gifts, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Department, 6786 State Highway 29, St. Johnsville, NY 13452. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Miss Dorothy Gray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gray. RD 2, Little Falls, and Leonard Young, son of Mrs. Edna Young of Oppenheim and the late Chauncey Young were married on Saturday afternoon, at 2 in the Lassellsville Methodist church. The double ring ceremony was preformed by Rev. Frederick Wood.
The bride given in marriage by her father wore a gown of white imported net, over white satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. Her fingertip veil was caught to a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried white roses.
The young couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Montana of Lassellsville. Mrs. Montana, who is a sister of the bridegroom, wore a baby blue satin gown with hat and gloves to match. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Judith Gray, sister of the bride, was flower girl, and wore a dress of dotted net over white taffeta, with a low cut neck which was trimmed with babybreath. She carried a basket of mixed garden flowers.
The ring bearer was Arthur Young, brother of the groom, and ushers were Grant Young, another brother of the groom, and Harold Gray, brother of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a receprion was held in the Lasselsville community hall. Mr. and Mrs. Young presented their attendants with personal gifts.
Guests were present from Washington, D. C., Watertown, Seneca Falls, St. Johnsville, Dolgeville, Little Falls, Johnstown, Gloversville, Ilion and Fort plain.
The newlyweds left for a trip to Niagara Falls, the bride choosing for her going-away outfit a street dress of ecru color, with matching accessories, and a coursage of red and white roses.
Upon their return, the young couple will reside in Oppenheim.
Mrs. Young attended Little Falls and Dolgeville high schools, and has been employed in the St. Johnsville plant of the Little Falls Felt Shoe Company. The groom attended the Oppenheim-Ephratah cnetreal school, and is now employed by Fred Clemons, Jr., general contractor in Lasselsville.

St Johnsville--Mrs Audrey Beth Snell, 31, of 18 Center St, wife of Floyd Snell, was killed early yesterday in a one-car accident in the Town of Manheim East of Little Falls. Herkimer County Coroner Gilbert Upright said cause of death was a fractured skull.
She was born in St Johnsville, daughter of Kenneth and Frances Cool. She attended local schools
Besides her husband she leaves a son , Kenneth Hank; three daughter, Sheryl Hank, Doreen Hank, and Frances Snell, all at home; a sister Mrs Patricia Johnson of Lassellsville
The funeral will be at 10:30 Saturday from the Smith Funeral Home with burial in the St Johnsville Cemetery

Mrs Snell was found dead in the twisted wreckage of her car which had hit the foundation of a burned out house and tree near Timmerman Road on Route 5. State Police estimated the accident occurred between 3:30 and 4 am but went undiscovered until after dawn

Jennie L. Kretser, 82, of Rome, went home to her Lord, Wednesday, January 5, 2011. She was born September 17, 1928, in Rome, the daughter of Angelo and Filomena Pastore Perfetti.
Jennie was a graduate of Rome Free Academy.
On February 28, 1946 she was united in marriage to Elbert Mosher Sr. in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Mosher died October 21, 1962.
On October 3, 1970, Jennie married Edward P. Kretser in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Kretser died June 20, 2007.
She loved to travel in the U.S. and abroad, especially Italy. Jennie enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters and spouses, Audry (Dave) Dabro, Waterville, Patricia (Leo) Boulerice, Rome, a son and spouse, Elbert Jr. (Ellen) Mosher, Lexington, S.C., and a sister and spouse, Olga (Fred) Peploski. Also surviving are grandchildren Kristen and Aaron Meddaugh, Waterville, Michael and Katie Cavanaugh, Waterville, Lake and Blake Blinebry, Deansboro, Gretchen and Lee Wessinger, Simpsonville, S.C., Rebecca and Nicholas Smith, North Grafton, Mass., Melinda and Cliff Rodriguez, Muldoon, S.C., Luke and Megan Boulerice, Rome; Taylor Boulerice, Rome, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and James Vaccaro, brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony Perfetti, Albert and Josephine Perfetti, James and Mary Perfetti, and Joseph and Helena Perfetti.
Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
