She worked until her illness last year at Henry F. Mitchell Co. in King of Prussia, PA for the past 22 years. She was a member of Norriton Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and one of the founders of the Church Sunday School. She received a Bronze Statue for her volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America. She was an Avid Bowler and Gardener. She was born Johnstown, Fulton Co, NY on September 21, 1936 a daughter of the late A. Brownell Wock and the late Mae (Thayer) Wock. Surviving in addition to her husband are the following: husband of the past 45 years, Walter F. Farrell, Bridgeport, PA; sons, Michael B. Farrell, Ambler, PA, Mark P. Farrell, Buffalo, NY, Matthew T. Farrell, Ambler, PA, Patrick W. Farrell, Bath, NY; daughter, Lizabeth P. Shertz, Plymouth Meeting, PA; 4 grandchildren. Walter F Farrell Jr

  Walter Francis Farrell, Jr., age 84, of Huntingtown, MD, formerly of Elmira, NY and Blue Bell, PA, passed away on July 13, 2014.
  Born September 7, 1929 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Walter (Sr.) and Madeline (Ayres) Farrell. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 45 years, Helen (Wock); eldest son, Michael B.; and sister, Catherine (Farrell) Zaparzynski.
  He is survived by daughter, Lizabeth P. (Farrell) Shertz and son-in-law, Michael Shertz of Blue Bell, PA; 3 sons, Mark P. of Buffalo, NY, Matthew T. of Ambler, PA, and Patrick W. of Huntingtown, MD; 2 sisters, Patricia (Farrell) Finnerty of Bath, NY and Julia (Farrell) Rose of Groton, CT; and 5 loving grandchildren, Michael and Danielle Shertz, Kyle Price, Meagan Kelly Farrell and Kelisha Moran; and many nieces and nephews.
  Walt graduated from Southside High School, Elmira, NY in 1947 and The University of Toronto, St. Michael's College, Toronto, Canada in 1951.
  He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during the Korean War.
  He was plant manager of Remington Rand in Elmira, NY. He retired from Unisys, Blue Bell, PA in 1983.
  Walt was an avid sports fan and he coached his children in basketball and baseball at Southport Rec in the 1960's and 1970's.
  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to The Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Boulevard, Norristown, PA 19401.
  Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service to celebrate Walt's life on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Southside, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, NY. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.

  HERMITAGE, TENNESSEE – Marguerite C. Kramer, 96, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8. She was born in Cameron Mills on Aug. 21, 1913.
   She was married to Roger  F. Kramer for over 65 years. He died Feb. 9, 2003. She is survived by a son, James (Gloria) of Naples, Florida; daughter, Jeanene (Robert) Kinnius of Hermitage, Tennessee; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  
   A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. Memorials may be sent to Odyssey (Hospice) in Nashville, Tennessee.

  Born in Ephratah, he was employed as a controlling clerk by Baker-Beech-Nut's strained foods department in Canajoharie, for 34 years, retiring in 1963.
  He was a member of St. John's-St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
  Survivors include his wife, the former Nellie Cook; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Waite of Palatine Bridge; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Lasher of Nelliston; a brother, Claude Nellis of Utica; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  George M. Everson, 73, died at the home of his son, Richard Everson, San Diego, Calif., Thursday following a long illness.
   He was born at Palatine  Church March 4,1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W.
Everson. For many years he conducted a dairy farm at Palatine Church and also
operated Everson's Dairy in the Fort Plain and St. Johnsville area.
   He was married to the  former Lovina Palmateer Oct 24, 1925.
   Survivors include his  widow; a son and a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Doris) Knight, Temje, Ariz.; five grand children and one great grandchild.
   Funeral services were held Saturday at the Clairemount Monastery in the Town of San Diego. Interment was in San Diego.

  Mr. Gilbert Palmateer, 72, of RI) 2, (Route 10). Fort Plain, died Friday night at his home following a long illness
  Born Aug. 28, 1913, in Ephratah, Fulton County, he was a son of Sidney and Jennie Cook Palmateer. He moved with his family to the Palatine Church area of the Town of Palatine in 1925 and had since always resided in that township.
  Mr. Palmateer was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church of East Stone Arabia and was a trustee, a member of the administrative board and a member of the Men's Missionary Society of the church.
  During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater and was a member of Mohawk Valley VFW Post 3275 and Morris Edwards Post American Legion, St. Johnsville.
  In 1948, he purchased the Everson Dairy and in 1959 combined it with others to form Tri-Town Dairies. In 1972, he formed Palmateer Feed Milling Service, which he operated until retiring in 1975.
  He is survived by his widow, the former Ada Voght, whom he married Jan. 5, 1947; three sons, Allan Palmateer of Saratoga Springs, Robert Palmateer and Mark Palmateer both of Johnstown; six daughters. Mrs. Kayleen Muscarella of Medina, Mrs. Victoria Matteson of Canajoharie RD 1, Mrs. Jeannette Byroad of Fort Plain, Mrs Linda Garretson of Canajoharie, Mrs. Patricia Keller of Fort Plain and Miss Laura Palmateer of Norfolk Va.; a sister, Mrs. Lavina Everson of San Diego; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p m at Salem United Methodist Church of East Stone Arabia with the Rev Adelina Bowley, pastor and the Rev Robert Jewell former pastor, officiating Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring.
  Memorial may he made to the Alzheimers Foundation.


Ada Mae Voght

  Mrs. Ada M. Palmateer, 87, most recently of Gloversville, formerly of Fort Plain, New York died peacefully, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home in Gloversville.
  Born on June 3, 1928 in the Town of Palatine, NY, she was the daughter of Victor Voght and Jessie Clark Voght. She was educated at the former Stone Arabia School House and was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Palmateer was a mother and homemaker. She also worked with her husband, Gilbert, at the Tri-Town Dairy, running the Dairy Bar in Canajoharie. She sold Stanley Home Products, Electrolux, and worked for the St. Johnsville Shoe Factory.
  Mrs. Palmateer was a past member of the Salem United Methodist Church for many years and was a current member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church. She was a Lay Minister at Salem United Methodist Church and Ephratah Methodist Church, which she took great pride in. She loved music and sang at many different places, entertaining Seniors with the Kazoo Band, and brought joy and laughter with her yodeling; other favorite past times included working in the family garden and canning with her husband. She enjoyed playing cards and spending quality time in the kitchen baking goodies with her grandchildren.
  On January 5, 1947, Ada was married to Gilbert Palmateer. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1986. She was also predeceased by sons, Robert Palmateer in 2004, Allan Palmateer in 2008; brother, Herbert Voght in the 1970’s and an infant brother.
   Mrs. Palmateer is survived by her daughters, Victoria L. Matteson of Canajoharie, NY, Jeanette A. Byroad of Athen, TN, Linda K. Garretson of Palatine Bridge, NY, Patricia E. Palmateer of Cleveland, TN, Laura L. Famiglietti of Gloversville, NY; son, Mark I. Palmateer and Kelly of Jordanville, NY; brother, Clifford R. Voght of Dolgeville, NY; sister, Clara E. Fredericks of Ilion, NY; sister-in-law, Alberta A. Voght of Fonda, NY; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 at 10:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Cammilus Mourice officiating. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

   The bridesmaid was Miss Clara Voght, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Lovina Everson, Palatine church, sister of the bridegroom was matron of honor. George Everson, also of Palatine Church, was best man. Richard and Willis Voght, cousin of the bride, were ushers, while Clifford Voght, brother of the bride was ring bearer.
   The bride was employed at Beech-Nut Packing Company, Canajoharie, while the bridegroom, who served in the Navy during the war is now employed by Mosher Auto Sales, Watertown. The couple are making their home at 70S Washington street Watertown.

  Mr. Robert S. Palmateer, 52, of Miami, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 20, 2004, with his two sisters by his side at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami following a brief illness.
   He was born in Little Falls, NY on May 5, 1952, the son of Gilbert S. Palmateer and Ada Voght Palmateer. Mr. Palmateer was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1971. He was employed as a receptionist at the Bayview Day Treatment Center in Miami since 1996. He was a resident of Miami for over 20 years, previously residing in the local area.
  He was of the Methodist faith. Robert enjoyed reading, music and playing golf and basketball. He also enjoyed all outdoor activities with his family. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert S. Palmateer, who died on January 24, 1986.
  Survivors include his mother, Ada Mae Palmateer of Fort Plain, NY; five sisters, Victoria L. Matteson of Canajoharie, NY, Jeanette A. Allen of Apison, TN, Linda K. Garretson of Wyantskill, NY, Patricia E. Keller of Ooltewah, TN, Laura L. Fonda of Johnstown, NY; two brothers, Allan Palmateer of Ooltewah, TN, Mark J.   Corp. Clyde Failing, husband of Mrs. Marcia Falling of 14 Myrtle avenue, is spending a 30-day Furlough here from the Fitzsimons General hospital of Denver, Colo.
   He is recuperating from wounds  received in France in July, for which he received the purple heart.
   A former employe of the post Office, Corporal Falling was inducted March, 1943, and trained at Fort Devens, Mass., with the combat engineers. He was sent overseas in December, 1943. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Failing of 1084 Dean street.

  Rasbach Cares for Wounded On 5th Army Front in Italy
  With the Fifth Amy, Italy —  Staff Sergeant Raymond F. Rasbach of Middleville, New York, has been caring for wounded of the 88th "Blue Devil" Infantry Division for more than a year on the Fifth Army front in Italy. He is chief of a surgical team in Company B of the 313th Medical Battalion, Rasbach and his team work in the collecting company, caring for casualties brought in from the battlefield and infantry battalion aid stations. Wounded never are kept long at the collecting point, but are evacuated to rear installations for treatment as soon as possible after being checked and given additional aid. Rasbach. himself, was a casualty, two days after the start of the drive to Rome, May 13, 1944, when he was hit by shell fragments. He later was awarded the Purple Heart. Entering the service at Fort Niagara, New York, in 1942, Rasbach has been a member of the 88th Division since it was activated at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, in July, 1942. The 88th, commanded by Major General Paul W. Kendall, was the first all-Selective Service infantry division to enter combat in this war. The sergeant is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond M. Rasbach of Middleville, New York. His wife, Mrs. Mary P. Rasbach, resides at 361 Tremont street, North Tonawanda.

  An attractive informal home ceremony was solemnized in North Tonawanda Saturday, when Miss Mary Adelaide Pease became tha bride of Raymond Failing Raabach of Tonawanda.
   The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Herbert Miner Pease formerly of Lockport, the wedding being performed in the presence of the immediate family and a few friends at her home, 367 Tremont street. North Tonawanda, at 2:30, the Rev. Hayden performing the ceremony.
   George H Cramer gave his granddaughter in marriage and she was attended by Miss Margaret Weber of North Tonawanda. Elton Bream of Gasport was best man.
   The bride wore a dress of green velvet and a corsage of gardenias. Miss Weber wore burgundy velvet with a corsage of talisman roses. Gladioli and chrysanthemums were used to carry out a color scheme of green and white decorating the home.  
   The bride's traveling suit was of green wool and she wore over it a fur coat. The couple will make their home at 52 Park avenue, Tonawanda. Raymond M. Rasbach of Middleville was among the out-of-town guests.

  Evelyn May Rasbach, 86, passed away on Monday October 1, 2014. She was born October 8, 1927 in Amsterdam, NY.
  She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years Paul Irving Rasbach.
  Evelyn attended Russell Sage College for Women in Troy, New York and received a Masters Degree of Education from Miami University, Ohio. She taught elementary school and was a principal while in Maryland. In Greens Hills and Forest Hills Ohio, she was a middle school teacher, reading specialist, resource teacher, instructional analyst and elementary principal. They moved to Hilton Head in 1986.
  Evelyn will be buried in a private service in Beaufort National Cemetery.
  Arrangements entrusted to the Island Funeral Home and Crematory.

  The Rev. Daniel D. Brox performed the ceremony. The chancel of the church was decorated with palms, white gladioli and candelabra. Traditional wedding music was played by the organist, Mrs. Ernest Robinson.
  Miss Christine Saraflanos, Brooklyn, was maid of honor and Miss Helen Bailey, Albany, was bridesmaid. Robert P. Bugbee, Morristown, N. J., acted as best man and the ushers were DeWitt Lounsberry, New York, cousin of the bridegroom, and Charles Barg, Linden, N. J.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown, of ivory duchess satin, styled with a nylon yoke, double petal bertha, basque waist and cathedral train. She wore a veil of French illusion gathered to a beaded satin cap and carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley.
  Miss Sarafianos wore a rose satin gown and bonnet and Miss Bailey was similarly dressed in sea foam green satin. Yellow roses formed their bouquets.
  Mrs. Rasbach is a graduate of Russell Sage College and Mr. Rasbach of the West Canada Valley Central School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. They will make their home in Ann Arbor, Mich.

  THE WEDDING of Miss Wendy Sue Rasbach and Ens. K. David Knight took place recently at White Oak Christian Church. The Rev. Jerry Kirk officiated and a reception was at Holiday Inn North.
  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul I. Rasbach of Cincinnati. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth A. Knight of Cincinnati.
  Maid of honor was Miss Barbara Rasbach of Cincinnati. Other attendants were the Misses Malia Dourson, Sue Fricke and Debbie Little, all of Cincinnati.
  Best man was Tlmmothy Knight of Cincinnati. Ushers were Jerry Bowes of Orlando Fla.; Gill Ryan of Nashville, Tenn., and Barry Flsel of Cincinnati. Arch of Sabres included Lt. Dave Taylor, Lt. Pete Burdett, Lt. Clint Burdett and Ens. Dave Hollin-berger, all of the United States Navy.
  Following a wedding trip to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Pensacola, Fla.
  The bride is a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. The bridegroom attended Vanderbilt University.

Eleanor Ives

  Eleanor Ives Roof, age 96 of Port Charlotte, Florida, and formerly of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Roof, and the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Garrison Ives. Mrs. Roof was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Class of 1938, Boston University and University of Bridgeport where she received her six year degree. She was a longtime Remedial Reading Specialist in the Westport School System and thoroughly enjoyed every day she spent in class with "her kids." Survivors include her loving children; sons, Richard Roof and his wife Marylou, of Trumbull; and Ronald Roof and his wife, Lorraine of Fairfield; daughter, Patricia Roof of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren, Andrea Caggiano and her husband, Jay, of Simsbury; Brian Roof and his wife, Tanya, of North Branford; Shawn Roof and his wife, Erin, of Bridgeport; Jeffrey Roof of Fairfield, and Michael Roof and his wife, Grishan, of Los Angeles. She was known as GG (Great Grandma) to her five loving great grandchildren; Alexander Roof, Evan Roof, Erika Roof, Regina Caggiano, and A.J. Caggiano. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Hazel Hutchinson, Mildred "Petie" Willett, and her brother, Raymond Ives. She will be sadly missed for her family stories, which never failed to get a laugh, her generosity, her wisdom and her positive view of life.

  Miss Eleanor Ives, daughter of Raymond F. Ives, Fairfield, Conn., and PFC Richard Roof, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Roof, this village, were married October 8 at North Chapel Camp, Murphy, Fla., by Chaplain Bancroft. PFC and Mrs. Francis Martin of Metropolis, Ill., were the attendants.
   Mr. and Mrs. Leo Roof, Fort Plain, attended the wedding. Both bride and bridegroom are graduates of Boston University, where Mrs. Roof majored in the School of Education and PFC Roof in College of Business Administration. For the present they will reside near North Chapel Camp, where PFC Roof is stationed.
