  Emma Finkenbinder, 82, of Jacksonville, died June 28, 2005, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
  The funeral was held July 2, 2005, at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona chapel.  Interment followed at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach, FL.
  She was a member of the Port Orange United Methodist Church and the ladies group.  She was a professional seamstress and a life member of the VFW Post 3282 Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sloat and Alice Getman; husband, Carl Finkenbinder; and daughter Janice E. Basu.
  Survivors include her sons, Charles Finkenbinder of Norfolk, VA, and Frank Finkenbinder of Jacksonville; daughter, Susan Trombino of Massena, NY; sister, Marjorie Elmquist of Elmira, NY; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Memorial contributions may be made in Emma's memory to the American Cancer Society, 146 Orange, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

  Chemung: Was born April 21, 1925 in Chemung, NY, the daughter of the late Jay Sloat and Alice Mae (Greene) Getman, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Rosie, on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, surrounded by her loving, devoted and caring family. Her beloved husband of 51 years, Leonard W. Elmquist, siblings, Millie, Emma, Glenn and Pete predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children, Nancy White of Elmira, NY; Dawn (James) Elmquist-McCarrick of Felton, CA; Roseanna (Donald) Zifchock of Trumansburg, NY; Julie (Cindy) Elmquist-Hill of Menlo Park, CA; Lenny (Lee) Lewis-Elmquist of Catskills Mountains, NY; adored grandchildren, Shanda, Shane, Serena, Benjamin, Michael and Tiffany; James, Erik and Andrea; Magon, Mark, Jeremy and Jessica; along with 16 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Marge always gave selflessly to various organizations in need. She enjoyed her friends from the Happy Hour with countless hours of dancing. Many people were blessed with baked goods from Marge's kitchen. Because of Marge's love for card writing, there will be an opportunity for you to write a card in her memory, that will be placed with her. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there on Saturday, October 29th at 1:00 PM. Chaplin Meredith Tifft of Southern Tier Hospice will celebrate Marjorie's services.   Elmquist, Leonard W., II
  Our beloved Brother and Uncle, Leonard William Elmquist II, "Lenny", passed away peacefully on July 25th with his loving partner, Lillian, and cat, Jinx, by his side.
  Lenny was born in Elmira on December 17, 1959 to Marjorie and Leonard Elmquist, who predeceased him.
   Lenny is survived by his partner, Lillian Ranieri, and sisters, Nancy White, Dawn (Jim) McCarrick, Roseanna (Donald) Zifchock and Julie (Cindy) Elmquist. Lenny also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, 1 great great nephew, the Parker Family and many extended family members and friends. Lenny was a friend of Bill W. for many years.
  Born the youngest of five with four older sisters often proved challenging throughout his life! Lenny always enjoyed a good laugh, a hearty Bah Humbug, and what a joy to hear his life stories! He had a true connection with animals always owning dogs, cats and birds. He loved fishing and was always tinkering, building or fixing something. He had an ever-increasing level of expertise and passion for antique books.
  Lenny, a master carpenter, owned and operated Custom Carpentry & Services. You may also remember him as a welder, plumber, auto mechanic or chicken snatcher. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors, whom he was always willing to help.
  Lenny fought a courageous battle with cancer, selflessly entering a Cancer Study to help other people fight cancer in the future. He continued to stay positive throughout his struggle.
  Our family and Lillian give heartfelt thanks to Angel Food East, St. John's Episcopal Church, Hudson Valley Hospice, and all his friends and neighbors who tirelessly helped Lenny throughout his challenging battle.
  A Memorial will be held August 20th at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Kingston, NY.
  A Celebration to honor Lenny's life will be held on August 27th at 2 p.m. at 6291 Lewis Road, Trumansburg, NY, 607-387-9398.

  Mrs. Cora L. Craine, 67, of Jenkins Road, Red Creek, died unexpectedly early Monday morning, May 7, 1990, at her home after a brief illness.
  She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Elmira, the daughter of John and Bernice Getman Teeter and lived in Montour Falls before moving to the Red Creek area in 1952.  She was a member of the Amercian Auxiliary of VFW 7417 in Wolcott and the Red Creek Conservation Club.  She was employed many years as a waitress and a bartender in Red Creek and Wolcott area for several restaurants.
  She is survived by four sons, William E DePew of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Staff Sgt. Paul Craine of Canandaigua; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Stotard of Red Creek; Mrs. Janet Ormsby of Fair Haven and Mrs. Christine Ginette of San Marcos, Calif., Her mother Mrs. Bernice Hall of Auburn; a stepson, Kevin Craine, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in England; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Patricia Harkness, of Red Creek, two stepbrothers, Warren Palmer of Watkins Glen amd Sherman Palmer of Montours;  20 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

  Mrs. June M. Taft, 42, of Red Creek drowned Sunday while swimming in the Erie Canal (Clyde River), Clyde.  A native of Watkins Glen, Mrs. Taft lived in Red Creek for 30 years. She was a member of the Westbury United Methodist Church.
  Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Bernice Palmer, six daughters, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Reed of Martville; Mrs. Arthur (April) Capron, the Misses Bonnie, Carol, Brenda and Marilyn, all od Red Creek; two stepsons, CAlvin of Wolcott and Colin of Seneca Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Craine of Red Creek and Mrs. Helen Palmer of Elmira; and two brothers, Sheran Sherman of Burdett and Warren Sherman of Watkins Glen.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Becker Fuberal Home, Red Creek. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery, Rose.
  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

  Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Jesse Taft, 42, of RFD, Red Creek, at the Becker Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Wilcox officiating. Burila will be in the Rose Cemetery.
  Mr. Taft died from an accidental drowning at Sodus Bay.  He had gone fishing last Thursday in a rented boat and when the boat was discovered unoccupied Friday morning, dragging operstions were undertaken.  His body was recovered Sunday afternoon.
  Born in Rose, the son of Ella Taft and the late Jesse Taft, he had been a resident of Red Creek for 15 years.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union in Auburn.
  Surviving are his wife, June; six daughters, Deborah, April, Bonnie, Carol, Brenda and Marilyn; two sons, Colin of the U.S. Army and Calvin of the U.S. Navy, stationed in California; his mother of Rose; three brothers, William and Bernard of Rose and Clifford of Lyons; and one granddaughter.
