Miss Louise Phillips of Rockwood, and Robert Broat of this city, were united in marriage Sunday afternoon at 2 at the parsonage of the First Baptist church, by the Rev, Harlow W Parens.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs, William Phillips, and the bridegroom a son of Mr and Mrs, James H. Broat, 9 McMartin street.
The attendants were Mrs. John Borst of this city and James Trimble of Haveratraw, N Y.
The bride and her attendant wore white organdy, the former with a corsage of orchids, and the matron of honor red roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Flame, near Mayfield.
During the wedding trip to Michigan the couple will visit the bride's brother. Harold Phillips ini Kalemaaoo.
The newlyweds will reside in Fort Wayne, Ind . where the bridegroom is employed by the General Electric Co.

Clifford C. Vosburgh, 85, of 52 Hancock street, Fort Plain, died Monday morning at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. Mr. Vosburgh was born Oct. 26, 1911, in the Town of Palatine. He was the son of Charles Vosburgh and Eva
Peeler. He was married to the former Hazel Phillips Dec. 21, 1941 in St. Johnsville. For many years Mr. Vosburgh was employed by the Clyde Bank Knitting Mills. Survivors include his widow, Hazel, residing at home; two daughters, Karen Lee Vosburgh and Kathy Ann Jones, both at home; a son, Alan C. Vosburgh, Utica; three sisters, Mrs. Everett Smith, Fort Plain, Mrs. Jerry England, Fonda, and Mrs. Robert Heroth, Stone Arabia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Gray Funeral Home, Fort Plain, with Rev. Andrew Currier, pastor of the Fort Plain United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be made in Michael' s Cemetery, Lassellsville. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7-9 o'clock tonight.

William C. Kornell, 49, of Fort Plain, died Thursday, March 25, at Albany Veterans' Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past six months. Mr. Kornell was born Aug. 26, 1943, in Rome. He had been a member of the U. S. Army and prior to his illness had been employed with Kasson & Keller, Fonda. On Dec. 24, 1980, he was married to Karen Vosburgh. Survivors beside his widow, include one step brother; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was Saturday, March 27, at Gray Funeral Home, Fort Plain, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery later in the spring. Calling hours were observed Saturday, preceding the funeral.

Mrs. Barbara Phillips, 32, wife of Leland Phillips, 1 Ann St., Fultonville, died late last night at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been ill for the past two months. Mrs. Phillips was born in Amsterdam on Sept. 26, 1935, the daughter of Harvey and Leona Lape Fredericks. She graduated from the Fort Plain High School in 1952. She had formerly been employed at the Central National Bank in Canajoharie. On Oct. 2, 1954, she was married to Mr. Philips and for the past 10 years the couple has resided in Fultonville.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Stone Arabia Reformed Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Lisa, at home. Her father and mother, Mr. And Mrs. Harvey Fredericks, and her maternal grandmother Oran Lape, all of Fort Plain RD 2; also aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home in Fort Plain, with the Rev. Cornelius Dykhuizen of Scotia, the former pastor of the Canajoharie Reformed Church to officiate. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda RD.

Miss Barbar a Jean Fredericks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey G. Fredericks of Stone Arabia and Leland Charles Phillips, son of Mrs. Oliver Phillips of Stone Arabia and the late Oliver Phillips, were married Saturday, Oct. 2, at noon in the Canajoharie Reformed church.
Rev. Cornelius Dykhulzen, pastor, performed the ceremony. Miss Elaine Dykhulzen, organist, played the traditional weeding music and the vocal soloist was Mrs, Herman Frederick Jr.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her floor length gown was of chantilly lace over satin. The fitted bodice was styled with a yoke outlined with rhinestones. The sleeves were long and pointed over the wrists, and the dress had a full hooped skirt.
The bride's fingertip veil of Illusion fell from a queen's crown trimmed with rhinestones. She carried a white Bible with white roses.
Mrs. Orvis Peoples Jr., Fort Plain, the matron of honor, was gowned in white embroidered nylon tulle over turquoise taffeta, fashioned with a shirred bodice and full skirt with back panels of pleated white satin and a satin bolero. Her white satin headpiece was trimmed with turquoise roses. She carried a cascade bouquet of matching pompons.
Miss Mary Janes Donlon, cousin of the bride, and Miss Louise Gros were the bridesmaids, their gowns, identical to that of the matron of honor, were white embrodered nylon over coral net and taffeta. Their headpieces were white satin trimmed with coral roses and they carried cascade bouquets of coral pompons.
Miss Cheryl Lynn Fredericks, cousin of the bride, who was flower girl, wore a floor length gown of embroidered nylon over turquoise taffeta, and a head band of flowers. She carried a basket of mixed fall flowers. Alan Vosburgh, cousin of the bridegroom, was the ringbearer.
Jay Saltsman, Stone Arabia, was best man. William and Willard Swarts rushered.
The bride's mother chose a Dior blue crystalette dress, with a white cape, and a rose velvet hat for her daughter's wedding. Her corsage was pink roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a royal blue crepe dress with gray accessories and a corsage of red roses.
A reception at the Manor, East Creek, followed the ceremony. The bridal couple left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Canada and the New England states.
Both the bride and groom were graduated from the Fort Plain high school. She is employed at the Canajoharie National Bank, and the bridegroom is engaged in farming. They will reside at 14 Little Mohawk street, Canajoharie.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white velvet gown fashioned with an Empire waist and an A-line skirt. A matching velvet bow headpiece held her shoulder-length illusion veil. She carried a white orchid on a white Bible.
Mrs. Betty Case of Meco was matron of honor for her niece. She wore an orchid and white gown designed with a circle neckline and long sleeves on the orchid georgette bodice, and an A-line white crepe skirt with a full panel at the back. She wore a matching headpiece with bouffant veiling.
Mrs. Andira Bell of Amsterdam, attendant, wore a pink georgette and white crepe gown, designed similar to that of the matron of honor, with a matching veiled headpiece. Both carried bouquets of orchids and white mums.
Lyle Wadsworth of Fonda was best man. Ushers were Richard Case of Meco, uncle of the bride, and Paul Dietric of Gloversville.
The mother of the bride wore a pink dress, brown accessories and an orchid corsage.
A reception for 60 was held at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony.
For the wedding to Niagara Falls and Canada, the bride wore a white bonded knit dress with lavender trim, black accessories and a white flower corsage. The couple will reside at 150 East Fulton Street.
The bride, a 1966 graduate of Gloversville High School, is employed at Lee Dyeing Company. The bridegroom attended the Waterbury, Vt. High School and is employed at the Keymark Corporation, Fonda.

A 1-car accident, in which the vehicle rolled over four times and ejected the occupants, claimed the lives Saturday night of a Randall RD 1 man and his son.
Both Ronald B. Phillips, 18, driver of the car, and his father, Clarence Phillips, 48, sustained multiple head injuries, according to reports.
The accident occured at 7 Saturday night on Route 5-S, Town of Root, about 3 1/2 miles
west of Fultonville.
The son was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, while the elder Phillips was dead on arrival at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
Traveling west, the car went off the right side of the highway and traveled 91 feet, then came bark onto the highway and traveled down and across it 134 feet, according to Montgomery County sheriff's department.
The vehicle then went off the left side of the road, traveling 25 feet and striking an embankment. It then traveled 264 feet along and up the embankment, during which time it rolled over four times, and landed urpight, traveling 28 feet back onto the highway, with both occupants being ejected. Sheriff Ronad Emery, Investigator Robert Arthurs and Deputies Michael Pelosi and Kenneth Rorick reported.
Both victims were transported to the hospitals by Fonda-Fultonville Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Born March 27, 1928, in Johnstown, Clarence Phillips was the son of Frank and Hulda Phillips. He was educated in Johnstown schools. On Nov. 26, 1949, Phillips married the former Marie Miller in Canaan, Conn. They lived in Connecticut until the late 1950's when they moved to the Randall area, where they had since resided.
A construction worker for many years, he last was employed by the former Central Valley Construction Company of Fonda.
Mr. Phillips was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
A member and senior vice commander of VFW Post, Fultonville, he was also a member of the American Legion Post, Fonda.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, residing in Gloversville; five sons, Clarence R. of Johnstown, Pvt. Keith Phillips, serving with the Armv in Scotland, Robert J., Michael A. and James, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Benjamin Rose of Fonda and Miss Donna J. Phillips, at home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Linda Campbell of Fort Hunter; a brother, John of Gloversville; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Ciani, Mrs. Bertha Dutcher and Mrs. Betty Case, all of Gloversville, and Miss Eleanor Phillips of Utica; four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born April 29, 1957, in Amsterdam, Ronald Phillips attended Fonda-Fultonville School.
He was employed by Keymark Corporation of Fonda as a press operator.
In addition to the family survivors listed for the father, he is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Herman Miller of Mayfield, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Both were of the Protestant faith.

Marie H. Phillips, 81, formerly of Argersinger Road, Fultonville, New York, passed away on Sunday at the home of her daughter Donna and Tim on Indian Road in Fonda with her family at her side.
Born July 9, 1925 in Little Falls, New York, she was daughter of the late Herman and Henrietta Ney Miller.
Marie attended Fultonville High School and was employed as a sewing machine operator for the Johnstown Knitting Mill for 34 years until retiring in 1993.
She was a former member and past President of the Veteran of Foreign Wars # 562 Fultonville Auxiliary; the Christ Lutheran Church in Johnstown and the Glen Mohawk Seniors.
Marie enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, playing cards, embroidering and special loved spending time with her grandchildren.
On November 26, 1949 she married Clarence Phillips who died April 17, 1976.
Survivors include, four sons, Robert (Juanita) Phillips of Amsterdam, Keith (Cherie) Phillips of Fonda, Michael Phillips of Amsterdam and James (Amy) Phillips of Johnstown; three daughters, Donna (Tim) Wilmot of Fonda, Linda Campbell of Fort Hunter and Carol (Ben) Rose of Fultonville; three brothers, Helmuth (Sally) Miller of Fonda, Otto (Mary) Miller of Canajoharie and William (Delaine) Miller of Fort Meyers, Florida; two sisters, Ruth Reinhart of Wisconsin and Dorothy (Earl) VanAernam of Fultonville; good friend Ina Rose of Fultonville; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also service.
She was predeceased by, two sons, Ronald Phillips and Clarence Phillips; two daughters, Katherine Phillips and Debra Phillips; a grandson; Heath Phillips; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Rose and two brothers, Alfred Miller and Heinz Miller and a son-in-law Joseph Campbell.
Interment will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville.

RANDALL — Katherine Marie Phillips, nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Phillips of Randall, died at 3:50 p.m. yesterday in Albany Medical Center, where she had been a patient for one week.
She was born in Amsterdam June 13, 1932, a daughter of Clarence and Marie Miller Phillips and attended the Fonda - Fultonville Central School. She attended the Randall Community Reformed Church and was a member of the Randall Rockettes 4-H Club.
Besides her parents she is survived by five brothers. Clarence Jr., Keith, Ronald, Robert and
Michael: two; sisters. Deborah and Carolann: her paternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips, Johnstown: her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller, Randall R.D.; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at their convenience at the Todd funeral home in Fultonville, where services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. J. M. Hogenboom of the Randall Community Reformed Church.
Interment will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.

FULTONVILLE —Services will be conducted this afternoon for an eight-year-old Randall girl who was killed Monday night after ahe was accidentally shot in the stomach by an 11-year-old brother.
DEBORAH JAN E PHILLIPS died instantly from the blast of a 12 gauge shotgun.
Dr., Michael Kizun, Fonda, a county coroner, issued a verdict of accidental death.
Fonda state police said Deborah, her brother and a younger sister were alone when the accident occured. Their parents, Mr. and. Mrs. Clarence Phillips were visiting neignbors near their home on Argersinger road.
Deborah told her brother, Clarence Jr., she wanted to go outdoors to empty a pail but was
afraid to do so. The children reported that earlier in the evening they had heard a noise, possibly made by an animal.
In an effort to provide protection for his sister, Clarence removed his father's shotgun from
a wall rack. He took a shell from his father's Jacket and sat on a couch while loading the weapon, with Deborah standing in front of him.
THE YOUTH put the shell in and worked the action, the gun discharging and hitting Deborah. Later the boy told troopers he thought he was locking the weapon.
Deborah Jane was born in Amsterdam Jan. 25, 1954, the daughter of Clarence and Marie Miller Phillips. She was a second grade pupil at the Fonda-Fultonville central school and attended the Sunday School at the Randall Community Church.
Surviving in addition to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Phillips, are five brothers, Clarence Jr., Keith, Ronald, Robert and Michael; one sister, Carol Ann; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller, Rural Grove; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips, Johnstown; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Todd funeral home, Rev. J. M. Hogenboom, pastor of the Randall Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Avenue cemetery, Fultonvllle.

MARSHVILLE - Miss Cherie Lynn Parsiow, daughter of Beverly Parslow, 116 Front St., Canajoharie, and Arthur Parslow, Emerson, Ark., and Keith Herman Phillips, son of Mrs. Marie Phillips, Argersinger Road, Randall, and the late Clarence Phillips, Sr., were united in marriage recently at the Evangelical Church, Marshville. The Rev, Donovan White performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Clifford Douglass, Canajoharie RD 1, was the organist.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Arthur, wore a white princess style satin gown with flower appliques The headpiece of applique flowers supported a fingertip veil trimmed with matching appliques. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and carnations on a white Bible.
Miss Crystal Hotaling, Canajoharie, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Goldie Parslow, Canajoharie, sister of the bride, and Miss Ann Blair, Fort Plain, cousin of the bride. They wore full length gowns of qiana knit, with loose bodices and soft flowing skirts in mint green, lavender and beige, respectively, with matching flowers in their hair. Their colonial bouquets were white carnations and matching fall daisies.
Clarence Phillips, Jr., Sprakers, brother of the bridegroom, was best man while the ushers were Robert Phillips, Randall, brother of the bridegroom, and Bruce Parslow, Canajoharie, brother of the bride.
The mini-bride and bridegroom were Clarissa Jane Cook, Fort Plain, niece of the bride, and Jeremy Campbell, Fort Hunter, nephew of the bridegroom. She wore a white eyelet gown with fitted bodice and full skirt and carried a bouquet identical to the bridesmaids.
The wedding reception was held at the Fort Plain Otsquago Fish and Game Club, Fort Plain, with music provided by Dan Hazzard and Country Strings.
Mrs. Phillips, a 1980 graduate of Canajoharie Central School, is employed by Lee Publications, Palatine Bridge. Phillips, a 1975 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School
and a U.S. Navy veteran, is employed by Schaffell Tanning Corporation, Gloversville.
The couple is residing at Main Street, Fonda.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Keith Philips, Norfolk, Va., wore a white floor length gown of Chantilly lace and organdy satin, with inserts of gold sequins repeated
throughout the gown. Her fingertip veil fell from a crystal headpiece decorated with sequins.
Miss Dawn Svenson, Randall, the maid of honor, was attired in an off white rose print gown with off-white lace trim, and a matching hat trimmed with orange lace.
Kelly Steenburg, Johnstown, was best man. Ushers were Michael Phillips, Fort Worth, Tex., the bride's brother, and Robert Wilmot, Fonda, brother of the bridegroom

Gloversville's Fremont Street Merthodist Church was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Betty J. Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips of Elmwood Avenue Extention, and Richard Case, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Case of 104 Frasier Avenue.
Rev. Jesse Greene performed the nuptual ceremony at 1 in the afternoon.
Given in marriage by her brother Clarence Phillips of Rural Grove, the bride wore white Chantllly lace and nylon tulle over satin fashioned in the colonial style. The fitted bodice was of lace with a sabrlna neckline studded with iidescent sequins, long sleeves topping a full hoop nylon tier skirt with a lace front panel terminating in a chapel train.
Her silk illusion handrolled fingertip veil fell from a Queen Anne crown of iridescent sequins and seed pearls. She carried a white orchid on a white Bible.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Bertha Dutcher of Gloversville, sister of the bride. She wore nylon net over aqua taffeta fashioned with a strapless bodice, matching jacket, and full net skirt trimmed with lace. Her headpiece was a cloche crown and she carried a bouquet of pompons.
Miss Sue Ballard was the bridesmaid. She wore aqua taffeta trico chiffon over aqua taffeta with a matching crown. Her bouquet was pompons.
Miss Rose Mary Dutcher, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. The flower girl was Miss Beverly Graham.
Orid Gerard of Gloversville, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was the best man. The ushers were John Phillips and Cliff Dutcher. Herbert Graham Jr. was the ring bearer.
The mother of the bride wore a navy dress with matching Jacket, white accessories and a corsage of' of roses. The bridegroom's mother wore an orchid nylon dress with a white hat and a corsage of red roses.
Mrs. John Hulslng was the organist. Norman Pugh of Mayfield sang"Oh Perfect Love," "In a Monastery Garden," "The Lord's Prayer," "I Love thee," "Dreams," "Thou Like a Flower" and "Because."
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents.
For their wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada, Mrs. Case chose a dress of rose with a white picture hat and a white orchid corsage.
The bride attended Gloversville Schools and is employed by the Bridge Manufacturing Corp. Her husband attended Johnstown schools and is employed Liberty Dressing Company.
Guests attended from Maryland, Florida, Utica, Rural Grove, Rockwood and Fort Plain.

BKOADALBIN - Miss Connie J. Sawyer, daughter of Mrs. Jean Sawyer and the late Chester Sawyer, Goodemote Road, Broadalbin was married to George Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lee, Fish House Road, Broadalbin at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Broadalbin United Methodist Church.
Rev. James Lavery of the Galway United Methodist Church officiated. Edward Goodemote, Perth-Galway Road, was the organist and played traditional wedding music. Mrs. Mary Glionna, Johnstown was soloist and rendered "O Promise Me," "I Love You Truly" and "Lord's Prayer."
The bride was given in marriage by Wayne Twiss, brother-in-law of the bride from Grapeville, and was attired in a long white gown of white chiffon organza in Empire style. It was designed with lace scrolled on the round neckline and down the front of the gown which also had tapered sleeves with bridal points.
The separate train fell from the shoulder and was held by bows that were outlined and dotted with lace motifs. Her headpiece was of organza lace petals which held her three tier English veil. She carried a Colonial bouquet of daisies and baby breath around a center of American Beauty rosebuds.
Mrs. Rebecca Twiss, Grapeville, was her sister's matron of honor and she wore a full length gown with a fitted white georgette bodice, high rise neckline adorned with a ruffle and satin buttons down the front of the bodice, long puffed sleeves and it had a semi-fitted skirt of lilac georgette over taffeta. Her headpiece was a double Dior bow with a bouffant veil of lilac and she wore a white carnation corsage outlined with lilac.
Miss Debby Sawyer, Broadalbin, sister of the bride and Mrs. Susie Turo, Hagaman, aunt of the bride were attendants and they wore maize and pink gowns respectively of georgette over taffeta, fitted Empire bodices and long puffed sleeves with full skirts. The necklines had rosebud trim as did the cuffs and empire waist. the matching headpieces were double Dior bows with bouffant veils. Each wore a carnation corsage which matched her gown.
Miss Kathy Sawyer, Broadalbin, sister of the bride was a junior bridesmaid and wore a long turquoise silk chiffon gown designed in a sheath style with fitted bodice and long sleves. The neckline, cuffs and waist were edged with whitelace and turquoise ribbon inserts. Her headpiece was a double Dior bow with a bouffant veil in turqupoise and she wore a carnation corsage.
Gary Romaine, Gloversville, brother of the bridegroom was best man and Lester Kruger
Amsterdam, uncle of the bride, Robert Turo, Hagaman, also an uncle of the bride and James
Rockwell, Broadalbin were ushers.
The mother of the bride wore a butterfly pink silk crepe dress with a jewel and pearl neckline and this also edged the long chiffon sleeves. She wore a pink whimsey and had pink accessories. Her corsage was of yellow rose.
The mother of the bridegroom wore a pink linen A-line dress with a pink whimsey and pink accessories and a yellow rose corsage. The wedding reception for 150 guests was held on the lawn of the bride's home. Guests attended from Scotia, Amsterdam, Gloversville, Johnstown, Hagaman, Hagadorn Mills, Broadalbin, Speculator, and Grapeville.
For a wedding trip to Canada, the bride wore a beige lined coachman style dress with brown and white accessories and a yellow rose corsage. The couple will reside at 21 North Perry Street, Johnstown, after Sept. 1. The bride is a 1970 graduate of the Broadalbin Central School and the bridegroom is a 1964 graduate of the Broadalbin Central School, served in Vietnam and is employed at the Mohawk Wood Products of Broadalbin.
Mrs. Betty Palmer gave a greenback shower at the Scotch Church Grange hall of Mariaville on Aug, 9 and Miss Patricia Lee gave the bride a variety shower at her home in Broadalbin on Aug. 15.

Bobbie Jean Lee, 3 1/2, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lee, Broadalbin RD, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Margaret's Hospital in Albany after a long illness.
She was born in Amsterdam on April 26,1966, the daughter of George and Harriet Romaine Lee.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, George Jr.; a sister, Patricia, and a half-brother, Gary Romaine, all at home; her paternal grandparents, James Lee and
Florence Lee, both of Broadalbin RD; and her maternal grandparents, James Romaine and Ruth Romaine, both of Gloversville.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jeffords Funeral Home, Broadalbin. The Rev. James Boersma, pastor of the Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Mills Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday.

Mrs. Elsie Mae Quackenbush, 54, of 40 North Division St., St. Johnsville, was dead on arrival at Little Falls Hospital Thursday morning after being stricken unexpectedly in her home.
Born in Scotch Bush, Town of Ephratah, Oct. 17,1923, she was the daughter of Frank and Alma Miles DeNure. She was married to Vernard Quackenbush in June, 1942.
She was educated in St. Johnsville Schools and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Robert W. Quackenbush, St. Johnsville RD 1; a daughter, Pamela Sue Quackenbush, at home; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 pm from the Capece Funeral Home, St. Johnsville, with the Rev. Frances Hopfer, pastor of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was made in the Fical cemetery, Town of Ephratah.

Miss Anne Oslpovich was maid of honor and tghe bridesmaids were Miss Louise Vedder and Miss Ida Mary Flander. The best man was Edward LaMountain and the ushers were Lyle Quackenbush and Donald C. Hayes.
The bride wore a gown of white chiffon with lace trimming, the bodice being shirred and the skirt full. She wore a finger-tip veil and halo of yellow roses and carried an arm bouquet with yellow streamers.
The maid of honor wore poudre blue chiffon with pink carnation halo and carried pink caranations. The bridesmaids wore yellow chiffon and pink carnation halos and carried pink carnations.
The bride is a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, Class of 1941, and is a cashier in the Acme store. The bridegroom attended the Little Falls school and is employed by the New York Central Railroad.
About a hundred persons attended the ceremony at the church and about 35 were at the reception which followed at the home of the bride's parents. The day was also the twentieth anniversary of the marriage of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeNure.
The newly wedded couple will reside for the present at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride presented her attendants with silk hose, and Mr. Quackenbush presented the best man and ushers with billfolds. Compacts were presented the organist and soloist.
Pre-nuptial events were given the bride by Mrs. Hester Shumway, a friend; by Mrs. Frank DeNure, her mother; by Miss Anne Oslpovich, her attendant, and by Mrs. Elwood Dempster, her sister-in-law.

William Surnear, 49, of 68 Walnut street, died yesterday morning at 11:30 at St, Mary's hospital, Amsterdam, where he had been a patient since Memorial Day. He had been ill for six weeks.
He was born on February 18, 1893, at Sprakers, a son of Chester and Laura Lambert Surnear.
Mr. Surnear was a veteran of World War I, He enlisted on February 22, 1918, and waa honorably discharged on May 9, 1916 (?). He waa a member of the 307th Regiment, 77th Division, and served 18 months with the A. E, F. in
France. He was a member of the Raymond W. Smith Post. American Legion, and prior to his illness had served as air raid warden for Walnut street
In addition to his wife, Etta Mae Crommer Surnear, he is survived by two sons, Private Kenneth C. Surnear, stationed at Drew Fields, Tampa, Fla., and William Surnear, Jr., of Canajoharie; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Whitbeck, Mrs. Clifford Ballou and Miss Myrtle Surnear, all of Canajoharie; two sisters, Mrs. Michael Kane of Canajoharie and Mrs. Walter Joslin of Grotton, Conn.; two brothers, Leo Surnear of Canajoharie and Raymond Surnear of Corinth.

Jewett A. Whitbeck, 75, of 79 Church street, Canajoharie, died suddenly Saturday night at the Sacandaga Lake cottage of his step daughter. Mrs. Clifford Ballou, where he was visiting.
He was born in Jefferson July 17, 1891, the son of Philo and Cora Palmer Whitbeck. He had lived in Canajoharie for many years and was emploved as a guard at the Beech-Nut Packing Company before his retirement.
Mr Whitbeck was a member of the Jefferson Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta Cromer Whitbeck whom he married June 14, 1947; one daughter. Mrs. Harry Sitterly: two sons, Robert Whitbeck and Lloyd Whitbeck; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ballou and Mrs Lincoln Fralick, all of Canajoharie; two stepsons, Kenneth Surnear, Johnstown, and William Surnear, Canajoharie; one brother, Clifton Whitbeck. Lake Mohonka; 11 grandchildren. five great-grandchildren, several nieces nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Houghtaling Funeral Home,
Canajoharie, with the Rev. Keith Snow, paster of the Canajoharie Methodist Church officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C Cromer of 7 Brookside Avenue today are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were guests of honor at a surprise party given by their family Sunday at the Stuft Shirt. Forty relatives and friends from Johnstown, Gloversville, Mayfield, Amsterdam, Canajoharie and Baltimore, Md., attended.
Cromer, a former businessman, and his wife, the former Mary Higel, were united in marriage Oct. 9, 1923 at the rectory of St. Patrick's Church.
Operator of his own trucking firm for 35 years, Cromer sold the business and retired five years ago, and is currently semiretired, working as a salesman for radio station WIZR.
Active in charitable organizations and financial drives over the years, Cromer is a member, a past president and treasurer of the Rotary Club, and is a past Rotary district governor. He has also served as Rotary district sergeant-atarms. He is a 38-year member of the Eagles Lodge, a .35-year member of the Moose, and is affiliated with the Red Men's and Odd Fellows lodges.
Mrs. Cromer enjoys working around their home, and has special interest in all types of handiwork and flowers. She is a past grand regent of Court Pihta, Catholic Daughters of America; and is a member of the Women of the Moose, the Rotary Anns and the Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Cromer are the parents of three daughters, Mrs. Paul Valaehovic, Mrs. Forrest Howe and Mrs. William Wilmot, all of Johnstown.

JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. - Clarence C. Cromer, 78, of 7 Brookside Ave., died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, following a lengthy illness. Born in Saint Johnsville, he moved to Johnstown in 1926, where he formed the C.C. Cromer trucking business. In 1934 he purchased the Sylvester France trucking business and in 1949 he bought the Ramsey trucking business, merging both into his firm. He served as deputy sheriff for 45 years and auxiliary police chief for 22 years. He was past president of Rotary International District 719 and was director of Rotary's two-year nominating committee and a three-time Rotarian governor's aide. He was past director of Johnstown Babe Ruth league and Johnstown Little League. He served as director of the Chamber of Commerce in 1960 and Community Chest in 1959. He was manager of the American Legion All Girl Drum Corps for eight years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and belonged to the Johnstown 50-plus Senior Citizens, the Gloversville 55-plus Senior Citizens and the Moose, I.O.O.F., and Eagles clubs.

Miss Lois Cromer, Johnstown, whose marriage to F. Forrest Howe Jr., this city, will take place at Johnstown tomorrow, has been honored at a number of bridal parties, the most recent being a dinner given at Isabel's Tavern by Mrs. Lewis Russo and Miss Dorothy Ashley. Twenty-eight guests were present, all. with the exception of Miss Joan Howe, sister of Miss Cromer's fiance, being graduate nurses of St. Mary's Hospital of which the prospective bride is also a graduate.
The table centerpiece was a large, decorated wedding cake. Miss Cromer received personal gifts and a corsage of gardenias.
Another pre-nuptlal shower was given by Mrs. Emmett Higel, Mrs. Paul Valachovlc and Miss Shirley Cromer at the Cromer home in Johnstown, attended by guests from Amsterdam, Gloversville and Johnstown. A color scheme of pink, white and blue was carried out in the decorations and an arrangement of daffodils, narcissi and forget-me-nots formed the table centerpiece. A buffet luncheon was served.
Mr. Howe was entertained by friends at a stag party at the Hill Top in Tribes Hill recently and was presented a purse. Those attending were John Knapik, Bernard Whelly. JOHNSTOWN - Mrs. Mable H. Hassfurter, 63, of Amsterdam RD 5 died Saturday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, where she had been admitted that morning.
Born in St. Johnsville, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Fountain Cromer, and had been an Amsterdam area resident since 1945.
Mrs. Hassfurter was a laundry worker, last employed by the Alexander Rest Home in Amsterdam, retiring in 1967 due to ill health. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Hagaman.
Survivors include her widower, John Hassfurter; five daughters, Mrs. Harold Bruce of Star Route, Hagaman, Mrs. Andre LaPorte, Mrs. Howard Fonda, Mrs. Cyril Romleski, and Mrs. Peter Delos, all of Hagaman; two sons, John Hassfurter Jr. of Fort Johnson, and Clarence of Amsterdam RD 1; a sister, Mrs. Etta Whitbeck of Canajoharie; three brothers, Clarence C. Cromer of Johnstown, Myron and Harvey Cromer, both of Gloversville; 36 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 a.m. at the A. G. Cole Funeral Home, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, Hagaman. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Miss Madelyn Jean Hassfurter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hassfurter, Amsterdam R.D. 5, became the bride of Cyril Romleski. son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Romleski, Hagaman. Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Stephen's Church. The Rev. Richard R. Mason officiated,
ganist (sic), played the wedding marches and sang ""Ave Maria" and "Mother Dear" during the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father; wore white satin and lace embroidered with rhinestones and a beaded crown with a fingertip veil. She carried a cascade of white camellias and stephanotis.
Miss Elizabeth Hassfurter, sister of me bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of lavender net and matching, flower-trimmed headdress and carried a spray of yellow pompons.
The bridegroom's brother, Francis Romleski, acted as best man and John Hassfurter Jr., brother of the bride, was usher.
The mother of the bride wore a navy blue dress and white hat while the bridegroom's mother was attired in a black and white dress and black hat. Both had corsages of red roses.
A reception was held in the church hall after the ceremony.
Mrs. Romleski is employed by the Chalmers Knitting Co., and Mr. Romleski by the Mohawk Carpet Mills. They plan to reside in Hagaman.
Out of town guests at the wedding were from Gloversville, Northville, Johnstown and Schenectady.
