The bride, a graduate of Moorestown, High School and Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, is a research assistant with Wyeth Laboratories, Radnor. Her husband graduated from Cham-bersburg Area Senior High School and West Chester State College. He is manager of Tool Town Store, Exton.

FORT PLAIN - Mrs. Mamie Lawson, 61, of 50 Division St, wife of Ralph Lawson, died Dec. 22 in her home.
She was born in Fort Plain, daughter of Alexander and Frances Spoar McCauley. She was married to Mr. Lawson in 1922 in St Johnsville. Mrs. Lawson had been employed as a clerk in the Ben Franklyn Store and the Farm and Home Store for more than 20 years. She was a member of St James Church and a member of the Canajoharie Women of the Moose.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter. Mrs. Harley Flanders, Fort Plain, and a brother, Frank McCauley, Johnstown.
The funeral will be at 9 Monday from St. James Church with the Rev. John J. Sullivan offering a requiem Mass. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Ralph T. Lawson, 78, Main Street, Fort Plain, died Friday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. born March 22, 1902 in Fort Plain, he was the son of Thomas and Susan Devan Lawson. He was married to the late Mamie McCauley Aug. 28, 1922 in Fort Plain. She died Dec. 22, 1966. He was employed for many years by the Yerdon Ice Cream Company, and later by Bauder Gas and Electric Company as a refrigerator specialist, retiring in 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harley Flanders, Fort Plain; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Komenko, Hicksville, and Mrs. Effie Shanahan, Herkimer; seven grandchildren. Service were held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Gray Funeral Home with the rev. Michael Hartney, pastor of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial was made in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Funeral services were held last Thursday morning at 11 a.m. in Reading, Pa. The body was placed in the family mausoleum.

The wedding of Miss Elizabeth Mary Pavlovic, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pavlovic of 15 Rosewood avenue, to Frank Edward McCauley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McCauley of Fort Plain, was solemnized at 3 Saturday afternoon at St. Cyril and Methodist church.
The nuptial ceremony was performed by Rev. Rudolph Typit, pastor, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends of the young couple. Mrs. Typit, wife of the pastor, presided at the organ and rendered vocal solos during the ceremony.
Attending the young couple were Miss Mildred E. Pollak of this city, who was the bridesmaid, and Garner A. Beck of Fort Plain, who was the best man.
The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of white chiffon, with lace tulle veil caught up with gardenias. She wore white slippers and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid was gowned in a dress of ashes of roses crepe, with hat and slippers to match, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
A wedding dinner was Served at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony, and was attended by 30 relatives and friends. Later in the day the couple left#on a trip to New York and Reading, Pa.
The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High school, class of 1928. Mr. McCauley was graduated from the Fort Plain High school, class of 1929, and attended Albright College, Reading, Pa.

Barbara (Foppes) Chesebrough, 86, formerly of 16 Concord Street Ilion, passed away Monday November 7, 2011 at Mohawk Valley Health Care, Ilion.
Barb was born September 15, 1925 in Herkimer the daughter of the late John and Sara Bateman Foppes, and received her education in the Ilion School System [IHS 1943] and Utica School of Commerce.
On August 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to David F. Chesebrough in Ilion, Dave passed away September 20, 1990.
Barb was employed as an Accounting Supervisor with Mohawk Data Sciences in Herkimer until her retirement several years ago.
Barb was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ilion, a charter member of Ilion Triangle, and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 82 in Ilion.
Barb is survived by a son David of Virginia, three daughters and their spouses Debra and Raymond Egland of Ilion, Denise Mc Graw of Ilion , Barbara and Jeffrey Kotary of Little Falls, and nine grand children.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside services to be held on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Armory Hill Cemetery Ilion with Rev. Victor McKusick officiating. In keeping with Barb's wishes there are no calling hours. Third Ave., Saturday afternoon, August 10, 1946, at 2 p. m. in the First Methodist church. Rev. A. O. Judd, Ilion, former pastor of the Methodist church, officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Guy Foppes, Syracuse, sister-in-law of the bride was matron of honor, while Herbert Hansel, Ilion, was best man.
The bridesmaids were Miss Marilyn Bellinger and Miss Mary Jane Gollegly, both of Syracuse, Miss Jenna Hillard and Miss Eleanor Travis of Ilion. Guy Foppes, Syracuse was head usher and other ushers were William Remmers, Carl Van Wiggeren and Robert Bennett.
The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, Edward Bateman, Ilion, wore a white satin and net gown with knee length veil and carried a bridal bouquet of roses and orchids. Her matron of honor wore a white gown with a corsage of red roses, while the bridesmaids wore gowns of pink and blue marquisette with matching headdresses. They carried colonial bouquets.
Wedding music was furnished by Miss Clara Burdick, soloest, and Miss Pauline Hartleb, organist.
A reception was held alter the ceremony in the home of the bride. The couple then left on a wedding trip through northern New York State and New York City. Upon their return they will reside in Ilion.
Guests attended from Syracuse, Amsterdam, Scotia, Boston, Newport and Florida.
The bride was a graduate from Ilion high school and attended the Utica School of Commerce before accepting employment with the Ilion office of the Central New York Power Corporation. Mr. Chesebrough was also graduated from Ilion high and was recently discharged from the Navy. He expects to enter Syracuse University at a later date.

Mrs. Mary M. Smith, 91, of Gloversville, died Friday, Sept. 26, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, after a short illness.
She was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Johnstown and was the daughter of Alvin and Anna Shell Morrison.
She attended Johnstown schools and was a life-long area resident.
She was carried by her husband, Roosevelt "Rosie" Smith, into eternal life where they will continue to be together ever lasting.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Ephratah Reformed Church, Western Fulton County Senior Citizens and the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include her children, Audry Christman of Edinburgh, Ronals (Eleanor) Smith, Harold Berry Jr., both of Ephratah, Gerald Smith of Danby, Vermont, Charles (Shirley) Berry of Garoga, alvin (Maureen) Berry of Florida; on sister, Margaret "Peg" Brown of Warrensburg; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and neices and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by gndson Kevin Berry, brothers Alvin and Beverly Morrison and a daughter Marilyn Heroth.
Funeral services will take place on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Ephratah Reformed Church, 4306, Rt. 10, St. Johnsville, NY 13452.
Arrangements are by the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.
