Mrs. Marjorie Cromer Hudson, 24, wife of Harold Hudson, passed away last night about 9:80 at her home, 81 Cayadutta street, aftar an illness of two years. Her condition had been considered serious for two weeks and death, due to a complication of diseases, was not unexpected.
Mrs. Hudson was born in the Town of Johnstown, October 10, 1914, the daughter of William Cromer and Edith Frederick. She had been a resident of Johnstown for twenty-two years.
She was a member of the Baptist church.
Mrs. Hudson was a young woman who was a popular member of the circles in which she moved, and her passing will cause sorrow amoug her host of friends.
The survivors, besides her husband, are one daughter, Betty Ann; one sister, Mrs. Richard Becker, Gloversville; one brother, Donald Cromer, Johnstown; her parents and her grandmother, Mrs. Elisabeth Cromer.
The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2. The Rev. Harlow W. Parsons of the Baptist church will officiate and burial will be made in the Johnstown cemetery.

JOHNSTOWN Vivian A. Cromer, 78, of Johnstown, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Wesley and Gwendolyn Angus Wilder. Vivian was born in a farmhouse on the Fonda-Johnstown Road that was built by her great-grandfather.
As a child, she attended the Fonda Methodist Church.
The family moved to Pittsfield, Mass., when her father purchased a bakery. They moved back to this area when she was 12 and purchased a farm in Ephratah.
Mrs. Cromer attended high school in Johnstown. After high school she was accepted at the Traphagen School of Design in New York City. It was at this time she met her future husband, Don Cromer, upon his return from service.
They were married Oct. 7, 1945, and he died in 1993 after 48 years of marriage.
Vivian was attended the Former First United Methodist Church in Johnstown for over 50 years. For more than 40 years she taught Sunday School, served as Sunday School Superintendent, was assistant Cherub Choir leader, a member of the administrative board, and worked at most church suppers. She and her husband Don were past co-presidents of the couples club, she also served as Den Mother for both the Cub Scout and Girl Scout Troops at church.
Vivian was a member of the City of Johnstown Health Board, and worked on the Red Cross and Heart Fund.
Her hobbies included reading, sewing, cooking, music, gardening, decorating her home, and traveling. She and her husband enjoyed numerous trips to Florida, Cape Cod, and Hawaii, always including her children and later, grandchildren as well.
Vivian was a very caring and private person, often Working behind the scene to make things better for others.
Survivors include two daughters, Vickie (Daniel) Munson of Johnstown, and Valerie (Paul) Wager of Whitehall; a son Jon (Violeta) Cromer of Saratoga Springs; a brother, Charles D. Wilder of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Virginia Johnson of Johnstown, and Sally Cook of St. Johnsville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son, Jeff Cromer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Foothills United Methodist Church 17 Fremont St., Gloversville.
Friends and family may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. at from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main St., Johnstown.
Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church.

Kenneth Cromer, 60, of 507 West Main St., Johnstown, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday night at Johnstown Hospital, where he was taken after being stricken at his son's home, Kenneth R. Cromer of 7 South Comrie Ave.
A lifelong resident of the area, he was bom July 21, 1918 in the Town of Ephratah, the son of the late Raymond Cromer, Sr. and the former Hattle Clemons of Johnstown, who survives. He attended the former Christman District School in the Town of Ephratah,
On Dec. 22, 1945, he was married to the former Phyllis Cunningham who survives,
Cromer worked as a superintendent at Milligan and Higgins, where he was employed for the past 34 years.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors in addition to his widow, son and mother include a sister, Mrs. Squires N. Gray, Johnstown; a brother, Raymond Cromer, Jr., Meco; one grandson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. from the A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Johnstown, with the Rev. Frances Hopfer, pastor of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was made in the Rockwood Cemetery.

Raymond Cromer, Jr., age 98, of Caroga Lake, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the home of his daughter Vanessa in Gloversville.
He was born on June 27, 1922 in Lassellsville, a son of the late Raymond Cromer, Sr. and Harriet Clemons Cromer.
Mr. Cromer honorably served his country in U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart among other medals of valor. He was employed for many years as a Truck Driver for Tanny’s Trucking in Johnstown. Raymond also worked for Brown Transportation. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his house on East Caroga Lake. Mr. Cromer especially enjoyed watching his great grandchildren Cailee and Anthony fishing, swimming and tubing behind his boat.
Raymond is survived by one son James Cromer (Bobbie) of Malta, one daughter Vanessa Sheppard (Frank) of Gloversville; grandchildren Jennifer Caputo (Chris), Marc Hickok (Kate), John Darnell (Anne), Kimberly Robben, Frank Sheppard (Nikki) and Stephanie Sheppard; great grandchildren Cort McDonough, Molly McDonough, Remy McDonough, Sofia Darnell, Cailee Caputo, Anthony Caputo, William Sheppard, Weston Sheppard and Alya Bergman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife Betty Bowler Cromer who he married on June 25, 1949 and who passed on March 7, 2006, one brother Kenneth Cromer and one sister Leona Gray.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be conducted at Rockwood Cemetery

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Frank J. Reid of the Methodist church, Johnstown, before an altar of palms, seasonable flowers and candlebra.
Miss Delores Swartz, cousin of the bride played the traditional wedding marches.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of brocaded nylon with a white hat and shoulder corsage of red roses.
The maid of honor, Miss Beverly Bowler, sister of the bride, wore a dress of pink brocaded nylon with a white hat and a shoulder corsage of roses.
Kenneth Cromer, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man.
The mothers of the bride and bridegroom wore blue dresses of Summer prints and shoulder corsages of gardenias.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The newlyweds cut a three-tiered wedding cake, made by Mrs. Robert Flynn, sister of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Cromer presented their attendants with personal gifts.
For traveling the bride wore an acqua marine summer suit with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Quebec, and Montreal. Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Cromer will reside at 1241 North street.
The bride attended Gloversville High School and is employed by the Wise Dress Shop. Mrs. Cromer
wss a guest of several pre-nuptial parties.
The bridegroom attended Johnstown High School and served two yesrs in the European theatre of operations. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat and held the rank of sergeant when he was discharged in 1945. He is employed by the C. C. Cromer Trucking Co., Johnstown.
Out of town guests attending the wedding and reception were from Johnstown, and Amsterdam.

She was born on June 10, 1928 in Johnstown to the late Ira Cromer and Florence Weaver Cromer.
Lois was a 1946 graduate of Johnstown High School.
She was employed by George John's Manufacturing, MCA Records, The Johnstown Telephone Company, and lastly for N.A. Taylor until she retired in 1993.
She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Johnstown Moose.
She loved traveling to Florida, Myrtle Beach and Lake Placid with family and friends. Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, cooking, and reading. She was an avid Mets fan.
She is survived by one son Alan (Patricia) Hosbach, one daughter LuAnn (David) Ackerknecht, two step-daughters Kathy (Greg) Leibowitz and Deborah (Richard) Van Nostrand, one brother Richard (Elizabeth) Cromer, two sisters Lucille Plantz, and Donna (Paul) Klempa, grandchildren Justin Martin, Lukas Martin and Kyle Martin, great grandchildren Cheyenne, Eli, Oliver and Kendal, 1 great great-grandchild, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois was predeceased by her parents and first husband Walter Hosbach, her second husband John Genovese, and her best friend Polly Miller.

Mrs. Irene Andrews of Ephratah, organist, played traditional wedding music.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of white Chantilly lace over taffeta designed with a Sabrina neckline, fitted bodice, long sleeves ending in bridal points amd a full bouffant skirt accented with inserts of lace ruffling. Her chapel length train of Chantilly lace fell from the shoulders and was trimmed with bridal bows.
A bouffant veil was attached to a lace crown accented with pearls and crystal and she carried a colonial bouquet of miniature carnations with a center of yellow roses and satin streamers.
Miss Sharon C. Smrtic was maid of honor and wore a royal blue velvet full length gown designed with a detachable train. Her bouffant veil was attached to a matching bow.
Miss Janet Barker and Miss Sandra L. Bell were bridesmaids and wore full length gowns of cranberry velvet designed the same as the gown of the maid of honor. Their headpieces matched the gowns.
Miss Deborah Cromer, cousin of the bride, was flower girl and wore a full length gown of white velvet trimmed with red and carried a basket of colored pompons.
Lawrence Ben Shmuel of Ephratah was best man and John Johnsen and Alan P. Hosbach, brother of the bride, were ushers. Duane Veeder of Randall, nephew of the bridegroom, was ringbearer.
The mother of the bride wore a silver metallic dress and coat ensemble with matching accessories and a white carnation corsage.
The mother of the bridegroom wore an orchid dress and purple coat ensemble with silver accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.
A reception for 150 was conducted after the ceremony at the Sammonsville firehouse and music was provided by Tom McCue and his combo.
Guests attended from Johnstown, Gloversville, Little Falls, Randall, Broadalbin, Amsterdam, Fort Plain, St Johnsville and Wood River, Ill.
For the wedding trip to Boston, Mass., the bride chose a tan pant suit ensemble with brown accessories and a yellow rose corsage.
The attendants were presented with gifts at an after-rehearsal luncheon Saturday afternoon, Nov. 21, at the home of the bridegroom's parents.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carmella Cromer, Endwell; four sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Jackie Cromer, Md., Fred and Gloria Cromer, N.H., Tom and Marcia Cromer, Newark Valley, Gary Cromer, Endicott; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Blake Pomeroy, Town of Maine, Debra and Frank Fieldson, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Leon Cromer, Del., Roger and Ann Cromer, Dolgeville, N.Y.; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Sylvia and Al Snell, Little Falls, N.Y., Evelyn Frasier and Elsie Cretser, both of St. Johnsville, N.Y., Geraldine Slater, Remson, N.Y.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cyrus D. (Cy) Frasier, 90, of Oppenheim passed away peacefully on Sunday May 17, 2020 after a long illness.
He was born May 12, 1930 in Edinburg, NY the son of the late Brayton and Ada (Edwards) Frasier and was educated in Northville schools.
Cy was last employed as the Codes Enforcement Officer for the Towns of Ephratah, Oppenheim and Stratford. He began his working career as a farmer in Fordsbush, NY. He was then employed as a bus driver and custodian for the Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School District. He was employed as a service repairman for Agway in Fort Plain, NY. Cy also worked for Todd Bradt Builders, when needed.
He was an all-around repairman for all his neighbors and family, near and far. All you had to do was give him a call and he would be right there to do whatever he could to help. Cy loved helping his children and grandchildren learn how to do electrical work, building projects and anything else he was good at. He was never happier than when he was helping someone in need.
Cy served 40 years on the Board of Education for the Oppenheim-Ephratah School District. It was one of his proudest achievements, as he loved the school and wanted the best education for all the kids who attended there.
Survivors include his loving long-time companion of 30 years, Diane Manners; four daughters, Cindy Wheeler, Vicki Lansburg, Jill Manners (Tom) and Tammy (Ed) Brys; five sons, Bruce (Bonnie) Frasier, Clifford (Diana) Frasier, Roger (Dani Lynn) Frasier, Charlie Manners, and Keith (Michele) Manners; three brothers, George (Norma) Frasier, Harvey (Connie) Frasier and Guy (Janice) Frasier; and one sister, Marion (Larry) Alkinburgh. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Jake Frasier, and two sisters, Ina Nearbin and Eleanor Monk.
In keeping with Cy's wishes, funeral services and burial at Michael Cemetery.

The ceremony was performed by the pastor, Rev. William Knorr.
The bride was attired in a street length light blue dress with navy accessories, and carried a bouquet of white roses.
The only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Snell. Mrs. Snell, sister of the bride, wore a dusty rose colored street length dress with white accessories. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Following the ceremony, the bridal party had a turkey dinner at the Antlers.
Yesterday at noon, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for 25 members of the bride's and bridegroom's families. The couple cut a three-tier wedding cake.
The bride is employed at the Aris Fabric Glove Company in La\sselsville, and the bridegroom by Charles Gee on his farm at Fords Bush, where the couple will reside.

The bride wore a white taffeta dress with net skirt, ballerina length dress with net skirt, ballerina length. She carried a bouquet of white pom-poms. Her attendant, Mrs. Raymond Cromer, Jr., wore pink taffeta and carried pink roses.
The best man was Raymond Cromer, Jr.
Mrs. Cromer, mother of the bride, wore blue taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of roses. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a blue silk dress with navy accessories, and also wore a corsage of roses.
A reception for 125 people was held at the Community Hall in Lassellsvilie at which time the couple cut a four tiered wedding cake. The hall was decorated with pink and blue.
Following a honeymoon of undetermined destination, they will reside in Scotch Bush.
The bride is a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and is employed at the Crescendre Glove Co. in Johnstown.
The groom attended Oppenheim Ephratah Central School and is employed with his father in the logging business.
Personal gifts were given to the attendants. Guests were present from Ilion, Norwich, Gloversville, Johnstown, Meco, and Ford’s Bush.
The bride was a guest at a variety shower given by relatives in the community house recently.

Brian Cretser. infant son of Mr, and Mrs. William Cretser of St. Johnsville RD 1, died about. 7 yesterday morning in Little Falls Hospital.
He had been ill since birth in that hospital on Aug. 12.
The survivors, besides his parents, include two sisters, Dawn and Lynn; two brothers, Mark and Allen; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cromer of St. Johnsville RD 1, and paternal grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Ralph Cretser of St. Johnsville RD 1, also aunts, uncles and cousins.

Geraldine 'Gerry' G. Slater
Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" G. Slater, 66, of Remsen died Thursday, November 25, 2004, at home with her loved ones by her side.
She was born June 25, 1938, in Lassellsville, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel Hicox Cromer.
She graduated from Oppenheim High School and Delhi College.
Gerry was a member of the Fort Nightly Group.
She was employed by the Remsen School District, Stetson & Harza of Utica and lastly for Catholic Charities of Utica.
Survivors include her friend and companion, Bob Hoffman; three sons, Scot Slater of Chazy, Shawn Slater of Pahoa, Hawaii, Blake Slater of London, Arkansas; one daughter, Crystal Baker of Liverpool; two brothers, Roger Cromer of Dolgeville and Leon Cromer of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware; two sisters, Evelyn "June" Frasier of St. Johnsville and Elsie Cretser of Johnstown; grandchildren James, Colin, Corey, Sarah and Eric; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Cromer, and sister, Sylvia Snell.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Friends and family may call on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Michael Cemetery, Lassellsville.

Miss Geraldine Grace Cromer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cromer, St Johnsville RD, and Carl Raymond Slater, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Slater, Claryville, were united in marriage at 3 Saturday afternoon In the Lassellsvllle Methodist Church.
Rev. Frederick Cook performed the double ring ceremony in the midst of baskets filled with home flowers. Cyrus Van Slyke, St. Johnsville, played "Ave Marie" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride, accompanied by her father, wore a white satin floorlength gown fashioned, with long pointed sleeves and long train. Her crown of white pearls and sequins was attached to a fingertip illusion veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and white roses.
Mrs Elsie Cretser was her sister's matron of honor and chose a light blue spun acetate full length gown with blue crown of swquins. She carried a colonial bouquet of white pompons and blue roses.
Mrs. Lynne Lucas, Utica and Miss Nancy Ward, Blalrstown, N.J., were attendants and Cindy Frasier and Kevin Snell, niece and nephew of the bride, were trainbearers.
The altendants wore ballerina length gowns of lace net over taffeta and carried colonial bouquets of white pompons. Cindy Frasier wore a yellow dress with yellow crown.
Richard Slater, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Danny Sullivan, Milton and Arnold Ford, Kent, ushered.
About 200 attended a reception at Lassellsvllle Community Hall immediately following the ceremony. The brides mother chose a light blue, chrome spun dress with matching jacket and black accessories with a corsage of white variegated carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a medium blue suit with black accessories a n d White variegated carnations corsage.
The couple left on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada after which they will make their home in New Hartford. The bride chose a light blue dress with black accessories and white rose corsage for traveling.
The bride is a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and Delhi Agriculture and Technical School, and is employed by General Electric in Utica. He is a graduate of Liberty High School School and attended Delhi Agriculture and Technical School and is employed by Sears Roebuck Co. in New Hartford.
Guests were present from New Jersey, Milton, Claryville. Kent, Syracuse, Albany, Endwell, Utica, New York, Oppenheim and St. Johnsville.
