Richard H. Warner of Collamer, NY, passed away Tuesday at Crouse Hospital after a short illness. Born in Baldwinsville, NY on October 17, 1928 to Henry and Rosina Warner. Normally referred to as "Dick" or "Gus", Dick also served his country faithfully in the U.S Air Force during the Korean Conflict. For 25 years, he was employed by the A&P Tea Co. Gus was an avid race car fan going to dirt races with his son and grandson. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Sparrow. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Mary Comrie; a son, Richard (Denise); a grandson, Brandan (Jamey); and a great-grandson, Blake Warner; four sisters, Virginia Sage of Manlius, Dorothy Wiley of York, PA, Ann Filipelli of York, PA and Shirley Marzullo of Penneville; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald of Adams, NY and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Burns-Garfield Funeral Home with burial in White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt, NY. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 3175 E. Genesee St., Syracuse. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

V. G. Sullivan performed the double ring ceremony in his home. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Adams, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, were honor attendants.
The bride wore a grey and white cotton brocade dress with white accessories.
Mrs. Comrie, a graduate of Cooper High School, attended Draughon’s Business College and Texas Tech. She is now employed in the Great Plains Life Building.
The bridegroom is stationed at Reese Air Force Base. After he completes his tour of duty in July, the couple will make their home in New York.

MOHAWK - Walter Harris, 35 of 6 North St., died Wednesday night as a result of an automobile accident on Route 28.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center. Oneida County coroner, Dr. Albert C. Redmond ruled the death as accidental.
Mr Harris was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Tauroygen, Lithuania. He married Sandra Lake of Mohawk on Nov. 14, 1959 in Dolgeville.
Mr. Harris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Dolgeville, the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge, and Crowley Barnum Post, American Legion.
He was a veteran of the Marines and the Army.
He had been employed by the Bendix Corporation and the Square Stamping Manufacturing Corp. of Barneveld.
Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Nadine and Pennie, both at home; his mother Mrs. Anna Hajeris of Ilion; two brothers, Richard Hajeris, Herkimer; and Gerhart Hajeris, Barneveld: six sisters, Mrs. William (Martha) Alguire, Ilion: Mrs. Robert (Zena) Brown and Miss J. Hajeris, both of Utica: Mrs. Victor (Selma) Valis, Little Falls; Mrs. Charles (Alma) Dickson, Mohawk; and Mrs. Theodore (Olga) Snell, Washington.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Murphy Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by the Crowley Barnum Post.
Burial will be in Mohawk Cemetery.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Lake, 64 W. Main St. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Evaldas Hajeris, of 3 Howard St, Dolgeville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of white organza over ice blue taffeta and net. She wore and ice blue fingertip veil, caught to a seed pearl headpiece, and carried a colonial bouquet of blue and white roses.
Maid of honor, Miss Joanne Loefler wore a gown of dark blue taffeta with light blue trim and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Junior bridesmaid, Miss Barbara Lake, bride's sister, and bridesmaid, Miss Jane Hajeris, wore similar gowns but of light blue trimmed with dark blue. They carried pink colonial bouquets.
Edvin Hajeris acted as best man. Ushers were Gary Hajeris and Richard Atkins.
Following a reception at Dopp's Inn, Dolgeville, the couple left for a wedding trip to Montreal, Canada. They will reside at 34 Otsego St. Ilion.
The bride graduated from Mohawk Central School and attended Cazenovia Junior College. The bridegroom, a graduate of Dolgeville High School, is employed by Chicago Pneumatic Co.
Pre-nuptial events were given by the Misses Loefler, Jane Hajeris and Lake.

HARTWICK, NY — William R. Grup, 76, of county Highway No. 16, town of Exeter, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Gloversville, son of the late William and Florence Chesbrough Grup.
William was raised in Gloversville and was a graduate of Gloversville High School.
An honorably discharged United States Navy veteran, he served in the Pacific during World War II.
On Dec. 31, 1949, he married the former S. Patricia Lake in Colorado Springs, Colo. After a loving and devoted union of 50 years, she preceded him in death on March 1, 2000.
For 33 years, Mr. Grup worked in the shipping and receiving department of the Remington Arms Company, retiring in 1983. A resident of Hartwick since 1962, he and his wife came from Ilion.
William had a true sense of community. He had served as Exeter town councilman and for more than 16 years as town justice. He was a member of the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department; Schuyler Lake Lodge No. 162 F&AM, where he served as Master in 1972; a Past Patron in 1972; and member of Arbutus Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Richfield Springs; Scout Master of the Schuyler Lake Boy Scout Troop; an assistant coach with the Richfield Springs Little League in 1970, as well as a member of the Exeter Historical Society and Winfield Vets Club.
To all who knew Bill, they will remember him as a warm, friendly, caring man who was always there to help others. He will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving him are a son, William and his wife, Laura Grup, of Richfield Springs; two daughters, Sharon and her husband, Alan Dutton, of Cooperstown, and Theresa Schweitzer of Felton, Pa.; one sister, Doris Klusner of Arizona; five grandchildren, Kristen and Kyle Grup, Lindsey and Neil Dutton and Patrick Schweitzer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents and wife, Pat, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Grup, one brother, Howard Grup, and a sister, Eleanor Mazano.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs, with the Rev. John Young officiating.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday evening for services at 8 p.m.
Interment in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length dress of winter white garbardine, with three-quarter length sleeves and a high neck line. She had a short bolero jacket of matching material with pink accessories. She wore a corsage of pink roses.
The maid of honor. Miss Beverly Millington. Fort Plain RD 1, was attired in a street length dress of rose garbardine with black acresories and wore a corsage of white carnations.
The best man was Menzo Case, Johnstown, a cousin of the bride.

Thie bride's mother wore a street length dress of black silk jersey with red accessories She had a corsage of red carnations. The bridegrooms mother wore an acqua blue suit trimmed with angora with black accessories and worw a corsage of pink carnations.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride. A buffet lunch was served and the table was decorated white candles. The couple cut a decorated four-tier wedding cake.
Guests were from St. Johnsville, Ephratah, Canajoharie, Fort Plain, Johnstown and Utica.
The couple left on a motor trip fro a week through the Catskills.
For a traveling outfit, the bride chose a navy blue gabardine suit with red accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations.
The bride was graduated from St. Johnsville High School in 1955 and is employed as a secretary in the offic eof Luxuray Mills in Fort Plain.
The groom attended the Oppenheim - Ephratah School and is employed as a truck drive for the Town of Ephratah.
Upon their return they will take up their residence at St. Johnsville RD 1. The bride was given showers by Miss Doris Sweet, her sister, Mrs. Ruth Case, and aunt and Mrs. alvada Fassett.

Marion C. Saltsman Jr., 58, of Amsterdam, died Thursday, Feb. 10, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after being stricken at work.
Mr. Saltsman was bom Jan. 23, 1936, in Amsterdam, the son of Marion C. and Thelma Carter Saltsman Sr. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed as lab technician for the last 17 years at Huasmann
Corp, of Gloversville. Previously, he had been employed for Robinson and Smith.
Mr. Saltsman was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army as radio technician.
He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
On Dec. 3. 1973, he was married to Eleanor O’Day.
Survivors, beside his widow, include a daughter, Sara Saltsman of Amsterdam; five stepdaughters, Colleen Baker, Amy Corridon and Carrie Zepperi, all of Amsterdam, Lori Boschelli of Fort Plain and Lisa Corridon of Denver, a sister, Donna Fitzgerald of Glens Falls; a brother, Robert Saltsman of Gloversville; four grandchildren and two nieces.
Funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 12, ar Boice Funeral Home, Amsterdam. Burial will be in the spring in St. Peter s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.

Eleanor Letitia O'Day Saltsman, 85, of Amsterdam passed away peacefully on November 6, 2019.
Born on January 14, 1934, Eleanor was the daughter of John "Jack" O'Day and Eleanor Letitia Gaffney O'Day.
She attended local schools and resided in Amsterdam for her entire life, while also cherishing her family roots in Saratoga Springs.
Eleanor was a lifelong caregiver and was a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than 25 years.
She loved doing the crossword every day, and was an avid reader, devouring almost every mystery and spy novel at the Amsterdam Free Library.
She was immensely proud of her Irish heritage, and fulfilled a lifetime dream of visiting the Emerald Isle in 1993.
She hosted a well-attended annual St. Patrick's Day celebration, where all were welcome. She loved being the matriarch of her large Irish family, which consisted of her seven daughters and extended family and friends. Her door was always open, and the coffee pot always on.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Marion "Salzy" Saltsman, daughter, Barbara Corridon, and siblings, William and Henrietta O'Day.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Baker (the late Richard Baker), Lori Rambler (Joseph Rambler), Lisa Sharpe, Amy Stegman (the late Rob Stegman), Carrie Hazzard and Sara Saltsman (Patrick Pryor); nine grandchildren, Carly Baker (Joe Newborn), Chantel Smith (Rich Smith), Amanda Corridon (Lucas Schaufelberg), Jeffrey Zepperi, Jack Sharpe, Anne Stegman, Claire Sharpe, Nicholas Pryor and Natalie Pryor; six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Josiah and Kaylee Newborn, Olivia Knudsen, Violet Smith and AysahZepperi; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
During the last few years, Eleanor was lovingly cared for by several caregivers, for which her family is eternally grateful.
Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 150 West Avenue in Saratoga Springs.

Marriage Notes for Pauline Walrath and Calvin Frederick Coso

ST. JOHNSVILLE, May 14. — Miss Pauline Walrath, daughter of Mrs. Raymond Walrath and Calvin Coso, son of Mrs. Frank Coso, of Stone Arabia, were married Friday night in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Franklin J. Schweiger.
The church was decorated with palms and apple blossoms, and the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Marion Saltsman.
The bride wore a white satin gown, with net overdress, and fingertip veil attached to a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book, topped with a spray of white roses.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Lyndon Dillenbeck, sister of the bridegroom. Mrs. Paul Birk, another sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Barbara Bierman, were bridesmaids. Both wore coral lace dresses, with net overdress, matching hats and accessories, and bouquets similar to that of the matron of honor.
The best man was Frank Coso. brother of the bridegroom, and the ushers were Leonard Saltsman, Fort Plain, and Bernard Mancini, a local service man now stationed at Holyoke, Mass.
Prior to the ceremony Miss Betty Hayes sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly." Miss Beatrice Williams of Herkimer was the organist
The ceremony was followed by a reception in the Community House, given by the bride's mother. Donna Saltsman of Amsterdam entertained with tap dances, accompanied on the piano by Miss Williams.
The bride is a graduate of the St. Johnsville Central School, class of 1943, and attended Syracuse University. Mr. Coso attended Canajoharie High School, and is engaged in farming in Stone Arabia. After a trip to Niagara Falls, they will reside at the bridegroom's farm beginning May 16.
