VAN HORNESVILLE (UPI) - Worthington Burns, 58, and his wife Ethel, 53, of Fort Plain, were killed Thursday night when their car collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 80 near this Herkimer County village.
State police said the truck driver, George E. Desgroselliers Jr., 29, of Starkville, tried to avoid the Burn's car which was on the wrong side of the road. His truck hit a tree, however, and the trailer swung back on the road and hit the auto.
The rig driver was reported in good condition at Herkimer Hospital.
