Marriage Notes for Ambrose Neal Gleason and Sophia B Jackson
- Wedding Announcment (Utica Herald-Dispatch, NY, Wednesday, January 10, 1912)
Herkimer. Jan 10 - Announcement is made of the marriage of Ambrose Gleason of this village and Miss Sophie B. Jackson of North llion, the ceremony having taken place Monday evening at tbe parsonage of the First Methodist Church, the Rev. J. A. Chapman officiating.
- Divorce (Syracuse Journal, NY, Thursday, June 4, 1925)
Sensational revelations of how two homes were wrecked were recited to Justice Jerome L. Cheney in double divorce action in Special Term, Thursday, in which Mrs. Sophia Gleason, 453 Gortland av. is seeking a divorce decree from Ambrose N. Gleason, former member of the Keith Theater Orchestra, and Claude S. Anthony, a printer, is asking a divorce from Helen Anthony.
Mrs. Gleason is naming Mrs. Anthony as corespondent in her suit, and Anthony names Gleason in his action, all as the result of a bit of sleuthing done by Mrs. Gleason, her sister and her sister's "boy friend," early in the morning of May 4 last. Mrs. Gleason asks suitable alimony for the support of herself and her son, Walter, a boy of 10. Anthony asks that the court give him custody of their child, a girl of four. L. Earl Higbee appears for Mrs. Gleason, and Ray B. Smith for Anthony. A. Fairfax Montague is ąppearlng for both defendants, filing a generał denial, but the defense was conflned to a brief cross examlnation of some of the witnesses and no witnesses were called to refute the charges of misconduct made by the plaintiffs.
Her suspicions aroused by her husband's late homecoming, Mrs. Gleason set out to trap him the testimony disclosed. Information she obtained to the effect that Gleason was unduly friendly with Mrs. Anthony provided the clue and, enlisting the aid of her sister and her "boy friend" and using the family car, they drove to Delaware st., parking where they could keep an eye on a house at 505.
The sister of the plaintiff testified after a vigil of an hour, they observed Gleason coming down the street with a woman who later proved to be Mrs. Anthony, they say. They watched them enter the house and a few minutes later saw a light appear in the Anthony apartment, second floor front. After a half-hour they obtained admission to the house and went to the apartment.
They rapped for admission and after a time said the door was opened. Mrs. Anthony was in very scanty attire, witness sald, and Gleason was in a small clothes room. Mrs. Anthony's four-year old daughter was in a crib in the room, witness said.
Members of the family who conducted the rooming house were awakened and called to the Anthony apartment where Mrs. Anthony and Gleason were ordered to leave at once. The proprietor and his wife were sworn, corroborating the testimony of the sister and her friend regardlng the discoveries.
During the recital of the raid upon the room, Mrs. Gleason, occupying a seat in the rear of the court room, burst into tears. Gleason sat unmoved at the table with his counsel and Mrs. Anthopy remained outside the court room.

Newspaper Article (The Leader-Herald, Gloversville and Johnstown, NY, Thursday, May 12, 1955)
Mr. and Mrs. Amon Young of Johnstown RD 2 (Caroga Lake Road) believe they have a rather unusual flock of chickens. Twice within a week they have discovered a double egg laid by one of the chickens. The larger shelled egg contained e second, small, but perfect egg.
Janet and Daniel Young, children • of the couple, are rather amazed over the unusual incident.
Last week Mrs. Young started to break an egg to use in cooking. She was somewhat surprised when she broke the shell to find there was a second perfect egg inside the larger one.
Yesterday she discovered the second egg.
Inside the first shell there is a perfect egg with yolk and the white part. Floating around in the white was the second egg, rather little. She reports that the second egg, although about the size of a small pullets egg, was also perfect with yolk and the white.
The Youngs regard the incident as rather unusual. They never encountered an experience quite equal to this one in so far as their chickens are concerned.
The article included a photograph of the Janet and Daniel with the second of these unusual eggs.
