  Clinton G. Dinehart, 81, of Gloversville, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
   Born Aug. 17, 1917, in Scotch Bush, he was the son of George and Alice Cretser Dinehart. He lived in the Town of Johnstown and attended Dolgeville Central School.
   He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force.
   Mr. Dinehart was a superintendent at Johnstown Tanning Corp. prior to his retirement.
   He was of the Free Methodist faith and a former member of the Pine Tree Bowling League.
   Mr. Dinehart married Helen Weaver April 29, 1937.
   In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. Dinehart of Hopewell Junction and Judith A. Dinehart of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Blanche Monk of Scotch Bush; a brother, Robert Dinehart of Herkimer; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc. 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Charles W. Saum officiating.
   Interment will be in Fical Cemetery, Scotch Bush.

  Helen Dinehart, 82, of Flat Rock, NC, passed away on May 8, 2004 from complications of congestive heart failure. She was born on April 23, 1922 in Scotch Bush, NY but moved to Gloversville, NY at the age of four where she attended public school, married and raised her family.
   She was a glove maker who worked out of her home for several different companies in the area including Goodheim, Rubin and Sons and George Johns. Her gloves were distributed and sold throughout the world.
   Her hobbies and interests included music, sewing, her pets, card playing, bowling. She was a member of the Pinetree Bowling League for many years and acquired friendships through the sport that lasted for more than 40 years.
   She moved to a retirement community in Flat Rock, NC three years ago where she made new friends and enjoyed life in the western Carolina mountains.
   She was predeceased by an infant brother and sister; her parents, Lester and Amanda Weaver; and her husband of 61 years, Clinton Dinehart.
   She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Dinehart of Hopewell Junction, NY and Judith Dinehart of Savannah, GA; and her beloved dog Sassy.
   There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. The Rev. Timothy Behrendt of the First Universalist Society, Salisbury Center, NY will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fical Cemetery, Scotch Bush.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231-4596.

  HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Mr. Robert Earl “Bob” Dinehart, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Valley Health Services in Herkime
  Bob was born on June 12, 1924, in Lasselsville, New York, the son of the late Alice Cretser Dinehart and George Dinehart. He was married to the former Ruby Colorito on February 9, 1946, a union that lasted until his beloved Ruby passed away March 15, 2001.
   In his early years, Bob worked on the railroad in the St. Johnsville/Canajoharie area. He then moved his family to Whittier, California, in 1959, where he was employed by Bakers, and Confectioners Co. in Los Angeles, until the family returned to Herkimer in June of 1968. He was then employed by Mohawk Data Sciences Corp. until his retirement in 1990.
  Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping with his wife and children in the Adirondacks. Bob was of the Free Methodist faith.
  He is survived by three daughters and three sons: daughter, Carol Kalem and husband, Carl, of Mohawk; daughter, Dolores Edick and husband, Ron, of Frankfort; daughter, Terri Mucitelli and husband, Arthur, of Mohawk; son, Robert Dinehart and wife, Debbie, of Stewartville, Minnesota; son, James and companion, Sheila Nunno, of Herkimer; son, Richard and wife, Dawn, of Queensbury, New York; and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Monk, of Lasselsville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Besides his mother and father and loving wife, Ruby, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Clinton Dinehart, of Gloversville; a sister, Norma Bills, of Lasselsville; and a great-granddaughter, Christina Marie Schloop, of Newport.
   Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, will be on Thursday (today), December 3, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. His funeral will commence at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 4, from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Gleason of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Johnsville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his wife.    SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Funeral services for Albert G. Bills, 52, of Middle Grove, former greenskeeper at the Saratoga Golf Club, who died Wednesday in Utica, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Kark and Tunison Funeral Home.
  Born in the Town of Edinburg, he was a veteran of World War II.
  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Norma Dinehart Bills; one son, Jonathan Bills of Middle Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Wilcox and Mrs. Florence Denton of Northville; four brothers, John Bills of Middle Grove, Leonard, Richard and Asa Bills, all of Northville, and several nieces and nephews.
  The Rev. Donald Meyers, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church of Schenectady, will officiate. Burial will be in Middle Grove Cemetery.

  Rev. Seymour Lawton of Northville performed the ceremony assisted by Rev. Floyd Wright of Scotch Bush.
  Mr. and Mrs. Milburn Monk, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, were attendants.
  The bride wore a gray suit with accessories of red and a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Monk wore gray with navy blue. Her corsage was of yellow pompons.
  A reception was held at the community hall in Lassellsville immediately following the ceremony with about 125 guests attending from the surrounding area.

  Doris M. Smith, 82, of Johnstown passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her family by her side.
  She was born in Poughkeepsie on March 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Emerson and Marion Fisher Miles.
  Doris worked for many years as a self employed housekeeper.
  She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Scotch Bush.
  Mrs. Smith was a past President of the R.G.L. Fire Department Auxiliary.
  Doris enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious homemade rolls. She was a avid reader of Amish books and Romance books from the Johnstown Library and also collected white milk glass over the years.
  She is survived by three sons Steven Clyde Smith of Johnstown, John Paul Smith (Nancy) of Scotch Bush and Edward Emerson Smith (Mary) of Liverpool, one daughter Julie Cody (Dennis) of Dolgeville; two brothers Ron Miles (Cathy) of St. Johnsville and Fred Miles of Poughkeepsie; two sisters Peggy Miles of St. Johnsville and Linda Welch of St. Johnsville; four grandchildren Megan Smith, Tommy Smith, Amber Beau and Hailey Howe; five great grandchildren Nicholas, Natalie, Darian, Daphney and Jackson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris wanted to thank Patty Johnson, Jane Hall, Lanny Orr and Larry Keller for their friendship and support.
  In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Clyde Smith whom she married in 1954 and whom passed in 2008.
  Interment will be in Fical Cemetery, Lassellsville in the Spring.

  SCOTCH BUSH-Mlss Doris M. Miles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Miles, was married to Clyde Smith, son of Alonzo Smith, Saturday afternoon at the Lassellsville Methodist Church. The Rev. Roger Williams, pastor, performed the ceremony.
  The bride's gown was of white satin with a chantilly lace bodice: Lace paneling in the skirt formed a cathedral train. The cap of chantilly lace and irridcscent sequins had a fingertip Illusion veil edged in lace.  Escorted by, her father, the bride carried red roses and white mums mounted on a prayerbook.
  The matron of honor, Mrs. Vernie Quackenbush, a cousin of the bride, wore a blue taffeta, strapless gown with matching bolero, lace trimmed. The matching headpiece was of nylon net and she carried a colonial bouquet of white mums and yellow roses.
  Misses Geraldine Cromer and Marlene May were bridesmaids. Their gowns were nile green and orchid respectively, of 'taffeta with matching bolero jackets. They carried bouquets similar to that of the matron of honor.
  Miss Peggy Miles was Junior bridesmaid in a gown of yellow taffeta with matching cap. She carried a colonial bouquet.
   Flower girls were Dale and Nancy Smith, nieces of the bridegroom. They wore gowns of blue taffeta and net with matching headpieces and carried hand-crocheted baskets of white mums. Frederick Miles, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer.
  The brdiegroom's brother, Harold Smith, was best man. Donald Cromer and Vernie Quackenbush served
as ushers.
   A two-piece dress of blue shantung with matching accessories was worn by the bride's, mother with a corsage of white mums. Mrs. Cyrus Van Slyke, organist of the First Methodist Church of St. Johnsvllle played recital prior to the ceremony and Mrs. Earle Spaar was vocalist.
  A reception for about 100 relatives and friends was held at the Lassellsville Community Hall. The newlyweds cut a four-tiered cake.
  The bride wore a blue taffeta dress with matching accessories, blue plaid coat and red rose corsage for traveling. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the couple will reside at 115 Washington Street, Johnstown.
  Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and employed with J. J. Newberry, Johnstown. The bridegroom attended the same school and was recently discharged from the Army after almost two years service in France. He is employed with the White Mop Wringer Company, Fultonville.
  A dinner was held Friday night at the bride's home for attendants, who were presented with gifts.
  Four showers have been given in honor of Mrs. Smith, by Mrs. Quackenbush, Misses Cromer and May, former classmates and the Rockwood-Caroga and Lassellsville Fire Department.

  The bride wore a white taffeta dress with net skirt, ballerina length dress with net skirt, ballerina length. She carried a bouquet of white pom-poms. Her attendant, Mrs. Raymond Cromer, Jr., wore pink taffeta and carried pink roses.
  The best man was Raymond Cromer, Jr.
  Mrs. Cromer, mother of the bride, wore blue taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of roses. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a blue silk dress with navy accessories, and also wore a corsage of roses.
  A reception for 125 people was held at the Community Hall in Lassellsvilie at which time the couple cut a four tiered wedding cake. The hall was decorated with pink and blue.
   Following a honeymoon of undetermined destination, they will reside in Scotch Bush.
  The bride is a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and is employed at the Crescendre Glove Co. in Johnstown.
   The groom attended Oppenheim Ephratah Central School and is employed with his father in the logging business.
   Personal gifts were given to the attendants. Guests were present from Ilion, Norwich, Gloversville, Johnstown, Meco, and Ford’s Bush.
  The bride was a guest at a variety shower given by relatives in the community house recently.

  ST. JOHNSVILLE - Ivan Walrath. 75. of RD 2. St. Johnsville, died Monday afternoon. February 10,1986, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, where he had been a patient since January 14, 1986.
  He was bom in the Town of St. Johnsville June 7, 1910, son of Charles A. Walrath and Elsie Cool.
  He was a member of the Grace Congregational United Church of Christ He was a member of the 2-F Club of the church. He was a member of the St. Johnsville Senior Citizens, the B P.O. Elks No. 42. Little Falls, and the St Johnsville Auxiliary Police. For 43 years he was employed by the United States Postal Service at the St. Johnsville Post Office, retiring in 1975. He mamed Frances Robinson in 1933. who survives.
  Besides his wife, he is survived by one son. Byron Walrath of St. Johnsville; four daughters. Mrs. Joan Chester. Hamilton. NY. Miss Nancy Walrath. Syracuse. NY. Mrs Stanley (Vicki) Garrett of Chittenango. NY. Mrs. Robert (Emma Jane) Blair of Chittenango. NY; one sister. Mrs. Bemice Circhinllo. St. Johnsville; 12 grandchildren: several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be Thursday at 11 am. at the Lull Funeral Home, 2014 Kingsbury Ave . St. Johnsville. with the Rev. Bowen Bowen Hawkins, Interim Pastor of the Grace Church, officiating.   Mr. Walrath was a member of Grace Congregational  United Church of Christ, a charter member of the H. C. Smith Benefit Club and was a bowler.
  Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Carol) Mikilk; a sister, Mrs. Anthony (Bernice) Circhillo and a brother, Ivan Walrath, all of St. Johnsville.
  The funeral will be at 2 Friday from the Capece Funeral Home. Burial will be in West st. Johnsville Cemetery.

  They were attended by the bride's twin sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Bogardus of this village. The father of the bride and Miss Ethel Quackenbush of this village also witnessed the ceremony.
  The bride wore brown wool trimmed with maroon silk, while the matron of honor wore olive green. Mr. and Mrs. Fical will reside in Little Falls, where the bridegroom is employed.

  Robert A. Becker, age 78, of Johnstown passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at home following a long illness. He was born on November 26, 1930, in Gloversville, a son of the late Charles Becker and Geraldine Rulison Becker. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was first employed at Shepard Oil Co. Inc. for 16 years and in 1977, he started employment as a diesel mechanic for Canary Classic Corp. of Gloversville until his retirement in 2002. Mr. Becker was of the Catholic Faith; he was a member of the Johnstown Loyal Order of the Moose and also several local motorcycle clubs.
  On November 1, 1952, he was united in marriage to Ilean A. Nabors Becker and she passed away on June 12, 2004.
  Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Putman of Johnstown, and Carol Neri of Johnstown; three sisters, Marion Gifford and her husband Charles of Gloversville, Betty Tranowiscz and her husband William of Glens Falls, and Eleanor Sawyer of Glens Falls; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wilcox and her husband Ryan, Jeffrey Putman, and Sarah Jones and her husband Phil; great-grandchildren, Reegan, Molly, Caitlin, and Sabrina; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Sam Becker, Richard Becker, and Charles Becker.
  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown with the Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams presiding. Friends and family may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.   Mrs. Raymond Woodcock, 44, RD 1. Gloversville, died last night at 9:30 In her home. She had been ill for several months.
  Mrs. Woodcock waa bom in Gloversville and always lived in this vicinity.
  Survivors besides her husband are six daughters, Mrs. Carl Chamberlain, Mrs. Frank Van Schuyler, Helen Richards, Marlene, Marylyn and Lorette Woodcock of this city; two sons, Clarence Richards and Allen Woodcock; her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Rulison, Gloversville; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Edel, Bleecker Stage; Mrs. Howard Lee and Mrs. Ernest Farhart Gloversville; two brothers, Vernon of this city, and Richard of Johnstown; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
  The body waa removed to the Eugene Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Avenue. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

  Clarence D. Richards, 40, died at 2 yesterday morning at his home in West Bush. He had been ill for one week.
  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the Walrath & Bushouer funeral home, 51 Fremont street Rev. Fred L. Decker, D. D., pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery.
  Mr. Richards was born in the Town of Johnstown and always resided in that vicinity where he was occupied as a farmer. He was a member of the Methodist church in West Bush and well known.
  The survivors are his wife, Violet; three daughters, Helen, Irene, and Pauline; one son, Clarence, and his mother, Mrs. Laverna Richards, all of West Bush; three brothers, Robert of Broadalbin; Poland and Howard of Gloversviile: one sister, Mrs. Phillip Edel of Bull Run and several nieces and nephews.

  Mrs. Viola Edel, 61, of Bleecker Stage, died at 10:30 Saturday morning in Littauer Hospital where she had been a patient for six days. She had been in failing health for a week.
   Mrs. Edel was born in Gloversville on Oct. 9,1910. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
  Mrs. Edel is survived by her husband, Paul Edel; three sons, Arthur Edel and John Edel, both of Gloversville and George Edel of Fort Collins, Colo.; three daughters, Miss Alice Edel, Mrs. William Walker and Mrs. Donald Wyllie, all of Gloversville, two sisters, Mrs. Howard Lee and Mrs. Vera Farhart, both of Gloversville; a brother, Richard Rulison of Johnstown; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Miss Robin Mae Farhart, daughter of Mrs. Vera Farhart of Phelps Street and the late Ernest Farhart, became the bride of William A. Naish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred T. Naish, 13 Sixth Street, at 11 Saturday at the home of the birde's mother. Rev. Sherwood Carver, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, performed the double ring ceremony in a garden under an arbor decorated with summer flowers.
  The bride, given in marriage by Charles Van Horn of Gloversville RD, wore a white full length gown of georgette over taffeta with a fitted bodice, controlled skirt and long puffed sleeves. The portrait neckline was adorned with scalloped venise lace. From her crown of orange blossoms accented with clusters of pearls and crystals fell an elbow length bouffant veil.
  She carried a colonial bouquet of baby red roses accenting the center.
  Mrs. Sally Van Horn was the matron of honor for her sister. She wore a full length gown with scoop neckline and half length sleeves. The fitted bodice of the gown was of apple green crepe and the gathered crepe skirt was emerald green.
  The bodice was accented with thin green velvet bow at the empire waist with two crepe panels trailing from the skirt. She carried an open bouquet of ferns and a single yellow baby rose. A yellow ribbon with streamers held the bouquet.
  Mrs. Suzanne Farhart of Gloversville, the bride's sister-in-law, was an attendant. She wore a sleeveless full length gown of pink chiffon over taffeta with a scoop neckline. An accent bow of pink crepe completed the fully gathered skirt at the side.
  She carried an open bouquet of ferns and a single baby pink rose. A pink bow with streamers held the bouquet.
  Frank J. Van Skiver of Edinburg, cousin of the bride, was the best man. Ushers were Ernest Farhart of Gloversville, brother of the bride; and Nathan Van Horn of Gloversville, the bride's brother-in-law.
  The mother of the bride wore a street, length dress of pink slipper satin with long pink lace sleeves. The cuffs of the sleeves were of pink slipper satin and silver braid.
  A stand-up collar with silver braid completed the dress. Her outfit was worn with a sleeveless pink lace open coat, with silver braid trimming at the opening of the coat. She wore matching accessories and a deep red corsage with baby pink rose buds.
  The mother of the bridegroom wore a floor length empire waist dress with a white polyester knit bodice and high white collar. The gathered skirt was black with white polka dots and a black patent leather belt completed the empire waist.
  She wore matching accessories and a corsage matching that of the bride's mother.
  After the ceremony, a garden reception was held at the home of the bride's mother for close friends and relatives. Guests attended from Gloversville, Johnstown, Edinburg and Rochester.
  For a wedding trip to Lake George, the bride wore a sleeveless white shell with a short sleeved fitted jacket of cocoa brown corduroy with matching flared pants. Her corsage, from the center of the bridal bouquet, was red baby roses with a red ribbon.
  After the honeymoon, the couple will reside at the Ko-zy Mobile Home Court, Gloversville RD.
  Attendants were presented gifts at a rehearsal held at the home of the bride's mother Friday night. A bridal shower was held Aug. 12 at the home of the matron of honor.
  The bride is a June graduate of Gloversville High School and is employed by White Modell at the Pyramid Mall in Johnstown.
  The bridegroom is a 1968 graduate of Gloversville High School and is employed at Nichols Department Store. He is also a member of the 205th Light Equipment Maintenance of the National Guard, Gloversville.
