MRS. DIANA GETMAN
Mrs. Diana Getman dies very suddenly of heart trouble at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eliza Shepard, Sunday evening Nov. 20, 1910, aged 82 years. She has resided in Hicks for the past 30 years
She is survived by one son, F. M. Lovejoy of Stotts City, Missouri, and two daughters, Mrs. Josephene Jordan of Speedsville, and Mrs. Eliza Shepard of this place, besides a number of grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Mr. Shepard of The Rural Mission officiting.
Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

MRS. KATIE GETMAN
Mrs. Katie Getman, an old and respected resident of this village, after a long illness slept peacefully away on the morning of Nov. 25, at the advanced age of 80 years, 8 months and 17 days. She was born in Chemung Co., N.Y., and came to Wisconsin 44 years ago, living in this vicinity nearly ever since. She was the mother of six children. Those surviving are Lafayette Getman, of Harvard, Ill.; David Getman. of Forest Lake, Minn.; Mrs. A. H. Wilson, of Stevens Point, and James and Luther, of Hancock. One son died about 40 years ago. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Friday afternoon, Rev. Rowe preaching, and interment was made in the family lot in Hancock cemetery.
The children wish to express thanks to the good friends who were so kind to their mother during her long illness, also for the flowers, singing and other favors at the burial rites.

Justice Leon C. Rhodes directed a verdict of $35 fpr the plaintiff in Supreme Court Friday afternoon in the action brought to recover $2,500 in Liberty Bonds and several articles of jewelry, claimed by Zalora Getman as administrator of the estate of Mary Getman.
Mrs. Ina Feagles, niece of the decedent, has the Liberty Bonds and jewelry and will be allowed to keep them, according to the verdict directed by Justice Rhodes. The plaintiff contended that the money in question had been converted by the defendant to her own use illegally, while the latter claimed the bond and jewelry were gifts made before death of Miss Getman.
The $35 is the value of a clock which it is said Mary Getman gave to Ina Feagles but which has never been moved. It is therefore not a legal gift. Attorney George King, represented the plaintiff and Attorney Higbee of Malpass and Higbee of Syracuse, the defendant.

- For Almira and Isaac, I have a lot of records from the national archives. I obtained copies a number of years ago. There is a lot of info including many signed affidavits regarding a widow's pension for Almira after Isaac had passed. The final note in that file is Almira Folnsbee dropped from the pension roles because of her death on 12 Sep 1903. Also in these notes are many signatures and spelling of the name as "Folnsbee", even an affidavit that this is the correct spelling vs. other variants. Affidavits included from Isaac Folnsbee, Almira Folnsbee (with an "X" mark), Martha Widger, Andrew Getman, Zalora Getman, Martha Goldsmith (Widger), and William Cortright all with signatures. Also included is a "Secondary Proof of Marriage" for Isaac Folnsbee (deceased) and Almira Getman Dated Nov 1892 confirming that they were married by Rev. Windsor Brown at Van Etten, County of Chemung, 14 Dec 1865. My guess is that Almira could not write as she has an "X" mark for signature. Almira's 1891 Affidavit lists her age as 63. While I have many documents on this matter, none list Almira's birthdate. (David Vine, Aug. 2012)
