Passed January 18, 2019, at the age of 82 surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years James; sons, Jimmy and Stephen.
Survived by her children, Linda (Frank) Morgana, Mona (Bruce) Wadsley, Doug Szczesny, Felicia (Scot) Molinari; grandchildren, Julie Ann, Douglas Jr., Rachel, and Brandon (Caity); 4 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Brooke, Taylor, and Jonathan.
Muriel raised her family with unconditional love. She was absolutely adored by her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved to visit lighthouses, and take road trips. Many fond memories were made in Old Forge. Muriel left a beautiful family legacy. She will be sadly missed and always in our hearts.
Calling hours will be held Saturday January 26, 2-5 pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard. Burial will be at a later date at Irondequoit Cemetery.
Muriel's parting message to all, "Continue making memories and always be kind to each other."

James was a Korean War Veteran with the U.S. Army, retiree of the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the American Legion Chili Center Post 1830.

GILBERTSVJLLE -- Donna Marie Wilber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley H. Wilber, New Hartford, was married September 14 to Paul Glenn Decker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Decker, Sauquoit.
The Rev. Roger L. Beach performed the double ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of French lace over satin, styled with long sleeves, fitted bodice and scalloped neckline.
Her veil was attached to a headpiece decorated with sequins and pearls.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis.
Mrs. Bernt Hansen, Gilbertsville, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a coral gown and carried white mums.
Bridesmaids were Debra Wilbur, New Hartford, sister of the bride, and Barbara Birdsall, . Chittenango, cousin of tie bride. They wore matching gowns of blue satin and carried bouquets of white mums.
Best man was Mark Decker, Sauquoit, brother of the groom.
Stanley H. Wilber Jr., and Michael Sents, both of New Hartford, ushered.
Richard Birdsall, Morris, uncle of the bride, was soloist. Mrs. Charles White, Gilbertsville, played the organ.
A reception with 150 guests attending was held immediately after the ceremony at the church parlor.
The bride, a graduate of New Hartford Central School, formerly attended Gilbertsville Central School. She is presently employed toy New York Telephone Company, Ulica.
The groom is a graduate of New Harlford Central School and is employed by The National Cash Register Co., Utica. After a wedding trip through New England and Canada, the couple will make their home 31 1/2 VanVorst St. Utica.

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Mary Barbara Cromer, a resident of Wappingers Falls and previously of Utica, died on August 15, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on May 16, 1940 in Utica, Mary was the daughter of Norbert and Katharine McCloskey Wehrle.
On September 21, 1963 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica, Mary married the love of her life, Donald A. Cromer, who survives at home. Mary was a parishioner of St. Columba and St. Mary, Mother of the Church. Mary worked for General Electric in Utica where she met her husband. Mary was a Girl Scout leader for many years, and she loved music, reading, knitting, and travelling. She was the most loving, selfless Grammy who enjoyed making numerous Halloween and recital costumes. Mary was a devoted wife, and her family was the most important thing to her.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children, Kathleen Diehl of Terre Haute, IN and Christine Saglibene and her husband Robert of Poughquag; her grandchildren Heather Diehl and John Saglibene; her siblings, Bernadette Wehrle of Vernon Center and Joseph Wehrle and his wife Linda of Delia, KS, her sisters-in law Joan Cummings of Deerfield and Jacqueline Cromer of Utica, her brothers-in-law Robert Cromer and his wife Diane of Marcy and Harry Seibert of Ballston Spa, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Seibert in 2006, her brother in law John R. Cummings in 1997, her niece Susan Cummings in 2013, and her nephew John Cummings in 2002.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Chris- tian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Wingate at Dutchess for all their help and support.

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- Mrs. Nellie Miles Moyer, 36, wife of Frank A. Moyer, died Monday midnight at her home, 76 North Division street. She had been in ill health for some time, of heart trouble.
She was born in Lassellsville on July 30, 1905, a daughter of Jean and Carrie Edick Miles.
Surviving are the husband and one son, at home; her mother, now Mrs. Willis Gray, and a sister, Mrs. Bert Clemons, Krings Bush.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Smith funeral home, here, and burial will be made in West St. Johnsville cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Burton Clemons of 115 1/2 Spring Street will observe their 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow.
The couple was honored at a buffet dinner party Sunday afternoon at the Fremont Street United Methodist Church fellowship hall attended by 45 persons.
The party was arranged by the couple's son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Clemons, their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harrington, and by a nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray, all of Gloversville. The honored guests were presented gifts, flowers and money.
Mr. and Mrs. Clemons were united in marriage Oct. 15, 1926, at the home of the bride's stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Gray, at St. Johnsville. Rev. C. A. Robinson, pastor of the St. Johnsville Methodist Church, performed the marriage rite. Mrs. Clemons, the former Delilah Miles, is the daughter of Eugene Miles, who was deceased at the time of the wedding.
The attendants at the wedding ceremony were the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moyer, both now deceased.
Clemons was employed for 32 years as a boss dyer by the Palatine Dyeing Company, St. Johnsville, and by the Lee Dyeing Company of Johnstown, then did maintenance work at Littauer Hospital for 13 years, retiring six years ago.
Mrs. Clemons also retired six years ago from Littauer Hospital where she did laundry work. She also was employed for 13 years by the hospital. She previously did glove work at area shops.
The couple has four grandchildren.

Mrs. Delilah Clemons, 98, of Gloversville, died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Born in Lassellsville on October 30, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Carrie Edick Miles. She loved sewing and was quite an expert. Early in life she worked for area glove shops sewing gloves at home. Most of her life, she worked in the laundry department as a sewing machine operator at Lathan Littauer Hospital. she was a long time member of the Foothills United Methodist Church. Mrs Clemons was married October 15, 1926 to Burton Clemons, who predeceased he in 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Harrington of Gloversville two sisters, Hazel Pearl of Dolgeville and Ethel Brower of St Johnsville. she is also survived by four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Milford Clemans and several brothers and sisters.

Burton Clemons, 84, of Gloversville, died Friday, Aug. 17, in Nathan Littuaer Hospital, following a short illness.
Mr. Clemons was bom Feb. 11, 1906, in Ephratah, the son of Eugene and Mary Jane Youker Clemons. He was a lifelong area resident.
On Oct. 15, 1926, he was married to Deliah Edick.
He was a supervisor at Lee Dye Co. in Johnstown and also had worked in the maintenance department at Nathan Littauer Hospital, retiring in 1969.
Mr. Clemons was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of St. Johnsville.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, include a son, Milford Clemons of Gloversville; a daughter, Patricia Harrington of Gloversville; four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 20, at the Kobuskie-Konik FuneralHome, Gloversville with burial in West St. Johnsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Alma M. DeNure, 78, of the Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls, formerly of St. Johnsville, died Sunday evening in Little Falls Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 3.
Mrs, DeNure was born in Lassellsville on September 24, 1906, a daughter of Orville and Lily Strobeck Miles, and was educated in Scotch Bush.
Her marriage to Frank DeNure took place on June 22, 1921, in the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church. Mr. DeNure died in May 1977.
For much of her working life, Mrs. DeNure was a self-employed glove maker, in her home. She was a member of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Emerson Miles, Scotch Bush, and a sister, Mrs. Edward (Gladys) Herrick, Johnstown RD; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Quackenbush, on October 5, 1978 , a brother, Olin Miles, and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Brandt.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Maginnis-Smith Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with the Rev. Raymond J. VandeGlessen, pastor of St. John’s Reformed Church, officiating. interment will be in the family’s lot in Fical Cemetery in Lassellsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday (tonight) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Frank DeNure, 79, of 40 North Division Street, died at 11:35 last night at Little Falls Hospital, where he had been a patient since May 19. He had been in failing health for the last two months.
Born Sept. 5, 1897, in Scotch Bush, Town of Ephratah, he was the son of William and Etta Phillips DeNure, and attended Scotch Bush schools.
In 1924, he moved to St. Johnsville, working for many years as a farmer and lumberman, until 1959, when he went to work for the Village of St. Johnsville, retiring in 1974.
On June 15, 1922, he married the former Alma Miles, who survives.
Mr. DeNure was a member of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Vernard Quackenbush of St. Johnsville; one grandson, a grandddaughter, and several cousins.

SHARE WEDDING DATE -- Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeNure of St. Johnsville, left, celeberated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party at their home Sunday, sharing honors with their daughter, Elsie, and her husband, Vernard Quackenbush, at the right, who were married on the 20th anniversary of Mrs. Quackenbush's parents, and celebrated their 30th anniversary.
There was a double celebration Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeNure and Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Quackenbush, 40 North Division St., St. Johnsville, the DeNures celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and the Quackenbushs', their son-in-law and daughter, their 30th.
Mr. and Mrs. Quackenbush, their daughter Pam, and son Robert, also Miss Nancy Snyder, Robert's finance, acted as hosts and hostesses at Sunday's open house and reception, with some 90 relatives and friends from St. Johnsville and the surrounding areas attending.
Refreshments included a decorated, tiered cake for each couple.
Mr. DeNure and the former Miss Alma Miles were married June 15, 1922, at the bride's home in Scotch Bush, Town of Ephratah, at an evening ceremony performed by the Rev. Clifford C. Crouch. Their attendants were Lloyd Cretser, now of Schenectady, and the late Mrs. Cretser, the bride's cousin.
Mr. and Mrs. DeNure have lived in St. Johnsville since 1923, and almost that long in their present home. Mr. DeNure has been employed by the Village of St. Johnsville for many years. His wife sews gloves at home for the Grandoe Glove Co. of Gloversville.
Their daughter Elsie was married to Vernard Quackenbush June 15, 1942, on the 20th anniversary of her parents' wedding, in the St. Johnsville Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles Miller.
Her attendants were Ida Mary Flanders Smith, Ann Osipovich and Louise Vedder Hayes. The bridegroom's attendants were Edward LaMountain, Donald Hayes and Lyle Quackenbush.
Mr. and Mrs. Quackenbush have a son and daughter, Robert and Pam, both at home. Mr. Quackenbush is an assistant supervisor at the Palatine Dyeing Company Inc., St. Johnsville.

St. Johnsville, Sept. 30.—Emerson Miles, 16 of Lassellsville suffered the loss of his right thumb and his brother, Barnard, also 16, may lose his right arm just below the elbow as the result of an accidental shooting which occurred while the lads started out in an auto to pick ferns near that village Saturday.
Emerson was standing on the running board of the car holding a shotgun, and it is thought the gun slipped, the hammer striking the edge of the running board causing it to explode. The charge shot off the thumb ofthe right hand of Emmerson after whichit entered the right arm of Bernard just below the elbow, shattering it so severely that amputation may be found necessary. They were brought to the office of Dr. C. P. Wagner, who dressed the wounds.
The young men were going to gather ferns to send to Troy to be shipped to New York cold storage for winter use.

Emerson Miles, 78, of the Scotch Bush area, St. Johnsville RD 1, died March 18 at Johnstown Hospital, where he was admitted the previous Sunday. He had been in ill health the last four years.
Born in Lassellsville, March 24, 1907, he was the son of Orville and Lily Strobeck Miles. He was married to the former Marion Fisher, Dec. 1, 1939. He was a lifelong area resident and prior to his retirement in 1975 was an equipment operator for the Town of Ephratah.
He was a member of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, are three daughters. Mrs. Linda Christman of Mechanicville. Mrs. Doris Smith of Johnstown RD 2. and Mrs. Margaret Countryman of Las Vegas. Nev.; two sons, Ronald Miles of Elmira and Fred Miles of Poughquag; sister. Mrs. Gladys Herrick of Johnstown RD 2; 14 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home. Johnstown, with the Rev. Thomas Davis officiating. Interment will be made in Fical Cemetery, Town of Ephratah, at a later date.
Contributions in his memory may lie made to the St. Johnsville Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Mrs. Marion E. Miles, 80, of Johnstown, died Monday at her home.
Mrs. Miles was born in Hopewell Junction.
At one time, she worked for the former Felt Shoe Co., St. Johnsville.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Miles participated in the Green Thumb Program of Fulton County, and was a member of Western Fulton County and the St. Johsville Senior Citizens groups.
She married Emerson Miles on Dec 1, 1939. He died in 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Welch of Ballston Lake, Doris Smith of Johnstown and Peggie Miles of St. Johnsville; two sons, Ronald Miles of Fishkill and Fred Miles of Poughquag; a brother, Harold Fisher of Fishkill; a sister, Ella Mae Freeman of Kingston; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fical Cemetery in Lasellsville.Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.

Salisbury Center, N.Y. - Mrs. Louise A. Miles, 88, of Curtiss Road, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2008, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, following a brief illness. At the time of her passing she had the love and support of her family at her side.
She was born on November 12, 1920, in Salisbury, daughter of the late Willard and Mabel (Decker) Belcher. She was united in marriage to Olin O. Miles on October 5, 1940. The couple enjoyed a union of 39 years until Mr. Miles’ passing on April 10, 1980.
Mrs. Miles primary focus in life was taking care of her home, but most importantly the needs of her family who she loved dearly. She will be remembered by all for her cooking and baking (especially homemade bread). She loved to play cards, put together jigsaw puzzles and watching television, and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include five loving children, Barbara Markwardt and husband Michael of Salisbury, Orville Miles and wife Patricia of Stratford, Timothy Miles and wife Susan of Stratford, Bonnie Sowizdrawl and husband James of Mariaville Lake and Willard Miles and wife Tammy of Lassellsville; also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard “Sonny” Belcher; a sister, June Scarano; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she is predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Albert “Mike,” Carlton “Pat” and Howard Belcher; and by three sisters, Velma and husband Royce Cool, Phyllis and husband Willard Burdick and Elva and husband Melvin Johnson.
In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a funeral service. However, there will be a time for family and friends to pay their respects at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. LITTLE FALLS-SALISBURY - Mrs. Barbara A. (Miles) Markwardt, age 71, of Curtiss Road, Little Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 19, 2014, at Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare, Town of New Hartford, NY in the loving arms of her husband, Michael D. Markwardt.
She was born on September 20, 1942 in Lassellsville, NY a daughter of the late Owen and Louise (Belcher) Miles. She attended Oppenheim schools. Her marriage to Michael D. Markwardt took place on March 29, 1969. She and her husband Michael built their home and lived in it for forty-six years. She worked for twenty-seven years with Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed puzzles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her brother, Willard Miles; and her sister, Bonnie Sowizbard. She was predeceased by brothers Timothy Miles of Stratford and Orville Miles, of Salisbury.
Her funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville under the direction of Funeral Directors Harry & Kevin Enea (518) 568-2300. Her wishes have been honored as there are no services planned. Her burial will be in Curtis Corners Cemetery, Salisbury.

Miss Donna Monk, St. Johnsviile RD 1, was maid of honor. She wore a beige dress, and a corsage of yellow carnations.

The bride's mother was attired in a pale gold taffeta dress, with rose-colored accessories, and wore a pink orchid.

After the wedding, guests attended a dinner at Angelo's Dining Hall, Concord.
After a wedding trip through New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut, the couple will reside at Caroga Lake.
The bride is a graduate of Mayfield High School and is employed at Conroy Glove Company, Johnstown, and the bridegroom attended Johnstown schools, and operates a service station.

46th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wagner of this village were feted Jan. 20 at a dinner party in observance of their 46th wedding anniversary. The function was given at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wagner, St. Johnsville RD 1.
Mr. Wagner was employed for 44 years by the Little Falls Felt Shoe Co. before retiring as a foreman, a few years ago, and becoming associated with his son, Frederick Wagner, in logging and lumber. They also have a surplus store on Route 5, just west of the village.
Assisting the host and hostess with dinner arrangements was Mrs. Theresa Brigeman. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bryant, Gloversville; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miles, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith, Lassellsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Paatrz, Dolgeville.
The guests of honor were presented gifts, and cut an anniversary cake.

Mrs. Florence Wagner, 88, of St. Johnsville, died Saturday morining, July 4, at the Palatine Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 1991.
Mrs. Wagner was born Jan. 18, 1904, in Scotch Bush, the daughter of Gordon and Ada Miles Argersinger, She was of a Protestant denomination.
She was married to Theodore Wagner, who died in 1988.
Survifors include two sons, Frederick Wagner of St. Johnsville and Walter Wagner of Dolgeville; one sister, Threresa Brigman of St. Johnsville and one grandchild.
A graveside service was held Monday, July 4, at the family plot in Fical Cemetery, Lassellsville, with the Rev. Alvin Mayo officiating.

St. Johnsville -- Henry A. Brigeman, 64, of 22 John St., died yesterday after a heart attack in the office of Dr. Bernard Feldstein.
He was born at Little Falls, and had been employed as a metal polisher by the Cherry-Burrell Corp., there, for the past 19 years. He married the former Tressa Argersinger.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Armitage, of St. Johnsville.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert A. Geddes, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fical Cemetery, Lassellsville.

The bride was dressed in a two-piece dress of aqua gabardine with three-quarter length sleeves, high neckline and buttons down the front. Her accessories were white and she wore a corsage of red roses. Her sister wore a two-piece dress of pink linen with white embroidery around the peplum and sleeves She also had white accessories and wore a corsage of white roses.
The bride's mothers dress was royal blue crepe with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a black and white Summer dress with white accessories.
Immediately following the ceremony the couple left by automobile for a trip of unannounced destination. They plan to reside in Bleecker street, Gloversville.
Mrs. Smullen attended Johnstown High school and is employed by the Scotsmoor Co. Three pre-nuptial showers have been given for her.
Her husband graduated from Gloversville High school and is a firm member of Harry Smullen & Sons, mason contractors.

Janet M. Girard, 72, formerly of Johnstown, died Saturday, August 6, at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam.
Born in Johnstown, November 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Schulenburg. Janet was manager at Twin City Dry Cleaners in Johnstown for many years, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Bernard Girard Sr.; her children, Cheryl Walsh of Gloversville, Bernard Girard II of Malta and Rodney Girard of Malta; her sister, Geraldine Smullen of Meco; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, 302 Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Arrangements are by the Armer Funeral Home, Ballston Spa.

The ceremony was performed at 2:30 P M. by the Rev. Frank Jay Reid at the First Methodist church. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Mrs. Foster Heaxt, church Organist, played the traditional wedding marches in addition to "Intermezzo'' (Nevin), "Estrellita" (Ponce) and "On the Wings of Song" (Mendelssohn).
Mrs. William Bellinger, friend of the bride, acted as matron of honor, and Mrs Alton Smullen, sister of the bride, and Miss Shirley Van Antwerp were bridesmaids.
William Bellinger was best man. Harry Bryant, uncle of the bride, and Alton Smullen. her brother-in-law, were ushers.
The bride wore a gown of white satin with an illusion neckline, a ruffle of Chantilly lace around the neckline, tight bodice and a full bouffant skirt. Her headpiece consisted of a large picture hat made of Chantilly lace, with satin edging. She carried a bouquet of white roses with white satin streamers to match
The maid of honor wore a gown of aqua satin with a full skirt and ruffles in the back from the waist down. Her headpiece was a matching aqua picture hat. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
The gowns worn by the bridesmaids were of yellow frosted organdy. They each had large picture hats to match and carried bouquets of red roses.
The mother of the bride was attired in a black and white dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pom-poms, while the bridegroom's mother wore a black print dress with white accessories and a similar corsage.
Following the ceremony a wedding party was held for the Immediate families. Personal gifts were presented by the couple to their attendants, after which the newlyweds left on their wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada.
The bride's going away outfit was a Navy blue suit with white accessories and a corsage of white roses.
The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High school, class of 1950. and is employed by the Acme Super Market. The bridegroom, a graduate with the Class of 1949, Johnstown High school, is employed by the White Mop Wringer Co. of Fultonville
On their return from the North, the newlyweds will reside at 26 Spring street, Gloversville.
